Even though this place has an awkward entrance from Hungry's, the staff is super welcoming and the manager/owner very friendly. The interior is good and feels clean, and fresh. Coming to the food, the ceviche were probably the best thing we ordered. It was super tasty and couldn't tell it was vegan. But the Philly cheesesteak was the complete opposite of good. It was dry, tasteless and had a lack of condiments. I tried a bite of the egg plant taco and the eggplants were soaked in not so good frying oil. Maybe, I'll visit to try some other things on their menu soon.

I really love coming here. The service continues to be amazing. Love all the plant based options. Luz, the bartender was so friendly and gave the best service. Al the staff were super friendly.

We strive to be whole food plant based and really struggle to find good meals on long road trips. In this case, Yelp did not disappoint traveling back to austin from Florida. Heartbeet really has something for everyone. Not vegan. Ok. Add some egg. Or salmon. Vegan junk foody? Sure Philly cheesesteak and fries might be your jam. Wfpb. They've got you covered - all the bowls and salads hit the mark. Food was super delicious. Lots of veggies. Lots of flavor. Portions were really generous in contrast to what other reviewers mentioned. We even ordered 3 entrees, and I walked away stuffed. We will be back and feel fortunate that there's such a delicious new plant based restaurant to hit Houston.

The food was so deliciously fresh and tasted amazing. I ordered the fusion bowl with fried eggplant and the harvest pizza with cashew cheese . Service was pleasant, and the ambiance was perfect for date night. I will try this establishment again because of the extensive menu options.

Great overall vibe. Plenty of seating space and ample parking too. Food was pretty average IMO. We ordered the the following and I'll rate those out of 5: 1. Crispy eggplant tacos - 2.5/5 - the beans served had a stink. The eggplant was fried in stale oil so that had a stink too that made me nauseous. Avocado tortilla was good. 2. Philly cheese steak- 1.5/5 - it was very very dry. Like you'd need water with each bite. The fries served along with it were not crispy at all 3. Ceviche- 5/5 - THE ABSOLUTE BEST ITEM OF ALL! Can't go wrong with this.

Vibe- I love how colorful and green (plants everywhere) the space is on the inside. There's plenty of seating on the inside and plenty outside as well. Customer service- There was only one server this day (only reason for 4/5 stars), but I think she did a pretty good job seeing that she had a few pretty big parties. Food/drinks- I got the snackers trio, spinach artichoke dip, breakfast burrito, and raspberry mimosa; it was all very tasty. Parking- A good amount of parking. They are right next to Hungry's so you'll walk pass them to get the HeartBeet.

Fantastic healthy eating restaurant on memorial! Came here from the energy corridor, and loved the ambience, service and menu. I ordered the crispy eggplant on the soba salad, and it was light, flavorful, and overall delightful. I wish it was closer to my house, I'd come here all the time!

Extensive menu, very friendly staff, and colorful, delicious food! We'll be back! I had the falafel bowl which had a wide variety of plants and flavors. My mom had the chicken salad and loved it.

I'm very disappointed in the service it took in almost empty restaurant ( 2 tables were seated) 15 minutes after being seated to be served. Then for ever to get food even longer for anyone to find out we are done. I took tomato bisque it was average at best and I took fries that turned out to be cold and hard as a rock. Ranch had so much blue cheese in it that I might as well asked for blue cheese. were exchanged they were dress her but soft is not word I would use to describe them. My friend had tacos she said they were ok.

Just get any and everything. Honestly. This is my go to vegan healthy lunch option. Everything I've ever had on the menu is delicious but in particular I absolutely love the lentil soup. I love it so much that I have tried to replicate the recipe at home and I've gotten pretty close. I've had the tofu wrap- delicious. Their bean burger is spot on as well. I love ordering their froze and any of their margaritas also hit the spot. Service is fast and friendly. Food is delicious.

The old infamous "Nextdoor" Bar and lounge. They love beets here. A lot of food and drinks with the beet theme and thats great unless you suffer from kidney stones. The beet infused tequila margarita is amazingly dangerous. Easy to slam and they are $12 each. Beautiful interior with absolutely great patios. (Yes they have 3 different patios) Nice bar with one side inside and the other side outdoors. I kind of feel like I'm in Austin with the retro colors. I've always loved this location. Perfect spot on memorial, the menu looks great and they still do the pepper vodka. (Get it rimmed with the spicy salt) Highly recommend and hope to see this place liven up soon.

Came on a Friday, I couldn't eat meat for the day so I searched up vegetarian options. Noticed their fried eggplant tacos are popular so I went in to order! Wasn't busy, I sat myself at a table. The tacos were delicious and I enjoyed the beans as well. Loved how they added citrus to the beans

Pictured is the trio sampler, eggplant tacos, Philly "cheesesteak" and the wild mushroom penne pasta. We paired these dishes with some of their beet infused tequila. WOW! I just left and am already dying to go back. *Disclaimer* Although the menu is mainly plant-based there are a few dishes containing honey such as their tofu dishes. Be sure to ask and all dishes featured are fully vegan. No dishes contain dairy and they use a vegan mozzarella.

Credence -- Where Live Fire Becomes Language and Houston Becomes Art…read more Credence isn't just a restaurant; it's a declaration written in flame. The moment you step inside, the room opens like a long exhale -- wide, airy, and confident, anchored by an open kitchen that glows with the kind of live fire that doesn't simply cook food but tells stories. This is Houston hospitality raised to its highest register, the kind that once earned a Michelin Star for service and still moves with the quiet pride of a place that knows exactly what it's doing. Chef Levi Goode's first brick‑and‑mortar feels like a culmination -- a fifth‑generation Texan with classical training finally building a home where both halves of his identity can stretch their legs. You taste the lineage in the smoke, the discipline in the technique, and the ambition in the menu, which reads like a love letter to Gulf waters, ranch land, and the elemental power of fire. Start with the seafood tower if you want to understand Credence's worldview: fresh, cold, towering abundance arranged with the precision of someone who respects the ocean as much as the plate. The smoked tuna dip is a quiet masterpiece -- silky, savory, and carrying a whisper of smoke that feels like a signature. But the deviled crab? That's where the kitchen shows off. The crab arrives tossed in a smoky tomato butter that clings to every fold, every shred, every hidden corner. Then comes the monkey bread -- warm, soft, pull‑apart temptation -- the kind of bread that makes you forget your manners and commit fully to the moment. But the flame is the true narrator here. It guides the entrées, sets the rhythm, and crowns the showpieces. The whole duck is a spectacle, a celebration, a feast meant for people who appreciate craft and aren't afraid of abundance. It arrives whole (no head), lacquered and glistening, with two legs transformed into confit jewels -- tender, rich, and decadent enough to make you pause mid‑bite. This is not a solo mission; bring a friend or two unless you plan to make a memory out of leftovers. If beef is your compass, the prime dry‑aged New York strip is a study in restraint and precision. Charred edges, deep flavor, and that unmistakable live‑fire signature that makes you wonder why you ever settled for anything cooked on a quiet grill. Dessert at Credence is not an afterthought -- it's a finale. The brown butter Bundt cake arrives warm and fragrant, crowned with chantilly cream that melts into every ridge. It's sized for a crowd, but sharing becomes a philosophical dilemma. Credence is not cheap, but it is honest. Every dollar is accounted for in intention, detail, and execution. This is Houston -- bold, generous, and unafraid -- translated into food, flame, and service. A restaurant that honors the land, the lineage, and the craft, all at once.

If you enjoy decadent food, Credence is the spot! The interior is refined but still welcoming and…read morelively with Southern charm. Service was amazing-- we loved our waiter who was a combination of polite, funny, and knowledgeable, and everyone gave us a smile. All the dishes were beautifully presented and flavorful but definitely on the heavier side. - Beet salad (5/5)-- wow, never had a beet salad like this one before! So much flavor with a tanginess from vinegar sweetened by the blueberries and beets. The beets didn't taste very earthy (aka like dirt) compared to most beet salad. This was really well executed :) - Caesar salad (3.5/5)-- Credence's spin on Caesar, which according to my Caesar salad pro diner, didn't really taste like Caesar salad. Also very tangy and tart but the pro still enjoyed it as a salad dish. - Roasted cabbage (4/5)-- big fan of the way they roasted this, perfect tenderness without being cabbage mush! Definitely a heavy dish, especially for a vegetable option, as it was swimming in a butter cream sauce that started to congeal as it cooled off. Would choose this more as an indulgent appetizer rather than a healthy veggie option. I wonder if one could ask for the sauce on the side... - Tuna tostada (3.5/5)-- if you like strong flavors, this one packs a punch. The gochujang aioli beneath the tuna is really concentrated, making it difficult to taste the actual tuna. There's a bit of heat but thankfully I wouldn't say it was spicy. Fun to try. The tostada itself was very dense and almost a bit bread-y versus a crispy chip texture. - Crab fried rice (4/5)-- comes with lobster foam that is mixed table side and a generous amount of crabmeat lumps. The rice actually had a nice texture without being too... grainy / individualized, but it was too salty for me. - Akaushi Wagyu beef (4.5/5)-- loved the texture which was tender but with some chew (was expecting more of a melt-in-the-mouth texture though) and the veggies that it came with. It was heavily salted, too much so for me. Would've been perfect with less salt since there's already a chimichurri sauce with it. - Peanut butter tart (4.5/5)-- peanut butter lovers rejoice! The chocolate filling was rich, thick, and sweet which was complemented nicely with the whipped cream (not sweet at all). The peanut flavor really shined. The crust didn't have much of a taste by itself and was sandy in texture, not sure if on purpose or over-baked and dried out. Either way, the tart looked impressive when it arrived and was delectable-- my favorite bite of the night! Overall a nice experience! Although there was a mess up and the rest of our two salads and crab rice wasn't packed with our other food to take home; I was pretty sad about that since it was quite a bit of food (and $$). I might return for that peanut butter tart, but everything else was too heavy and too salty for me. I'm personally not a huge butter fan, but if you are, definitely make a reservation for a special occasion or date!

Eat, Drink, HTX…read more Made a reservation for a Sunday night dinner for three. The restaurant is so cute and cozy with tables and booths. Lots of TVs to watch the Olympic Games while you wait for dinner. I liked watching the open pizza oven. They make a lot of pizzas here. The Eat, Drink, HTX menus are a great way to try new restaurants while giving back to the Houston Food Bank. A starter, an entree and a dessert. $25 for dinner. So many choices on this menu. A great deal while helping out those in need. "Started" with the Turkey Samosas. Four crispy pastries that are filled with seasoned ground turkey, potatoes and parsley served with cucumber yogurt. Delicious! The Ember & Greens Soup that my family had was hot, hot, hot and so tasty. The fresh soup was filled with a blend of spinach, parsley, and cilantro with chickpeas, caramelized onions, pinto beans and quinoa. My FIL polished off his bowl! For dinner, we all had the Blackened Salmon. The salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa served on roasted carrots, broccoli and potatoes and a bed of quinoa. It was a full plate, which we all took home for dinner the next day. Note: it is quite buttery. My FIL had his butter and avocado salsa on the side which worked for him. I loved mine as is. Even though we were pretty full, we still enjoyed dessert. The tiramisu was so indulgent. Loved the layered mascarpone custard, whipped cream, coffee liqueur and coffee-soaked ladyfingers. My FLI had the Chia Seed Pudding with fresh berries. What a great meal. We had a slight hiccup where the appetizers came slightly after the main meal was served, but they were so honest about what happened that I still have to give them five stars for their food and their service. Would try them again for their generous, delicious meals. Lots of parking. Water glasses were frequently filled both with and without meals. Thank you for a really nice Sunday night dinner with family.

It was a beautiful day, so it would have been the perfect day to eat outside if you like that. I'm an eat indoors kind of person, but if you like to eat outside, they do have a few tables for that. I was meeting a friend for lunch and she suggested Ember & Green. We really couldn't decide what to order, so we decided to order a few things and share them. We started off with the Persian Cucumber Sald. It had Persian cucumbers, heirloom cherry tomatoes, red onions, and Kalamata olives with oil and lemon dressing and topped with parsley and feta cheese. Let me tell you, thats lemon dressing was delicious! It went so well with the cucumbers. Next we ordered Blackened salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa, served with charred broccolini, roasted carrots and potatoes on a bed of cilantro green pea quinoa. I'm really not a huge fan of salmon, but I'm trying to like it more by trying it different ways. The spices that they put on the salmon were really good, not too spicy, but also, not bland. It was also cooked perfectly. Oh, and that lemon butter... that lemon butter made the meal if you ask me. It was so good. So good in fact, I had to try and make salmon with lemon butter at him the very next week. Mine didn't come out as good as Ember & Greens, but it was decent. That just means that I need to leave the cooking to the professional. For dessert we decided to share the Skillet Cookie. Its a house made chocolate chip cookie baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with Amy's Mexican Vanilla Ice Cream and chocolate sauce. This was the only thing that we ordered that was a nope. I dont know what happened, but it didn't seem like it was cooked at all in the middle. We took a few bites, that was all we could eat of it. All and all, it was a good experience and I will go back. I'll just skip dessert next time.
