I've been a H-T customer for nigh on 50+ years. I grew up in Matthews, location of Corp HQ before it sold to Kroger. I'm a Vic card member. I worked/lived in Northern Va for 15 years and would drive distances to do my grocery shopping there. BUT, this location is without a doubt THE most challenging location. For many reasons. The store lay out is like a jig saw puzzle. In no way does it follow the layout of all the other stores I've been to. The WORST part is the entry/exit and parking. Most every time I've been, there is always a near miss with someone pushing a cart with everything but groceries in the driveway entrance/exit. The most recent experience is why I finally decided to post this review as a WARNING. Beware, there are people who act as though they are trying to get hit. You can draw your own conclusions as to why but it's a fact. Yesterday, this person is approaching the entry crossing pushing a cart. I'm making a right turn off Central into the lot. We make eye contact, they stop as I inch closer into the entry way...then they STOP right in the middle of the crossing and act like they are pulling up their PANTS off the ground. There are vehicles behind me on the horn because they can't see what's going on. It's a highly dense, intense traffic location. On every side there are pedestrians, cyclers, dog walkers and people pushing carriages. read more

As a common Harris Teeter shopper, this location became a quick go to after moving in the area. Although parking May be rough, the store offers everything others do, including a Starbucks. Staff is always friendly and again a great convenience for me when I need to run and grab a few things. read more

One of the nicest grocery store/ Harris Teeter I have ever been to. It is 2 storage high and it is bright and clean and organized. During holiday they have great decoration to get you to buy more gifts. Seems like frozen isle is large than other store but fresh items are less for some reason. read more

The woman making sub sandwiches was very rude and non accommodating. She said she couldnt do half and half meat on a sub because it was cause the store to lose money, but she could mix the meats on the sub. I didnt give any push back or attitude, just went with the solution that she offered. She seemed even more irritated after deciding to mix the meats, and proceeded to put a ton of mayonnaise on my sandwhich. I do love the subs here but she just always has an attitude read more

Came here on my lunch break looking for hot food options. Their selection actually looked really good. I knew there would be rotisserie chicken and the usual salad bar but this store also had a station for Asian cuisine. The store was rather clean and well staffed. The other customers were rather friendly. It wasn't my first time in a Harris Teeter but my first time in this location and I will say it left a really good impression. read more

Unfortunately this is my neighborhood grocery store so I resort to shopping here more frequently than I'd like. Occasional deals on things which are nice and they are generally stocked on items but employees here are not the best and the parking situation is atrocious. Always so jammed up and crowded if coming at lunch or in the evening. People working the deli/seafood counters are extremely lazy and take forever. One time the guy working the meat counter refused to cut us a piece of meat and told us to come back at 7 am when they opened the next morning when it clearly stated they were still open. read more

I am a Team Harris Teeter fan, but this location is my least favorite in Charlotte! It's super close to me so I try to keep giving it a chance, but I'm about to start driving further to another one instead. First off, I recently ordered groceries online to be picked up on a later date. My pickup time was "3:30-4pm" so I decided to get there right at 4pm assuming it would be ready. The poor girl they sent out to tell me they hadn't even started shopping for me yet I felt so bad for- it definitely wasn't her fault and I appreciate the kindness she showed me! But I did need the groceries that day, so I waited in my car for 30 more minutes while they did my order. By that point I could've ran in myself and got everything, so I may rethink ordering ahead next time. I also get frustrated by how unorganized this Harris teeter is. I feel like everything is all over the place and adds way more time to each shopping trip. The staff's attitude is very 50/50 when I ask for help finding items inside as well. Since this is up the street from me I'm sure I'll be back, but I do hope I get better experiences next time. read more

A little disappointed at how how the store is handling (or lack there of) the most recent mask mandate for the county. Despite the sign on the front door saying "mask required" and the employee monitoring the front door, I still counted 5 idiots waking around with no face covering! Perhaps they came in the other entrance by Starbucks? There shouldn't be this much opportunity for error. I even saw one customer right near the deli counter without a mask on, and no one said anything. I am not trying to get into an argument with anyone not wearing a mask.. so I rely on the employees to do their job and use their authority to make sure rules are followed. Frustrated. read more

The Harris Teeter Deli is one of my absolute favorites. A foot long sub is $6.99 and some are half off on certain days. Our go to sandwich is the Italian sub! It's juicy and flavorful and super filling. Such a cheap lunch/dinner option! read more

I was kind of excited to check out this Harris Teeter judging from the outside. The outside looks huge and really fancy. The parking lot is kind of a disaster. Maybe it was just when we were there but it seemed to be a traffic jam with 10 cars all honking while trying to get out. The inside seems big, but not very well organized. The produce section is very spread out. That seems to be similar throughout the store. The space seems big, they just didn't utilize it well. My favorite part is the dining area. They have some tables downstairs and then there's a second floor as well with a patio! Overall, it's an ok Harris Teeter, I just wasn't a fan of the layout. read more

This would be rated higher if the customer service didn't suck. There are a few people that are awesome that work here, but most of the cashiers are rude and don't seem like they want to work. A young man named Sam was the absolute worst so far, he did not acknowledge us in anyway or say one word to me the whole time. Even when it was time to pay, he didn't tell me my total he just stood there and looked at me. The bagger James also never acknowledged us or offered help out. We came to Harris Teeter to purchase King crab legs, spent almost $100 on little less than 2 lbs. Upon cooking them today they smell spoiled and inedible. I'm very upset as I would expect a well known establishment to take better care of their seafood and not serve if not good enough. My family and I could've gotten sick due to this issue. Do NOT go to this Harris Teeter. I picked up my groceries and pizza order from nearby. I returned in under an hour to my car with my Harris Teeter grocery bag and take out pizza as they were putting a boot on my car. The man refused to look at my receipt or grocery bag that showed I was a Harris Teeter customer and had to pay $250. Another man who came back from the grocery store with his bags as well received a boot and had to pay $250 - he never went anywhere other than Harris Teeter. read more

The worst grocery store ever. The cashiers are miserable and rude. The parking sucks. We only come because my husband likes the meat selection. The cashier named Rain waited on us the other day. She never acknowledged us the entire time. She didn't smile or anything just nasty. I was purchasing wine, she carded me and didn't card the lady buying alcohol in front of me. It's clean, well lot, has a large selection and pretty good prices. Not much else you can ask for from a grocery store. They also have an awesome deli and pizza counter that serves tasty items and really good prices. Even the breakfast sandwiches are pretty good! read more

I've shopped HT for 20+ years, so they hit a lot of my hot buttons: big selection, decent sales, large wine inventory. I just don't get, however, their insistence on stocking shelves during peak times, the long register lines (note to the marketing gods, I loathe self check out), and tight parking lots with all the best spots sporting restricted signs. My review may cost my Elite 2017 status, but it seems that after Kroger bought them, my experience has suffered. Please do better, please. read more

Definitely different from the rest. The store is so clean, well organized and fully stocked. All of the employees are very friendly and helping. I was throughly impressed. HORRIBLE PRODUCE SECTION. Purchased bagged salad and produce yesterday. My apples have already started to go bad and my bagged salad was 7 days past the expiration date. Good spot for a Teeter really. PM needs a good reliable grocery store. It makes for a sweet spot to pick up a bite to eat before a night of fun at the many nearby bars. Or if you're feeling like a responsible adult you can still grab groceries too. They get slammed here. Not sure if they ever keep all registers open. The main section of registers is at what I call the "back" of the store. Basically not the part on the corner of Central and The Plaza. I guess it would make for a more logical layout if registers were on this side where most folks will find themselves entering the store. Right by the Starbucks and the outdoor dining patio. Otherwise, it's what you've come to expect from Harris Teeter. If you can get over the crowds and the abysmal parking situation this isn't such a bad place to come. But I recommend only coming here if you live close enough that you can walk or bike over. Otherwise it's the same expensive experience of any other Harris Teeter with twice the headache. Once inside, we saw that it's a full size one with all the proper departments including their excellent produce, personal care, meat, frozen and the like. Went into this store to pick up dinner so I purchased a whole pizza from their fresh food department. After getting back to my apartment I ate half a slice and noticed a thick black curly hair that almost resembles a pube. I emailed the store manager explaining my experience in which has been over a month so now I will let the world know rather than dealing with the situation privately. This is one of the smaller ones but I always find a deal. today I got 2 packs of 12 cupcakes. Normally $8.99 each, but the trick is to look in the frozen area of the bakery. I found 2 packs $6.99 each! Score! I also picked up some beautiful roses for the home. While there are no samples and you really have to order fruit/veggie/cheese and meat trays ahead of time, I still find what I need here and can usually find a good deal. I really want to love this Harris Teeter and most of the time I enjoy coming here. I would consider it a more "upscale" version of Harris Teeters in Charlotte but experience with an older woman working the sub counter has completely changed my mind. I got there at 8:35 and after looking at the menu(a sticker on the glass) I decided on two breakfast sandwiches. You can choose spicy chicken, bacon or sausage with your choice of croissant, roll, biscuit or bagel. I ordered "yes can I get a bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant and a sausag-" "The sausage is frozen this morning." "Oh, ok. Well can I get bacon and egg on a biscuit?" "We don't have biscuits. We rarely ever have biscuits" And she said all of this with an attitude. As she was finishing up my sandwich, I noticed another sticker-menu for cinnamon rolls. I hesitated, but eventually asked if I could get one of those as well. "We don't have those." OH OKAY. So you serve breakfast from 7:00am-11:00am but at 8:45 you have no biscuits, no sausage and no cinnamon rolls? And you're rude to ME about not having what's on your menu? You would think I was at McDonald's honestly. I took my breakfast sandwich and took the rest of my morning business next door to Starbucks. Not only do they need to work on the way they handle breakfast, they need to train their employees on how to speak to customers. read more

I have always loved this Teeter more than most. The parking is sort of limited, but totally worth it! The store is kept very well stocked and fresh samples are available in the fruit section daily. The lines at the cash registers are typically long, but they do offer a self-checkout section. The produce is always fresh and the wines/beers are always exciting to browse. You an even buy a case of beer and mix and match the case depending on which local beers you may want to try. One thing I did NOT like to see at my last visit was a bottle of cleaning solution dripping into the olive case. I understand they need to clean everything, but the food needs to be removed prior to cleaning. I am not a fan of drinking cleaning solutions. Overall, I'd revisit this store time and time again. Well, maybe except for the olive bar (and I LOVE olives). read more

I'm not from the area so when BF and I were looking for a grocery store, we found this place on Yelp and didn't realize it was a grocery store when we drove by. The storefront for this location is very big with tall windows. It does not look like your standard grocery store (at least not in the West coast) from the street. This place looks pretty new. Once inside, this store is very big with a high ceiling. There is even a cafe area on the second floor. We were primarily there to pick up some wine. The wine section was easy to find. The selection could have been better, but this is a grocery store after all. We went to pick up some cheese to pair with the wine and was impressed with their huge cheese selection. There are two entrances to the store; one facing the street and one in the back where the main parking lot is. And there are cashiers at each entrance. The employees at Harris Teeter are hit or miss. They make you not want to spend your money there and not having the litte carry carts available is very inconvenient especially for senior citizens. I asked for one of the associates for her carry cart since there were none available and she said she was using it! She could of used the shopping cart she had the carry cart in!!!! RUDE. This morning, I wrote a long review of this HT but somehow deleted it. I'm actually happy about that because having just returned from yet another irritating shopping effort, I'm glad to share some thoughts that I believe will resonate with someone. 99% of the employees are pleasant and professional. They work hard and are customer-service savvy. The Corporate Managers need to take notice. These employees are their strongest asset. The low score of 2 stars has nothing to do with employees and everything to do with Corporate's mishandling of what was a great place to shop. Sadly, since Kroger bought HT, my Harris Teeter has taken quite a nosedive, in what appears to be a corporate effort to increase profits. Here are some ideas that might be smart to consider. Stop moving the stock! In this bizarre world, it is reassuring to know that my food will be waiting on its usual shelf, not halfway across the store. Relocating canned fruits does not make shopping more exciting. Gliding past a bunch of stuff while I am trying to find what I came to buy does not make me buy more things I do not want. I'm not at the grocery to be entertained by clever merchandise placement! Build a parking deck. Development in our neighborhood is adding thousands of apartments and condos. Most likely, all these people are not going to walk or ride their bikes to HT and carry their stuff home in backpacks or baskets. Stop designating parking spots for every category of person who should rightfully be honored. Many Vets and moms/dads with children are able to get around very well. Put out only fresh produce. Even on special, a wrinkled old cucumber or spoiling clementine is not something most customers will buy, much less eat. Provide delivery of adequate stock from warehouse to stores. If you're having a sale or double coupons, it follows that fearful and thrifty customers will clean you out the first day! That's it! read more

Not exactly my favorite Harris Teeter. I have been here many times and they are always out of at least one thing that I need. Every...single...time. No joke. The parking lot is extremely congested and difficult to navigate around. There is almost never a space and you have to drive around and stalk people down to get their spot. Never ever use this pharmacy!! I have used this pharmacy since it was remodeled and have shopped this Harris Teeter since I moved to Charlotte. The pharmacy was great in the beginning. The pharmacist were great along with all the assistants. Fast forward many years and now they have messed up so many of my prescriptions. Never call to get any prescriptions renewed. Fill three month perspiration's with a one month supply. I have never been so upset with customer service in my life. This is life and death. I have been without a prescription for a week that my doctor sent over months ago. I am now sick. They gave my husband a one month supply for a 90 day prescription. Never use this pharmacy, ever! Imagine not being able to get your medication and being out for over a week to be told they have no idea what you are talking about. Ridiculous!! read more

One of the cleanest grocery stores I've been to in a long time! I was amazed at how everything shines, the floor was sparkling. All of the glass cases had been recently squeegied, devoid of fingerprints. The store was not too overpriced. I saw some beers priced cheaper than I'd seen them at local smaller markets. The food seemed a bit on the high end, and their selection was a bit on the smaller side. The staff was friendly and got us checked out while joking with us the entire time. I was a bit taken aback that they want you to have a shopper ID card, so they can track the number of cans of tuna you buy. I guess you get a discount if you have one. The worst thing about this place is the parking. We circled and circled, looking for a spot, finally finding the furthest spot possible. The store is located on a hard corner, so it's a bit difficult to find a space. The best thing was the fact that you can just come in here and grab a coffee and a meal to go. They have a great salad bar, and lots of premade options. read more
