I've never been a huge Trader Joe's person. It seems like they have a lot of specialty products, but not a huge variety of regular stuff. I decided to stop by to try to get some of their ube stuff I had seen online. I was able to find the Ube Mochi which we liked. The other reason I'm not a big TJs fan is that it just seems chaotic. It's usually crowded and I personally can't ever seem to find what I'm looking for in the store with how it's organized. The parking situation here is similarly chaotic to me. It's small and hard to navigate. I'm sure the die hard fans will disagree with me, but I probably won't be back until I see something else online that's interesting enough to pull me in. read more

When I buy wine, I regularly go to Trader Joe's first, as they have some wine experts that are very helpful. And their prices are wonderfully low compared to the boutique shops. As I am looking at their array of bottles, usually one of the wine people come up to ask if they can help. I talk with them and they recommend. Then I buy two bottles of each recommended wine. Once home, one of each of those recommended bottles is set aside for an appropriate meal, with the other bottles stored out of the way. We try those bottles first. If we like them, I have another bottle at home that I can use as a reminder and to get that specific wine when I shop next. If we don't like the wine, I can take it back to Trader Joe's and will be given credit for the amount I paid, on my card, or I can exchange that wine for another. My call and the cashiers are non-plussed about these transactions, as Trader Joe's has an excellent return policy. I love that business. And they regularly stock lots of different wines. read more

A short queue outside at 8:50 AM and that was completely gone within five minutes of the store opening on the dot at 9:00 AM. Carts were at a premium. Masks required for entry. Inside, the store was busy (it was at the legal capacity) with folks going both ways down the one-way aisles and getting entirely too close to each other. I found a few great items that we love, including the chocolate covered potato chips, chocolate covered espresso beans, some frozen gyoza and the fabulous Israeli feta cheese (it's in a blue container, can't miss it). Checkout was efficient and quick. Back outside again, they were wiping down carts. There is also a table for folks who want to put their purchases into reusable shopping bags. Tip: Park in the back. THE PEOPLE, should know that Trader Joe's is working with Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos to sue the National Labor Relations Board. The NRLB protects workers the right to organize, prevents unfair labor practices, helps facilitate union elections, enforces collective bargaining rights, restores workers rights, and aids in education. It is a critical safeguard to ensure that employees can advocate for better working conditions and treatment without fear of retaliation. The issue I have with this specific location is the parking can be horrendous at times and they can get out of stock easily certain times of the day. The employees are very helpful. It will no longer be a problem because I will no longer be shopping at Traitor Joe's. read more

Probably the worst run Trader Joe's I've ever visited.... and I've visited a lot of them. There appears to be a huge staff. They're always restocking the shelves and they are oblivious to the customer. A lot of time they're chitchatting among themselves and blocking access to the food. Oftentimes, they stack boxes everywhere during their restocking efforts, and it's virtually impossible to get to the shelves as a customer. They are nice enough people, but they're oblivious to the customer. Additionally, they are blasting music at an incredibly loud level, and most of it is utter crap. So you're trying to make your way around huge amounts of boxes, stacked everywhere and staff that are standing in your way while the music is Q blaring. It's probably time for a change of management to get the store functioning again. read more

I love Trader Joe's. Even though I had to park across the street in the parking lot of the walking trail. My only critique is that one of the employees wouldn't let me have several empty wine boxes. Is there a shortage? Where TJs excels is in how their cashier's don't go at a snail's pace when checking people out. The store can be filled with people but there are never long lines. Unfortunately the South Charlotte store's miserable parking lot & store layout have only been made worse by their COVID gorilla tactics! FREE SPIRIT in Hawaiian shirts has been replaced by RULES & enforcers! Oh and the nuts. Loved their nuts until I recently picked up a bag of pumpkin seeds from EITHER "Mexico or Guatemala." I never write reviews, but I HAVE to praise this Trader Joe's. If you're a mom and you're not shopping here, you're doing it wrong. I have a 6 month old and a 2.5 year old and I'm usually shopping with at least one of them . Someone insists on walking out with me every time to help load up my bags and return the cart. Don't get me started on if it's raining... they will escort you to your car with an umbrella. I just can't say enough about the incredible customer service they ALWAYS provide. While in the area recently I decided to make a stop at this Trader Joe's, which isn't my typical location. However, just like every other Trader Joe's I've been stored, this store was well stocked with employees everywhere to assist with questions as well as restocking items. This location can get crowded, especially on the weekends, but it is worth and visit, based on what they offer and the customer service you receive. read more

So to start, they should make parking in this location an Olympic sport. TJ's is the only parking lot where I don't get mad at the SUV's taking up a parking space and a half...I actually respect it. Now that you've "won the gold" of the Parking Olympics, grab a cart and onto event number two...navigate TJ's with a shopping cart. It's a challenge but worth every bump and "excuse me". From the staff to the foods you will not be disappointed. So we visited this Trader Joe's store in the evening about an hour before they closed. I have been here only a few times and wanted to show my dad the different variety of foods you can get here specially the variety of organic foods. We were not disappointed with the variety at this location. Before we walked in, I was happy to see powered carts available for .those with disabilities. My dad is a disabled veteran so that was a huge bonus that they have those powered carts and that there were many available. When we first walked in, we noticed the beautiful plants and garden accessories that adorn the front the store. We wanted one of all those beautiful plants! As we began walking around we smelt an excellent coffee aroma coming from the back of the store. The store had a free sample area with coffee and cookie samples! We couldn't resist and picked out a great medium roast coffee. Also, i couldn't believe the great price of under $5.00 for a box of their Keurig versions of the coffee! What a great deal because it tastes so good even better than much more expensive coffee's in other stores. My dad thought it might a good idea to see if they sold coconut oil. I asked a clerk in the back of the store and she walked me to the product! Wow, it's so rare to find good service like that but this store definitely goes the extra mile. She took me right to the coconut oil and they even had TWO VERSIONS on the shelf! We bought both! As we headed back up front we noticed they have quite a selection of great frozen dinners. Also this store has a unique and amazing selection of peanut butters. They have, no kidding, sunflower seed butter and cashew butter! Can't wait to try those! As we checked out, there were chocolates and candles that smelt incredible right at the checkout. Those were very tempting. I highly recommend shopping here and at least try out the different variety of foods even if organic isn't your thing. We loved it! The store also had quite a selection of wines for a store that's on the small side. I gave this store 4 stars out of 5 only because the size of this store is small but still it's an excellent store with great service! read more

I always love my journey to Trader Joe's. I call it a journey because it takes a solid 20 minutes to get there. But it's worth the long travel time for "groceries". Mostly because they have SO much you can't get elsewhere and they're prices are typically very reasonable, with the exception of their meats, I think those are a bit over priced. But no worries, plenty of other goodies and delicacies to throw in the cart. I absolutely love the tasting counter. While I have passed on some of their offerings, I will never pass in a good cup of Joe, always available. This little cup of complimentary coffee makes the chore of shopping so much more relaxed and enjoyable, especially when fighting through the crowd of TJ regulars. A location closer to my home would have me visiting more frequently and likely purchasing the majority of my regularly stocked food items, but for now, I will settle on driving the distance to enjoy all they have to offer! read more

Friendly and well stocked. The customer service here is Top Notch as the staff go above and beyond to ensure that every customer is Happy. We have shopped this Trader Joes for three years and counting (since moving to NC) and they never cease to amaze me. I had my son Nov.2014 and while shopping in Feb.2015 the staff noticed that the baby was born and presented me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers as a baby gift. I was so excited and appreciative I nearly cried. The veggies and fruit are priced great and very tasty and fresh. I like the fact that if something isn't to your liking once you get home you can return it with no issues nor receipt (I try to keep my receipts but it's good to know if I lost it I would be okay while returning something). Wine tastings on the weekend are always perfect and we just discovered this weekend that there is a parking lot out back WHO KNEW??! We totally sit in the front lot and wait for a space and the lot was our only disregard about Trader Joes but now knowing that there is a lot out back I think they deserve all 5 stars I'm providing :-) read more

The way that they are making us all feel safe in this climate of Covid-19, I wish other markets did the same. Were the lines long to get in?? Absolutely but there was no need to get upset or frustrated. They have a team outside directing us and updating as we move along. There's also a greeter at the front asking is with a smile what is it that we are looking for and giving us the least amount of people in the aisles to start from. COVID-19 Review. Thank you guys for being on the front lines. Working extra hard. But SHAME on management for not allowing its customers to home shop like virtually EVERY OTHER GROCERY STORE!! I was there 3 weeks ago (3/27/20) and there was a sick kid who was brought in by his mother coughing his head off! Everyone stopped to watch this poor toddler and give the evil eye to his selfish mother. Why can't Trader Joe's arrange home shop? They wouldn't have to reinvent the wheel! Every other store is doing it. They could charge us $10 extra per order. In doing this they would radically reduce the number of folks in the store and protect their so called "beloved" employees and customers! They could do something small like set up a gmail account called "nctraderjoes@gmail.com" and let us email them our lists. They could call us back with the totals and we could give them our credit card info over the phone. Then they could tell us when to come by, we pop the trunk, they load us up and we are gone. It's not rocket science or innovative! I am extremely disappointed that TJs of all stores is not ahead of this game. They have already had employees get sick. read more

Amazing service Affordable groceries Speciality stuff Three reasons I love this place ! If you haven't shopped at Trader Joe's - well that's a shame! This grocery store is awesome. The produce is so affordable, the speciality items are awesome and the employees are passionate about helping make your experience the best ! The specific items I love are too many to mention but I can admit that the frozen food isle finds me filling up my basket and especially the cookies. Those delicious maple cookies own me. The bananas are so cheap here and the nuts and snack choices are wonderful. There is so many nuts and dried fruits to choose from. We love Trader Joe's. The one thing that makes it hard to shop at Trader Joe's is the parking. You have to really be careful and be prepared to park a ways away if you want to keep your wits about you - otherwise your nerves could be seriously challenged. Nothing worse than getting upset before you get out of your car to go in the store! My family and I had to lay our cat to rest today. She was 15 years old and painfully suffering from a very aggressive cancer. After burying her in the cold winter ground, we thought some flowers might help. So I went to this Trader Joe's and picked out some beautiful yellow flowers. I so love Trader Joe's and almost only shop here. I love near the Read Road location. They are so amazing. They are really handling everything with stellar service and care for their associates and the first who shop there. They open at 8am and close at 7pm. However, between 8am and 9am they only allow seniors in and between 9am and 10am they only allow disabled. Which is so amazing. They have marked lines for distance outside the store to ensure everyone stays 6ft apart. They talk to you and sometimes tells you jokes while you stand online. They ask you where in the store you will be shopping so they can ensure that the area is cleared and doesn't have too many shoppers to ensure distancing. They are wiping down the carts. They hand you hand sanitizer when you leave and take your cart. They are not allowing anyone to bring in their own bags. If you want to use your own bag they will allow you to take your food out of the store in the cart and you can fill your bags outside. This is to prevent contamination and keep everyone safe. They only have every other register open to keep distancing in place. The registers have plastic barriers for the cashiers and they have drawn a box on the floor to show you where to stand for checkout. They have people placed around the store for assistance and it never feels too crowded. I have tried to go to other stores and didn't feel safe and walked out. Trader Joe's is really doing the best job. The employees are still happy and kind even through all of this. They are really amazing. The lines do get long trying to get in but they go kind of quick. I normally go towards the end of the day near closing time. If you are on mine by 7 they will allow you to enter. read more
