Cute breakfast spot but definitely get on the wait list ahead of time. Ordered the Spicy Fried Chicken Plate and The Perfect Combo with a chocolate chip pancake. All of the food was great, however the spicy chicken was on the fatty side so probably wouldn't order again. The pancake and biscuits were the stars of the show. Would definitely recommend and we will be back! read more

Cute brunch spot in midtown. It's packed on the weekends, waited for about 30 minutes. Got the spicy fried chicken and waffle dish, fried yuca croquettes, and gyro fries. Loved all the dishes, especially the fried yuca croquettes, definitely a must get! Service was quick too. read more

I had been hesitant to try because of how busy they always seem to be on weekends, but I was able to get in on an early Friday morning. And I have to say, I really love the feeling you get being at Harry's. Very well lit and clean, it's welcoming and invites you to stay for a while. Must be partly to due to their Customer Code of Conduct which is proudly displayed at the hostess desk. It's some rules and business practices told to you upfront that surprisingly set the tone for the experience in a good way. It told me that the owners and employees take pride in their business, and that as a visitor to their house I was gonna be taken care of. Everything else was great. Our server was pleasant and helpful with the menu. The food was delicious and well crafted. Chilaquiles had options for red or green salsas, both were tasty. Massive portion and perfect textures on the chips. Churrasco plate had a really yummy and tender marinated steak. And some new potato cheesy pancake that was fun Chicken and waffles were awesome as well. 3/3 on the menu items with fantastic service is an easy 5 star. Hope to be back again soon to try some of the items I missed out on! read more

So darn tasty. Food- the food was super flavorful and good portion sizes. We got the an omelette, salad, fries, and fends toast. The surprise treat was the grilled biscuit. Oooohhh yum! Service- everyone we interacted with was professional, attentive, and friendly. Vibe - this place is bussling. Feels like a classy and casual diner setting. No reservations but you walk in and out your name down. Longer wait during brunch hours but plenty of places to park and sit while waiting. read more

Breakfast anyone? Friend suggested our 1x a month meet up at Harry's. I was a first timer so she suggested earlier on a Saturday. Met at 8:30 am and I understood why she suggested early. Parking can be problematic. It's in downtown. The lot is small compared to the restaurant size. There is street parking too. No wait. Win. We started off with the feta fries (friend wanted to try). I'm not a feta girl but the feta and the dipping sauce paired well together. I ordered the spicy chicken platter + 1 waffle (knew I would be taking home leftovers) $17.95 2 boneless spicy chicken thighs 2 eggs hashbrowns or home fries biscuit or toast 1 plain waffle $8.95 The spicy chicken platter was delicious. (The home fries were a bit undercooked for me but good nonetheless). The chicken was perfectly crispy on the inside and tender and juicy on the inside. With a hint of spice. Nice big biscuit too. Waffle was standard - came with butter and syrup. Friend ordered their version of eggs benedict and she said it was delicious. The service was great. The staff was really nice and friendly and worked well as a team. They also seemed to like each other. It is a bit pricey so be prepared. Great portions. There is a time limit esp during busier hours. There are a few more things si want to try so will def be back. Very diverse and eclectic customers. read more

This place gets packed during peak hours on the weekends. Be prepared to wait. But the wait goes quick and it seems they have a very organized system of getting people sat as quickly as possible. Parking can sometimes be impossible in their private lot so it's best to come early. There is street parking but it's hard to come by. The chilaquiles were delicious! So tasty! I've tried so many things on the menu and I've never been disappointed, but the chilaquiles are my fav! read more

The food was delicious. Service was amazing. One of my favorite things that they do is actually make homemade hash browns. A lot of restaurants use the prepackaged frozen potatoes that they warm up on the skillet or put in the oven or something. You can tell that these potatoes are diced in-house and they add onions and peppers and it just is so delicious. The only thing is, they do have some house rules that I particularly love and agree with, but I'm sure some people will not. So make sure you read that upon arrival. For example, I did see something on there that said that you can't have an exposed midriff. But anyway, very nice area, very nice restaurant and good food overall. read more

Came in for breakfast and was seated right away outside. Ordered pretty quick but the service was slow, especially filling up our coffees. This was probably due to us being sat outside. The food was pretty good. I got the breakfast sandwich while my wife got the chilaquiles. The green salsa on the chilaquiles was pretty amazing. read more

Located in Midtown on Bagby; never heard of this spot before today but apparently it's pretty popular on weekends. Came by for breakfast; parking is readily available in their lot or on Bagby. Interior is decently spacious and neutral colored; like a more well lit Carraba's. Service is friendly, we were seated immediately. Good feedback for the chicken, steak, and the chilaquiles. Solid 4/5 for the food. Haven't been here on a weekend yet but it'll be a good pick if there wasn't a very long wait. read more

As a midtown resident living just four blocks away in a condo, I dine at your establishment 2-3 times per week with my boys. I've consistently enjoyed exceptional service and some of the best food in the area at your restaurant. However, my experience today fell significantly short of your usual standards. Our server, Milena M., seemed either new or overwhelmed, resulting in a 50-minute wait for a simple All-American breakfast with bacon. (I arrived and was on the waitlist at 10:30 AM check-in and did not receive any food till around 11:30. )Despite being reminded twice by the host staff, she failed to check on our table. My wait staff was off wandering around, trying to figure out how to use the checkout system at the counter, being confused and frustrated as we sat there and watched her and then she went back to the large group never coming back over to our table. We complained twice and on the second go round they had a separate server bring us some food. This was purely embarrassing for me in front of my guest as I told her how great this location was. When we finally addressed the extended wait time with her, instead of acknowledging the situation, she became defensive and claimed the delay was due to kitchen backup. As a frequent patron, I know your breakfast service is typically very efficient, making this explanation particularly concerning. I expressed my disappointment with a reduced tip of $2. While I understand everyone needs training, I respectfully request not to be seated in sections with staff in training, as they may struggle with restaurant systems and processes. More importantly, when things go wrong, they should feel empowered to ask for help rather than becoming defensive with customers. I continue to value Harry's as my regular breakfast spot and hope this feedback helps maintain the high standards I've come to expect. read more

This was my first time visiting Harry's. I was not familiar with how popular it was and I don't like wait times but my friend and I decided to stay. And boy am I glad I stayed! Once we received it, I really appreciated the level of service. We had the great quality of food the recommendations the overall atmosphere of the establishment and I will say That I have the lamb chops for breakfast and they were amazing. I would definitely say come here for breakfast or brunch make a reservation in advance or at least add yourself to the waitlist and just enjoy yourself and have a great time. read more

Delicious food great service and perfect vibe for family with kids. The kids menu is good we got pancakes and bacon for our twin girls (3 yo) and they loved it. Eggs Benedict were ok a little over cooked for my taste but flavor on point my husband got a pancake-omelette I can't remember the name he didn't love it it was dry it's a big omelette wrapped in a pancake, we're definitely coming back it's hard finding brunch places really kids-friendly and this so far our favorite read more

I met up with a friend here at around 8am on a Saturday, she got there before me to secure a seat and the food was good. Thankfully parking was NOT too hectic but I noticed as we were leaving that the restaurant was packed with a line outside and no space for parking so I would recommend an early breakfast if you're trying to beat the crowd. Im not a coffee drinker and wanted something warm, the waiter recommended their hot chocolate and I was a little hesitant because I didn't want a packet of hot chocolate mix given to me ( this has happened to me before) waiter insisted that it would be good so I ordered and was not disappointed at all. Very delicious, nice rich chocolate flavor and the whipped cream was Heaven. If you love hot chocolate, you'll love this! The eggs Benedict were okay, I have had better at other places, it may have been the large slice of ham that was underneath it, but over all the breakfast was good. I finished my plate and can't complain too much. I would return and try a different dish. read more

Highly recommend to all breakfast lovers! The flavors of the Larissa were perfection. I loved the Florentine so much I ordered one at another cafe weeks later, and it simple did not compare. I have never had a bad experience here. Brought some friends for their first time here. We sat outside. It's definitely a change of pace from inside the restaurant but not in a bad way. The food is a variety from across the globe. The choices are a variety from yuka croquettes to baklava french toast. I went with a croissant sandwich with chicken sausage. I did order a half avocado on the side which was $4.50. Ashley was our server and she was great. Very attentive. I've been here often and never have had a long wait experience or kind of bad service in regards to waiter checking on table. Came by today one thing I will say is Harry's good is always great HIGHLY recommend you try it if you're a good lover. Today we ordered chillaquiles divorciados,spicy chicken, homemade biscuit and the hotcakes plus some eggs. I've attached pictures food was great as always if you love chicken and waffles definitely order them here, I'd say it's better than The Breakfast Klub here in Houston all food is always at Harry's. See pictures below I highly recommend this place not sure what happened with the long wait took about 1 and 10 min to sit and about 50-1 hour for our food. The service was not the greatest as we had to keep telling waiter if we could have refills and we had to keep getting her attention something that shouldn't happen. I will say this it was busy but I've been here before busy and didn't receive this service I believe they were over whelmed so took about a lil over 2 hours for us to start eating. Enjoy if you stop by.Service just wasn't right today . Today is a Sunday . I'll update review next time . read more

I could not wait to try Harry's out. They are closed on Tuesday, so I made a return trip on Wednesday. Wow! What a waste of time and money. The waitress was absolutely horrible and the cooks were not far behind. It was obvious English was not her first language nor was she able to comprehend simple requests as in " can I get a napkin", "where is the ladies room", " I would like my meat medium ". Needless to say, my meat was overcooked. When i informed her of the dissatisfaction, she did her best to find " pink" in the meat, yet she failed. I wanted to show my unhappiness, but did not want to make a scene. I need complete refund because the meal was totally TRASH!! read more

I have eaten here many times. The food is always good. And until now the service was good as well. Two things have happened in the last month, that will make it so I won't return. First thing. I got there right when they opened. And sat at a table that seats 6. Mind you, the place was empty. As they had just opened. I ordered. Ate. And when I got the bill. They added 22% gratuity. I asked why they automatically added that much of a tip. And they said, you sat at a table to sits 6. I was like. Ok? Then last week, I walked in at the same time. Sat at a regular table. Ordered. Ate my food. Did a little paperwork for work. And was told that I had been at my table for almost two hours. And would have to leave. Again. The place was empty. Today was my first experience at Harry's and it was absolutely amazing. When I first walked in, I loved the little sign with some of the "rules", my favorite one mentioning kindness and being polite. The hostess was really welcoming and instantly sat my friend and I. The atmosphere was pretty busy but calm for a Monday. It was really really clean which I appreciated. The menu has lots of options but the most exciting part is the breakfast. My server Donnely was super helpful and really sweet. She made awesome suggestions and was very attentive throughout. As far as the breakfast, the French toast was AMAZING, it tastes like I made it at home. The home fries were super tasty. Everything was hot, it was great. I was really impressed with the quality of the food and how quickly it came out. The Caffeinated Greek was super delicious and I wish I could've taken one home. Overall, for my first visit at Harry's, I would give it a 10/10. read more

Birthday Breakfast Disappointment at Harry's - Poor Service, Misleading Menu, and Cold Food I visited Harry's on Wednesday, April 10th with my husband and daughter to celebrate my birthday. I had been looking forward to returning for some time, but unfortunately, our experience was a major disappointment. The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived, but the waitress rushed us to order before we even had a chance to open the menus. We ordered three coffees and asked for a few minutes to decide on our food. My husband noticed the menu offered "fresh squeezed orange juice with pulp"--something I love--so he encouraged me to order it. When it arrived, it looked like watered-down carton juice with no pulp at all. We both tasted it and agreed: this was not fresh squeezed. When I asked the waitress if it was truly fresh, she said they do squeeze it fresh, but they strain it because "most customers don't like pulp," and they also water it down. That completely contradicts what's advertised. We were polite, but she quickly got defensive, telling us they don't take anything back, especially juice, and not to even bother asking the manager. To make matters worse, we overheard her telling another staff member that I had called the juice "fake"--a word I never used. The manager (who we later realized is the owner) eventually came to the table. He spoke very quietly and confirmed they strain the juice, then said he'd take it off the bill--but he didn't. After that, the service went downhill. No one came to check on us, and the waitress became noticeably colder. The food itself was just as disappointing. The eggs were small and served cold, and the "llapingachos" (Ecuadorian potato pancakes) they're known for were absolutely not authentic llapingachos--just a poor imitation of what they used to serve before the remodel. To top it off, they automatically added an 18% gratuity for our party of three (with no mention of that policy), charged for warm water, and yes--still charged for the juice we were told would be removed. We left feeling let down, especially on a day that was meant to be joyful. Birthdays should feel special--not rushed, dismissed, and ignored. We've been loyal customers in the past, but sadly, we won't be going back. That said--we'll be celebrating again soon... somewhere that actually makes it feel special. read more

If you're on this side of town and want a change up from the "other breakfast diners" DOT would be where I stop. Fast, friendly service. Depending the food you get, it gets the job done for some sustenance to hold you over when you're not sure when your next meal is because you'll be in Galveston for 7 hours riding a float in the Mardi Gras parade.

Lone Star Review: Omelettes and micro-aggressions As a group of healthcare professionals coming off a long night shift, we were looking forward to a good breakfast and some much-needed hospitality. Unfortunately, our experience at Harry's was anything but welcoming. Despite there being plenty of available seating in the main dining area, we were escorted to a secluded room at the back of the restaurant. At first, we didn't think much of it -- until we noticed a disturbing pattern: all the patrons in this back room were people of color, while white guests were seated in the main area. The optics were undeniable and troubling. To make matters worse, our server was incredibly rude and dismissive. We were interrupted every few minutes with, "Are you done yet?" -- even as we were clearly still eating. This created a rushed and uncomfortable atmosphere, as if we were being pushed out before we could even enjoy our meal. Once we finally finished, we were quickly ushered out without a word of thanks or basic courtesy. As Black professionals who serve the public every day, it was disheartening to feel so disrespected and unwelcome in a space where we simply came to eat. Discrimination -- whether subtle or overt -- has no place in the service industry or anywhere else. I hope management at Harry's takes this feedback seriously and reflects on how their seating policies and staff behavior impact their diverse customers. We deserve better, and so does every guest who walks through those doors. read more

After leaving church on Sunday yesterday May 16, 2021 and driving for 35 minutes in the rain along with fighting construction and traffic in the parking lot of Harry's restaurant the following disappointment: As I was walking up past a crowded group of people half with masks on half without half under their chin half under their nose half around the ear I walked in only to be told you need to put your mask on, I said I don't have one With me and immediately I have the hostess open her drawer pull out a mask with her hand put her two fingers together attempted hand it to me "that is a $1.50 for each mask" I told her no thank you I don't need to do business here and spend my money." I understand everyone's got their prerogative but to look around and watch 80% of the people not wearing a mask or not properly wearing a mask and a hand a Mask from a drawer made no sense to me and then asked for $1.50. You just lost at least $250 as people are trying to get out of their cars to come in with our group plus the referral that sent me which I told him I've never go here again. If you want people to wear a mask and that your establishment requires then provide one. It's like asking for silverware that I have to provide in order to eat. read more

The servers were so polite and on it. As for the OWNER, very rude and racist. And I'm not pulling that race card rn. My friend and I walked in for brunch, she started by not even greeting us. But looking us up and down, then says scan code. She proceeded to seat us immediately right behind her. Mind the dining area is completely open. My friend and I sat there and watched how she not only turned down an all black family, but talked so I'll about them to another "yt" customer. 2 black women walked in with fairly similar outfits on as my friend and I . She looked them up and down and went to turn them away, the women pointed at us in response to the similar outfits. The owner turned around to us and rolled her eyes, scoffed at them then abruptly seated them. A group of "yt" women came in right behind them, with ease she greeted them, handed them menus and sat them. The last woman's breast were large an they were hanging out of her shirt. The food was not what I expected from what my buddies have raves about this place. The chicken and waffle at this place was horrible. Waffle dry and chicken not well seasoned. I know I should of gone to The Breakfast Klub for my chicken and waffles, but wanted to try this spot out. To top it off, with my dry waffle, the waitress only came to the table once and never ever ever came back to refill my drink. I was choking and she didn't give a flying monkey. I had breakfast at Harry's this morning, and it definitely lived up to the hype. There was a line when we arrived, which is always a good sign, and after eating there, I can see why--it's worth the wait! I went with my friend, his wife, and their three kids, and everyone's food was cooked to perfection. From the pancakes to the eggs and everything in between, every plate came out just right. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. Our waitress was pretty nice, attentive without being overbearing, and made sure we had everything we needed. ZERO STARS! HOST IS BEYOND RUDE!!!!!! Online reservation is meaningless as they DO NOT hold it. Lie about calling you. Believe they're anti-Semitic and intentionally gave our table away because of our name. A little bit of power gone awry with a minuscule man. I certainly will "do better". Next time, I will choose a restaurant that actually states the reservation hold time as well one that doesn't require a police officer manning the door.
