The person working the upstairs counter couldn't be bothered to direct me to where the item was, and his attitude was beyond rude. When I asked if Alpers could install a lock the counter person without looking up gave a snarky "we don't do handyman work" as a response. I'll think twice before going back to Alpers, and will first choose Ace Hardware, or even Home Depot.

After visiting several other closer ACE hardware stores, whose staff had no absolutely idea how to help us-- we travelled out of our way to this ACE hardware. Vinny knew the right size of reducing coupling and nipple connector we needed. He ordered for us right away since it wasn't in stock and made the whole grill experience a breeze. Sorry our contractor ended up getting the reducing coupling so we didn't come back. But we will head to this ACE hardware above all other ACE hardware. Worth the extra drive to go to this branch!!!

The store clerk who was behind the desk was very rude. No greeting.... he stood there, ignoring our existence for as long as he could. The only reason why I gave an extra star was because of the second person who helped us. He was much more cordial. It was just too bad they had a small selection, things that were discontinued...etc. We didn't have a spending limit either. Anyways, we found exactly what we needed/wanted elsewhere.

It was because of Mickey, Jeff, and the rest of their staff that I was able to incorporate wrought iron to the windows, doors, screen doors, railings, and steps of my home in The Bronx. Even gate surrounding the entire property. When it was all done. I stood there and cried. I had lived in that home since I was 11 yrs old, and never had it looked that magnificent. I was locked in my apartment one day after a delivery came. It was a Sunday afternoon and everyone was closed. The delivery person was locked in with us. I called Stargate and Lock, Mickey picked up; I told him my dilemma; he sent Jeff. We were out and with a new more secure lock in a matter of minutes. I highly recommend Stargate and lock to anyone in need of professional locksmith, iron construction, or simply hardware services.

They came and reviewed our kitchen and asked questions on what we would like in the kitchen. A week later we were invited to their Sea Cliff office where they showed us our kitchen. My jaw dropped when they were showing it to us and I remember saying is this our kitchen? I never imaged our kitchen having an island but she was able to get that in there and it looked gorgeous. They helped us pick cabinets and our counter top. They also helped us with our knobs and gave us great sites to find our faucet and sink. What I loved most of all is the placement of the draws and cabinets. Every one of them is in the perfect place. I love that I can take food out of the refrigerator and the island is right there. The in-draw knife holder is in perfect placement for us to cook and the garage is also in perfect placement. We had a corner area in the kitchen and they suggested a lemans and it is just perfect. There is minimal movement when we are cooking as everything we need is within a step or two. Because we took down a weight bearing wall we had to have a support beam run through our island. John suggested he match the wood with our cabinets. We did and it makes the support beam look perfect through the island. Lastly, now that the kitchen and dining room are one we have a radiator in the dining room and John made us a beautiful cover that matches our cabinets. They are true professionals and I can't say enough how thankful we are that they helped us with this project.
