Ban-Ban Chicken Bowl
Rey F.

Always have a great experience when we visit! It can get a little busy but the staff does a great job of serving everyone quickly and with a smile. The space is clean, relaxing, and welcoming. They have great coffee, pastries, and Korean chicken bowls. I ordered the Ban-Ban, which is half Sweet Garlic Fried Chicken and half Korean Fried Chicken and Cream Cheese Wontons, it was so good! Definitely recommend checking this place out, no matter what time of day you visit.

What a cute find! The hotel we stayed in had something similar to coffee but coffee it was not. So my friend and I walked down congress avenue and stumbled upon this little gem. Service was friendly and welcoming! I loved that the items were unique and the bakery was equally appeasing! I chose the Dubai Chocolate Latte and a strawberry creme pastry ! Delicious !!!! I literally could not brag on this place enough! I love it here and would definitely return !!!

Cold brew, Kanafeh

I was looking for something to eat and came across this bakery and it has a ton of people in it so I thought I would try it. It's a little spot that is modern, and clean. The staff was nice and they explained everything they had, which is a lot. I opted for their cold brew but I think their matcha is where it's at. I never had matcha but everyone in there were ordering them and they looked fantastic. They were made to order which I know is a good thing. The coffee was good I would order again but it wasn't life changing. What was amazing beyond belief was their pastries, they said they were all made fresh daily and they had everything from sweet to savory and all looked great. A few things that caught my eye specifically were their Egg Tarts, Custard Donuts, and their Kanafeh. I opted for the Kanafeh because you don't see this anywhere really. The Kanafeh was all that it should be. It was crispy, had a mild cheese in the center and the bottom was soaked with a honey syrup. It was topped with pistachios which added some salt to it and some crunch. I would go back just for this. I think this place is a must stop!

I did some remote work here with a friend and it was pretty comfortable. There are multiple tables as well as patio and booth seating, and they even have a few outlets as well! They have a few yummy treats typically I believe, as well as a food menu too. Ordered a bowl and got a mix of the Korean fried chicken and the garlic sweet chicken. It was a hearty portion, though. I wished that chicken pieces were a bit smaller or bite-sized. I love cookie butter and I had a cookie butter latte. I got it without the coffee and it was exceptional!

For nostalgia I gave HeeMees another try and I'm still disappointed. I understand it feels a little unfair to compare it to what it was before, but the bar was set high with the original owner. Now, all the pastries are drizzled in a thick chocolate sauce or some other heavy sauce. The pastries are standard, not the fun more Korean flavors you can't find elsewhere. Everything is also just a little too sweet. Additionally, the space feels unkempt. Trays of pastries crowding the register, half put away. What was once my go to is no longer. Sorry HeeMee :(

I met some friends at the brand new university location. It was so cute! Much bigger than the downtown location. Great place for college students to hang out and they have pastries and even Japanese/Korean meals! It is counter service but the staff was quick and friendly! Ill have to go back to try the food. I only got the Dalgona Latte but it was good, not too sweet!

I went to the HeeMee new location off of University blvd and it was SO AMAZING! (I couldn't find their yelp page) The menu is amazing with the cutest atmosphere (I have heard good things about both locations, the university one is larger though) - a huge variety of matchas and pastries and food! Definitely go hungry. I got the coconut matcha extra sweet, a blueberry scone & tried a bit of the chicken katsu and everything was beyond delicious! Definitely check this place out!!

Dubai Chocolate Latte + patio seating

This has to be one of my favorite cafes in Tucson! This Korean cafe is located in downtown Tucson but is also opening a second location on University closer to campus. They have a variety of scrumptious coffee drinks, including matcha, ube matcha, dalgona, and butter cookie (Biscoff), and even more I didn't mention! The inside is a bit small but there are still a good number of tables to sit at (everytime I go it is pretty crowded)! The staff are always very kind and their pastries are decadent and aesthetic! They also have gimbap, chicken katsu sandwiches, bulgogi sandwiches, ramyun, and other food options. I tried their Dubai Chocolate latte today - it was a classic latte paired with crushed up pistachio bits and chocolate syrup. My favorite caffeinated drink here has to be the butter cookie latte. Parking is a little hard to find but the sweet treats here are definitely worth it!

Kimbap with yuba (no egg to make vegan)
Evie S.

I like their fresh made Kimbap with Marinated tofu skin (Yuba). The kimbap has a home style feel. I get mine without egg to make it vegan. It comes with pickled radish in it too. It's a cute little place that seems popular. I find the service at the counter to be pretty bad though. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

I had a pastry which was delicious and the ube latte tasted more like lavender than ube so I probably won't get that again. It was a nice place and the worker was friendly there is outlets and enough seating. I will definitely be back!

Wowza the line here was no joke ! Only one employee to whip it all out by herself ! By the time we arrived they were pretty wiped out . The only vegan food option is avo toast but they have many non dairy drink options . Of course I got my matcha . Cute little place . Not sure I'd come back didn't hate it but didn't love it either .

Miriamn L.

I tried the spicy beef bowl, strawberry matcha and the pistachio croissant. The food was delicious. The new location is super girlie and vibey, staff was friendly and I didn't wait long for my food. I thought the prices were fair. There is plenty of tables and chairs to sit indoors and outdoors. I will definitely be back to try other food options. 10/10

This is a cute small Korean coffee shop, with a nice looking menu. I just grabbed a coffee during TENWEST, so they were out of a lot of stuff unfortunately so I will have to come back again. The coffee I had was called the Dalgona Latte and was very good love the honey comb.

I heard heemees got sold. Who is the new owner?

Hi All, Do they have any gluten-free options?…

Hi Isadora, thanks for asking! We usually have at least one gluten free option available (a lot of times it's a fruit cream cake!) Feel free to call and ask if we have…

When I finally moved, I thought the hardest part would be adding 30 minutes to my commute. It wasn't. It was losing that daily routine of walking into a place that feels so real and personal. Talega isn't just a coffee shop. It feels intimate in a way that's hard to find now. You can tell Tyler & Rene actually care. Not just about the coffee, but about the people who come in and the community around them. Nothing about it feels transactional. You're remembered, conversations matter, and it feels grounded in something genuine. Their seasonal drinks are what really set them apart. They are not cheap grabs for attention or copies of whatever is trending online. The ideas feel inspired and intentional. (Their maize latte and miso latte were perfect) You can tell there is real thought behind what they put on the menu. It reflects a level of care for the craft that is especially rare. It's been incredible to watch how far they've come since they started. They've grown without losing what makes them special, which is not easy to do. I don't live next door anymore, but I will never stop being a regular and I will never stop drinking the Maize latte (I literally dream about it).

I had one of the Spring 2026 specialty iced lattes, the Sumac Floral Bloom. It had lemongrass, lavender florals, with a sumac finish. Cafe A La C'art is a slightly hidden, off the main track restaurant attached to the Tucson Museum…read moreof Art. It is an amazing pastry location and a great lunch location. We have been coming here for over ten years, either as a couple or when my work has events. They can be a little pricy, but it is an amazing location with charm. There is interior and outside seating. You order at the counter with menus provided to review. You WILL be tempted by the pastries. It is mostly sandwiches and salads...and pastry. The drinks are soft drinks, teas and limited alcohol. Food is always well presented, and they do accommodate changes. Staff are friendly but also busy. Did I mention the charm, the adobe rooms have tables and the decor bring the experience together. It can be loud at times, but not overwhelming. Definitely visit, especially if doing the courthouse tour, the Presidio or Old Town shops, other hidden downtown gems.

Lots of nature themed paintings and photographs. I also really like their patio. I had the smoked beet sandwich and replaced the goat cheese with extra pumpkin seed-pistachio- sesame spread to make it vegan. It comes with seasoned fries/ green salad with herb vinaigrette/ or today's side a vegan potato salad. I chose the green salad with herb vinaigrette and really appreciated it had some pumpkin seeds too. They also gave me a sample of the potato salad but I liked the other food I had better. My understanding is that they use frozen potatoes for the fries vs fresh ones but season them with a seasoning mix. The pumpkin seed-pistachio- sesame spread in the sandwich was called "tahini" on the menu but it seems like it was sesame seeds in it not ground tahini paste. The sandwich was really yummy and great for summer. Ordering the first round is at the bar counter but once you are seated after your first order you can order more from the staff. I hear that there is a line to order at the more popular times but there was not a line when I was there. They had lots of great looking baked good. One was vegan and gluten free. Great place to have food at while visiting the Tucson Museum of Art. They share a small free parking lot.
