Shout out for Brae and Headlines from a French woman in Seattle! Brae has been my stylist for 25 years, and my 23 year old son's for 16 years! We have been getting compliments on our haircuts in France (yes, even in Paris,) for decades, and simply could not live without Brae's ministering (to say nothing about the Brae's human touch and generous spirit.)This past year, my husband finally understood the difference between the mowings he was accustomed to and a real haircut, and he is now a Brea devotee as well. We were desperate to schedule appointments as soon as Headlines reopened. We came back to the Salon in June to be welcomed by an impeccable screening and safety protocol: waiting outside for the appointment, temperature screening, hand washing, very few people in the salon at a time, masks for everyone and immediate in-between appointments cleaning. Absolutely perfect! My husband is one of those people whose risks for complications if he catches Covid are great, and I have ABSOLUTE trust in the way Brae and the staff at Headlines are taking precautions. We are on our third appointment since the Salon reopened, and can't wait for next week's! This is small business at its best, and I hope that more Headlines Salon fans will come back to support it, its wonderful stylists and front desk staff, as well as as its retail. Vive Headlines! Vive Brae! read more

I had an excellent experience at Headlines and with both Mandy and Brooke! I will preface this by saying that I came in willing to experiment with my hair, even though I had never had my hair colored at a salon before, so I was a little bit nervous with what was going to happen. I made a free consultation to talk to a stylist about the color I desired. I saw Mandy, who pulled out a book with lots of little color swatches to help me define what I was interested in, but because of price and scheduling, I ended up booking for about a week later with Brooke. I was a little nervous, but she walked me through the process and was very soothing throughout the appointment. I went from mousy hair to a rich, much darker brown balayage that I was very satisfied with. I have read the other reviews about the overall salon service, but I have to disagree with what they say. I did have a small issue at checkout time when the front desk staff were unsure about the final price, but they checked with both Brooke and a manager to ensure that the service was priced correctly and, since checking their website again, I believe I was charged exactly right. I cannot speak to any other stylists, but since my appointment, I have recommended this salon to several friends. read more

It's been 20 years since I've had to find a new stylist, so needless to say I was very nervous about trying someone new. But from the moment I called to the minute I walked out the door, I'm glad I chose Headlines and even happier to have met Stephaney. I'm not sure I'll ever know how in the world she managed to match my color to fully cover my ~1 inch of grayish grow-out, but she did! On top of that, her cutting skills are exceptional and precise, which my pin-straight hair more or less demands. I chose Headlines for several reasons: it's close to home, it's been at U-Village for ages, it's a Bumble salon, and -- primarily -- the pictures others have shared here. Thank you to those who posted them; they gave me the confidence and reassurance I needed about going to a new place. It's a little pricier than I'm used to paying, but not unreasonably so, and given the location, the service, and Stephaney's skills, I don't really mind. I will definitely be back! read more

I have had my hair colored for about 25 years. I have long hair that is almost completely silver. I have been to several salons over the last 25 years. I feel so fortunate to find Zack M at Headlines salon. He has given me the absolute best haircut in my entire life. It simply floats. He is also is the best colorist I have had. My color usually fades at 1 month, and I usually have a "skunk stripe ". He has magically been able to color my hair such that the grey roots don't show between hair color treatments. I am truly amazed with his skill. I have been to the top-end salons and stylists/colorists in Seattle and Zack is the best that I have had. He is amazingly talented. read more

WOW!!!!!!!! I have never felt more welcomed in my life! Brae came into my work and gave me a 50% off coupon ( I would have paid full if I knew how awesome the service was going to be) When I walked in Megan greeted me with a friendly smile and offered coffee. We chatted for a bit while my stylist was finishing up with another client. Once Jared (SP) was finished he welcomed me over and was so nice! we chatted about life and he gave me some great tips regarding my thinning hair :(. Long story short this was the BEST experience I have ever had at a salon and I ABSOLUTELY will be returning for my future hair cuts! Thank you so much for the amazing experience!!! Taylor read more

All I can say is amazing. Jered has been doing my hair bi weekly for years now and all I can say is he is the best. The way he remembers what to do to my hair without me saying anything ever is astonishing. His personal approach to each client makes everyone feel like they are VIP. I have the worst stubborn kinda ethnic hair and he makes it feel like gold after he's done. The salon also has been updated in the last six months New paint, beautiful light fixtures really feels as if you are in a salon fit for the stars. I was a first time Headlines client, and the salon exceeded my expectations. Reception was very attentive, and all the stylists were kind, and seemed to be passionate about their work and their customers satisfaction. Briauna was my stylist, and she did an excellent job on my hair. We did a partial foil, and she suggested a shadow root to help obtain a more natural grow out. She gave me an awesome haircut, exactly what I asked for. She is the only stylist I've ever worked with who has been able to thin enough of my hair that it lasts for months, instead of weeks. The color came out perfect, as always. Will be back soon! read more

I went there for the second time with an open mind, as my previous stylist, Jenna no longer works there. Expecting a similar treatment, they assigned me with Brittany Garcia. She was not friendly, never smiled and cut my hair in less than 15 minutes. I did not even have a chance to open my magazine. Plus, she practically set my hair on fire when blow drying. There was smoky smells and I could see the hot steam when she was drying it. The receptionists were not friendly and not sincere. The general atmosphere feels that the place is hostile and people are not happy working there. read more

I was in need for a cut and color, and since I've been through stylist like water since my previous stylist got tired of doing hair and quit. I went in hoping for the best and expected the worst. Rachel did a great job on the hair color and since she did such a great job on the color I asked if she had time for a hair cut. PERFECT! I have thick hair and like it thinned out, most don't know how to get that done and have you hair lay right; I was thrilled I've been back several times for cut and color Rachel is the best. I didn't give 5 stars always room to improve I think. read more

Go see bri..she's amazing!!!!I will recommend people to go to see Briauna Mayfield, for those of you who would like your hair color done. She has very good customer service, good knowledge of products, friendly, keeping positive and making sure client walks out happy. May take a bit long but it is worth the wait because of how much effort and love she put into her works in making sure the customer is satisfied. Second time getting my hair done by Briauna and she did a fantastic job!!! Want your hair done right???...go to bri...she'll hook you up. read more

I was trying to explain what kind of haircut I wanted. Brook was attentive and patient while I asked for a cut that did not have a name - only a description. It was an operational definition of what it should be. She was determined and demonstrated a healthy self esteem and cut my hair to do what I wanted. I already made another appointment for late October. Confidence is a resource that is only available in the arena you are comfortable and familiar in. Without this resource she still did a masterful job. read more

Let me start off by saying Briauna is so talented and amazing at her craft, not only is she amazing at color she has a unique spine in everything she does, you can tell she takes time to making sure your demands are met! I also love how she is working on learning different hair styles for ethnic hair that alone is amazing I would highly recommend briauna she is an outstanding stylist but an even more outstanding person inside and out I will definitely be booking with her again! read more

I LOVE this salon. I have Asian hair and have never been able to find anyone that could really color my hair and not make me look goofy or fake. Luckily, my good friend she referred me to Jered who is 100% amazing. He does a wonderful job. Not only is he fun to talk to but he also listens to what YOU want and does exactly that. I have been going to him for about 2 years now and I will never go to anyone else. I highly recommend him! He is truly the best. read more

Truly a wonderful establishment. I am incredibly lazy with my hair, yet I always have an amazing job done by Zack. I have been going to headlines for two years and I wouldn't recommend any other place in Seattle. The staff is always very friendly, they offer you tea or coffee when you walk in, and I leave looking amazing. I fully recommend Zack for any and all hair emergencies, needs, or cuts. He's a lovely soul who does lovely cuts. read more

Over the past few years, I have been seeing Zack and every time I see him, my hair becomes magic. From balayage to an edgy bob cut, he is able to invoke some magnificent artistry. I recommend him, as he is very versatile in what he can accomplish. Before going to Headlines Salon, other hair stylists have messed up my hair on numerous occasions. But my hope has been renewed with this location. read more

We are excited to have discovered Rachel at Headlines. My 13 year old daughter has had her hair cut by Rachel twice now, and both times she has walked out looking great and feeling good about herself. I appreciate Rachel's skill and warm personality, as well as her knowledge about hair and ways to experiment with new styles without going over the edge. read more

I am so pleased with my haircut from Christine R today. I have short hair and my last haircut grew out really boxy. Christine asked me questions about my likes/dislikes with previous cuts, then made an assessment, and explained how she was going to cut my hair. As promised she updated my look with a modern, feminine, short style. I just love it. read more
