a parking lot with cars parked in front
Steven T.

I was looking for a breakfast place out in the country and I found this place in a strip mall so parking is plentiful. The place is dumpy looking with cheap tables and chairs and nothing to look at. The menu has most of the breakfast items that you would expect but the specials board was going to win today with the biscuits and gravy with two eggs. The service was wonderful with a couple servers taking car of me while I was having my breakfast. This place is all regulars who know everyone by name in the restaurant except for me. The biscuits and gravy looked amazing and they don't just spoon a little gravy on the top biscuit like some places do, they drown the whole plate with sausage gravy. My eggs were perfect sunny side up. The biscuits was two whole biscuits not one cut in half like some places do. The biscuit was the fresh made good kind with that home made taste. The sausage gravy was good with that nice creamy texture with plenty of sausage in it. Restaurants take note and see my pictures, this is how proper biscuits and sausage gravy is served you restaurants that cut one biscuit in half to look like two and skimpy gravy on top that doesn't drip down on to the plate. Overall I had a great breakfast on my visit and the service was good also so I would definitely stop back for breakfast again.

Excellent fried potatoes

Arrived at 8am on a Sunday morning. It wasn't busy. We seated ourselves and were promptly approached by a very friendly server. Got our coffee really fast. Our food arrived in a reasonable time and wow the plates were overflowing! Potato's were fried perfectly but enough to feed 3 people. The corned beef hash was unfortunately from a can but they fried it to a nice crust. Everything was good but nothing special. The decor is pretty dingy and tacky. A mismatch of old dining furniture that some might find charming.

Excellent hometown cafe! The staff was super friendly and all worked together well. I never had an empty cup of coffee. Our food was classic country breakfast food, warm and buttery goodness. The pancakes are mammoth. The french toast was soft. The bacon melted in your mouth. And the country fried steak was crisp with a gravy that was smooth and creamy. We even were given complimentary homemade cookies!

Food average. Took 1 hr to receive food. Was a Sunday morning. They were busy. Not as great as I hoped for an hour wait on food.

Best hash browns and pancakes around. It is a local dive with mismatched chairs and tables but food is solid.

Been here several times, and the experience has always been very good…read more It's located on a moderately quiet street in Hartland. It has a few small tables outside in front. Inside, there is seating downstairs or upstairs, which tends to be a bit quieter (my choice). Also upstairs is a meeting room that you can reserve. The counter to order is at the back of the shop, which can feel a little distracting if you are sitting downstairs, with people lining up across the room. On this visit, I got a super friendly greeting from the cashier. Ordered a London Fog Tea Latte (a little vanilla, a little lavender, extra foam) in a mug, and a blueberry lemon scone. They do a nice job with the latte, and the scone was very good (might ask to have it warmed up next time). The place has a great vibe. The staff seem to enjoy themselves and treat everyone with kindness and respect. It's a great example of what a coffee shop should be.

Things that were off-putting: seems like a local fan-favorite and outsiders passing through are "meh". Not the warm and fuzzy welcome / vibe I typically find and enjoy at a coffee shop. Also the main entrance is not accessible. However, we did discover an accessible ramp on the side of the building (all under construction / roped off at the time of our visit but good to know for future visits). Lastly, it's a small and cozy place but there was a lot of merch scattered about where maybe an extra table could have been squeezed in. Just some thoughts!

I've been hearing how good their biscuits and gravy (we added an egg to this) are as well as their French toast so of course we had to try those. We also ordered a vanilla latte and regular latte. Everything was delicious. The sausage gravy was seasoned well and the biscuits were crispy on the edges and fluffy in the center. The French toast had a nice caramelized exterior and was cooked perfectly. I couldn't pass up some bakery to take home and got a blueberry muffin and a peanut butter/chocolate chip scone. This scone was fantastic; not too sweet with a great balance of chocolate and peanut butter. What really makes this a five star place is their service. We have tried other places in the surrounding area and the owners will usually ignore us since we aren't regulars. While Creole Cafe definitely has their regular customers, but what sets them apart from some of the other spots is that we didn't feel out of place and the owners made us feel so welcome. We will definitely be frequenting Creole Cafe in the future!

I've increasingly become such a fan of this spot…read more The coffee menu is fun and varied and the drinks are delightful. The bites are lovely--if you know what to order. I think in my last review I had gotten the egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a plain bagel and mentioned it was pretty basic (your order was pretty basic, you may have shouted at the screen--you're not wrong, gentle reader). Since then I've grown, I've taken responsibility for my uninspired ordering and can now confidently say--they have some of the best coffee shop breakfast bites around. What should you order? Their strawberry avocado toast. Strawberries on avocado? I'm unsure, you may be muttering. Please do yourself a favor, stop muttering, and just order the dang toast. It's goat cheese sprinkled, balsamic reduction drizzled, and quite simply some of the best avocado toast I've had the pleasure of consuming. What else? The baked oatmeal with berries. Warm, comforting, and adorned with fresh berries--it's the stuff winter dreams are made of. I love during the holidays they have some fun holiday lattes (s/o to the jingle bells latte) and I've also recently ordered and enjoyed their tangerine mocha (citrus-y delight!). The service is always above-and-beyond lovely. And, dining/seating area is clean and comfortable. Get to it!

Inclusion, as the name implies, employs individuals who are neurodiverse. It's a terrific mission, and the people working there make it all happen in a very authentic way. Kudos! The café is on the end of a small strip mall. There's outdoor patio seating with tables for small groups. Inside, it's a spacious setting with plenty of seating at counters or small tables, and lots of light from the big front windows. The vibe is rustic chic. We got a cheerful greeting from the cashier. I ordered my very favorite drink, a London Fog Tea Latte (little lavender, little vanilla, extra foam) in a mug, along with a warmed-up Heath Scone. My friend ordered the coffee cake muffin and a Chai Latte. Everything was excellent. My London Fog even had lots of microbubbles -- perfect. One curious thing: they made my London Fog in a paper cup, then gave me a mug with it. It was easy enough to pour from the cup into the mug (and I was careful not to deflate the wonderful foam), but I wondered why they did it that way. I know, I should simply have asked :) A wonderful café with a great mission. I'll definitely be back.

Been here several times…read more It's a "nice" place on Pewaukee Lake. The signage is a little confusing, in that it's attached to another business (VeloCity Cycling), but just open the door and walk in. There are plenty of windows, so you know that you're in the right place. There are several different places to sit. Inside by the counter, a glass enclosed patio with a better view of the lake (the sunny can be overly bright and glaring), and outside seating during warmer weather. Got a friendly greeting by the staff, and help with the ordering. Got a couple hot drinks, including a London Fog Latte, and two scones (one blueberry, and another chocolate chip). The drinks were done nicely, with the London Fog including the necessary vanilla, lavender, and extra foam. The scones were good, but definitely not a traditional recipe. These were essentially muffins that were cooked on a cookie sheet and not a muffin tin. Had great muffing texture, not the tender/dry/crumble that you get with a real scone. I did ask, and apparently they make everything from scratch in house. When we arrived, there were just several tables of customers, but within the hour the entire place filled up. It's a popular place, and at times it could be hard to hold a conversation. It's a nice spot, with a great view, friendly staff and well made beverages. Would stop in again.
