Northside Nachos (middle), Stir-fry (right), Carrot Cake & Cinnamon Donut (bottom left), Blackity Bowl (top left), Soup (top right)

Heck yes! So healthy, filling, and reasonably priced! Happy to see a plant based spot pop up in North! Trendy ambiance with plants and they sell bulk herbs! Their menu board changes daily and based on the time of day. Just walk up to the counter to view the menu and order there! We ordered Northside Nachos, Stir-fry, Carrot Cake, Cinnamon Donut, Blackity Bowl (basically tabbouleh with lots of hummus), 4 Tha Luv (cacao drink), and it came with fancy sauce blends! Service was great, we asked their favs and they let us know! We definitely got A LOT of food and they even threw in a free soup! The Stir-fry and Blackity Bowl were DENSE in a good way! I loved filling up on healthy takeout and not feeling like I missed out! They have smoothies and other healthy drink options. I was craving something a bit more rich and the 4 Tha Luv chocolatey hot drink did the trick! Plenty of parking in the lot behind the building off of 42nd Ave. We will be back for takeout often!

Ahhh sooo happy heal popped up on Yelp! I've been wanting to review this place for several weeks now!! A few weeks after they opened, a few friends and I stopped in for some lunch after a workout. Amazing food and amazing service!! The space felt calming and healing with all the plants and good energy around. The menu is posted on a tv near the counter and is changed daily. I ordered the jamaican jerk bowl and a fresh juice. The bowl was perfectly spiced with a delicious sauce on top. The folks behind the counter were knowledgable about the menu and excited to tell us more information about when they opened and how they've been doing since. I really hope this place is staying around for awhile!!

Tryna match ($5.55). Matcha latte had good flavor but was too sweet (even without agave syrup).

Heal is a lovely casual vegan cafe in North Minneapolis. The food is tasty, fresh and extremely affordable. I got a tryna match ($5.55) latte which had a good matcha flavor but was way too sweet (even though I asked for it without agave). The chickpea scramble ($4.44) is hearty and simple and consists of chickpeas with a tex-mex seasoning. I liked it. The northside nacho bowl ($7.77) is a fun and fresh dish, though I wish they'd put more cheese on it. The cheese was homemade and liquidy like nacho cheese should be. The temperature of the ingredients could have been modulated better, too, as the cheese was hot and the beans, onions and tomatoes were ice cold. The waffles ($4.44) were pretty good, though the syrup was more like grape juice. I added frie'd oyster shroomz ($9.99) and liked them, though they are oily and salty. Lastly, the oatmeal raisin cookie ($3.33) tasted good. I normally hate raisins in cookies, but I barely noticed them in this one. My only gripe, and it's a minor one, is that all the plates and utensils are disposable. I'd expect that in a fast food spot, but Heal isn't that at all (and nor should it be, given its nice communal vibe). I look forward to coming back and seeing what new items Heal cooks up. I'd love to see a breakfast sandwich.

OhMGEE! This is my new favorite place in the cities! Black owned AND vegan! (Possibly woman owned too??) I've been here twice now, and sadly both pop-in-quick and order to go visits...and both times I told myself I REALLLLY need to carve out some time to just go and sit in this place and soak up all the feel-good-zen vibes while sipping my juice! I'm assuming it's the owners that I chatted with at the counter but not sure- both are really sweet and friendly and the most amazing smile that lights up the soul! Just chatting with her was spirit lifting! The menu changes. I've had a few of their different fresh juices each time and LOVED them both. As well as "The 4 Tha Luv Elixir"- which is a yummy hot drink that is awesome for sexy hormone health benefits (its kind of like hot cocoa, kind of like tea). I don't know what the donuts are but they remind me of horchata -only in a donut form. Freakin' delicious! If you buy two thinking you are going to share one with someone...you better buy 3 because after eating 1, you'll find yourself secretly eating the 2nd one because they are too good to share! They also have so many fun reads on the wall as well as a shelf of great books (yes, they are available to purchase!) They also hard some fun affirmation cards at the counter last time and they let me pick a card I felt drawn to for my affirmation for the day (how can a place get any cooler than this??!!) Last time I also ordered a humus bowl and it was absolutely the best way I've ever had hummus. SO refreshing and tasty! I lol forward to seeing their ever changing menu and trying more eats! The place has tons of seating. And tons of areas that are oh so Pinterest worthy! I'm excited to bring all my close friends to this place. It's definitely one I'd love to see stick around for many years to come!

The food and smoothies are amazing! We loved the decor so much. My cousins and I were able to sit and have a great conversation for hours, the environment felt peaceful and healing. The employees are very kind as well

Normally, daily Ethiopian food that's not in the US are vegan, so what is offered here is closer to what's authentically made in Ethiopian culture. I enjoyed pretty much all the dishes I had, and I would recommend this spot to anyone who wants good vegan food. My friends had the awaze tibs, which contained seitan, a high protein meat substitute, and it was seasoned very well, having an adequate amount of spice. I ordered the mushroom tibs, and it was okay, because it tasted as if the only seasoning was salt, and it was a bit dry, which indicated that the mushrooms were overcooked. In addition to such, we had a few veggies on the samplers, including miser, ater kik, gomen, fasolia, and keysir. They all had a good amount of seasoning and in general tasted good with the injera. I would say, though, that they may have all needed a bit more mekelesha, because I have had more vibrant-tasting versions of all of those veggies elsewhere. One thing worth noting was that shiro wasn't one of the options for the veggie sampler, so I had to order a separate portion of shiro, since I considered it necessary when consuming Ethiopian food in general, and it tasted good, in a conventional manner. It seems like per the menu that they have a shiro wot now, which indicates how popular it is among customers.

When I go to new cities, I typically seek out food that is specific to the region and thus a little more interesting to me. You can get a burger anywhere, and a cheese filled patty, aka a "Juicy Lucy", didn't sound like something I needed to try. But my husband kept talking about it and really seemed bent on having one so we decided to come here to try it out. We showed up during their happy hour, from 4-5pm, and they had $5 draft beers. Score! It's a cute place with ample seating, nice natural light from the large windows, and a relaxed atmosphere. I ordered the Juicy Lucy, a burger patty stuffed with cheese and topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and pub sauce. I chose the Impossible patty version, but you can also get it with their house made black bean burger. Hubby chose the Garlic Girl, a black bean cheeseburger topped with bacon (also made in-house), berbere aioli, lettuce, and pickled onion. Each burger came with fries. Both burgers were spectacular and delicious in their own way. The bacon on hubby's burger was incredible, and his burger was rich and satisfying. By my Juicy Lucy, oh my... Every bite was a flavor explosion and intensely delicious without being a gut bomb shockingly. To top it off, the fries were super crispy and just perfect. WOW is all I can say. Note that while the prices may seem a little higher than what you might expect, Francis Burger is a no tipping establishment, as stated on their menu. For the quality of the food and the great service, it was well worth the price! I'll be back if I'm ever in this area again.f

Unfortunately I still live in beef country, so when I came to visit the cities I knew I had to come here. It was definitely a safe space and I finally felt like I belonged. To not only offer vegan and vegetarian things, but be openly proud and celebrate those things? It blows my mind. I immediately bought a "meat free" sweatshirt. I'm sure I'll catch hell for it back home but oh well! I also found vegan fish sauce which was so exciting. I have not been able to make many recipes I wanted to due to not using real fish sauce so it was great to find it here. Honestly there are so many great things to choose from here it's mind blowing. So I ordered the ribs (brought them home and need to make them still) and the teriyaki jerky. I did try the jerky and I really did enjoy the flavor but the texture is not nearly as good as, say, primal jerky, For ten bucks a bag it was just ok. For lunch I got the turkey dill havarti sandwich and it was excellent! I shared it with my vegan brother and carnivore husband and they loved it. In fact my husband finished it off and declared it incredible. I tried the italian cold cut sandwich my brother got and it was even better! I love the peppers. Another fun part of this was watching my carnivore husband get excited about ordering faux meats he wanted to try. Overall this is a great place. I think it's just going to get better and better over the years as they perfect their recipes.

The latte came garnished with rose petals and was not too sweet. It was a nice way to start my meal. Then came the sweet potatoes, and oh my God, I think they were the best sweet potatoes I've ever had. They were unbelievably, delectably sweet and cooked perfectly. They had an excellent char while being soft on the inside. And the sweetness was complemented nicely by the maple chili crisp, which had just a bit of a kick. The bison skirt steak tacos were also delicious. The bison was so tender and juicy. Full of flavor and cooked superbly. My server wasn't kidding when she said the tacos were big enough to share between a few people. I ate the tacos by myself, and I was beyond stuffed. Alas, I wasn't a big fan of the spoonbread. The flavor wasn't bad, but I didn't care for the texture, which was a little too coarse for me. The dessert was gluten-free, and I could REALLY tell. It was also too spicy for me. The spoonbread was drenched in hot honey. But the sweet potatoes, tacos, and attentive & friendly service more than made up for it. The restaurant isn't cheap (especially for a solo diner), but I've seen worse prices for worse food. And I'm eager to check out their new location the next time I'm in Minneapolis.
