Tech arrived on time, but did not seem knowledgeable about the installation and was not prepared. He did not have a leveler with him to ensure TV was mounted straight. His drill died close to the beginning of the service and did not have all the appropriate tools needed for the job. My father in law happened to be over visiting and if he wasn't, I don't think the job would have been completed. In the end, the installation took over 2 hours and the TV was mounted too high. The tech was unable to correct the height because the holes had been drilled into the fireplace wall. Very disappointed with the experience overall, especially considering the amount I paid for installation. read more

I'm not sure how their actual install service is because we have yet to get to that point. Our 1st appointment was made Sat afternoon for a tech to come out the following day from 1 to 3. We got several text messages saying they couldn't find anyone to take the job so another appointment was set to Monday at 12. So today when 12 came and went and we hadn't heard from anyone we waited an additional hour and a half before I called and texted the number to see what was going on. We got a text back saying they would try to contact the tech assigned. We waited an additional half an hour than called the 1 800 number and was told they would try to get in contact with the tech and that another team would be in contact with me in 1 to 3 hours. Sooo 1810 hits and I haven't heard from anyone, no email, no nothing so I again call and wonder what happened. I was told they were hoping the tech would still show up so thats why no one had contacted me. What excuse me??? So me the customer had to keep reaching out to your company how unprofessional and rude. I was told they would try to reschedule for tomorrow and give us a discount for the trouble and I would be recovering an email confirmation with the new appointment time and the discount. For my day wasted I got a whooping 4.25 discount. Funny if I had canceled the scheduled time or inconvenienced your company you would charge me $25 but my inconvenience is only worth $4.25 and your no customer service or reaching out to me is only worth $4.25 . Really awesome amazing company you have here and with that being said I wouldn't suggest using them.. Update 1: still haven't had the service appointment yet we got a text last night after the various calls and emails in my part to schedule another appointment for 1300 today so let's see how this goes. If I could give zero stars I would. This company has the WORST customer service. I had a video doorbell installed. Before having the hardwiring complete I asked if the company uninstalled as well and was told yes. I called only a few days later to request uninstallation and was told that no "uninstallation" could be performed and that I would receive a return call in 48 hours. 48 hours later, after no follow-up I called again. It was recommended that I call another company to have the uninstallation performed and I was told that again, someone would call me back in 48 hours. 4 business days later, after no follow-up and working with Task Rabbit to have the uninstallation service, I called yet again and was told that now the service could be performed - after I had already been advised to contact another company. I was happy to pay Hello Tech to come out again to perform the uninstallation initially, but having to call a company three different times for resolution and STILL being told that the only thing that could be done was to escalate my call while I wait another 48 hours is RIDICULOUS. I wish I could use them again in the future but will not, because unfortunately if there were ever an issue I am now convinced that there would be no resolution. I'm not sure about these positive reviews, but it seems like a scam company that deserves zero stars. I contacted them for services I never received but they charged me nearly $300 for. They actually changed my appointment twice without my approval and then charged me a cancellation fee. Forget about talking to a person when you call,, you'll be on hold forever. I don't think they have enough techs to provide the service but will charge you anyway and not show up. read more

Nedrick was fantastic! It was a smooth experience. My old 8 year old laptop was literally on it's last leg. I purchased a new LG 17" great laptop. Buyer BEWARE. I schedule a wall-mount/TV installation for my TV on my wall, and had fantastic reviews of the company at the time, geekatoo, to go off of. I called and scheduled an appointment and an agent came last July. During the installation, it was quite clear there were some issues as the two people doing the installation did not agree with the markings of the stud finder and the frame to be used to mount my TV - it was awesome that one of the individuals stepped in to find a frame that would work with my TV, but again, the other technician was skeptical and wouldn't return for a visit. The next few months, ranging from July to August, resulted in the technician coming and failing to actually drill into the wall and mount the TV. Currently, my wall has 9 holes in it, and after about 3 visits I asked the installer to just caulk the wall, sand it, and fix it. The installer then became less and less responsive to scheduling, and due to travel, lost out on fixing the issue in September. After travel, I came back and immediately escalated hoping to resolve the issue to customer service in October, and was told by an operator that it had been escalated and await a response - nothing. Have left vmails to the company multiple times in the interim period and attempted to contact someone - no one has called back and I have been told that my call is escalated and someone will reach out to me. Finally, in May, I have been told that the claim was closed in September and that there was NO damage. Meanwhile, the wall is disfigured - it has caulk on it that hasn't been sanded down and discoloration of the wall, as well as a hole poking out. The response - "theres no damage, don't know if we could fix it. We closed the case in September because we didn't think we could do anything" - great, exactly what I want to hear on something that I didn't actually close and was actively pursuing. There is a giant white SMEAR on my wall! No response on lack of follow-up or what happened to the escalation, someone just arbitrarily made a call and then I just have been ignored. I was told that since I was charged for a service and refunded, I am clear, but that leaves me with a disfigured wall with damage to it. Service people have been vague at best to resolve the issue, and timeliness has definitely been an issue. Pros: 1. When I first talked to them, it seemed good Cons: 1. Technician has not been knowledgeable and showed lack of knowledge in mounting a TV 2. Support service has been absymal - no returned calls or messages, and no one has been supportive of the claim. 3. Was talked down too - told the fix was five minutes I could do myself for a representatives mishandling of an issue 4. Timeliness - no mention of a trail, no ability to identify when I called in. You are a modern TECH company and can't maintain callers. 5. Theres a giant white "MEH" on my wall that looks Jackson Pollock created a small, mini replica of the himalayas. Bottom line - I wouldn't and can't recommend them. At best, you'll get a good tech who can install or fix your problem, but if you have issues, good luck getting lost in the vicious cycle of hand-offs and follow-ups. They even told me they did me a service for refunding me after I had complained they charged me twice as they tried to charge me for the follow-on appointment when they couldn't install the TV - hilarious. read more

I contacted HelloTech after two weeks of frustration trying to get GeekSquad to install my 2 Nest Hello door bells. HelloTech has plenty of time slots available for the next day and provided quick confirmation of my preferred appointment. My technician, Paul K., showed up on time and was very courteous. I found it interesting that he needed my wiring diagram to connect 2 Nest Hello door bells, but the net result was a good install. read more

They charged me for a sound bar that was never installed and did install a tilt mount that does not operate. Also installed a smart light switch, but I had to get another electrician to actually make it work. I have contacted them via email and phone with little to know response on returning funds for services not completed. read more

He helped with installing my front door Ring service so when I got the flood light cam I wanted him to come back. He came the next day after I scheduled service. Horrible experience all around. Technician had no idea what he was doing, and was unable to install a simple Ring doorbell. Told me the door locks wouldn't fit my door (they do). He was also incredibly rude and nasty. I ended up having to hire someone to come and fix his work. When I tried ot complain and get a refund, I ended up having to email 2x and call 4x (during which they billed me another $105 for things I never ordered). They won't call you back and they don't respond to their emails. Never, ever, ever use this company. Seriously. Just don't do. read more

Do not use this company. I had them come out because I was having problems with my printer going offline. The tech recommended I buy a Netgear box to fix the problem. I did that. Subsequently, it did the same thing a couple more times. I had another tech out, and he said yes, everything was working great. Hello tech was very good, the tech was in my home know longer than 15 to 20 min to mount my 60 inch tv, I would highly recommend them.

They did not show for one appointment and the one they did, they fid not finish the job and charged me full price.

I previously used this company to install my Ring doorbell and they were great!. However for the TV mounting, not so great. The technician arrived on time, but he was alone, when I requested the service, I specifically checked the box stating that I could not help to lift a 75 inch tv. When I questioned Michael, he said Oh, you don't have anyone that can help? Then when I mentioned that I had paid for the cords to be hidden behind the wall and that I had the materials, he took the box with the cord kit ripped it open and said, oh you need an electrician for this!. The box clearly stated that NO ELECTRICIAN NEEDED. He never read the instructions on how to use the kit nor did he appear confident in hanging the bracket to mount the tv. I did not feel any confidence in his ability to hang my tv. My husband and other family members had to hang the tv later that evening after returning the original one that was cracked. I will not be using Hellotech again. read more

We had such a positive experience with Jesus and HelloTech. We requested a tech last minute (about 2 days before we needed our TV mounted) and they were able to accommodate us. Jesus was very punctual on a Sunday morning. I was very clueless about mounting TVs and I accidentally had the wrong wall material in my request, it was brick instead of dry wall which is way harder to mount on. But he was up for the challenge, used his own, stronger anchors since our mount didn't come with appropriate ones, and didn't charge us anything extra. He finished the entire process in under 30 minutes and our TV looks awesome the way he mounted it. It was all for a great price. read more

Mike was awesome -- persistent, knowledgeable, friendly, undaunted by what turned out to be a really hard case integrating home theater components. He stuck at it for a few hours, even going out to Best Buy when he discovered a critical cable missing, and stayed until I understood until I knew how to use the equipment. Geekatoo's policy of you-don't-pay-unless-we-fix-it is a great comfort. I'd use 'em again in a minute. One bad issue: I used online chat and got a $79 quote. When I booked the order the price quoted was $99. I booked anyhow, as I wanted to get on with it. Not sure where the disconnect occurred, and ultimately the service was great value for $99. I am beyond grateful for the service we received today, Our Tech installed a lock for my elderly parents, Doh was patient with them and explained everything perfectly! They are now able to see who is at the door before answering it and they can lock and unlock from their chair.
