Tried Hello sushi in Fullerton last night for the first time. My son, daughter, son in law, and 2 good friends joined me for all you can eat sushi. The sushi was delicious and we all stuffed ourselves with tuna, salmon, various rolls, and other tasty offerings. 3 rounds of sushi were brought to our table by the servers and we got down to business with some serious noshing. 5 of us had been rock climbing so we worked up a healthy appetite. The service was well paced. The waitress checked in on us a few times each round, refilling drinks and ensuring that we were doing well. Just the right amount to be sure that the table was happy but not intrusive. We ended up closing the restaurant down. We were the last patrons when we left at 9:50PM. But we weren't ever rushed by the staff. Good low noise level during dinner, comfortable for having conversations around the table. I'll definitely be back soon. read more

This place has been on my list for the longest time. I am sadly very disappointed in my experience. I'm not sure if it was because we went at an off time, but I felt the kitchen was short staffed so I tried to be understanding about a possible lag in time, but the service was very sluggish and the food took a little too long to come out. We had to flag down a server everytime we wanted to place another order or even just to refill our water. The pros were sushi rolls were good! Super jam packed and not very skimpy. I was disappointed in the quality of our first round of nigiri, the salmon was a little tough and you could tell it wasn't as fresh as other places. The eel was also disappointing in the first round, but the second round I think the eel that was served was definitely fresher because it came out hot and soft. Overall, it was good for the price point, especially if you come during happy hour which was 29.99. I hope to give it another try in the future! read more

This place was local to me, so wanted to give them a try since I was craving sushi. We opted for the a la carte menu, just to try the nigiri and rolls, before considering AYCE next time. The sushi sampler (L) was overall solid for chef's choice nigiri. All of the nigiri on the dish was alright, but I've definitely had better tuna. I'd say the yellowtail was my favorite. We also got 2 rolls, the sweet onion salmon roll, and the giant salmon roll. The sweet onion roll was pretty good, and the giant salmon roll satisfied our salmon craving. I think the rolls had too much rice for the amount of fish though. Service was good and quick for a Saturday night. Really cute vibe with nice decorations, gives Japan vibes. Overall, Hello Sushi is a nice spot to satisfy your sushi craving for the price. read more

The food is so good, always fresh , and always tastes spot on. The ambiance and service is great and never skips a beat even when it's packed with people. The servers are constantly asking if you need anything and make sure everything is the way you like. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of sushi restaurants around me but I will always make the 15 minute drive to come eat here. read more

Service was quick here! My friend and I got two rolls and the shrimp tempura to share. The 911 wasn't our favorite but the other one we ordered was SOOO delicious. The prices are extremely reasonable as well. Would definitely recommend this place for a casual dinner! read more

The happy hour is a scam, wouldn't waste your time coming here. They advertised happy hour 12-3pm. I'm here at 1:13pm and they won't let us join the waitlist even though there's only 7-8 parties ahead. See picture of the waitlist, and they claimed because it will be 1.5 hour wait time that we won't make it in time so they won't allow us to join the list to qualify for happy hour. The wait definitely would've been only 45-1hour so they clearly don't want to honor their promotions. I just left and went to Gen across the street because I won't support a restaurant like that. It's aight. We came here after we had a craving at midnight. The fish was not bad but it's not good. It's ok for midnight sushi and I feel bad for the chef who works here late night because he's the only one making all the sushi. But yea the rice is kinda mushy and the spicy tuna tasted like unflavored mush. All the other rolls were good, but the California roll had a weird chemically taste to it. Unfortunate experience for my first time here, hopefully I could try again in the future. Called ahead of time asking about last call for ayce and was informed that ayce was unavailable but à la carte would be available for us until 1:30 if needed. Working at a restaurant I completely understand the last call so we were fine with still being able to dine in even if we got just a roll or two. We decided to make the drive over and arrived at around 12:55, but were turned down saying that they wouldn't be taking any tables due to their being no fish or rice available? I completely understand being turned down so the kitchen would close, but it would've been nice for them to let us know over the phone prior rather than us driving all of the way over with time to spare until our "last call time" and then just being turned down when we arrived. read more

Honestly, I've been to many sushi places & this spot has been one of my favorites !! Please come & try it out. The fish is fresh and they prices are even better!!! If I lived closer to hello sushi, I would seriously be coming here every week. I have seen hello sushi on IG and Yelp so many times and there a reason why there's so much hype. The restaurant itself is pretty casual and the front lady was running the restaurant like a well oiled machine! There was no wait on Friday around 8:30, and she seated us quickly while speaking to her colleagues on her walkie-talkie and getting our drink orders. We just ordered 2 rolls each and it was definitely enough for me with extra! I ordered the spicy albacore and king cobra roll. The king cobra roll was phenomenal. The shrimp tempura inside was fresh and crunchy and not stale like many other sushi restaurants serve there tempura in rolls. The sauce was great and it wasn't too spicy. The spicy albacore tataki roll was HOT. The fish on top was excellent, seared with a smoky flavor, I felt like I was eating Aburi nigiri in Japan it was so good. The sriracha sauce was something else though, I had to wipe it off it was so spicy, so only order this is you can handle the heat! My favorite were the orange rolls. I was not expecting the salmon and tuna that topped the rolls to be so thick and fresh. I usually don't order rolls with fresh fish on the top because it's usually so thin it doesn't add much, but these pieces were amazing Hello sushi it's a top sushi place for sure. The quality is amazing and their prices are so good. I hope they continue to keep it affordable despite their fame on Yelp! Will have to come back when I'm feeling hungry to try the all you can eat. read more

My party and I paid for 1 AYCE sushi and an a la carte bento box. Within two bites of the second AYCE round (this location offers 3 rounds), I pulled a long hair out from under a piece of raw fish. Obviously, there's already a higher risk involved in trying out a new sushi place with the aspect of raw fish involved, so this moment made us queasy and entirely lose our appetite. If you can't trust them to not let hair fall into the food, how can you trust them to have quality fish that won't make someone seriously ill? We asked for the check and were not initially offered any sort of discount for the inconvenience, despite only eating 1/3 of what the price of AYCE promises. There was no manager present at the location, so our server had to call her manager back and forth with our concern. We were initially offered only $6 off a $62.47 check. We ultimately ended up paying $54.93 - too much money to leave still hungry. read more

I loved the experience here, they gave a good variety in music and the service is always nice from each server. The food always taste fresh as well as has good portion sizing, there is no limit of what to order so that's a good bonus plus closing at 2 am! Wow !!!! Haven't been here in a bit but I remember it being so good!! And man !! It's still living up to that!! Especially it's so hard to find all you can eat sushi now adays and they have such amazing quality every time! Tje establishment always is very clean, great atmosphere, and always amazing staff!! The reason provided was puzzling: apparently, due to having only one chef on duty, ordering a la carte would ensure our meals arrived promptly without delay. This explanation seemed illogical to me since we would have ordered the same amount of food regardless of the serving method. Disheartened by this unexpected restriction and feeling unwelcome due to the rushed explanation, we made the decision to leave. This is the first time happens to me in the same night i got bad experience from hello sushi. 1. Dirty plate was served to me 2. I order ice water for my drink. As i finished half of my drink, i found a sponge left inside my cup. It was white sponge. So i requested for new cup and new drink. All i got just an apology from server. I have been to this restaurant for years. And this is the first time i experience. In this situation usually, the manager should come to table to apologize and offer something in the house or maybe at least a discount on the check. But i did not have the manager come to the table for apology. Nor compensation...for bad experience i got from the restaurant. Other than that .. everything else is good. As a former employee DO NOT EAT HERE. They fill old ginger buckets with ice, wait for the ice to melt and scoop them to serve water. Sometimes will fill a large clear container with water that gets cross contaminated when people wash their hands. Their random cups are usually mouth side down on a rusted counter top. Never fully dry. It's absolutely disgusting inside the kitchen. There's dried food everywhere and I don't think they've ever once cleaned any corner of their establishment. This "mom and pop" style aesthetic they have is super unclean for a place to serve raw fish. My sushi combo came with miso soup and salad and as someone pretty picky with sushi, it was surprisingly delicious for the price! Great food, generous portions, and great prices. Where can you get a bowl or a plate of rice, steamed veggies (or salad), and protein for $7 or $8.50 in this day and age? Hell, even the last few years that's STILL unheard of. I ordered a half and half plate (chicken and beef) and opted for steamed veggies instead of salad. Initially I was a tiny tiny bit disappointed in the portions when I opened the box, but honestly by the time I was nearing the end of my meal, I realized that I had underestimated how much food was actually in this container. The plate was $8.50 and you are absolutely getting your money's worth here. I was feeling pretty hungry that day, so I also shared a crunch roll (8 pcs total) which was $5.75. Again, great price! Taste wise it's pretty basic teriyaki chicken/beef with rice. It's nothing that will blow your socks off, but it IS good! The crunch roll was pretty simple too, but hey, less is more and sometimes sticking to the basics is the best move. If I worked closer I'd definitely pop in more often for sure! I will definitely be keeping Roll & Grill in the rotation now, especially if/when I want something filling that won't break the bank.

I always have a hard time deciding which rolls to get because after a while they all start to sound the same. Why don't sushi restaurants give you the option to create your own rolls? We opted for rolls with mostly salmon in them. You can't go wrong with salmon. They tasted fresh and overall good. The restaurant feels small. Not to sound picky but there seems to be a lot going on around the register area which is a little distracting when you're trying to enjoy a nice meal. You want to feel relaxed and comfortable when eating good food. But the overall service is friendly. Might possibly come back.

They really pay attention to detail the mussels are easy to eat because they detach it from the shell I really appreciate that. The cuts of fish were perfect and they don't put a lot of rice . Super fresh delicious ! I The ice cream is also really delicious perfect texture and not too sweet ! Apparently it's so good that the couple next to my husband and me ordered their ice cream first. Also the servers were so friendly attentive and welcoming ! The chefs were also so nice when we arrived and left !
