I scheduled Hector and his helper to load my U-Haul so I could move some items to a vacation condo. Hector was very responsive to texts, emails and phone calls. He confirmed our date and time a few days before the move and he was very accommodating to a time change I requested. Hector and his helper showed up promptly at the designated time. They showed up with plastic wrap, tape, and rope. I provided the moving blankets but I think he provides those for local moves. I took a couple minutes to show them what needed to be moved and they got to work very quickly and efficiently. Everything was packed neatly and tightly in the U-Haul in about 2 hours. I then asked him if he could move a very heavy sofa sleeper from an upstairs bedroom to a downstairs bedroom. He and his partner measured and tried to make it work but determined that it wouldn't be able to fit around the tight corner in order to get it into the bedroom. I, in no way, thought that he was trying to get of lifting that heavy son of a gun by saying it wouldn't fit. My husband had already said that it probably wouldn't fit into the bedroom. Hector offered to bring it downstairs to try and move it into the bedroom and move it back upstairs again if it wouldn't fit. I politely declined but I greatly admired his determination to try and move it into the bedroom if that's what I really wanted. Once we got to our final destination, everything arrived in one piece and not a single thing was broken, cracked, or scratched. My 12 year old son was in charge of removing all the plastic wrap from the furniture items and he commented on how much plastic was wrapped around everything. I'm not a big fan of moving but if I ever need to move again I will use Hector and his crew. read more

Best moving experience I ever had! Needed a labor only service since I needed my two 26ft truck Uhall unloaded in the late afternoon. I called a few different companies and they all referred me to Headfirst Movers. Hector was the person I talked to and had me on the calendar ready with four movers at a 4 pm evening start time. Man do these guys work hard! My four bedroom, second story home, garage and patio furniture was safely unloaded in four hours. I also had a 400lbs safe that needed to go in the garage. No problem!!! It seemed like they didn't talk to each other at all, well experience and respectful moving crew. Hector, David, Beto and Robbie, 10 stars all the way! read more

Search no more! These guys are truly the best in town! My first movers no called no showed and luckily I found Headfirst Movers on short notice. They were at my location within 2 hours ready to load my ABF trailer. Can't remember all the names but Hector was in charge. Amazing team that he's running. Can't thank you guys enough. read more

I contacted Hector over at Headfirst Movers for loading up a Pod container. For the stuff I had he was confident that my stuff would fit in a 16ft Pod and would take about 3 hours with him and his partner. On the day of the move, Hector and David showed up 5 minutes early and ready to work. Wrapped all my furniture in plastic shrink wrap and started to play Tetris. All my stuff was loaded dead on in 3 hours with room to spare. They provide tie down rope to secure the load at no extra cost. Everything went perfect! Great job guys! I will contact you when I'm ready in 3 months to unload. read more

Hector and David were incredible! Hector used to be a professional piano mover and really knows his stuff. They packed everything with supplies that they brought with them and even left some for us after they left. Everything was packed efficiently and was done quickly. Amazing service! Hector confirmed my moving date well in advance and again on the day, reassuring me who was going to be doing the move. The 2 guys were very careful when taking beds apart and packing all so well. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them! read more

Headfirst Movers loaded my full size POD in under three hours. Hector and Bruce did a great job playing tetris and making everything fit with no damage to any of my furniture. 2 bedroom house, fridge, gun safe, garage, 50+ boxes. Lots of stuff! Highly recommend these guys. read more

Its always hard when moving to really trust a good company to move your personal things. I heard about head first movers so i decided to try them out. Wow they were extra careful with all my things did the move quick and clean. I defenitly reccommend this company for all your moving duties. Plus the guys that move your stuff are so nice and there reasonable compared to all the expensive other companies out there. read more

BIG, BIG thank you to the HeadFirst team. They were fast, friendly, careful...I could not say more good things about this team. I have had quite a bit of experience with movers in Pacific Beach and these guys are beyond the best. Thanks again! Great, great job! read more

I was very satisfied with Headfirst's services. We had many heavy furniture items, several of which were delicate antiques. The crew professionally prepared the furniture by wrapping and padding it before moving it. They then were able to move it out and in without any damage to the furniture or property. I was impressed with their efficiency. Particularly with how they were able to maximize the space in the moving truck so that there were no wasted trips between destinations. Additionally, Headfirst's crew hustled all day long, they didn't waste time or slack off at all--they skipped lunch and got our move done on time. Hector and David were first rate and professional. read more

I contacted Hradfirst Movers after reading all the glowing reviews and I am glad I did. I had a very short notice move and they were able to accommodate me in my time frame. Hector and David arrived on time and set to work immediately. I had several very heavy awkward pieces of furniture they handled it with ease. They wrapped everything and moved it carefully. They were able to fit three rooms of furniture into a storage shed by breaking it down and putting in like a jigsaw puzzle. In fact there is still room for more in that shed. Headfirst Movers work quickly and efficiently. No messing around talking or extending the time by moving slowly. They get it done!! If I ever need anything else moved I would call them. First rate and I don't think they charge enough. Great job Hector and David!! read more

Wow! You can't get better than Hector, Felix, and David. Folks, if you are looking for moving help - David and Felix cannot be beat! They are professional, considerate, very good at their jobs, and overall genuinely nice guys! I called Hector, who's company was recommended to me by another moving company because they could not do my move on a specific date. Hector was quick to respond, and informed me he had other moves that day but will try and squeeze me in anyway. He called later and said he will be sending his best guys Felix and David! I did not have a lot of furniture to move into my house, but they were heavy and expensive pieces so I was a bit worried. When they arrived, both guys introduced themselves to me and got on the job in no time- they were very careful with my furniture. I was surprised to see how they could easily lift things which I thought needed double the amount of guys to lift! After they moved the furniture to the appropriate places in the house, they removed the blankets ad wrap and placed them in the proper areas, then proceeded to install the furniture legs, etc. My father in law who is very much a handyman wanted to get involved and help ( even though I told him I am paying them to do this and he really doesn't need to). Felix and David were very respectful and worked with him, even though they could handle it themselves as they carried their own tools and were knowledgeable of how to put the furniture together. Thanks Hector for providing a quick solution to my needs, and an awesome moving experience! Please pat your guys on the back! read more

My wife and I moved to San Diego from the Philadelphia area with our 3 young kids (oldest 5), and working with Hector and his team was truly a bright spot in stressful, hectic, cross-country move. Junior and Abraham arrived on time and dug right into unpacking our 14ft. of trailer, all the while listening to our direction and negotiating what was clearly a hazardous floor to ceiling pack job with skill. Highly recommend their services for anyone in need of exceptional moving/packing help. Will absolutely lean on Hector and his team again for any future moving needs here in San Diego! read more

These guys are great! They work hard and are fast. They are also very careful when they are packing items. They also moved me on one of the hottest days of the year without one complaint. My move ended up being a much greater than I anticipated and they handled it effortlessly! They were also much less expensive than their competitors. I would use them again and continue to recommend them. read more

I used Headfirst Movers for my inner complex move last week and they were amazing. I had to move from the 1st floor to the 3rd floor in the same building. I did not need a truck, just the muscle! Hector and David were great! Moved everything I had in under 3 hours! All stairs and no elevator! No complaints from them at all and I have really heavy bedroom furniture which they fully padded. I couldn't of done this move without them! Thanks guys! read more

Can't recommend these guys enough. They really came through and made our move one of the easiest we've had. We set everything up last minute as it was something of an emergency move, but Hector was top notch. He showed up 15 minutes early and started working at 10am on the dot. He and his one helper emptied our top floor apartment in Carlsbad and loaded everything into the new one in La Costa and were done by 3. With the cost of the UHaul and paying these guys, we saved over $100 from what I was quoted by a few full service moving companies that bring a truck. If you're moving around town and need some hard workers to do the heavy lifting, definitely call Hector! read more

Headfirst Movers did a excellent job moving my stuff into a 14ft truck i rented. I had a great job opportunity in L.A so i had to move out of San Diego ASAP! Ive never had to use a moving service before since i had my friends help out whenever i move but since this was so short notice i had no other choice! I found Hector's service on the internet and gave him a call on a Friday night. He quickly answered and after going over details, Hector had a open spot for me Monday morning at 7am. Great rates & references so i was happy he could help me out on short notice... Hector and his partner Bruce arrived to my 1 bedroom apartment Monday morning about 10 minutes before 7am ready to move me out. They brought dollies to make things easier and had shrink wrap to better protect my furniture. Some of my bedroom furniture had to be disassembled which they had no trouble doing! Everything went perfect and i was on my way to L.A by 9am! There was no surprises on the bill and i had no trouble tipping these guys for the awesome job they did. Thank you so much Hector & Bruce for moving me on short notice. I recommend your great service to anyone! read more

I just wanted to come on here and and quickly let everyone know what a great moving company HEAD FIRST is. When I called them for a quote they immediately worked with me on a reasonable price for my job, they were quick to start, reliable, trustworthy, and efficient.. Hector was one of the owners, I believed, and was one of the nicest guys you could meet. They are worth every penny! If I ever need movers or strong men, I will definitely always call HEAD FIRST!!! read more

Headfirst movers is amazing. Our family takes great pride in our furniture and we wanted everything to be carefully moved and protected. Hector, David, Robert, and Manesh were the best. They wrapped each piece carefully but quickly. Everything was moved in perfect condition. There is a reason they get amazing reviews on yelp - we found them here and couldn't be happier with the service they provided. They made the stress of moving so much easier by putting all of the weight on their backs (literally). Thanks again, guys! read more

This is two years late, which should add to my testimony about the quality of service I received from these guys. I had a tough move to make with half of my things being in an upstairs apartment and have in a storage unit. I couldn't afford a moving company to actually move me across the country so I rented a truck and hired these guys to load the truck. I worked with Hector (the owner?) and he was amazing to work with. He accommodated everything I needed to make this move work (logistics were tricky) and he gave me a very fair price. 3 of them packed the 16' truck so efficiently and so quickly it blew my mind! I had to worry about the truck slipping on ice and snow with some fragile antiques and art work, plus I was worried I wouldn't be able to fit everything into the truck. They were miracle workers!!! People at the other end of my move were astonished at the quality of packing, how well all my things were protected and what they were able to fit into my truck - with space left over even! These guys were cheerful, worked crazy fast, were very professional and simply amazing to work with. I apologize to Hector for the long delay in posting this recommendation - life was hectic when I moved and I got involved with my new life. But he so deserves this recommendation that it always festered in my mind that I needed to post this. I can't recommend these guys strongly enough. It was a pleasure, and a relief, to do business with them. read more

Hector was great. Called me back right away when I left him a voice mail and was very easy to set up an appointment for the move with him. He was really polite and prompt with everything. When it came to moving day, he was really careful with all of my stuff and worked very hard, never taking breaks. Very diligent. The only problem that I had with Headfirst Movers was the other person that Hector brought with him. He told one of my roommates how pretty she is and how he thought her curves were very pretty (while making hourglass figure shapes with his hands). He then started telling me about how pretty she is and how "she looks like one of those girls from Fast and the Furious if she got all dressed up" and then went on to say "but I have a girlfriend. She's Asian too!" Are you serious?? "She's Asian too?" What the hell is that supposed to mean? Are we all the same??? And then he commented about how he didn't realize that all Asians wear sandals after noticing that both me, my boyfriend, and my two roommates happened to all be wearing sandals. He went on to say "my girlfriend wears sandals too" (remember, his ASIAN girlfriend). So apparently he runs into five Asians in his lifetime wearing sandals and now the entire Asian population runs around in sandals. Hector was amazing. The other guy was a hard worker and his lifting abilities were really impressive, but I think the company would benefit if he kept his mouth shut if all he can say are ignorant/borderline racist comments. They did a great job, I just think he needs to learn what is and isn't appropriate to say while working. All in all, I recommend Headfirst Movers because their prices are fair and they are very hard working. Just don't wear sandals if you're Asian because you'll end up perpetuating some strange stereotype. read more

My movers were Jr and Robert. They were friendly and careful with the furniture - they did everything right, but they were SLOW. My girlfriend, who was paying for the move, was pulling her hair out. If they were quicker we could have easily done the move in 2 hours, but we ended up doing it in three. On the plus side, when my girlfriend called and complained, they refunded the third hour. So, 4 stars for the move and refund - minus one star because they were moving so slow... ...Just my two cents. read more

I had a great experience with this moving company. They were on time, careful and professional. I will use them again on my next move.

Hector and David loaded our PODS for us when we moved back to Florida. We were amazed at how efficient they were in making good use of all the available space. It was obvious to us that they are experts in this field. Watching them take such great measures to ensure our things were securely packed gave us a huge sense of relief knowing they would not be damaged during the long trip across the country. I would recommend using this company to anyone in need of movers for loading and unloading services. read more

A friend of mine referred me to Hector and his crew. I scheduled them about two weeks in advance of our move. They were absolutely awesome. They showed up on time, worked their hearts out for seven hours, and took the most professional care in moving our furniture. Jose, in particular, was truly impressive. The way he packed every inch of the moving truck, to where absolutely nothing budged during the drive, was amazing. I would highly recommend them. read more

we've used a few different moving companies in the past and by far these guys are the best. they respond quickly to your inquiries, are very professional and friendly. hector and bruce showed up on time. our move took 5 1/2 hours and they didn't even take any breaks. they used shrink wrap and padding to wrap up all of our furniture. nothing was damaged. they made sure they didn't scratch the tile or wood flooring and were extremely careful when they moved our piano...at no extra cost. hector and bruce were efficient and fast. we couldn't have been happier with their service. their rates are a lot cheaper than other companies. read more

I called Hector when another mover was too busy to schedule me and he suggested Headfirst. He was very helpful and pleasant to talk to. He went around with me for over a month --I kept changing dates while I was having a hard time finding a place. Hector stuck with me, but when I finally got a firm date to move they were booked up. I would have used them in a heart beat, because the customer service was so good. read more

We've now used Hector and David 3 times moving within San Diego. In addition to being friendly and on time, they always do a great job with our stuff. This review is long overdue. Used them back in 2015 when I moved to SD for college. Hector and his guy were awesome, super efficient and were done within a couple of hours. They unloaded the uhaul and actually sat things in each room as the boxes were labeled and set up the bed. Their prices are more than fair too. Next time I move I'll be sure to give them a call. read more

I hired these guys in May to help with a move. It was my first time hiring movers, but since it was my 3rd move in 3 years, I didn't feel right asking my friends and family to help me move AGAIN. I didn't know what to expect because we've always handled the moving process ourselves and never even considered hiring professionals because it is so pricey. These guys made it so easy that I was happy to fork over the cash plus tip. They were so fast and took great care of my stuff. They finished moving everything in so fast, that there was extra time leftover on the 4 hour minimum I had booked. They didn't stand around killing time, but set up all my furniture how and where I wanted it. As soon as I asked them to do something I thought would keep them busy for at least 30 minutes, they were back asking for more to do. They assembled my complicated IKEA four poster bed and had my million pound tempurpedic mattress all set up on it in less than 15 minutes. This is something that usually takes me about an hour and fifteen minutes. I was super impressed with how hardworking and professional they were. They were responsive when I had a questions before the move or needed to make a change in the time and were always polite. It was hard to choose a moving company because there are so many with good reviews, but for the price, these guys nailed it. I will never consider moving without professional help again and I will never have to call anyone else. I did all the research so you don't have to. Go with Headfirst Movers! You will not be disappointed. read more

This review is long overdue. Over a month ago we had a last minute move that had to take place due to our place being flooded by the recent storms. We had no choice but to transfer into a new apt. I contacted Hector about moving some very heavy furniture for us extreamly last minute. Without hesitation he scheduled us and came out right away. I had absolutely nothing in boxes and the place was a mess from the flood. He and David were amazing!! They arrived at our place at 8:00am and started immediately. I wasn't expecting them to do more then move our 3 pieces of furniture because it was upstairs and just one of the pieces was over 250lbs. I was in shock how fast Hector and David were. They moved just those pieces in about 30 mins. They didn't care that nothing was boxed up or anything. They just grabbed stuff and went. They even brought their own tools and were helping to take apart stuff to carry over. I had my whole 2 bedroom apt moved over in 2 1/2 hours!! With nothing even packed! I will without a doubt hire this company again. And I truly recommend this company to anyone. Very nice guys. Thank you again Hector and David! read more

Hector and his team are awesome! They showed up on time and worked fast, yet carefully, to unpack 2 large container units into our new home. Will definitely recommend you to others and will use you again. read more

So I waited last minute to find movers. I just needed help moving my stuff from the 2nd floor apt into my moving truck. These guys were great and very affordable...cheapest rates I found and no hidden prices (stair fees, awkward object fees, etc..). They showed up on time, worked fast and wrapped up all my stuff with wrapping they brought. They got the job done quick and I remained stress free. When searching for movers, Head first movers were the only ones to pick up the phone and return my call! They also were so great as to be able to come the next day...definitely short notice. And were really nice, too and didn't even balk when my mother asked them to rearrange the heavy objects in the uhaul to her liking (strategically moved so more stuff could fit). I really appreciate everything these guys did and how they helped me have a worry free move. read more
