I've wanted to visit this friendly little bakery near downtown Plano since it was located in *in* downtown Plano. Finally this week I made a stop on my way home. Trays and tongs are located near the cash register - grab them, then self serve from cases of baked pastries, sweets and breads. I selected several different things so I could try a variety. Overall, we decided that the sweets weren't super sweet (not a good or bad thing, just the way it is), but everything was well made. We bought 5 items that were huge and spent just $7. Bought some pan dulce, menudo, and barbacoa Sunday morning. The pan dulce was good but the "barbacoa" was terrible. First of all it was not barbacoa; it was shredded beef meat instead with a bland taste. We threw most of it away. The menudo was ok but did not have any hominy in it! We're used to having hominy in it. We're from San Antonio and we've had a hard time finding good Tex Mex food here in Plano and we thought we'd get some good barbacoa and menudo here. What a great neighborhood gem! We came in for tamales--a dozen of pork and another of chicken--but couldn't leave without taking some freshly baked Mexican sweet bread, such as Conchas and guava empanadas. Their breads are some of the best I've had around! A friend brought these to work and I had been thinking about them ever since. It's a small shop with cases full of amazing looking pastries, you walk in and grab a tray and tongs and get to work. I got the concha's, pigs, and empanadas with cheese and apple. All the breads are soft and flavorful and everything is priced very reasonably. I got half a dozen tamales as well and the red pork was fantastic. I stopped by the nearest Panaderia while I visited my sister in Allen, TX. They had a big selection of pan. A very helpful gentleman asked me if I needed any help & I requested tamales. He offered a taste test so I took him up on the offer. I was thinking he'd bring me cut up portions of tamales. Nope! He brought me a whole tamal and they were so good! I had to buy a dozen from that point. Chicken, queso con Rajas & pork. I also purchased sweet empanadas & conchas. All were tasty. Will definitely stop by again when I'm in the area. read more

Conchas are fluffy and airy. Super soft and tasted great! I had a sema the next day with coffee and it was still very soft. Had a couple of filled pastries and were super tasty. We were offered some champurrado and a taste of tres leches cake while we decided on the bread. Service is fast and friendly. I didn't get a chance to try the carnitas and menudo (only on weekends) but will do so soon. read more

I can only review the 2 breads I got.. the elephant ears and conchas. Hands down the best conchas I've had. They are so light and airy and the cracklin topping is so crunchy and it adds the right level of sweetness. The elephant ear was buttery, cinnamony sugary, crispy and flaky. I wasn't mad at all for driving 30 minutes to get it. They have a wide array of desserts and cakes.. so many options! read more

If you have a hankering for empanadas, this place will not disappoint! I've been on an empanada kick lately and found this place after doing a Yelp search and was pleasantly surprised to see the huge selection of different flavors available - including coconut, peach, apple, pumpkin, sweet potato, pineapple, and many other flavors. The first time I came it, it was a good experience. The owner of the bakery came out and handed the 3 customers who were in the store, a fresh baked, still warm, almond cookie that was delicious! The second time, I came after 5:00 and there were only two girls working in the back and three customers waiting at the counter and it seemed like we waited forever for someone to finally come out and take care of the customers. The first girl brought out a cake to someone who was already waiting there and then disappeared. I finally had to stick my head back in the kitchen and ask if someone could ring me up! I waited at least 30 minutes from the time I walked in. It's a bit pricey compared to what I paid recently in San Antonio for empanadas but I'll still give them another try. read more

Sweet pan has too much flour and has no taste. Pan dulce tiene mucha harina y no save a nada no tiene sabor. Each piece of sweet bread has it's set price individual. It was out 1st time stopping here for sweet bread and will be our last. Not happy with the sweet bread. Would rather drive to Panaderia La Reyna Imperial or Panaderia Guatelmalteca La Unica. read more

We bought a cake from here yesterday after a recommendation from our friend for another friend's anniversary, and it was beautiful... the cake was completely soured and rotten on the inside! I guess the icing covered up the scent at first, but after we cut into it, the smell was awful! Thankfully, they reimbursed me the whole cost of the cake! I will say they had an amazing variety of baked goods - made me wish I wasn't gluten free! However, after our experience, I'm not sure if this is a place I'd give another try. read more

We're from southern California so we're used to panaderías at every corner. We've been trying to find one that meets those standards and this is the one for us! Customer service is amazing, they offered little samples of their drinks while we were picking our bread. Both samples were great by the way. There is a wide selection of bread along with slices of cake and donuts. The bread I picked was so dang soft and sweet, I was looking forward to going again the whole week (we plan to go every Sunday now). I came here for tres leches. I loved it! I'm on a quest to eat all the tres leches and this place serves one of the best ones in Plano. The cake is soaked but not soggy and still retains a great form and texture. Also I loved how they used minimal icing, which is a preference of mine when it comes to tres leches. I also saw they do cinnamon rolls in tres leches form! I got that as well. I wasn't too much of a fan because it had raisins, haha. The staff working here are so sweet, they gave me free bread to try! It looks like a lot of people come here for tamales, so I hope to get that soon with a tres leches of course. Zero stars,but I'm eating it because I have too, this place is horrible honestly I went with my parents and my brother last time and it's not good at all, the rice isn't good, the tacos don't have flavors, I asked for "camarones a la diabla" cause I thought they were gonna be good, but no they only give you 6 shrimp, rice, beans, and lettuce but ONLY 6 shrimp, they weren't even good, they tasted HORRIBLE.
