While the store itself is okay, the baked chicken is atrocious/ I bought an 8 pack that was put out at 4:28pm this afternoon at around 5:30. My wife took one bite of it at about 8:00 after it had been refrigerated. I stuck in her throat and she vomited 4 times to get it up. Horrible!!! Waited 5 minutes at the meat counter while two employees chatted. Three other customers joined me, not interrupting the chat. I finally left and went to Publix. This is one of the larger and nicer Harris Teeter locations in the area. In addition to all of the standard grocery store departments and items, they have a terrific beer selection, better than some bottle shops I have been to. They also have a pretty extensive assortment of wines as well. What really sets this location apart from all of the other Harris Teeter locations is the bar; they have a bar with about 12 taps, and feature many very good beers. This Harris Teeter was located near our hotel. We popped in for a bottle of wine. This is the largest Harris Teeter I have ever been in. It's much larger than the ones in the Charleston area. We browsed around. They had a stand set up near the entrance offering samples of bacon. This was my first time seeing a bar in a HT -- I'm used to them only being in Lowe's Foods. They offer wine tastings. They have a great selection of meat and seafood. The produce section is quite large. read more

Not the first time, about the tenth time. I have not yet complained about this but enough is enough. Usually when I get a bogo item and it didn't ring up right I just walk off because at this store it takes 10 minutes to find a manager to help you because of self check out. They are all in an office with the doors closed or milling around the discontinued crap table and carrying there bounty to who knows where. As usual a product rang up full price again. So I said let's try to get this discount. The machine ate the receipt and when I went to courtesy no employee. Imagine that. read more

I wish I could give zero stars... Ordered a dessert platter on 12/13 for a pickup on 12/23 for a big family party. I received confirmation that my order was received on 12/13 by Harris Teeter. On the morning of 12/23 received call that " they don't do that platter anymore." I should have been informed this as soon as I placed the order. Pathetic. I appeared later that day to attempt to throw together a dessert for my party- employees were not helpful, clueless to be honest. I never even received an apology. read more

This isn't my usual Teeter, but I was in the area, so I stopped by. This one seemed to be a little nicer than our normal one. They offer beer and wine I believe which is kind of cool. They have a lot of self check outs which I really appreciate. Like others, they also have free WiFi which is nice. Shout out to the staff today for going above and beyond. I had a large order for pickup and upon getting home found I was missing a pack of meat. I called and spoke to someone with online ordering and she quickly offered to replace the missing product and asked if I wanted to return to the store or have someone deliver it. I opted for delivery and shortly after a member of management, Denton, brought me a pack plus extra. read more

You are probably thinking, all Harris Teeters are the same. They are NOT!! This one should be one of the better ones...it's in a great location, its very large inside. It is not. First, when going in the front doors, you realize that there is so much "stuff" in the entry ways, you are left with a narrow aisle barely enough for one person single file to get through. All the "pick up" freezers are there, along with Redbox, ATMS, carts, magazine racks, etc etc. You can barely get in the store. Then, once you get through the gauntlet, you are faced with the employees and their many many carts/pallets/dollies everywhere. You can barely get down the aisles to shop there are so many people and things in the way. Sometimes you have to turn around half way down the aisle because you can't even get through. There are so many employees shopping for pick up orders, they are everywhere also. This needs to be done at night like they used to. Stock shelves and get pickup orders ready at night, period. Another issue is being out of all the good sale items. With massively inflated prices, everything on sale is always out of stock, always. Empty shelves await. Then you finally get to the checkout area. First, there are never enough registers open. Each one is so close to the next, you can barely get your cart in, and then the register behind you is pushing their cart up against your back while you are trying to pay for your groceries. If they are only going to use 50% of the registers (if you are lucky), then take some out and spread them apart so I don't get rammed in the back every time I try to pay. All of this has caused me to do about 50% of my shopping elsewhere, when I used to do 95% of my shopping here. If I am going to pay 60% more for groceries than a year ago, then I will spend my money at stores that make it easy and pleasant to do my shopping, like Publix. read more

It's a darn good thing that I am a big Harris Teeter fan since I have 10, yes 10, within a five mile radius of my South Charlotte home. Considering that, it says an awful lot that this one is my favorite (for what it matters, Stonecrest is a close second.) As a former butcher, I appreciate the excellent meat department. The produce department, deli and bakery are also superb but that is the case with all Harris Teeters. What really differentiates this Harris Teeter is the cozy little bar just outside the wine and beer aisle,that appears to be more and more crowded with each and every visit. As you might expect, they do have an excellent beer and wine selection also, although I am rarely a partaker in it or the bar. It's still fun seeing them. The store is always clean and the service is excellent. The parking lot is also easy access right off of Johnson Road and Ballantyne Commons. This may not sound like a big deal but try to navigate the parking lots at Stonecrest or Blakeney, then tell me what you think. read more

This store has really gone down hill. I went in yesterday morning to get some breakfast and baking supplies for strawberry rhubarb pie (daughter's favorite) and 1) the strawberries were MOLDY, not 1 container but MULTIPLE 2) the rhubarb was disgusting and incredibly old and soft/moldy. I asked if more might be in the back, nope. 3) there was supposed to be 1 (ONE) checkout stand open and the light was on but NO-ONE in sight. I didn't want my ice cream to melt so I went to the self check but I had $50 worth of groceries to do myself, very annoying! My husband ran in this morning for bacon and same thing- poor service lack of checkout stands available. We are talking 7:45-8 am, the store is not busy but there should be a checker available. This is not a self service store. We'll definitely be trying Publix from now on. 3/15/2019- this store just gets worse and worse! Tonight- 11:45pm- a woman named Fitma was SO rude to customers, they would smile and greet her and she would just stare them down with a rude look on her face, looking disgusted. The management needs to get it together and fire these useless workers. They either want to work for a paycheck or not. I'm tired of spending MY hard earned money at a store whose workers get by doing NOTHING and the absolute bare minimum. Ridiculous read more

We go here all the time mainly since it's convenient from where we live but we also find good quality and prices in the products available! My husband loves the bar and goes frequently! Usually don't have to wait long in checkout lines and self checkout is always open. We love the three cheese semolina bread from the bakery and fresh baked baguettes! Stopped in this Teeter last night to pick up a few provisions for the week after having a salad and a brew over at Bad Daddy's Burger Bar. This is not my favorite of the 5 or 6 HT's in the 28277 area but it has the staples. (The larger stores like StoneCrest HT & Arborteum HT have a lot of specialty items that this store doesn't carry.) In any case, on this visit, I stopped by the deli to pick up a couple of items and they were pretty slow, but very nice. (They were training someone new to the department, so I can understand why it would take a little more time.) I just heard that they are getting ready to expand this store (again) and this time they will be putting in a permanent wine-tasting center that sounds like it will be a really nice addition. read more

As the Harris Teeter closest to my house, it has the most check-ins. As far as Harris Teeter's go, this one is probably one of the fanciest I've been to. It has a wine/beer bar near the deli, where you can catch the game, or just buy a glass of wine to take with you while shopping. Because of the location in Ballantyne it can get very busy which can be irritating most of the time, but that's why there's wine. They have a big produce section that can be hit or miss. They have a great deli with a lot of friendly people, but that can get very busy as well. Basically if you feel yourself getting irritated, go grab a glass of wine, and keep walking. read more

I used to come to this Starbucks almost every morning before work but then they got a new manager and employees and it's been terrible!!! I used to boycott the drive thru Starbucks across the street because the employees and service at the Harris Teeter were incomparable!! But they swapped out almost all their employees and brought in new ones. I have learned the new managers name is Caitlin. She works several morning shifts and she is ALWAYS unhappy, rude, depressing and silent. She seems to always have an attitude. It used to be so pleasant coming to this Starbucks before work. There was always a great energy from there! I actually went back this morning after several months of distance, wondering if things had changed. NOPE! Caitlin was there at the register. Looking annoyed, unhappy and miserable. Her coworker seemed pretty sad too. I was in a great mood when I came in but after a few minutes of their presence I became depressed and couldn't get back outside fast enough! (Today's weather was gorgeous thank goodness) I have come to this location too many times to count and I've come across this particular girl a multitude of times to confidently leave this review. She should not work in a customer service based job whatsoever. I WILL NOT come back to this Starbucks and I will continue to either go across the street or drive out of my way to any other Starbucks for my morning espresso. Today is co-workers 5 years anniversary and my company decided it wanted to get him an ice cream cake. EVERY single cake in the display case was damaged. I picked the one that had the least bit frosting on the package and when I opened it...the state of the cake was even worse. $21 dollars these people charge for what looks like a toddler decorated it. Your store Baker should be ashamed of themselves for putting such garbage out there for the public to buy. Since this was a last minute buy I really had no choice but to purchase. Lori never makes you feel like you are bothering her and is always so helpful in selections. Both Lori and Tomas handle the customers with ease. They have a genuine nature that makes you enjoy your visit to the Deli counter. Asian hot bar! Still undergoing it's renovations, but already an inspiring update to my neighborhood HT. The Starbucks branch inside is impressive and way bigger than I anticipated. Clean new design and brighter lighting with wine tasting or eat in area not that we have pizza and hot bars, too. Must hit the breakfast bar soon! I am so a regular here for prepared meals, and sushi that the sushi chefs always know me now! Hope the Kroger buy means the chain won't suffer from a fall in quality. Wait and see... read more

I LOVE this grocery store. It's always clean. I can guarantee that almost every trip I make here turns into a learning experience, a fruit or vegetable I've never seen or heard of before! Sometimes this makes me take a picture or use Google from purple potatoes to white asparagus to ugli fruit. They have a grand section of alcohols from worldly wines to local craft beers. There is a wonderful bakery. Meat and cheese selections are equally as impressive. The ice cream, sorbet and gelato as well as natural, gluten free, and vegan options span more than 2 entire rows! Some sections of the store are so amazing like the honeys and the peanut, almond and other types of butters. There is a large grouping of gluten free items in a refrigerated spot up front by the pharmacy and frozen goods. The vegetarian section is quite nice and I've had the opportunity to try several new brands and products, and their ethnic aisle is also quite a treat from rice to curry to beans to Mexican soda to coconut water. Sometimes this branch has really awesome deals like buy 2 of one item and get 3 more free!! :-) I've stocked up plenty of times when I catch those deals, and sometimes the deals are more subtle like buy 2 for the price of one! Whatever it is, no complaints from me. They have the best, freshest selections (compared with other retail giants/chains: Food Lion and the other ones down here, even compared to other Harris Teeter locations), is open 24 hours a day, staff is super friendly (especially Stephen who I'm able to chat with when I shop at night after work), during the day they have free samples of literally everything, pricing/cost, and they even host events.. like craft beer week, wine and cheese, bbq, etc. Hands down my favorite grocery store in the Carolinas. If you don't believe me ask any of my friends, they will tell you that I can't stop bragging about my weekly or bi-weekly trips to my local Harris Teeter! :-) read more

This Harris Teeter is going to be awesome once they finish doing the remodel. Some of my top favorites: Huge Wine Selections- Seriously! They have everything you could think of! I encourage you checking it out...but with the warning you may end of with 3 bottles to try (but can you ever really have enough wine?) Seafood/Meat Departments- I really like the selections of meats and seafood. They always seem to have really good cuts of meat and fish. And the guys behind the counter are all very friendly! Have a question...or want something special...Don't be afraid to ask! Salad Bar- Whoa. More than anything I appreciate the presentation. No matter when I go it always looks so well stocked and full. And the variety of toppings here is great! Tons of fresh veggies and fruits...to make your lettuce very happy. Hot Asian Bar- 'Nuff said. YUM! I office within walking distance of this Harris Teeter, and it is so much better than the one near my house! As others have yelped, this store is amazing after the remodel. My review is for the enormous salad bar - fantastic! Super-clean and full of anything and everything you could ever want for a fabulous salad - from plenty of healthy stuff all the way to the notorious banana pudding (somehow, it's on all the big salad bars around here. ha!). There are also pre-made finished tossed salads and garnished wedges, if you want to go the lazy route or need something fast for home dinner. There's plenty of protein options for both meat eaters and vegetarians. And, if you want to eat in the store, you can enjoy the a semi-secluded dining area, right next to the new in-store Starbucks. The renovation design really highlights the fresh and gourmet areas of the store, including the salad bar (with soup choices too), hot American food bar (huge), Asian bar, an extensive cheese department, expanded wine department, and a nice meat and seafood counter. I'm gonna be putting on my tennies and walking to this HT often! read more

Harris Teeter Ballantyne - the new lunch place! I stopped by yesterday (6/18/13) to pick up lunch to bring back to my office. Now this location has been under construction for some time so I was just expecting to pick up one of the deli's teriyaki rice bowls. Little did I expect that they would have a full set of hot lunch bars open! For $7.40 a pound (as of this date) you can get your pick of southern cuisine (chicken tenders, grilled chicken, peas, tater tots, mac-n-cheese, green beans), Asian (stir-fry, vegetable roll), Mexican (tacos, enchilada melt, rice, beans), and a full salad bar. With everything I got, it came to just under $6 - and it was a full plate! Where can you find good food takeout for under $6? Harris Teeter Ballantyne, that's where. The food was delicious - I told others in my office about it when I got back and our admin and operations manager tried it out as well. We're all going back today to try some new combos. Huge kudos to Harris Teeter Ballantyne for becoming the hot new place to pick up lunch! Oh, and the rest of the store is terrific as well - the renovations have been amazing. I've watched over several months as it has been transformed from a smaller store into an upscale mega-supermarket. They've done a great job. read more

This has to be the greatest Harris Teeter in Charlotte. The variety of organic foods and deli foods is incredible. The hot bar and Asian bar is soooooo good! I love the staff there and love store setup. I don't even care about the I485 traffic ... greatest store ever. read more
