    CVS in Epicentre, Uptown Charlotte
    Bruce K.

Full-service CVS that is located in the Epicentre. They have everything that your more suburban CVS has short of a drive through. Cosmetics, personal care items, over-the-counter medications, a full service pharmacy, drinks and snacks, photo developing, all of that. On this particular visit, the pharmacist was polite and helpful. My order was rung up quickly and, dammit, on the way out I spotted some chocolate that I had to bring home for my wife. Self-checkout works great.

CVS is CVS but this one is conveniently located in the center of the Epicentre, making it somewhat prime real estate. Surrounded by entertainment and eateries this CVS holds its own by offering a plethora of snacks for the low, toiletries, hair care products, wine, chocolate, fruit, greeting cards, beauty cosmetics, socks, chips, dips, and self-checkout (except one is down at the present moment). If you don't have a CVS Reward card and want that special priced item; fret not they have courtesy cards. ~Christy

I think it's safe to say that many of you know what CVS is and what they carry. So, let's get down to the brass tacks regarding this particular CVS... 1) It's in EpiCentre. I can only imagine how convenient this is for visitors staying at neighboring hotels. If you need pretty much anything that may be found in a mini bar or a pharmacy, get it here. Save money. 2) The store is quite large and pretty clean. All good things. 3) With some uber convenient pharmacy/convenient stores, sometimes you'll see in intense markup in prices. I didn't notice that here. Same specials and similar pricing to its CVS counterparts on Graham St. and on South Blvd. 4) Don't expect parking to be validated, here or pretty much anywhere in EpiCentre unless you're seeing a doctor or a movie. Yes, I'm serious. 5) Candy and seasonal selection is pretty sweet. Nom. Enjoy CVS and ignore those mini bars, Charlotte visitors!

I don't understand why they can't be separate as there are multiple other supermarkets with separate businesses from their pharmacy. We'll see. This pharmacy is located inside the Publix at Southline, a relatively new shopping plaza along South Blvd. It has its own parking deck - two levels! - beneath the stores with separate elevators for the supermarket and the retail shops. The parking is free. We were here for our COVID vaccine boosters this morning, having made appointments online using https://www.publix.com/covid-vaccine. Not every Publix Pharmacy has the same vaccines and I believe that whether you're Team Pfizer or Team Moderna, you should stick to the same. The CDC is still working out the "mix and match" so you should do as your doctor recommends. As for the shot, the pharmacist did a great job despite the fact that she did not have a "helper" today. She was as busy as a single waitress working a Waffle House next to the church on a Sunday morning. Lots of hustle but still professional as she answered phone calls, prepared syringes and then provided shots. Yes, I checked the label before she did anything. Just to be sure. As for the shot and reaction, the injection site started off at 0.5 and by evening was a 3. I kept my hand in my pocket because moving the arm was painful. It was not a great night's sleep. The entire next day was a waste. I sat in bed, slept and dozed all day. At +36 hours, I was at 100% all good. Hooray, it will be 100% effective when I land in Germany in two weeks. Thanks, Publix Pharmacy. I appreciate you! [UPDATE: NO, YELP MERGED THEM AND I'M PAST ASKING FOR THEM TO FIX THEIR MISTAKES.] [Review 16130 overall - 3142 in North Carolina - 1635 of 2021.]

I asked for a Turkey, bacon and cheese sub. He goes to say, "oh that's extra meat". I asked, how? Then went to say that I've never been told that and I'm there often. The guy continues on with his reasonings. I was lost and confused by this time. So, I let him know that I didn't mind paying for what I wanted. That was just some new info to me. He started going about how not charging affects his bonus pay and this that and the third. I didn't ask him for any of that info. Carried out so bad, he ended up burning up the bacon. I kindly let him know he burned my bacon. He picks it up and look at it. I replied again, "it's burned, I don't want it"... Trying to be nasty and look, bacon turned out to be useless. Hopefully "he's" paying for it, smh. And I doubt that he will. I never want to encounter him ( older, black American guy) again.'Never had that problem with anyone else. Sometimes the line can be extra long or there's been a time when they were out of white bread(but the young guy, took care of that for me)... This guy was rude, too old to carry the situation out like he did. I was fresh off work, tired and all(still in uniform). I had no time for that type energy. I was trying to grab dinner and get home. That's it and that is all. I work in an executive kitchen in Uptown, we please and take care of our customers. I would do the same and give the same energy even if it was QT, Subway and any other place. I ended up purchasing the sub as well as a pack of Oscar Myers fully cooked bacon strips( again I do not mind, paying for what I want). The service and experience was horrible. He needs to stay off front line. Especially tell me, the customer... "If I don't charge, it affects my bonus. Go get who usually serves you and I'll tell them too. See, I don't mind. They must not know"... ... Pissed me off, so UNPROFESSIONAL. I'm sure the few who were behind me in line heard him also. They ended up walking away.

The staff there is friendly, quick, and always willing to help you find what you're looking for. They do the critical job of listening to the type of slices I want and complying. I also really appreciate their enclosed refrigerated sections throughout the store. It keeps the aisles comfortable, the products cold, and everything feels cleaner and more thoughtfully arranged compared to open‑air coolers you see elsewhere. I presume that there is also an efficiency gain for electricity usage which I can also appreciate. One downside for me is their Bakery. I appreciate a selection of freshly baked goods and find that lacking here. Another is their craft beer selection. It's noticeably limited compared to other grocery stores in the area, and it feels like an opportunity they haven't fully tapped into yet. A few more local or seasonal options would go a long way. Overall, though, even though I miss my Lowes Foods, it's a good store with decent service and a layout that makes shopping pretty easy to navigate.

It's consistently clean, easy to navigate, and just a really reliable place to shop. As a transplant from Northern California, my grocery habits were shaped by stores like Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Grocery Outlet, and the amazing bulk selection at Rainbow Grocery. I haven't quite found that same bulk-style option here in Charlotte yet--and while I do miss having an H Mart nearby like in the Bay Area, this Harris Teeter does a great job filling the gap for everyday shopping in between my larger grocery runs. Parking is always easy, and the store layout is one of the things I appreciate most. The aisles here feel a little wider than the one in my building uptown in Fourth Ward, which makes shopping more comfortable--especially when the store is busy. The self-checkout lines move quickly, and there's always an attendant nearby to help when someone gets stuck with the machine. I originally popped in for something simple--milk and cookies--but as usual, I ended up leaving with a few extras because the selection is just that good. I found bucatini pasta on sale, which was a nice surprise, and I couldn't pass up some of my regular favorites from the deli and bakery. Highlights for me include: * Fresh produce section that's consistently well stocked * Bakery items, especially the pre-sliced caraway rye bread * Boar's Head deli meats, including the London broil and honey-cured ham * A solid selection of cheeses--my go-to is a good Gruyère I don't typically buy my primary proteins here since I tend to save those purchases for Whole Foods, but Harris Teeter is perfect for those in-between trips when you need quality ingredients without making a special trip across town. Bottom line: Clean store, easy parking, friendly service, and dependable selection. This location makes grocery shopping simple and efficient--and sometimes even a little dangerous if you walk in for one item and leave with five.
