I'm a fan of Hawaiian Time. I've been going here since high school and it's bee pretty cool seeing them expand and flourish in our community. Yes, they're on the higher priced side I'd say for what you get, but their portion sizes are generous and I can usually get two meals out of the large (alii) size so that's how I usually justify the higher prices. They're known for their mac salad. I believe I've had just about everything on their menu. Honolulu beef is probably my favorite but I'm Korean and it's marinated in a Korean marinade so that may not be the most objective review. It's very good though. I'd say their Huli Huli chicken (teriyaki chicken) is probably their most common. It's also good though I have had some experiences where it's very dry. If you're a fan of spice, their Mauna Loa chicken is delicious, and of course their Kalua Pig is always a solid choice that can also be had on a sandwich. Here's a tip, they do offer split plate options so you can try more than one. I've done this several times when I can't decide what I want! read more

Had a terrible experience , haven't been to the West 11th Hawaiian Time and almost 2 years, last time I went there they screwed up my order gave me cold food and the wait time was terrible, this time I waited in line for almost 35 minutes with no one in front of me , waiting at the window the whole time , finally got my food opened up my container and the macaroni look like literally someone had poured milk into it it was so runny, and the chicken was cold, never will go back again read more

Love this place. I grew up in Hawaii and think it's awesome that Eugene has a Hawaiian community. This food takes me back. Their seasoning is spot on. If you are new to this cuisine get a chicken and rice dish. Work your way up to a full plate lunch and by all means don't knock the macaroni salad. It is too notch. read more

Hawaiian Time is the standard for Eugene Grinds in the valley. I really wish more options would pop up, but till then, Hawaiian Time it is. I've always ate at the Coburge location, so this spot was a first. I have to say the do a great job. Something I was noticing at the Coburg location, was the the chicken was getting darker and darker. Damn near black. I dont know if it was the process of marinating the chicken, or what exactly started to cause the change...but it was unapealing to say the least. The W.11th location prepaired it they way it used to be, or perhaps I should say, the way it should be. I am not going to go into extreme detail on the food, because if you've had it, you already know it, and if you haven't had it, you should try it out. I was spoiled by a place in PDX called Bamboo Grove and I miss it already....but Hawaiian Time is still a solid option for a plate lunch in Eugene. read more

You know what I hate the most? Paying a high price and not getting enough of what I paid for. I went here because I thought I would give this location a try. I have been to others and they were quite disappointing. I ordered the spicy chicken and I paid around $9 for it and when I got it it, there was barely any chicken on it and just loaded with mac salad. I like the mac salad, probably the only item that was good, but that is just a side item. I paid for spicy chicken and felt like they were skimping on the amount you get. This was the same issue I had at the other locations and I guess that is just how all of them operate. I would definitely recommend this chain of restaurants if you want to be loaded up with starch and barely any protein, otherwise you probably won't get what you pay for. read more

I think if we are going off if it's good food, efficient and staff is nice - YES! One of the things that bugged me recently, if you care at all about cOVID or Delta variant/ which I do... it freaked me out you have to sign using their pen and paper with NO wipe downs between people. After money and all that stuff is handled between customers, NEXT! I'm big on: Wipe stuff down, don't handle a bag and sauce with dirty gloves. This place is one of my guilty pleasures. If I can't find anyone to eat with this is my go to for a take out order. I always get the pork with extra mac. That mac is my undoing. As soon as I place my order and sit down they're calling me back up with my food. How are they so quick? I like to grab extra teriyaki sauce and douse my pork with it. I'm surprised by the difference between the small size and the regular size. Sometimes I can't finish the regular but the small is too small and I'm still hungry. This was the grossest Hawaiian food that I've ever had. I came here with my friends because we saw that it was drive-thru Hawaiian food and we had never seen a drive thru Hawaiian food place before. They get a star because the workers were really nice and friendly, but the food wasn't good at all. I got a plate with beef, rice and mac salad. The mac salad had way too much mayo and the beef didn't taste good. The rice was mushy too. The only thing I thought was good was the Hawaiian Sun drink, but they buy that and don't make it.. First timer from out of state, looking for a quality local place. I haven't tried any other places around town to be fair but I can't imagine another Hawaiian place topping this one. Incredible! The guy that took my order was helpful since it was my first time, he suggested the pork and I am glad he did. It was moist and tender, can't go wrong. Paired well with the BBQ sauce too. hey guys let me tell you about my experience here. I just moved to Eugene from New Orleans less than one week ago. Saw the Hawaiian barbecue and always love Hawaiian barbecue!! Are usually always order the bull go gi Korean beef and volcano chicken (which is exactly what I got this time) ....welllllllll not really I got all the way back to the house.. Super excited.. and wtf..,. No Korean beef, pulled pork instead. Ughh! I wasn't sure where the mistake was made but I know 100% that I did not order pork. The girl at the counter was really nice, The food came out fast.. but somehow none of us checked until it was too late. I normally would not call a business but for some reason I did this time. Maya is a great manager! She was sincerely apologetic and made everything right. I am not eating the pork but the chicken is awesome!! And the Mac salad is classic Hawaiian styleee. Pretty simple menu, I tend to stop in a couple times a month, and I get the same darn thing. Number 6, I don't even know what they call it, but it's tasty. Grilled chicken with I'm guessing teriyaki mixed with a sweet chili sauce over rice with an extra scoop of rice and a scoop of macaroni salad. I always like to add extra teriyaki on my rice and Mac, and then a good amount of Sri racha sauce, mix it all up and yum. For some this is too much carbs, but for me I love carbs. read more

Had an awful experience with catering here. They quoted the wrong price to us on the phone. When I went to pick up the food, not only was it not ready on time, the total cost was $100 more than our quote! Instead of honoring their mistake, their solution was to give us half the food. Ended up paying the full price so I'd have enough for my party guests. If they would have been honest or more transparent about the pricing up front, i would have never ever paid $14 a pound for Huli Huli chicken. So not worth it. read more

Really disappointing that even when both 'Open' signs are on and hours are posted until 10pm on Yelp that all doors are locked at 9:00pm and workers inside do not acknowledge your presence to say, "sorry, we're actually closed". On top of that, I proceeded to go to the drive-thru because the 'Drive-Thru Open' sign is still on, only to arrive at the order box and watch the workers inside turn off the drive-thru lights. Extremely unprofessional and super aggravating. If you have open signs on and posted hours, honor the posted times. If you cannot honor them, change them, and then train your employees not to ignore attempts by customers to spend money in your establishment. read more

I love this place. It's close to where I work and the food is great. I should say...one item is always great. I say this because I always get the same thing when I go. I get the Huli Chicken with grilled veggies instead of the mac salad. I don't like anyone's mac salad because I cannot stand mayo. I went today and it was, as usual, awesome. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, the veggies grilled just right--not over cooked, not undercooked...just with a little give in them. There was broccoli, snow peas, carrots, red pepper, yellow squash, onions, and mushrooms--quite a variety! And the rice wasn't gummy nor hard; it was cooked just right.
