Best Buy Sterling - May be the best Geek Squad/Customer service...

I've always been a big fan of Best Buy and especially Geek Squad. However, I recently purchased a…read morelaptop from Best Buy in May for around $1,300-$1,500. Less than five months later, it completely shut down. As a Best Buy/Geek Squad member for over 10 years, I expected reliable support. Instead, the experience has been extremely disappointing. Repair timeline: I was told the repair would take 2 weeks. It has now been over 3 weeks, and the only update I receive is that they are "waiting on a part." Escalation confusion: Four days ago, I was told the case would be escalated. When I followed up today, a new manager said his manager would escalate it, but I'd need to wait another 3-4 days just to find out if that's possible. Impact on livelihood: I work in defense contracting. During the recent government shutdown, no RFPs were coming out, so I was already on hold. Now that solicitations are finally being released, I can't respond because my laptop is still stuck in repair limbo. This delay is directly affecting my ability to do my job and pursue contracts. Policy rigidity: I asked if they could simply exchange the defective laptop. I was told that's not their policy -- it must be repaired a certain number of times before an exchange is considered. Unhelpful suggestion: A manager actually suggested I "just buy another laptop" to use while waiting. That is not a realistic or responsible solution, especially after already investing $1,300+. No alternatives: I asked if they had a loaner program or any workaround. They do not. After more than a decade of loyalty, I expected better. Best Buy/Geek Squad should recognize the impact of delays on customers' livelihoods and offer practical solutions -- not leave long-term members stranded without options.

But let's be…read morereal--I wasn't about to waste my time at Best Buy talking to some kid who knows more about TikTok than tech. Enter The Big Screen Store in Loudoun. We strolled in, fully convinced we were "just shopping." Kevin, the lone warrior holding down the store on a Saturday, greeted us and let us do our thing. No pressure, no awkward sales tactics--just pure, knowledgeable guidance when we needed it. The moment he shut off both TVs to show us that one had ZERO glare, my husband was sold. Then came pricing. I had done my homework, and while Amazon had it for $100 less (sketchy shipping included), The Big Screen Store had a tax waiver and free white-glove delivery. That was a no-brainer. We bought it on the spot, and the entire experience was smooth as butter. If you're in the market for a Samsung TV, this is where you need to go. Five stars, no hesitation!

Do not buy from this store. I considered purchasing a TV but could get a better deal with Costco,…read morebut moreover the return policy is much more favorable if you have issues. I purchased an entertainment center from them with obvious defects. They tried to tell me that a "hole" in the cabinet was a natural occurrence (a knot in the wood). They offered to take the cabinet in return if I paid shipping OR I could exchange for the floor model!?!?!?! Sells reps tell you that they'll take care of you, but in the end, the "home office" is the only one with authority to make decisions about returns.

I pay my first payment with a card $254. Then try to my credit card on my phone. That card is strictly credit . I don't have a pin. Well it doesn't go thru so he says hit cancel and try again. I try again and it doesn't go thru. I tell him we will have to cancel the transaction until a further time. He tells me well I'm not sure if I can do that. Let me call help desk. He calls the help desk and says they canceled it. But he then shuts down the work register. He never gave me a receipt, email or any type of cancellation form. He told me oh you weren't charged. But I check my account and I was charged $254. I only have some type of register log saying I spent $254. I've been shopping at GameStop for 15 plus years. Never have I ever got done bad this way. This guy constantly kept slamming stuff and being angry with me when I did nothing. I'm a customer. I've never been so scared to go back to a store. I just want my money back and I'll never even visit a GameStop again . This is for 10 year old nephew whom my brother sent me to go grab. He's now out of $254 and my nephews birthday gift has now been sold. Like what do I do now? This is messed up
