This the spot to get them good ole Mexican snacks! My faves are elote en vaso con todo and agua nieve de mango con chamoy

Coming from LA we know elotes very well and the corn here is very hard, it's suppose to be soft

I really like the place. You'll find good Mexican treats such as Rusas or tostiloco here and they are actually pretty tasty. My only complaint is that you will stand in a long and slow line..you will usually have to wait 5-6 minutes to place your order and then another 3-5 minutes to wait for your order depending on the item you selected. read more

Hay Elotes - Menu - Desserts Near Me - Austin, Texas

This place was recommended to us by a friend... but No just No.... smh. It's terrible sorry... not sorry. Everything over priced, elote in a cup too tangy too much lemon, they use the white corn which is a no no for me. If I knew it was the white corn I would of not ordered that. Ordered a chamoyada which also sucked. If you guys think this is good do yourself a favor and go to Houston. They have way more places with actually good Mexican snacks. I'm most likely never going back...ever. read more

If I could give this place a 0 I would. Here's my story: I've been to their 7th street place and let me tell you they deserve 10 stars but this one.... DONT GO. So it's a Sunday afternoon only about 6 people total in the room. The lady that took my order was really distracted and would space off as I was talking. She doesn't ask my name or give me a receipt. My friends go next and we take a seat. 20 minutes later, my friends get their food and mine is still no where to be seen. I step up and tell them that I ordered before my friends and my order isn't out yet. They look it up in the system, and find it. Another 15 minutes later THEY HAND ME THE WRONG THINGS. I Tell them that's not what I ordered and another 10 minutes I FINALLY get my food. Waited 45 minutes for nothing. NO apologies they didn't even acknowledge me. They did however get annoyed and rolled their eyes when I told them they got my order wrong. Super super rude and disrespectful never coming here again. read more

This place is so under rated! Best consome in town, hands down! The queso taco is amazing and not super greasy like a lot of the places Ive gone to. Homemade corn tortillas! My friend and I shared a carne asada torta and it was unbelievable! If you like REAL Mexican food and street snacks, this is the place to go! I've been to all of the "5 star places" and have been super disappointed. This place hits the spot! read more

After 25 minutes in an empty store I got the wrong order and charged TWICE for one item, one item was given to me incorrectly and when I got a refund for the double charge I was given cash but not the correct amount. The last item ( a large fruit cup and the mango wasn't even ripe) took a good 15 minutes. When I told the girl at the register I was double charged and one of my items was incorrectly made she told the other woman working I was lying in Spanish so that I couldn't understand her but quickly changed her tone when I responded in Spanish. I've visited other locations but I will not be visiting this one anymore. read more

Food is okay. I took two stars off for the following reasons: 1) Tables are dirty and sticky. 2) The woman with the black hair and thick eyebrows tends to pressure customers into giving a tip every transaction. Mind you, there are no waitresses and no one serves you at your table. If you speak Spanish, she'll even point out the area where you can leave a tip. Every time I've gone she mentions the tip. She should worry about keeping the place clean instead. The location at 7th street has a better environment and the staff is super nice. read more

This place is unclean upon first entering. Floors were sticky and dirty and tables unwiped. We had already ordered when I took a look at yelp reviews and found that one Yelper had found a roach in their dessert! With all the signs telling me to run away, I stuck with it and waited for our mangonadas. All the signs were right. At first taste of the mangonada it was not cold and had a weird texture to it. We were extremely disappointed. read more

I was just in this place to purchase a couple of fruit cups no one acknowledge me because I'm black and was with my Hispanic husband. I will never go there again. It just shows that racism is still alive and kicking in Austin. Thanks because I will never go there again. You won't get any of my hard earned money. read more

Not only was I impressed with the quality but the service was spot on for just one girl and she made my cups perfect. I asked for just a little spice and the blend throughout the cup was on point. The corn was great too. read more

5 stars for the food, 1 star for the wait. I stopped by on Sunday afternoon and they told me it would be about a 15-20 minute wait. One hour later (not exaggerating), I got my order. Was it worth the wait? Yes. Would I do it again? Only if I brought a book or I went with a friend and we had an hour's worth of catching up to do :) Their mangonada was amazing and their corn in a cup was really good too. read more

Went here yesterday while the hubby and son went to get haircuts. When first entering, this place has a weird smell to it. Not a good one, I was a little turned off. But when I looked at the menu, they had so many overwhelming mixed things which made me understand the smell. I went straight to what I know. It reminded me of Cali, fruit cup. Yup, fruit cup with chile y limon. SO good! Reminded me of California and can't wait to go back. But for now, Hay Elotes is awesome. Btw, I did try an elote. It's elote in a cup!! Really good! I will def be here again!! and again! and again! read more

Came here for a tasty treat, instead what I got was everything I DIDN'T ask for. First the cashier could not properly communicate with me as she did not speak much English, I would speak to her in English and she would speak back in Spanish; clearly I don't speak Spanish, customers should be accommodated. Second, I ordered an ice cream cone with a scoop of chocolate and vanilla; I was told they were out of vanilla so i requested chocolate and strawberry. After THIRTY minutes of waiting (because the employees were busy talking and dancing rather than working with a LONG line out the door) my order came in a foam cup NOT a cone and it came with chocolate and coconut ice cream.. um what!? Third it smelled like a public restroom in there and the tables were disgustingly dirty. I DO NOT RECCOMMEND THIS LOCATION AT ALL. AMONG CARELESS MISTAKES AND SANITARY ISSUES ALONG WITH EVERYTHING ELSE LISTED. read more

I really wanted to give this place a try, but after standing at the counter for over 5 minutes, neither of the two staff greeted me or said anything. I wont beg you to take my money. I simply left. read more

So good, reminds me of the elotes in Jaurez Mexico. Lots of delicious foods and a nice lounging area. Come through.

Good yummy things... long wait and the place looks a little run down... needs more maintenance!

Meh I did not like this place. Was really excited to discover a place with elote in the name because it really seems like Austin is lacking in good elote. The employees don't know any English which doesn't bother me but I was just extremely disappointed in their elote. It is made with white corn which was extremely dry and made it impossible to mix the cheese and chili. Was only able to eat a couple bites before I had to toss it out. read more

We got the mango hill and it was really good.. But the service sucked. The lady at the cashier looked me up and down and just stood there staring. The whole experience was a bit awkward and made my hubby uncomfortable lol I don't know what her deal was? She didn't seem to speak English which is totally fine but being rude is a totally different thing. We will not be back. read more

Good stuff. The line can get pretty crazy but at the end of the day it is well worth it. You will not regret it. My goal in life right now is to try everything on their menu. read more

Great desert place for day of ice cream of sugar delights I would definitely recommend for any kind of snack. Friendly staff affordable and snacks and just great will. Come again. read more

I only came here for the corn, and the name doesn't disappoint! They have authentic tasting "corn in a cup" which was exactly what I was craving when I heard about this place. I got there during 8pm and I actually walked in during a rush. I waited in line for a good 10 minutes before being able to place my order. But you could tell the servers were doing there best to get to everybody as quickly as possible. They serve ice cream as well, a variety of different flavors. You can have scoops into a plastic container to take home or have it the old fashioned way on a cone. I ordered the vanilla which was pretty standard, nothing too special. A cute little restaurant, I'll definitely be back when I'm craving corn in a cup. read more

I come regularly because I love what they're serving, such as the coconada and mango hill. I've had better elote but theirs does the trick well enough. The only reason they get 3 stars is because they're preferential to Spanish speakers. I only ever visit if I'm going with Spanish speaking friends, or else I receive unpleasant service. read more

So the lady taking my order had an attitude and seeing that I don't speak Spanish I didn't bother asking her any questions about the menu. I ordered a cup of ice cream since I was in a rush even though I came for corn and the lady who took my order rang me up and instead of making my order she walked to the back to talk with the other ladies. I was on the verge of just leaving 5 minutes in but then she came back out helped make another order then finally gave me my two little scoops of ice cream. I'll stick to my fruit cup place on braker at least they're friendly and greet me with a smile regardless of the fact that I don't speak Spanish. read more

So far this place has been great with food and the drinks but the employees are too focus on other things than the customers as well give attitude towards others and the reason I'm giving three stars is everything is perfect but the employees could be better. read more

We have visited this location before many times, usually very busy. On Saturday afternoon, around 1pm, we walked in to an empty restaurant. The tables were visibly dirty, the restaurant smelled like it was mopped using a dirty mop head. We should have turned around and left. Ordered a large horchata (which they rarely have), a small helote, cochinadas, and a bottle of water. Used their restroom. No toilet paper, no paper towels, and hand blower was broken. I had to wipe down a table, myself, in order to sit down and eat. There were 3 women working there at the time, in an empty restaurant. Tasted my horchata - eh, not good. Disappointed, I took a 2nd sip - noticed something dark under the cup lid. Opened the lid, and found a huge bug (dead moth, I think) at the top of the drink, resting on the ice, just under the lid. I asked for a refund in english, in Spanish - and was told "I don't understand". Even though the woman was horrified when she saw the bug for herself. I demanded a refund, no longer asked, so she took the drink to the kitchen, had a meeting with the 2 other women and came back to give me $3.25 in cash, despite the fact that I paid by credit card. Too bad I couldn't get a refund on my tip. Too bad I didn't take a picture of the bug to post on here, or to show the health department when I call them today. By the way, I didn't even receive an apology. And the worst part - none of them discussed cleaning out the ice machine or emptying the horchata container. Nothing, no fix, just back to doing something in the kitchen. We lost our appetites, threw away all of the food that we purchased, I wiped down our table again - and we left. At least there was one clean table for the next customer. You're welcome. read more

Have tried this place before but downtown and this was my first here. They're rude and my order was incorrect. She took the item I ordered and re did it and threw the other ones away. It was their fault they messed it up for not communicating with each other. They do not know how to treat customers. read more

I used to love this place but they recently changed their system in how they take orders, I ended up waiting 30 minutes for an ice cream cone. I would recommend Las Mangoneadeas on Airport instead. read more

I went in with my family and we got the fruit cup, waffle cone, and corn cup. The food was great - once we got service. We stood there for about 5 minutes waiting for someone to come to the front. A couple came in as soon as a server came to the front and she immediately started helping them while we were still standing there. The waiting sucks and I sure was annoyed about them helping others while I clearly was ahead in line BUT the food was worth the wait. read more

no experience to meet people to pay by card and they did not know how to spend the wondering and the lady who checked me asked his companion and ignored him, he was singing quietly. I do not not like the deal personally read more

Mango hills are my favorite, would give a 5 star if employees were at the very least a little more welcoming/ friendly.
