And, the lady taking orders, after handling the other people, then looked around and asked if anyone else needed help, before finally coming to us. When we received our order, it was cold. We stopped in to buy some baklava for a Christmas present. The spices that permeated the restaurant/bakery were amazing. I ended up buying some "sugar free " baklava for myself. You wouldn't believe how delicious the sugar free baklava was. So light and flaky with a hint of sweetness. Delicious! Our first visit here today. Not sure I heard of them before. We got mini baklawa & toum & spinach fatayer. All perfect. The baklawa was syrupy in the middle, not soggy, & not too nasty sweet like many places. Also taste fresh. So even if they purchase from a vendor, I hope they keep on lol. Like 20min later we came right back to eat with a friend. Ordered kofta wraps which I normally hate but was surprisingly good here. It wasn't hard & dry. Was like koobideh with less seasoning & no shredded onion inside. The beef shawarma looked good too. I liked the muhamara I ordered too, with small tiny diced onions in the paste. Very thick on the bread so wasn't drying out in the oven. The dolmas were good too, not soggy and sour even though rice only. :) We are extra fat and full. Shekamu. Also the employees were super friendly & explaining things we didn't know of, an Armenian cured meat. Then even brought us little samples & explained different ways they use it. Tucked away in Central Plano, and relatively close to the local hospital, this small combination of fresh sweets, lunch items and an ethnic ingredient marketplace is shining as it's own small business, generally operated by a women, and providing quality throughout its 3 pillars of business. Moving in, their display presents to you hundreds of pieces of different sweets originally from all over the Mediterranean, and a kind, motherly women who is open to serve and gracious to the use of a small bell to let her know you need help. The atmosphere is stagnated with delicious smells of herby and juicy meats, and a sense of a nice relaxing lunch. Definitely an inviting feeling. The food itself is throughly adequate for the price, with Schwarma/Rolls rolled tightly, packed full and wonderfully juicy. They offer different protein options, alongside a selection of different "pies", more akin to a small pizza. Their pie selection is equally well made and certainly amicable, with the option to split them halt&half so you can really try different flavors, and with them comb out quick and hot, it's a great option as an appetizer. Overall, I'd thoroughly suggest dropping in to this small shop, the experience is memorable and right in the middle of the city. Yelp's Cashback option only sweetens the deal. Good eats! read more

(Full disclosure - more detailed review written for Plano Profile magazine) I went for lunch with a friend. (Lunch and dinner is served daily Monday through Saturday.) Our selections included Mediterranean favorites, like hummus and doulma, along with lesser-found fare like a shawarma chicken sandwich and a cheese pie with soujuk. The doulma and hummus were pulled from the refrigerated case. They're made fresh daily, packaged and available for convenient grab-and-go service. The hummus was topped with a generous pour of rich olive oil. Two warm pieces of pita made for easy dipping and savoring. Let's talk about the main dishes. First, the shawarma chicken sandwich. A lightly toasted pita, wrapped in foil, contains the most wonderfully flavorful sliced chicken, garlic sauce, onions and a sprinkle of fresh parsley. The cheese pie with soujuk was like a flatbread pizza. The base is za'atar, a traditional Lebanese bread that is very similar in texture and flavor to a pita. Our pie came topped with akawi cheese, a Middle Eastern white cheese similar in flavor and texture to feta. We also ordered soujuk, an Armenian sausage. Soujuk was absolutely delicious and unlike anything either of us had ever eaten. Slightly sweet, as if it contained cinnamon, and slightly spicy, like chorizo. It was amazing.You can purchase packaged soujuk to take home for cooking experiments of your own. We sampled bits and pieces of several desserts, including baklawa, maamoul date, kenefe and date cookies. They all were super-yummy and not overly sweet. (My favorite!) My husband and I ordered 80% of the food off the menu, and not one item was left uneaten. There were tears of joy and happy music playing in my head as I chomped down on these delicacies because everything felt like it was made with love and soul. The sweets here have flavor complexities with each bite. They're not simply overpoweringly sweet, but have layers of fragrance, texture, and that homemade taste. The people who run the restaurant are warm and kind, and if they see you eating enthusiastically, they add recommendations on what to add on with the food. During winter stormageddon 2021, we were desperate for some hot yummy food after 3 days without power. Fadia's was the only open spot we could find nearby and I'm so glad they were because we discovered a gem! We normally go to places like this for the pitas, but given the circumstances we were craving comfort food and decided to try the "pizzas" & "pies". Each one was uniquely delicious with thin, fresh crust and flavorful toppings. The cheese and soujuk was our fave! They are also very reasonably priced, and while they aren't as big and filling as typical pizzas, it's nice to have the unique flavors and a variety of choices at such a reasonable cost. Seems like they stopped selling pita bread - so this is no longer the best place to buy them. As of this date, I'm still undecided where is the best place to pursue the best pita bread. Additionally, they're planning on relocating to W Parker Rd on Plano, probably by the beginning of February. When they do, they may revamp their offerings. Their mana'eesh (or manakish or sfiha) or Lebanese pizzas are still the best I've had so far in Dallas. Are they the best in Texas? Maybe not since I prefer the mana'eesh at Abdallah's in Houston (although really they only have just za'atar and cheese - for a complete mana'eesh bakery experience, one would have to go to Cedars Bakery, also in Houston). Be warned though - if you're looking for a menu at this place for their Lebanese pizza, it'll be a fruitless effort. You'll have to ask the owner to see what exactly they can make - and if you need a visual or a explanation, just ask him/her to show you the pictures of each mana'eesh offering that they have in their television set that is hooked up to their computer (yes, they have a picture of each and every type of mana'eesh that they can make - and it's quite an awful lot more than the horrible horrible menu they have for the public). You could get the traditional za'atar and cheese pizzas or you can go for the one that has tomatoes, akawi cheese, and onion - which is what I recommend. You'll also be able to find that they're able to make mana'eesh with sujuk (Armenian sausage not too different from a chorizo) and cheese as well. You'll be helped either by the man or his wife. And the guy is a friendly and helpful person and will be willing to serve you even after turning off the oven near closing time. He turned on the oven for me to make the mana'eesh in the evening, and I was certainly rewarded. As for the shawarma, it's still not the best I've had - for that, I actually prefer the Israeli variant on Coit and Roundrock (between Arapaho and Belt Line) for its flavor even though Fadia's wraps their shawarma in a roll, which is how I prefer it, than stuffing it in a pita pocket, which is Turkish/Israeli style. As for the sweets, I'm still not convinced that this is the place to go but I still haven't tried the walnut and cinnamon variety of baklava. But so far, for the sweets, I much prefer the Iraqi bakery and sweets shop on Richardson's Polk street. read more

Fabulous homemade Lebanese grub! I was craving for some goodies and came across under the Cheap Eats category and saw this page - I didn't even realized I've drove by this place million times and missed it every single time. So I got a chance and now I only wish I could've done it sooner! I ordered through yelp and got bunch of items for less than 13 dollars; 8 inches large Zaatar and Cheese Pizza, Pita Breads, Garlic Dip, Spinach Pie, and Baklawa Pistachio. Everything was sooo delicious and so good on its own but altogether from the pizza to pita breads to the spinach pie was well executed to satisfied me. The cheese and Zaatar pizza were crusty and soft and the Lebanese toppings they use, yess! The spinach pie was decent but if it were to be more warmer, it'll be better. The pita bread along with the creamy garlicy dip (I use the pizza and spinach pie to dip with it too), soo yummy! And lastly, the small bit of baklawa pistachio was so chewy and delicate yet super sweet - such a good way to end my bomb lunch. Fadias is a great little place to come to if you're craving good, simple, authentic Lebanese food, and all at a great price point. I like the fact that I can go in here and order a few small items without paying a ridiculous amount. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and the meat pie. The meat pie is loaded with traditional spices and tastes fantastic. Definitely a change of pace from its pizza cousin! The shawarma was also great. The garlic sauce is excellent and it is good til the last bite. I'm never a fan of Yelping about atmosphere when the food is good, but it's obvious that this was not the main focus here. They have great food. The prices are reasonable, the (family owned) staff is super friendly and always has a smile and a friendly chat. The baked goods, cookies and baklava are all homemade and the best around. I believe they are still the maker of those found in Central Market, I know they used to be at least. This is our go to place for falafel, schwarmas, zaatar, meat pies and hummus. You will not be disappointed.
