i came into the salon and had a consultation with a colorist. I explained what I was looking for And after I THOUGHT that I was heard, I booked an appointment. I had brassy blond grow out with very ashy natural roots. I brought pictures of what I was looking for and explained that I wanted to go blond with dimensions. The service took about 4 hours. After it was done, I didn't want to complain, because I figured I would like it better in natural light. Over the next 2 weeks, I kept feeling like something was off. The tone was wrong for my coloring. I looked washed out. No one, including my boyfriend thought that it looked blond. I called to come back in to maybe have her retone my hair. When I got in and tried to explain what I wanted, all I got was a perplexed look and no suggestions. I told her that she did a good job, but that the tone was wrong but her response felt more like she was trying to prove her own point. I was hoping for a professional recommendation to suit what I wanted. I kept saying that my tone was off, too cool. The stylist spent so much time explaining that my hair couldn't handle more highlights which I get, but she Did Not communicate that she was seeing and understanding what I wanted. It got to the point where she didn't even have time to take me that day, a wasted trip from Factoria and then back to Mercer island. I was going away the next day so I didn't have time to come back. By the way, in addition to the lack of professionalism, the woman at the front desk had anything but a genuine welcoming approach and was actually quite snotty. Long story short, I left unsatisfied and unheard after a $350 Service! I ended up going to a place in Bellevue where in 5 minutes the gal heard me. She said that the tone was off for my skin tone. She toned my hair and did a wet Balliage and it came out beautiful And perfect...just how I wanted it!!!

Cut and color!

A clean, professional salon located in U Village -- it was super easy to schedule an appointment via phone and the folks at the front desk were really sweet when checking in. The pricing is fairly reasonable, but maybe a bit of a splurge. That being said, they did a really nice job! I had Amari do a cut and color, specifically highlights. I had some old highlights that had grown out and she was able to color-match so the old and new colors blended together well. She was also super patient with me as I figured out which hair length made the most sense and I was really happy with the final product. Overall, a great experience from start to finish and I would totally see myself coming back here -- was recommended by my roommate who's had similarly good experiences here too!

Before and after where you can see I never had layers on my hair, it was thicker and same length.

I hope someone will be saved from a traumatized hair experience by reading this review. I went to the salon for a solid balayage, my hair is Asian natural black but I have been getting bleach and balayage for years (obviously not from this place). Had my hair done by stylist named Chester. Before the session: my hair was straight, same length, I have never had layers since my hair is already thin. My top was black since I last had my hair done in mid January. The process took 3 hours. After the session: the top I had it done, I lost half of the ends, it just fell off, there is now layers on my hair. The bleach was done terribly so it caused breakage and my hair was just gone. My hair is now unevenly colored, brittle and super dry. I went to the salon to speak to the owner, she and her manager Jared insisted my hair is not damaged and blamed it on growing out unevenly?!! I was really upset since my wedding is literally next month and I am now having to live with this damaged hair, they offered to refund me 50% but I requested full refund since I should not have to pay for them for damaging my hair. They didnt agree to it so now I am filing complaint with BBB, small court claim, the University Village business management.

Go see Christine!! I came in with long, thin, damaged brown hair. I wanted to lighten it up a little, get rid of the reddish tint, and cut off a decent amount. She did an amazing job by walking me through what she was doing, as well as checking in on how I was doing. She gave me tips for my finer hair, which I really appreciated. Also, not to mention she's cool. :) So down to earth and fun to chat with. Love her!

I'm gonna be very blunt here: CHRISTINE SAVED MY HAIR My last stylist completely ruined the whole balayage thing for me. Almost all of my friends have told me "wow wtf happened to ur hair" and let's just leave it at that. Anyway, Christine went in and saved the day. She blended in my all discontinuous roots and gave my hair a huge makeover. The pictures will tell the transformation better so I'm just gonna shut up now. The experience was amazing. I'm not a very talkative person in general and I hate when hair stylist keeps talking to you regardless how you clearly have no interest in carry on a conversation. Christine was very respective of my personal preference in the whole 4 hrs of hairstyling. However, she was indeed very friendly. And she'll tell you what she's doing every step of the way. If your last stylist ruined your hair too, look no further, Christine is right here. The salon itself - friendly staffs, good vibe, cute decors. Strongly recommend.

They told me there was an appointment at 10am already scheduled. I come here at 10:45am, it's closed. And now it is 11am. No one there. Kind of not cool. Was looking forward to donating my hair. I didn't receive an email or phone cancelation either. I confirmed my appointment in the email as well. My advice, if you can't show up, call me or email me. Also, it's especially not cool when it's a hair donation for a kid. I understand life happens, but I drove 1 hr for this. The least you can do is inform me of a cancelation. Also, just to add, I was also getting charged for the cut too. So the stylist was suppose to get paid/tipped.

It's been a while since I've written one of these for a haircut but this one was awesome. Andy helped me work out a plan for it and did a cut that gave my fine, very straight hair lots of movement, texture, and style even with my super low maintenance daily routine. It's been a week now since getting it cut, and sometimes when you do that first week (or even first wash) you have a moment where you're like "hey where'd all the cool haircut go, it's just mush again?" NOT SO. This one maintains great movement and texture even with just blow drying it the night before and tossing texturizer in it in the morning (which I got at a discount thanks to their welcome package). I also loved seeing all the different types of neighborhood people around--not just like fancy people getting their hair done but a really wide spectrum from older dudes to younger NB folx and femmes. TLDR: Great experience with a haircut from Andy (pic attached if you're interested) and really enjoyed the salon itself

Beverages are offered and they use great products. However my second visit was just a few days ago with Sarah. What I asked for I got the complete opposite. She gave me a blow out so my hair looked beautiful leaving but the next day washing it seeing my natural waves and curls and really inspecting the cut. I look a bit chopped. The front was not face framing instead she gave me 4 steps. The front is uneven and choppy as heck. My hair is gone so no way to fix that and wouldn't trust her to fix it tbh so I have to take an expensive loss. I cried all night yesterday just looking at the front pieces. Just embarrassing. I paid a lot and tipped very well just for it to look like an amateur cut my hair. Don't come here. I regret coming here as I looked better with my dead ends. I could've cut my own hair better which I have. This was supposed to be a pick me up to make me feel beautiful now 2 days later I am in regret not feeling like how I should and wanted. Sooooo expensive and terrible results. Also they could've been friendlier. I felt she got tired blow drying my hair. They are supposed to be knowledgeable in long, thick hair, curly hair, wavy hair. I wanted to choose this stylist due to her good reviews but I really cannot recommend her or this salon. I don't like leaving bad reviews but I am distraught. Don't come here as you will cry tears of sadness not joy.

Olivia began thoroughly washing my hair, with a nice scalp massage too. Once done and in the chair, we then discussed the style being I was looking for: long u shaped with lots of layers and face framing pieces. She used only scissors, no razors.
