The drinks are great but the bartenders make everything even better. I wish I could remember the names of the ones who served me. Loved them - They were very personable - enjoyed talking with them - they even remembered what I was drinking when I returned. read more

Looked like a fun cozy place for a quick cocktail. Sat down at the table, Reviewed the menu made eye contact with the three wait staff hanging at the bar unfortunately after waiting no wait staff came to take our order or drink choice they did however take others that at came in after us so we walked out. If you have time to waste not a bad spot to hang out read more

My husband and I came by here on Saturday and had a great time! We had a blast just chatting with the bartenders and some of the other customers, sat there for hours. Our bartenders, Edy and Victor are both alot of fun and make some awesome drinks. Both were very quick and efficient. For food, we had Chicken Quesadilla and Nachos, both Pupu options were pretty good. We will definitely be back before our vacation is over! read more

Best beach bar on the island! Convenient location, great drinks, and the bartenders are always super friendly! I've been to Honolulu many times and this is always my go-to spot for a drink as close to the beach as I can get! read more

Hau Tree Bar - HLS on the left. Category 5 on the right. Best drinks by the beach! #Aloha - Local Flavor Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Been there 3 times. Each time was the absolute worst you could ask for. I would expect that the Hilton would care a little about their image and quality control - apparently not. It's a very convenient if you are on the beach fronting the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The first time there I ordered a beer and Nachos. The service was poor and slow - unfriendly waitress. The beer was fine, but you are paying resort prices, which are triple what you would like to pay. The Nachos were the absolute worst thing I have ever seen. They made 7-11 Nachos seem gourmet by comparison. Stale chips with liquid cheese out of a can and a few Jalapenos - served at room temperature. The second time there, I just had a couple of beers while waiting for someone - can't complain other than it cost like $10 per beer. The third and absolutely the LAST time I will ever go there was Friday night, waiting for the fireworks while the kids are swimming. We ordered 3 drinks and French Fries. The service was friendly, I will give them that, and the drinks were OK. The French Fries must have been from yesterday. They were hard, cold, and stale - pretty much inedible. Even the kids wouldn't eat them. And we paid over $50 for this. OK for overpriced drinks but NEVER, I repeat NEVER, EVER order any kind of Food Product from this place. read more

Skip this place! $7 for wine served in a plastic cup. Had wine here on two separate occasions- first server was rude, the second had better customer service skills. (This is the Hilton Hawaiian- customer service should always be top-notch!) First server was also nowhere to be found- had to walk up to the bar to find her & tell her where I was sitting. Didn't want to leave my laptop at the table looking for a server, y' know? Bar closes at 730p, yet I was rushed with last-call at 640p, by the same lousy server. At least I was able to get free peanuts at the bar! read more

This bar is not representative of any other Hilton I have ever been to. The bartenders are not friendly Or personable but just in a rush to throw down a drink . Recently we ordered one martini and one soft drink. We were presented with a bill for almost $39. When we asked how could one martini and one soda be 39.00 the bartender said we automatically make martinis a double? We said we didn't want a double just a regular martini. After another 10 minutes , we were finally given the smallest martini ever in a plastic cup and a soda- we then paid a bill of almost $34.00. This is not my first bad experience with them but it's definitely my last. I would never go back under any circumstance. read more

Love this bar morning noon and night sitting under the trees and people watching listening to waves and pool sounds and local music eating pupus and tiki torches are a must and on Tue and Friday you get to see some fireworks too for free!!!! read more

Came here for some drinks and dessert. The bar has a strange smell to it and they don't have any desserts at the bar menu. However, we had the best bartender, EVER! Stephen! I say that because I told him I wanted dessert in which, obvi, they don't have any BUT he walked over to the next restaurant to grab me a dessert menu, not only that, he ordered me something, picked it up and brought it to me, best part, I didn't even ask for anything. Talk about a great experience! read more

Hau Tree Bar - Stephen is the best bartender around. Super friendly & funny. GREAT customer experience!! - Local Flavor Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

My boyfriend and I joined my parents at the Hau Tree Bar for a drink one evening and I have mixed feelings about the place. He tried his first lava flow and deemed it as absolutely delicious. I opted for a beer, which came out cold and refreshing. We decided to share a plate of nachos as dinner wasn't for a few hours and we were pretty hungry, but instead of coming out as one would expect an appetizer order of nachos to, we were given a to-go box full of chips with separate to-go containers holding the individual toppings. So weird! By the time we dumped the toppings on the chips and mixed everything together, the cheese was lukewarm. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive, but I am not sure if she thought we were ordering to-go, or if that is how their nachos are normally served.... read more

First experience was the worst. Me and my mother along with Lisa L and her mother sat down at a table as soon as we saw a free one. It was about 7:10ish. We sat and waited. Nobody came by. Finally around 7:20, a server (named Linda) rushes to our table and starts telling us (in a loud obnoxious way), "We're closed. We're CLOSED. WE'RE CLOSED!" and then walks away. Um.... Ok. Not the way to do business. We then see her serving drinks to other tables. She comes back 10 minutes later and says "We're closed. We closed at 7:30 and last call was at 7:15". Well funny thing that we got there before last call (the first two were there since around 7ish and the rest of the group showed up after we did and she was serving them drinks). We left pretty pissed and embarrassed since she so loudly reprimanded us in front of everyone at the bar. My next experience was on our last night here. Went straight to the bar since it was around 7:15 and I didn't feel like a repeat performance of our first visit. Bartender was super friendly and super fast. Next time I'm going straight to the bar to order instead of worrying about the off-chance that I have to deal with Linda. read more

This place was a joke. Service speed was ok. The food selection was a choice of about 4 things. We choose the turkey sandwiches with chips at around $9.00 a pop. The sandwiches were delivered (or I should say all "dropped" in front of one person in our party) still wrapped in cellophane! Complete with an expiration date stamp! Just like you can get at the ABC store for $4.99 or at a 7-11 for around $3.50. The sandwich bread was soggy paste on the bottom! For $9.00? Seriously? Do yourself a favor and go next door to Tropics Bar and Grill for a far better meal. Or if you're really wanting a cellophane wrapped sandwich, walk a block or so inland to an ABC store and get the same thing for half the price. At least then you can maybe pick one out that doesn't have soggy bread. read more

Food menu is really bad, our server is polite enough, but not good. She came by to drop the food, then we didn't see her again for about 20-30 minutes. Spinach salad is definitely a NO, pre-packaged in a plastic container at $12. Other than the scenery, there's absolutely no reason to come here. If You're stuck at the hotel & can't get away, I suppose this would have to do in order to survive. read more

My husband and I visited Hau Tree Bar almost every day while on our honeymoon. It was the perfect way to relax after adventuring through the island on our honeymoon! We typically ordered lava flows, pina coladas, and Mai Tais! They also have the "Blue Hawaiian" drink, which was apparently invented at the Hilton Hawaiian Village decades ago! The bar is nice, with plenty of seating at the bar or at the tables attached to the bar. It's right off the boardwalk in Waikiki, so you have a really nice view of the beach (it's also right next to the the resort's pool). Service was nice almost every single time we visited. Definitely a nice place to stop in at the end of a long day to relax! Can't speak for the food, since we didn't eat there at all, but the drinks were exactly what we expected: fruity and delicious. read more

Hello this is my first time here and just saying the food was terrible, and the service was long. Another problem was that there would always be a problem with what we ordered, for example if we'd ask for salsa, they would give us chunked up tomato,(pico digello). When we asked why it was like this they said that that's what they had :/ read more

The ambiance was amazing. Hear the sounds of the waves and feel the night breeze coming from both sides of the hotel. We went to the bar because of our late check in. The food was just OK but we expected more based on the prices. We had the skewers and chips, but both were not that memorable. read more

My friend and I were searching for a bar to get a drink and enjoy the Hawaiian sunset after a day of trekking around the island. We had checked out a couple of other bars before stopping here. The other bars were pretty full with standing room only. After sitting down at an outside table, I ordered a piña colada and my friend had a glass of pinot grigio. I can't speak for the glass of wine, but my piña colada was not so good yet a bit pricey. I guess that's why I have one maybe every 15 years. At least you can't beat the view of the ocean! read more

It was an all right environment bartender seem to be a little frazzled. No music or anything. They close early last call was at 8:20 people are coming in left and right wanting a drink but they wouldn't serve anymore they had a volcano drink cost was $16.50 and not even full. He was throwing shots in glasses from a Jaeger and it was all going into the ice bucket/container hardly anything going into drinks read more

A pretty average beach bar that felt like everything was a few dollars more expensive for no reason other than it was attached to the Hilton. You can walk another couple hundred feet down the beach, save some money, and have an identical experience at The Barefoot Bar. What really pushed me over the edge of not liking this place was the food. The whole reason we went here is because I assumed what they'd be serving would be better than your typical bar food, being the Hilton and all. I got a sandwich I think I paid something around $11 for which looked like and came in the exact same packaging the sandwiches they sell at the ABC stores come in. Don't bother with this place unless you've just got Hilton Honors points to burn or some other reason to eat subpar food and drink the same drinks that are available everywhere else for way more money. read more

The bar had a good bar, but very limited food. The menu consisted of burgers, nachos and very little. The tables & chairs were slightly uncomfortable. The service was pretty good, but not phenomenal. Servers mostly just came, took orders and that was it. One chatted with us a bit. The drinks were good and the nachos were ok. Weak cheese sauce, but overall a good portion (howerver, served in a styrofoam togo container). The best thing about the bar was the VIEW across Waikiki beach onto the ocean. read more

By far the worst food I'd had. French fries?? Flat and the taste like it is from yesterday. We were here to watch fireworks, kids are hungry. We just want small bites then dinner later. Super expensive and the taste is no quality at all. Tacos is nothing like tacos at all. read more

Serious rip off! I can not believe that they charge $5 for every ice tea refill! how greedy can a restaurant be? what are we talking about? 2000% markup for every ice tea? Pretty much all three stars are for location. It's right at the beach in Waikiki, part of the Hilton Hawaiian Village resort (right next to their pool). The drinks are strong but just about everything is $9 or $11, so it's not cheap. The service is hit or miss, some waitresses were good and came by often, others completely ignored us. Somehow all their shifts ended half an hour after the last one (?) not sure how that works. But again, you are sitting right by the beach, sipping strong drinks, and in Hawaii. Not too shabby. read more

Had some great drinks here. The bar tender was very helpful in picking new drinks for us to try and we loved them!
