Really great tea shop. Their classic milk tea is robust and flavorful. The boba is also cooked perfectly. A lot of folks leave the middle undercooked, but they don't. The ambiance is cute and great for selfies. I'd say the focus is definitely quality over quantity in terms of drink selection. The tea quality is fragrant and not drowning in sugar.

    Takoyaki, my favorite snack.

Ambiance, service, and the bubble! They are adding snacks! The Lays chips and takoyaki, or octopus balls are must try.

**Beware of Cockroaches in Boba and Rude, Unapologetic Owner!** I wasn't planning to write this review, but after my interaction with the owner, I realized I had to. She clearly has no concept of customer service, and this whole experience was beyond unacceptable. My family and I used to enjoy the milk tea and boba at this place, so we returned one Saturday afternoon for what we thought would be another nice visit. Unfortunately, it was anything but! While sipping on my drink, I felt something crunchy. At first, I thought it might be part of the boba, but when I spit it out, I was horrified to find a cockroach in my mouth! I immediately threw up and brushed my teeth three times. When my husband came back, I asked him to check what I had found, and his face said it all--yes, it was a cockroach. We called the shop and spoke to the manager, who wasn't even remotely apologetic. When I asked what they could do, they offered a refund or another drink. Obviously, I wasn't going to drink anything from them again! So, my husband had to drive back to the store to get the refund since they wouldn't do it over the phone. When he got there, he spoke to the owner, thinking she might handle it better. Nope. Not only did she not apologize, but she also claimed it had never happened before and opened the boba pot like it was no big deal. She didn't take any responsibility or even apologize! In the end, she only refunded us for one drink, even though we ordered two, both from the same batch. This whole experience traumatized me. I used to love boba, but I can't even think about drinking it anymore. If the owner had just shown some remorse or apologized, I would've let it go. But this level of carelessness and rudeness is unacceptable. I'll never go back, and if you care about what goes into your drink, I suggest you avoid this place too.

Varied menu, everything is customizable, lots of tasty options. The place is nice and inviting to hang out. I loved the matcha latte with red bean! Highly recommend.

It wasn't busy when my wife and I arrived at 5:30 PM on a Sunday, but got busier soon after we received our drinks. I ordered a taro milk tea with 80% sweetness and less ice. It was HELLA good! The boba were al dente and tasted fresh :D Got to taste the matcha latte and wintermelon with lemon juice tea, both at 80% sweetness. They were also good choices! If you're lactose intolerant you can put away the Lactaid as the milk teas here are dairy free! This is a great place to relax and enjoy your drinks. It's clean, there's plenty of seating, and chill music playing in the background. There's free WiFi, the code password is next to the cash register on the right. There are electrical outlets to charge your electronics next to almost every table. There's PLENTY of parking. If you're looking for a boba tea definitely check this place out!

If you smell boba tea at the door, it means it's a legit place! Arrived in the evening time-with no wait time. I got the matcha latte with red bean-10/10! Also got the Wintermelon with lemon juice for later-10/10! My husband got the taro-10/10. I appreciate boba spots that have sugar adjustments (we got 80%) and milk alternatives. Staff was great! Our drinks came out super fast. Good quality boba Plenty of seating-esp for groups and just hanging out in general. Come and get yours!

Matcha Red Bean Smoothie with Ice Cream and Boba Thai Milk Tea with Boba

Yummy boba tea at the cutest K-Pop themed tea shop! Former coffee shop and specialty tea shop barista here! My fiancé and I were in the area the other day and decided to stop in at Hella Bubble and I was so ecstatic that we did. It was the cutest shop with a few places to take some Instagram worthy photos and a whole bunch of pop up booths lining one of the walls with independent artist selling all kinds of beautiful art and cute merch. When we were at the counter during our brief wait to order, we saw that they were hosting a mini event at their shop in a few weeks. There was a lot going on in such a small shop, but we were totally into such a fun and upbeat atmosphere. The menu is a pretty standard tea shop menu with a couple of house drinks to shake things up, and the baristas were courteous and quick with our order. While my fiancé ordered a Thai Milk Tea with Boba, I ordered the Matcha Red Bean Smoothie with Ice Cream and Boba. The Thai Milk Tea was one of the most on point Thai teas I've had, really bringing out the smoky sweetness of the Thai flavor without going too bitter or too sweet. The boba in both drinks was pretty good too, more middle of the road in flavor and texture, but we were both pretty satisfied with it. My Matcha Red Bean was super fun and really tasty too. It was super thick from the ice cream and the red bean at the bottom so there were points where it was difficult to sip through the straw, and I wish the matcha and red bean had been balanced out just a little bit more to compliment each other better, but I enjoyed it regardless. We actually ended up leaving with another tea, the Hella Bubble Milk Tea with Boba, and it was your textbook standard milk tea. It was delicious, hydrating, and satisfying. Hella Bubble was a delicious after dinner treat for the two of us. Maybe you'll feel the same!

Hella Bubble Deluxe and Winter Melon Milk Teas

Hella Bubble has quickly become one of my favorite bubble tea places. I'm not too adventurous with flavors, and I appreciate that they let me sample the winter melon milk tea. It's my favorite there. While I usually get the regular boba, they are out on my last trip. Instead, they offered mini boba. Whoa! I think I'm going to order the mini boba from now on. My husband took a chance and instead of his regular drink, he ordered the Hella Bubble Deluxe one time. While he liked the drink itself, the combo of boba and chews at the bottom were too weird for him, so he didn't finish the drink. Fortunately, he's loved all other drinks he's ordered. The place itself has seating and plugs along the wall, so if you wanted to work remotely, you could. The staff tends to be pretty quickly with the orders, so if you're in a rush, you won't have to wait very long.

decent place with spacious dining area. It was very clean with plenty of seating area. The tea itself was ok, bubbles were not as chewy. I am picky with the bubbles and compared to other stores, their bubbles were too soft and not chewy with an odd floral taste (could be whatever sweetener that they used). Overall, I'd come back if in the area.

Hella Bubble knows how to make boba hella right. I was pleased with the menu options and ways to customize my drink. I went with the first boba on the menu with less ice, less sugar and non-dairy milk. There was plenty of seating, so I enjoyed my drink at the table.

I am no one to judge, but after moving from Vegas where boba / bubble tea shops were popping up on every corner, I feel like I had a pretty good idea of what I preferred. It took a few shots, but SA ...this is THE spot. If you've ever had Share Tea (they have locations in Houston too!), then the hella bubble DELUXE is the exact replica of the QQ happy family. Lychee jelly, Red Bean, boba & another type (I forget as my mouth waters at 6am) all come with the infamous milk tea. The atmosphere inside also has a nice vibe. I wish I was studying for something so that I could just sit there, but with a toddler that's a tad difficult haha!

Hella bubble drink where we discovered the roach. We threw both of them away.
    Phil K.

Beware of cockroaches in Boba and unapologetic owner!!!!! I wasn't going to write a review but after my interaction with the owner I realized that she has no idea of what customer service is. So here goes... My family and I have been to this place before and like the milk tea and boba. So obviously we went back to enjoy some more on this Saturday afternoon. BUT this time it was different! My wife was sipping on the drink and felt a crunch in her mouth. And she was like, "oh hell nah!" She spit out the crunch and found the cockroach. She threw up and brushed her teeth like 3 times. I had gone out to cvs real quick and came back to her giving me the napkin with her asking me, "what's in that thing? Just look but don't tell me!" So I opened it up and lo and behold a cockroach. So we did what any customer would do, we called explaining what we discovered and asked to speak with the manager. Luckily the manager answered. But she didn't really seem apologetic and didn't offer anything until I asked what they could do. So she replied, "I could give you a refund or make you another drink." I know how boba is made and definitely didn't want another drink, at least not from them. I had already driven home and they couldn't give me a refund over the phone so I had to drive 10minutes back to the store. As I arrived I didn't want to make a scene since there were customers in the store. I saw an older lady standing behind the two girls that helped me earlier and I just approached the bar to the side and asked her if she was the manager and she replied, "I am the owner." I thought great maybe I'll get some better customer service from her. NOPE! I run a business as well and know how important customer service is and if I'm in the wrong I will own up to it and apologize. But not this owner. She looked at me and said that she's been in business for two years and "it never happened before." She opens one of the two pots of boba and says something along the lines of we can't see if a cockroach will go in or not. First of all, if you are the owner maybe an apology would be nice at first. She never once apologized, which fueled this review. I wasn't there to argue or cause a scene. I just told her I'd take a refund. She refunded me for one drink. Lol I ordered two identical drinks with boba from the same pot. Sadly the employee seemed more sorry when trying to process the refund than the owner. All in all if you like extra protein in your boba keep going back. If you want horrible customer service in addition to your discovery, then you do you. All this to say, we will not be going back ever. If you think you are the only boba place in town, you are sadly mistaken. BTW a little advice from me, change your name to Hella Crunchy or Hella Dirty or Hella Rude to you when your drink is messed up.

    Bella G.

This boba shop just opened earlier this month and I knew I had to try it out the milk tea was sweet and refreshing and had the perfect ratio of boba. Also, the boba itself added a subtly sweetness and I love the texture of it. The place was super cute but honestly I'm obsessed with the cups because the little heart pops off and you can drink from there if you order a tea without boba like HOW CUTE!! it was a little far but I'm definitely going to go back ‍ (ps- there's another location in Houston and it was on the "Best of the Best" list in the Houston Chronicle so I think it's worth trying!!)

Artea is a pretty decent chain with a wide variety of loose-leaf teas, milk teas & lattes, frozen milk teas/drinks, and a huge selection of specialty drinks such as "cucumber lychee bliss", "strawberry lychee lime green tea," or "mango coconut paradise." They also have a big selection of toppings. I love how they have basil seeds and red bean (2 of my favs). I'm pretty picky about my milk teas, but Artea's has been consistent and not watered down like most. Their food menu, although is quite pricey on some items, are pretty tasty. We tried the $24 ribeye steak fried rice and was pretty happy with it. The bento boxes are a bargain. Parm garlic aioli fries were good. Tonkatsu ramen was with "udon" like noodles, which was different. Lots of finger foods/appetizers to enjoy with your boba. They have a small dessert selection (fried oreos & matcha ice cream). I would say it's one of the better boba joints in San Antonio. My only complaint is that they run out of items on a regular basis--happens more often than I would like--ex: wintermelon milk tea (which is hard to get nowadays, unless you go to KFT).
