Amazing find! We're on an 8 week road trip from Colorado and love finding surprising gluten free options, and wowzers is Haven Bagel at the top of the list. My husband who is not GF and I ordered the same thing minus the bagel. We had the Canadian BEC, his on a parmesan bagel and mine on a gluten free parmesan bagel. The bagels were delightful, the egg soufflé was so fluffy, the cheese and Canadian bacon were a great combo, and the siracha cream cheese was the perfect complement to tie it all together. They had a great selection of GF bagel flavors, which is so appreciated because of how rare that is. Our drinks were delicious. I'm a coffee girlie and he's a tea guy, so I ordered the Vanilla Cloud Cold Brew and he ordered the Haven Fog. Both were so good. In my humble opinion, the Haven Fog won and is one of the best London fogs we've ever had. We also ordered a GF pumpkin bread, chia pudding, and banana yogurt parfait for later. We shared all of them and enjoyed them all, but the banana yogurt parfait was such a treat. The ladies accepting our order, making our drinks, and preparing our bagel sandwiches were kind and friendly. The ambiance was cute. Very busy on a Friday morning. Indoor and a few outdoor seating options. We had ordered ours to go and appreciated the containers being compostable. They make three and a half (3.5) cinnamon rasin bagels a day, they sell out in the first two pico seconds. They refuse to up their cin-rasin production because Lane County is under a strict ten rasins a week allotment. There are however dozens of pumpernickel bagels for the horrific friendless monsters who engage with that product. They also like to call you up to the serving counter at least three different times by weakly calling your name over the throng of people lined up out the door. They do this because assembling your order and sending it all out at once is reductive and a micro-aggression against folks who are trying to get their steps in for the day. All in all however this is a good place, they just have quirks that they refuse to adjust for because this side of bend is a food desert and they know I'm not driving literally across town in order to have my car hit in the parking lot of the Vic. A competent place could eat Haven's lunch, that is if they were willing to walk up to the table three times in order to eat the whole thing. Great place, needs work. Edit: while writing this review they forgot one part of my order and incorrectly made anothet part of my order. First time in. We entered at 12:45 and they had 4 bagels left, all cranberry-orange. So, we decided to buy two bags of their day-old bagels in order to give them a plain bagel on which to make a sandwich. They were willing to do that, so we thought we could have the cranberry-orange bagel that normally would have been part of the sandwich. But things got weird: "No--that's a fresh bagel. You have day-old bagels." "But we're paying for the whole sandwich and supplying another bagel. That means we should have the bagel we're paying for." "No, that's a fresh bagel. We can't give you that." That conversation was recycled for the manager, but she repeated the same thing. If that wasn't illogical enough, we had bought two of the last three "Buy one get one free" day-old bags of bagels. The person behind us asked if they could buy the last bag for half price since it was a one-off. "No, you need to have two bags. We can't charge you only half price. It will be 7.00." ...Wow. We plan to return at an earlier hour next time because the sandwich was quite tasty, and we'd like to try their other bagels. But we were not impressed with the service. read more

I finally woke up early enough to get a gluten free bagel- cinnamon raisin. So good. Great texture. And it came overstuffed with cream cheese, which took me right back to my teenage years when I could eat normal food and we'd walk from the high school to the local bagel place. Amazing. We love this place! There is typically a long line on weekends but it goes pretty fast and the staff is friendly. The bagels are freshly made and have unique flavors, and they make in house fancy cream cheeses that are to die for. They also have seasonal drinks and bagel sandwiches. I was visiting Bend for a few days and this spot was recommended to me by some locals as "the best bagels even for people who don't love bagels". I'm so glad I stopped by! The menu was amazing, sourcing quality and fresh ingredients. I appreciate the gluten free options too. I ordered the seasonal Haven Fog iced latte and the classic bacon and egg breakfast sandwich on a jalapeño and cheese bagel. I also ordered the Chia pudding, but never got around to trying it... I was going to take it on the plane back home with me but it was by TSA. The ice latte was so dangerous (it was that good)! I found it to be a tad sweet, as I'm usually a less sugar/no sugar drink order... So in the future I would make modifications. That said, I had no self-control and gulped the drink down in about four minutes! The bagel was also delicious! It was really hearty and filling. I could definitely split this into two or three servings. If I'm back in the area, I would love to try the rest of their menu. I could see this being a "regular" spot on trips. These are not bagels. They are some kind of roll. They are more like bread than anything. Soft. Not dense or chewy. Lacks the firm skin from boiling (they must be baked). The service is slow so the line can be long even on a random weekday during what should be a slow time. Many flavors offered. Staff is friendly. The pumpernickel is chocolate not rye. read more

Absolutely incredible bagels! All their bagels are incredibly delicious and I can't recommend them enough. Both their sandwiches and just normal bagels are great. Very generous portions and super fresh always. Service is quick even when they are busy and the staff is quite friendly. Location wise in a great spot out on the east side of Bend which is a bit quieter than downtown or wherever else you might go to get a bagel. There are a good amount of seating options with both inside and outside options. Would absolutely recommend Haven if you're looking for a great bagel, good coffee and a great location! read more

The gluten free bagel has dairy - check the menu for specific allergens on their website (which I didn't know until after!). I ordered a gluten free bagel sando and also needed dairy free - which I told them. I asked for no cheese or spread and also a dairy free drink. My order came, I ate it and then later ordered for my gluten eating husband. She then shared with me that the gluten free bagels have dairy but did not think to mention it during any time of my order. I am a bit disappointed and now suffering with a headache. read more

I'm a bagel snob. I have high expectations. Bend doesnt have great storefront options and it's great Haven opened one. I want to give haven 5 stars. Their bagels ARE good. But as somebody with an egg and garlic allergy, I don't have many choices when going there. I'm glad that the jalapeno cheddar bagel comes up with garlic on the cash register now (as it isn't on the bagel's label), so at least I know why I've had horrible eczema outbreaks and gut issues in the days following a haven visit. Get more onion on those onion bagels (Big Ed's got you beat), and offer more bagel options (even sorry-a** big-O has you beat) and I'll come back as a regular. read more

NYC bagel snobs can always find something to complain about outside their little utopia lol. Haven absolutely is the place for bagels in Bend. They easily deserve 6 stars. The bagels? Fresh, fat and fluffy. You can find staples like Everything (with seeds throughout, not just on top) and unique housemade flavors like Garlic & Swiss. The service? Fast, friendly and really freakin' kind. I felt like I was ordering from a family member with how sweet and helpful everyone is. The shmears? Oh dog, the shmears! They're sold in personal sizes (1 shmear per bagel) and they are so insanely good. The pesto shmear is to die for and the bacon chive really sings. The cold brew coffee I had was also very tasty and appropriately caffeinated. I ordered 6 bagels to go and have been enjoying them all week, and I write this review as I savor the last bites of an everything bagel with pesto shmear. I concede I'm a little drunk on flavor at the moment, which absolutely colors my review. Truly delightful. The lox sandwich I had day of was also fresh, reasonably priced and very delicious.
