Such a quaint little spot. It's a house turned restaurant and I just love the rooms that have turned into dining rooms. The food is fresh. They have their own gardens where they're really farm to table. We ordered the mezza to share between the 7 of us. The pitas were fresh out of the oven and the hummus, baba ganoush, tabbuli, falafel, labni, cucumber & yogurt, olives, feta cheese, and mixed pickles were all so fresh. It was the perfect starter to get our palettes clear for our main entrees. My mom ordered hedary's chicken, husband ordered the meat combination, and I had the lamb loin kabob. My mom said her chicken was a bit salty for her taste, but it's because she doesn't salt anything. Husband really loved all the meats in his dish, and I think I should've ordered the lamb medium rare because the medium was a little too overcooked for me, making it a little chewy. Flavors were great, just not as tender as I was hoping. Service was wonderful, we had Ella as our server. She seemed so sweet and nice. It was worth the $40 Uber ride to get here. Seriously, the best food I've had in the DFW area. Everything in the mezza platter was superb and the lamb chop was to die for. Came here for a date night the other evening with my husband. We didn't have a reservation and it was a Saturday evening. Luckily we got a table rather quickly. The restaurant itself is inside an old house in downtown Allen. Very eclectic and homey. We were sat at a small two top near the bar I assume. I'm not going to lie, wasn't a fan of being sat next to a cluttered bar, but we made the best of it. Our server I assume was also an owner; she was friendly; super busy but friendly. She asked us if it was our first time and immediately told us everything was good. We ordered the mini meza, grapes leaves and each a shish kabob platter. The food was very tasty and prepared perfectly. The mini Meza was still very large even for the two of us; I loved that it gave you a sample of everything. The hummus and falafels were my favorite from that including the bread. The grape leaves were amazing! Best I've had! The Hedary's soup was good; but it wasn't amazing. It was honestly more broth than filler. The shish kabob combo plate was very yummy. The rice was out of this world. The lamb and chicken kabobs were perfectly cooked and amazing! The beef ones were cooked perfectly however they had no seasoning; no salt.... So I had to dip those in hummus. Service was overall ok.... What an odd place. This restaurant is a very old house that has been converted. Each room has 2 - 3 tables in it as far as I can tell. One thing to be aware of is that your conversations will be heard by everyone around you, so watch what you say. The food was amazing and the service was great! Our waiter was very attentive and did a great job. The food was so delicious. My wife had the Hedary's Chicken and I had the Gyro plate. They were both wonderful. Hedary's brought us wonderful food in large quantities, all inside a quaint old house. Easy to find, great parking area too. A friend and I had dinner here, and while our food was great (best hummus ever, and the pita bread was hot and fresh), I noticed some minor things that could be improved: There was nowhere on the website that said that Hedary's is a BYOB establishment. It would have been nice to see written (in large letters!) somewhere on the website that alcohol is not served. We would have loved to have a cocktail, but did not see anything on the website to that end either. Please update the website to note both of these. I did not see salt and pepper provided on the tables, nor was butter provided (was told they don't typically have butter on hand). Pre COVID review. Tucked away off the main streets, Hedary's is in an old house. Pretty unique setup. No wait on a weekend night. They don't offer pita sandwiches for dinner, only entrees, which was a disappointment. They bring over complimentary pita bread and olive oil (?) dipping. Hedary's is definitely a unique spot for a delicious Lebanese meal. It's nestled in downtown Allen..as a quaint little home converted into a restaurant. It's not fancy but it is inviting. Our dinner was early at 530 so it wasn't super busy. And, although we sat in a room with 2 other families, it wasn't loud at all, and we could actually enjoy others company without yelling across the table. We had the mezza platter and it was delicious. The falafel was the best I've ever eaten from a restaurant and the baklava was even better. The shish kabob combo was good as well. No wonder Hedary's has such great ratings! I've passed the pink house many times, thinking "I really need to try them". I finally placed 2 pickup orders in the last couple weeks. Everything was delicious and immediately brought warmth during the chilly weather. It felt like I was eating a comforting home cooked meal in a highly skilled Lebanese momma's kitchen. I've tried their: -hummus (garlicky goodness) -tabbouleh salad (now a fav - has a nice mint kick) -falafel & falafel sauce (a yummy as heck tahini mix) -fresh pita bread (exceptional) -Hedary's soup (a must!) The 1 issue is none of the staff wore masks. As Omicron is irrefutably spreading like wildfire, it was disappointing to see their choice. I hope they update how they handle pandemic safety. I'd been meaning to leave a review for this place for quite sometime. I've been here before with the family, but this time I came with just my son. The place is pretty much an older house converted into a restaurant. I write this with mixed emotions since my first experience here was pretty good. The service was great and the food was delicious. I want to give this place either four or five stars, but my second visit was not so awesome. My son and I were seated immediately and given menus. The gentleman that was to take my order came back in below par times and I spent a lot of time waiting. The older gentleman that worked there spent more time talking to the gentleman in the room at the next table and less time tending to my son and I who were hungry after our soccer game. So to be fair, the food is great, I won't discount that part. That being said, I don't like when I feel like I'm a burden while I'm dining. We were given a very small portion of bread for our hummus. When it ran out and I asked for more, it seemed like an inconvenience. There was a sauce that my son wanted, when he tried explaining what it was, the server seemed a bit impatient. When I ordered my meal, I tried explaining what I had last time, but when I felt a bit rushed, I settled for something else because I felt like I was a burden. I may or may not come back to this place. The service wasn't horrible, it just wasn't what I'm used to. This Lebanese restaurant was a nice find. It has been family-run for many years, and the black-and-white pictures on the walls evidently show their involvement in the local DFW restaurant scene. With the years behind their belt, and experience of managing the restaurants (they have another restaurant in Fort Worth), they're well suited to give a good experience. As for authenticity, I do think that the flavors are sometimes different. But I would not doubt the quality. The flavor differs because they use more locally sourced ingredients, and these ingredients may end up being different from what is considered "normal" for the cuisine that is based off of the ingredients of Lebanon. Texas and Lebanon are obviously two different environs. Their focus on local ingredients are very much appreciated, and provides a Texan twist to the cuisine. You'll see that surrounding the house where this restaurant operates in, there's a large garden of herbs and vegetables, all of which are used for dishes that are made to order. The freshness and quality of the ingredients is also what allowed this Lebanese restaurant to offer the hard-to-find dish in the DFW: the kibbeh nayeh ($17, which needs to be ordered ahead of time), which is similar to the raw Ethiopian kifto that is more common in the Dallas area. The kibbeh nayeh (written as kibbi nayyi in the menu) consists of raw lamb and a mix of Texan spices and a little bit of local jalapeño for a kick. At first, I was hesitant about the Texan influence, but it came out to be tasty and a better rendition of the dish than I've had at other establishments that do offer this dish in the DFW area. Accompanied with pickled veggies, raw onions, and fresh mint, it's a pleasure to eat together with the pita. I also was able to try the mini mezzo platter ($11) that consists of hummus, baba gannoush (baba ghannouj), and tabbouli (tabbuli) and they were all well-prepared and excellent. Their pita bread was freshly baked in-house and a worthy complement to the dippings (even though the pita bread themselves were of a different size and shape than what I'm accustomed to). And for the food, be sure to ask for extra olive oil to drizzle. So yes, this place is different. But it's local. And it shows in the cuisine, but while at the same time letting the Lebanese roots shine, with family-cooking love. Note: This place gets much more love on TripAdvisor than on Yelp for some odd reason. And for this establishment, I'm going to have to side with TripAdvisor on the ratings. read more

Met my friend here for lunch for our first visit. The restaurant is located in a quaint old house in Allen. The lunch sampler platters, are reasonably priced as are the sandwiches. The hummus is fresh and delicious! I highly recommend this as an appetizer. My friend had the trifecta salad sampler and she thought it was ok. The chicken salad had a bit too much cinnamon and was a bit overwhelming. The chicken kabob was very dry. The vegetables were very good and would rather have had those as to eating dried out meat. The rice was good. I think it's hard to mess up rice. I do have to say the service was really fantastic which made up for the so so food. My husband was craving Mediterranean food so we decided to check out this place, which is a restaurant that we pass by almost everyday. We ordered the Hedary's chicken with potatoes and carrots as well as the gourmet gyro and rice plate. Along with our orders came pita bread and a small salad. The chicken was in a very lemony and garlicky sauce. It was interesting, but not enough for me to get again as the lemon flavor was strong. I enjoyed the carrots and potatoes that were served with it. The gyro and rice was pretty standard. For $15, I thought the portion would be bigger but it seemed kind of small. Overall, I wasn't too impressed in terms of flavor as well as pricing. I wouldn't mind coming to this local restaurant again to try more items and to dine in when we are able to again.
