Craving sushi for a while now and I remembered that Harris Teeter runs a $5 special on certain sushi rolls every Friday. I was not disappointed. The sushi was freshly prepared in front of me. Conveniently across the street from my job, it is my preferred grocery store to shop at for my lunch. Because of its location, this Harris Teeter is fully stocked and well kept. I came during peak lunch hour and the self checkout lanes were open with no line forming. Harris Teeter parking is shared with other stores at the Arboretum Shopping center. Plenty of parking spots at any time of the day. This Harris Teeter location seems to always have friendly staff members ready to help customers as well as stocking and making sure carts are always cleaned, dried and ready to be used. read more

They could maybe orient their marketing and product choices to more demographics beyond the the straight white southerner with massive lifestyle health issues crowd. But it seems impossible for this grocery chain. After viewing their candy aisle selection (which had like 20-40g of added sugar per serving...despite sugar free candy being widely available at many other stores elsewhere), I asked a store associate if they had an aisle with any sugar free candy products that weren't designed to target diabetics wanting to commit suicide, and she said no. She didn't even have any clue about the dangers her store continues to pose to customers with dangerous blood sugar issues. I lived in California for 10 years, and my Harris Teeter experience in the Carolina's for the past 3 years has been such a source of my embarrassment for and concern for the people of the American South. Me and more successful people like me may need to just move away and take our tax returns and spending $$ away from this uneducated place. read more

Attended their grand opening for the wine bar and it was awesome. The whole concept of being able to enjoy a drink in the middle of a grocery store is so cool. They had a bunch of free food samples as well as beer and wine samples. Staff were amazing. read more

My closest supermarket is a Publix and I've been going there for a few years but I was over in this neighborhood and had fond memories of Harris Teeter. I will stick with Publix but man, HT gets it all right. Yes, HT is a bit more expensive but it is a fabulous shopping experience. This store was bright, well maintained and just about perfect. The produce area was colorful, stocked and visually appealing. We went through the rest, picking up some snacks and drinks. Dairy, canned goods, deli, bakery, it's good stuff here. This Harris Teeter is usually my go to since I live by the Arboretum, but last night I had stopped in at 10:30pm (30 minutes before 11pm closing) to quickly grab one item. I approach a heavy set young man with the name tag: Von, to ask where the item is and before I can say anything, with an angry face he says "why are you here so late?!?!", gives me a look and walks passed me without listening to what I have to say. I was very surprised as I didn't see anything wrong with going in 30 minutes before closing, it is a super market, not a sit-down restaurant. I go to self checkout two minutes later to check out and he is there. He gives me an annoyed look and stands there scrolling on his phone. I check out and walk out of the store very upset with the unexpected interaction. I called the manager, Michelle, who was very nice helped me out and apologized on his behalf. However, I am now put off from going to that certain Harris Teeter knowing that kid will be working there. read more

If i could have selected zero stars i would have. I ordered two corsages for a father/daughter dance. One corsage broke/fell apart within 15 minutes of putting it on. I called and spoke with Donovan. He informed me that they didn't have a florist still on site but that he could try to make a new one. I drive back to the store and am told there is nothing they can do. A manager Damion responds similar to Donovan "there's no florist, there's nothing we can do!" I'm in shock and absolutely appalled by the lack of customer service. A simply apology would have been nice. I had to request a refund, it wasn't even offered. Avoid this store and chain. Their customer service is horrid! read more

I stop here once a week and the parking lot and traffic are not great. Store is clean and well stocked usually. Not enough check out lanes open and there's a line at self checkout even in the middle of the day. The worst part is the deli workers generally have a bad attitude. My Last visit to the deli - worker had on headphones and was annoyed that customers were interrupting their day. Also, Very poor communication skills. read more

A typical Teeter, which means a good meat department and deli, decent produce, clean overall and friendly and attentive service. It even houses a little mom and pop Chinese and Thai to-go joint called Chi Thai and a comfortable Starbucks. The biggest problem for me is its crowded, hectic location at the Arboretum. Good location but the parking lot can be busy. They have a good selection of produce. I was having trouble finding something and a worker walked by and could tell I was needing help and immediately jumped in and told me where the item was. The lines were a little long and someone jumped in and told me to go to their line they were about to open. I would come here again if I was in the area. read more

ALLI, MARIA, and all of the ladies working here are INCOMPETENT. 2ND Pyzer Shot was scheduled 2 weeks in advance. Took time off from work... but they said they had no Phyzer shot available. Also suggested mixing with Moderna. When I tried to have them call another Pharmacy they treated me like a Karen... threatened police. The manager of the store asked another Pharmacy to help us... the manager of the Pharmacy just wanted to fight... Alli the INCOMPETENT.... while the others giggled like little children. Nice grocery store!! Surprisingly has it all. They have a Starbucks, a hot dog stand, a Thai restaurant inside the place, a pizza place, and even a salad bar. This is the place to be!! The Thai restaurant is really not that good as far as the soup goes. I got the Tom Kha soup and was disappointed. read more

I'm so appalled by this pharmacy they denied my 10 year old a Covid vaccine today. Asked for my insurance card which I gave them and the rude woman told me we have to have a pharmacy card. Anyone is entitled to a Covid vaccine they should be encouraging this not scaring people away. Absolutely appalling lost my business! Shame on them read more

This is my local teeter and until about a month ago I was a happy camper - well-stocked, lots of amenities and very good customer service. Well, I guess it was good while it lasted - in the last month inventory has started getting sparse and customer service is now abysmal . Long lines at checkout, no service people to ask questions and a general level of mediocrity that makes me wonder if the new corporate owners are trying to run the brand into the ground. I look forward to the new Whole Foods and Publix opening nearby - maybe competition will help! read more

As a harris teeter customer, I know I shop here for great service and great selection. However, my last 5 visits are all disappointments at checkout. There are over 13 checkout lanes but only two cashier's working to take care of the customers after 6pm. This is unacceptable for a Harris teeter. Please see my photo of the unmanned checkout lanes. I pay more to shop at Harris teeter and I hope in the future changes are made to have more cashiers. This wasn't a one time issue, it has happened at least 5 times. read more

As the previous poster reported, the Morrocroft Harris Teeter (aka Taj Mah Teeter) seems to get all the attention locally, but in my humble opinion my neighborhood HT in the Arboretum is the tops! The store is spacious, never short on inventory (which can lead to great deals, see below), and easy to navigate through. I also think the service you get at this store is a cut above other Teeter's I have frequented in the past. Being one of the larger (and I beleive earlier opening) stores they seem to get a lot of new products/bars before other stores, such as the Pizza grill that I've seen other stores open just recently. I'm a hound for deals, and I always find the most coupons and discounted items at the Arboretum HT. I highly recommend scanning the store on a Tuesday evening, as you will find the best deals on their meat products as they cut prices to roll out new inventory for the next week's sales. As if the grocery store itself wasn't enough, there's even a separate business for Thai takeout located in the front of the store. I've only tried it once, but it was delicious and reasonably priced! If you live in south Charlotte, you really need to try this HT out! read more

This is one of the larger HTs in the area. The downside to this is that it can be difficult to find what you are looking for. The upside is that they have an excellent selection of everything that you could possibly want. My favorite grocery store!! Friendly people great selection, and they always have great deals.

I have been coming to this store since it opened. To this day, it's one of the most clean and friendly stores. The employees are always very helpful. The Starbucks there is one of the higher functioning stores I've seen located in a Harris Teeter. Samples are out frequently for you to try. The pharmacy staff is exceptional. I switched to this pharmacy after being with CVS over 10 yrs. They always go above and beyond to help with any prescription issues I have. Just a great store. read more

I don't often give a 5 star review to a grocery store but when one is warranted, I will give it. Note, this review is for the Harris Teeter at Arboretum only. The story goes like this. I have never been a salad bar person but after a heart attack 3 months ago, I am eating healthier now which includes at least 3 salads a week. I can never rely on the HT at Colony & Rea as they are usually out of Romaine lettuce by 3pm and will not refill until the next day (so they told me). I really enjoy the Calico Bean Salad which the few Harris Teeters I go to have on the salad bar. And it's Cardiologist approved! So here recently the salad bars at Colony & Rea, and Arboretum discontinued the Calico Bean Salad at the salad bar. Yes I was a bit miffed but it is typical for me it seems to find things I like and then have them discontinued. And life goes on and I live with it. But yesterday I decided to ask about this at the HT customer service desk at the Arboretum. The wonderful lady tried to get my answer, even left her post to look for a produce manager, but he had already left. She took my name and phone number, which I was sort of reluctant to give but what the heck, and today I received a phone call from the produce manager saying that he now has the Calico Bean Salad back at the salad bar. Wow! I was impressed! I hope they think twice before discontinuing it next time. read more

We moved to North Carolina from NY in 1994. Since that time we have been loyal customers of the Arboretum HT but that ends today. We pre ordered (4) 1 1/2 lb. lobsters for Christmas. When my wife went to pick them up they did not have our order. So we ended up with a mix and match of (2) 2lb lobsters and 2 1 1/4lb chicken lobsters which are more bother than they are worth. When my wife brought them home I told her she should not have taken them and talked to the Mgr. She called the seafood dept when she got home and of course we cannot exchange the 2 small ones for(2) 2 pounders. And the sense of ordering in advance is? This is just one of the issues we have with the store. Two weeks ago I had one person ahead of me in line. When that person was finished I was ready to start checking out. The clerk looked at me and said ABRUPTLY I AM CLOSED and turned and walked away. Most times I (we) are forced to do our own scanning because you don't pay enough clerks to eliminate the long lines. You charge PREMIUM prices for substandard service. We are moving to publix where people still believe in treating customers right. read more

Awesome service every time, they always have great promotions, and if they are ever out of something on sale, they will substitute something else or provide a raincheck. This is my neighborhood Harris teeter and I dread going shopping here. Never buy produce it is always moldy and the salads are always old. We have gotten cake slices that tasted like they had cleaning stuff baked into them. Check your bread bags and frozen items I have had more than one instance where the item has a hole in the bag or has already been open. Can never find anyone to help you in the store. Always plan on spending 30min in the checkout line. They never have enough lines for the amount of people and and the process is super slow. They are way over priced for the store quality. The only positive is that the employees are very nice. I run into Walmart to grab quick items so that I don't have to deal with the horror of this store. read more
