Best moving experience I ever had! Needed a labor only service since I needed my two 26ft truck Uhall unloaded in the late afternoon. I called a few different companies and they all referred me to Headfirst Movers. Hector was the person I talked to and had me on the calendar ready with four movers at a 4 pm evening start time. I scheduled Hector and his helper to load my U-Haul so I could move some items to a vacation condo. Hector was very responsive to texts, emails and phone calls. He confirmed our date and time a few days before the move and he was very accommodating to a time change I requested. Hector and his helper showed up promptly at the designated time. They showed up with plastic wrap, tape, and rope. I provided the moving blankets but I think he provides those for local moves. I took a couple minutes to show them what needed to be moved and they got to work very quickly and efficiently. Everything was packed neatly and tightly in the U-Haul in about 2 hours. I then asked him if he could move a very heavy sofa sleeper from an upstairs bedroom to a downstairs bedroom. He and his partner measured and tried to make it work but determined that it wouldn't be able to fit around the tight corner in order to get it into the bedroom. I, in no way, thought that he was trying to get of lifting that heavy son of a gun by saying it wouldn't fit. My husband had already said that it probably wouldn't fit into the bedroom. Hector offered to bring it downstairs to try and move it into the bedroom and move it back upstairs again if it wouldn't fit. I politely declined but I greatly admired his determination to try and move it into the bedroom if that's what I really wanted. Once we got to our final destination, everything arrived in one piece and not a single thing was broken, cracked, or scratched. My 12 year old son was in charge of removing all the plastic wrap from the furniture items and he commented on how much plastic was wrapped around everything. I was very satisfied with Headfirst's services. We had many heavy furniture items, several of which were delicate antiques. The crew professionally prepared the furniture by wrapping and padding it before moving it. They then were able to move it out and in without any damage to the furniture or property. I was impressed with their efficiency. Particularly with how they were able to maximize the space in the moving truck so that there were no wasted trips between destinations. Additionally, Headfirst's crew hustled all day long, they didn't waste time or slack off at all--they skipped lunch and got our move done on time. I contacted Hradfirst Movers after reading all the glowing reviews and I am glad I did. I had a very short notice move and they were able to accommodate me in my time frame. Hector and David arrived on time and set to work immediately. I had several very heavy awkward pieces of furniture they handled it with ease. They wrapped everything and moved it carefully. They were able to fit three rooms of furniture into a storage shed by breaking it down and putting in like a jigsaw puzzle. In fact there is still room for more in that shed. Headfirst Movers work quickly and efficiently. No messing around talking or extending the time by moving slowly. They get it done!! If I ever need anything else moved I would call them. Can't recommend these guys enough. They really came through and made our move one of the easiest we've had. We set everything up last minute as it was something of an emergency move, but Hector was top notch. He showed up 15 minutes early and started working at 10am on the dot. He and his one helper emptied our top floor apartment in Carlsbad and loaded everything into the new one in La Costa and were done by 3. With the cost of the UHaul and paying these guys, we saved over $100 from what I was quoted by a few full service moving companies that bring a truck. This is two years late, which should add to my testimony about the quality of service I received from these guys. I had a tough move to make with half of my things being in an upstairs apartment and have in a storage unit. I couldn't afford a moving company to actually move me across the country so I rented a truck and hired these guys to load the truck. I worked with Hector (the owner?) and he was amazing to work with. He accommodated everything I needed to make this move work (logistics were tricky) and he gave me a very fair price. 3 of them packed the 16' truck so efficiently and so quickly it blew my mind! I had to worry about the truck slipping on ice and snow with some fragile antiques and art work, plus I was worried I wouldn't be able to fit everything into the truck. They were miracle workers!!! People at the other end of my move were astonished at the quality of packing, how well all my things were protected and what they were able to fit into my truck - with space left over even! These guys were cheerful, worked crazy fast, were very professional and simply amazing to work with. I apologize to Hector for the long delay in posting this recommendation - life was hectic when I moved and I got involved with my new life. But he so deserves this recommendation that it always festered in my mind that I needed to post this. I can't recommend these guys strongly enough. Headfirst Movers did a excellent job moving my stuff into a 14ft truck i rented. I had a great job opportunity in L.A so i had to move out of San Diego ASAP! Ive never had to use a moving service before since i had my friends help out whenever i move but since this was so short notice i had no other choice! I found Hector's service on the internet and gave him a call on a Friday night. He quickly answered and after going over details, Hector had a open spot for me Monday morning at 7am. Great rates & references so i was happy he could help me out on short notice... Hector and his partner Bruce arrived to my 1 bedroom apartment Monday morning about 10 minutes before 7am ready to move me out. They brought dollies to make things easier and had shrink wrap to better protect my furniture. Some of my bedroom furniture had to be disassembled which they had no trouble doing! Everything went perfect and i was on my way to L.A by 9am! There was no surprises on the bill and i had no trouble tipping these guys for the awesome job they did. Hector was great. Called me back right away when I left him a voice mail and was very easy to set up an appointment for the move with him. He was really polite and prompt with everything. When it came to moving day, he was really careful with all of my stuff and worked very hard, never taking breaks. Very diligent. The only problem that I had with Headfirst Movers was the other person that Hector brought with him. He told one of my roommates how pretty she is and how he thought her curves were very pretty (while making hourglass figure shapes with his hands). He then started telling me about how pretty she is and how "she looks like one of those girls from Fast and the Furious if she got all dressed up" and then went on to say "but I have a girlfriend. She's Asian too!" Are you serious?? "She's Asian too?" What the hell is that supposed to mean? Are we all the same??? And then he commented about how he didn't realize that all Asians wear sandals after noticing that both me, my boyfriend, and my two roommates happened to all be wearing sandals. He went on to say "my girlfriend wears sandals too" (remember, his ASIAN girlfriend). So apparently he runs into five Asians in his lifetime wearing sandals and now the entire Asian population runs around in sandals. Hector was amazing. The other guy was a hard worker and his lifting abilities were really impressive, but I think the company would benefit if he kept his mouth shut if all he can say are ignorant/borderline racist comments. They did a great job, I just think he needs to learn what is and isn't appropriate to say while working. All in all, I recommend Headfirst Movers because their prices are fair and they are very hard working. Just don't wear sandals if you're Asian because you'll end up perpetuating some strange stereotype. read more

My movers were Jr and Robert. They were friendly and careful with the furniture - they did everything right, but they were SLOW. My girlfriend, who was paying for the move, was pulling her hair out. If they were quicker we could have easily done the move in 2 hours, but we ended up doing it in three. On the plus side, when my girlfriend called and complained, they refunded the third hour. So, 4 stars for the move and refund - minus one star because they were moving so slow... ...Just my two cents. read more

I hired these guys in May to help with a move. It was my first time hiring movers, but since it was my 3rd move in 3 years, I didn't feel right asking my friends and family to help me move AGAIN. I didn't know what to expect because we've always handled the moving process ourselves and never even considered hiring professionals because it is so pricey. These guys made it so easy that I was happy to fork over the cash plus tip. They were so fast and took great care of my stuff. They finished moving everything in so fast, that there was extra time leftover on the 4 hour minimum I had booked. They didn't stand around killing time, but set up all my furniture how and where I wanted it. As soon as I asked them to do something I thought would keep them busy for at least 30 minutes, they were back asking for more to do. They assembled my complicated IKEA four poster bed and had my million pound tempurpedic mattress all set up on it in less than 15 minutes. This is something that usually takes me about an hour and fifteen minutes. I was super impressed with how hardworking and professional they were. They were responsive when I had a questions before the move or needed to make a change in the time and were always polite. It was hard to choose a moving company because there are so many with good reviews, but for the price, these guys nailed it. I will never consider moving without professional help again and I will never have to call anyone else. I did all the research so you don't have to. Go with Headfirst Movers! This review is long overdue. Over a month ago we had a last minute move that had to take place due to our place being flooded by the recent storms. We had no choice but to transfer into a new apt. I contacted Hector about moving some very heavy furniture for us extreamly last minute. Without hesitation he scheduled us and came out right away. I had absolutely nothing in boxes and the place was a mess from the flood. He and David were amazing!! They arrived at our place at 8:00am and started immediately. I wasn't expecting them to do more then move our 3 pieces of furniture because it was upstairs and just one of the pieces was over 250lbs. I was in shock how fast Hector and David were. They moved just those pieces in about 30 mins. They didn't care that nothing was boxed up or anything. They just grabbed stuff and went. They even brought their own tools and were helping to take apart stuff to carry over. I had my whole 2 bedroom apt moved over in 2 1/2 hours!! With nothing even packed! So I waited last minute to find movers. I just needed help moving my stuff from the 2nd floor apt into my moving truck. These guys were great and very affordable...cheapest rates I found and no hidden prices (stair fees, awkward object fees, etc..). They showed up on time, worked fast and wrapped up all my stuff with wrapping they brought. They got the job done quick and I remained stress free. When searching for movers, Head first movers were the only ones to pick up the phone and return my call! They also were so great as to be able to come the next day...definitely short notice. And were really nice, too and didn't even balk when my mother asked them to rearrange the heavy objects in the uhaul to her liking (strategically moved so more stuff could fit).
