Perfection. We started with amazing cocktails, blood orange margarita and cherry orange old fashioned, beautiful and delicious. Our server/bartender was personable and attentive. We chose the specials, prime rib and halibut. Both were cooked perfectly and sides were delicious. We even got a slice of carrot cake for dessert and it was very good--that frosting was to die for. The staff is super friendly. They let us in a few minutes early as we didn't know they opened at 4:30 but they were very gracious. The space is very cool, environment is great. Don't get a mixed drink. Their staff isn't trained on some basics like, an old fashioned is a stirred drink, you don't muddle the orange and cherries at the bottom, and you don't just pour the liquor in and hand it to me. Their Collins drink is very bland. Again the staff was very friendly and gave us great ideas for other things to see and do in town. Get a beer. read more

We were turned away from the fancy dancy restaurants down by the river and were searching for a hearty and well done dinner before a Shakespeare show. We walked into Harvey's and were kindly seated at our choice of tables. To make a long story short, each menu item we selected was a 10/10! My 14 year old daughter devoured the salmon cakes and loved the fresh tomato soup! My hamburger was deliciously cooked and the fries were incredible. My wife's Cesar salad was freshly made with real anchovies- not overly dressed and perfectly tangy. Non- alcoholic drinks were really good too! We highly recommend this down home restaurant with freshly made meals, not heavy handed but just right! We'll be back next time we come to Ashland! read more

Unfortunately I never got to have dinner. We started with an appetizer and the worst old fashioned whiskey we have ever encountered. We weren't greeted upon arrive, not a " hello" I'll be right with you. Nothing. After about 5'min I asked the hostess of she would grab us water, then we asked for menus ordered an app. After finishing that we were ignored again. Nobody checked on us, asked us if we would like another drink, we already said we wanted dinner. The guy behind the bar was the worst bartender and service attendant. Alright....stop what you are doing and drive to Ashland, Oregon. Don't stop at the hotel, gas station or the hospital. Drive straight to Harvey's Place!!! Park your car in the middle of the street and run to a table. Have them bring you a quart of their "house sauce!". Put that delicious "sent from God" sauce on everything they put on your table...bread, salad, tater tots, but please please put it on the pork chop!!! The chop is wonderful!!! It is the most tender chop I have ever eaten in my life. And look I am from Eastern North Carolina where we eat the pig from the rooter to the tooter! With the heavenly house sauce on it...DAMN DAT GOOD!!!! I will be moving from North Carolina to Southern Oregon to eat this sauce on a daily bases. Oh yeah...the staff are beautiful people and the decor is a step up from the White House....but right now go get that sauce!!!! read more

We were looking for a place to have some cocktails and appetizers before our show and Harvey's looked really good. Glad this was our choice because everything was very good. We were seated very promptly for a Friday night and service was wonderful. We started with some really well made cocktails and then ordered the shrimp polenta, caprese, and bowls of clam chowder and tomato soup. Caprese had cherry tomatoes substituted for the heirlooms, which was a little disappointing but it was still good and I thought it very nice that our server informed us ahead of time instead of just bringing. I understand about availability so it was fine-but I want to return and try with the heirlooms as I bet it's great! Very nice overall experience. read more

I finally got back here, this time determined to have a full dinner and not fill myself up with a bowl of the fantastically good clam chowder. Instead, I just had a cup of the clam chowder. It's still as great as it ever was, light broth and lots of meltingly tender clams. My dinner was the salmon, a fairly tasty slab cooked medium rare, so it was raw in the middle. Polenta and sauteed spinach on the side, both clearly separated from the fish and each other, so the incompatible tastes didn't run into each other. Only problem was, though the soup and my drink came promptly, the dinner didn't arrive until some 35 minutes after I ordered it. That's too long, and made me run out of available time. Compensations: 1) when the server came by and said my food would be up very soon, it did take only a couple more minutes; 2) when I hailed someone else and asked for my bill quickly, by gum they brought it and took my card and brought it back really fast. read more

We've been coming here for 11 years. We used to come for the baked brie appetizer, then they took it off the menu for some unknown reason. Now, we come to ask about the baked brie. Every time we ask, they say "everyone always asks! but we don't have it anymore." If everyone always asks, THEN BRING IT BACK!!!! .... Unfortunately, we just had our last meal at Harvey's. We waited an hour for our food, we were never checked on or updated, our appetizer plates were never cleared. No apology, no explanation, our waitress didn't even approach the table until after A DIFFERENT waitress had to serve us our food. The shrimp had veins, the burger was raw, the pork chop was tough. The restaurant is loud, uninviting (despite the cheap fairy lights strewn all around) and generally very mid. We've never had an outstanding meal here, but they USED to have outstanding baked brie. All of this being said, EVERYTHING would be forgiven and we would become OFTEN patrons again if they just brought the brie back. PLEASE!! It's the only redeeming part of this place. read more

Not my/our first time there. However, the first time I/we had the mispleassure of dealing with the "bartender" that was on duty today 3/27/25. He was rude and grumpy. We ordered Amaretto sours to begin with. I asked if he knew how to make them with egg white. He eventually said yes and gave us the absolute WORST ones we've ever had. Way to much ice and not nearly enough Amaretto. Then he had the nerve to actually charge us for the egg White's!!?? Who does that?? There were other things that he did while we were there but I'm too pissed to explain. That's why he got a 50 cent tip. We definitely won't be going back! read more

I'm surprised this place doesn't have above 4 stars on Yelp. Googles rating is above 4.5 We got the chicken pot pie togo. It was pretty good - very nice flaky crust, great flavor. It even came with mashed potatoes and collared greens on the side! My boyfriend ate the collared greens and said they were not good, so don't hold out for those, but the pot pie on its own is lovely anyways. Also friendly service. $14 for the pot pie. read more

Disappointing. I was looking forward to the excellent cocktails described in reviews. Instead, our martini and Manhattan came in coupe glasses (those little rounded bowl glasses with stems.) Since when is a Martini a served in an old fashioned champagne coupe? It's like getting wine in a juice glass. Just an excuse to serve a tiny drink. The food was overpriced for the portions and mostly meh - small burger, small chicken Caesar. The shrimp with polenta appetizer was delicious. And the fries are great. Service was great too. The tomato soup was just weird - way too much sherry and little tomato flavor. Go elsewhere. Or stay home and have a can of Amys tomato soup and a Real martini. Been there a few times for their steak which was good not great but priced like it's the latter. Still waiting to be treated well by staff. I have one memory in particular that's burned in where staff saw me waiting around to be acknowledged, even locking eyes with me a few times--had me standing around for an uncomfortably long period of time. Despite the abundance of available seating, I stood around like someone who was not welcome there. Haven't been back since. My partner and I shared the pork chop and Alaskan halibut dinners. We were a little concerned about the pinkness of the pork - we even talked about how they must be temping their meat dishes to ensure proper cooking. How sad that a place that looks so cute can be deceiving. My husband & I came early hoping there would be a place to sit at the bar. Unfortunately there wasn't but that's ok there was an empty table in the bar. We asked to sit there and the hostess says that is a reserved table. Funny cuz they do not have a reservation available on their website. Whatever we got seated in their dining room. Our hostess brings a craft of water and placed it on the table. Geez not even a smile. We pour our water and about to drink but immediately stopped cuz there is lipstick on all the glasses. Uggh!! Our waitress come to take our drink order. We show her the water glasses and she immediately takes them away. No apologies. We order our drinks and the salmon cake appetizer. Drinks were prepared just right the appetizer unfortunately had a hair. The waitress took that way and at least apologized this time. She did tell us there would be no charge for the appetizer and dessert was on them. That was very nice. Dinner comes...oooo the suspense... My husband orders the filet medium rare and I ask for the halibut. His steak was very good but nowhere near the way he asked for it cooked. My halibut was also good but looked like a piece I had bought at Costco. Just to let all who view this I'm really not a critic but when your restaurant experience starts out on the wrong foot well best to leave. Which we should have done but I really wanted to give this place a try. We've been favorably impressed with Harvey's. The bar area is very nice, and who can complain when a joint has Pliny on tap? Yeah, good beer selection here. We've been a few times for cocktails, too. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided to try Harvey's several times to mix things up, and we were really happy with their curbside pickup and specials. Their staff, even during these trying times, were incredibly customer-oriented, and worth a hugely positive mention. The Prime Rib sandwich and the Seafood Linguine were hits for us. Our main knock against Harvey's would probably be portion sizes that are a little light, but that's a small criticism in an overall positive experience. Great staff and ambiance, but once great food now just average. Was really excited to get a bowl of their razor clam chowder. Two years ago it was thick cream with nice pieces of clams. Now it's watery cream, little pieces and served in big flat edge bowl that disguised how small the actual bowl is. The Rogue Bleu salad was reduced to small nut pieces and similar few little bleu cheese chunks. For $15 ? My wife's halibut was equally small, weak sauce and just way to average. Hoping this is temporary and they will regain that exceptional level we have had before. read more

We came for the food, but I had a glass of wine to go along. It was a generous serving of excellent Malbec for the low price of $7.00. All the wine by the glass is extremely well priced. On the other hand, the food was mid to high priced for the offerings. There were 3 of us, with varied menu choices, all of which were very good. The beef of the day was a fine cut of filet mignon cooked perfectly. Expect sautéed spinach included with all entrees, which is very good. If you don't like spinach, that would be a downside. The tables are very close to each other, which makes for a noisy atmosphere. Good place for a casual dinner. Not recommended for a quiet formal experience. Oh, and the service was friendly and efficient, even though staff shortages are an issue everywhere these days. read more

We haven't been to Harvey's since the pandemic. Tonight, we're so happy to have chosen to return. Since the lifting of the pandemic, restaurant service has been very poor...it seems like the staff in some of Ashland's restaurants have either not been trained very well or shouldn't be working in the restaurant 'service' industry. Happy to say this is not true for Harvey's! The service was exemplary! The staff of young women seem happy and are friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and quite accommodating. The food- Rob's Ribs- were delicious and quite tender, halibut fish & chips, tasty & light. We're so happy they've made it through the pandemic. We will come and support them more often now that we know what a well-juiced machine they are! read more

Used to be a regular, but not any more. The portions are absolutely miniscule for the price and the quality has gone somewhat downhill. Was always a place I took visitors, but now it is little more than a joke. They are almost purposely trying to get two portions out of one portion. Glass of wine: tiny. Salad and bread: Almost need a microscope. Entree: About 50-60% of the size it should be for the price. The burger is still normal size, but otherwise I always walk out hungry. This was never the case three or four years ago. I feel like I'm under rating it, but I suppose that's because I had heard it was really good and I found it to be just average. Having said that, I enjoyed my dinner but have nothing to rave about. The artichoke dip was alright, not mind blowing. The tater tots tasted like tater tots. Good and crispy so I suppose those were pretty high on the scale. Maybe salmon with polenta was good. Salmon wasn't over cooked, polenta was creamy, but nothing about it jumped out at me as amazing. And it did come with cooked squash which always feels kinda low brow to me.
