Love this place! Went in last week to replace an old padlock for my front door and get some keys made. The store has an amazing selection! I don't really know what I'm doing and I'm so glad the staff was so eager to help and guide me to the right direction! Definitely coming back if I need to fix anything else. SUMMARY: Next time, we're taking a longer walk to come here so we're treated with professionalism and a smile! BACKGROUND: Came here after two bad experiences at Parker Hardware up the street. The Asian woman here is so cool, professional, and knows her stuff. VISIT: As mentioned, we went to Parker Hardware up the street where the lady manager or owner treated us with almost disdain and we were totally turned off by the way she berates her employees in front of customers. So we walked a few extra blocks to come here to get what we needed and we're glad to have made the walk. The woman here asked us what we needed, walked us to what we were looking for, gave us good advice, and allowed us to select what we needed. She then directed us to another aisle to get some wire nuts and that was that. She rang us up *with a smile* (unlike Parker's manager/owner), and even said Happy New Years to us. RETURN VISIT? We're only here once a year to visit my in-laws but we usually have a list of things to fix from my MIL, so yes, we're just going to walk on past Parker's and go to this hardware store. And will recommend my wife's friends do the same. read more

I came here walking along Bell Boulevard out of my way to have a few house keys copied and met Nancy. I read the awesome reviews on YELP and decided to come here instead of another business establishment which is closer to me but which I didn't have such a great experience a few years ago when keys needed to be copied. It took that place 3 tries of me going back and forth home before it actually worked and opened the door. Here with Nancy...all 3 keys were perfect the first time and I was in and out in under 5 minutes. I truly RECOMMEND this local business and Nancy is great! read more

YOU GET RIPPED OFF EVERY TIME BUY SOMETHING FROM HERE. This store charges 3 to 4 times what you should pay. First of all, almost all the reviews below are not even from people in the neighborhood. I live in Bayside. I like to support a local hardware store. I don't even mind paying a little more. But EVERY time I leave this hardware store I feel like I have been ripped off. Each time I leave I say to myself, maybe it is covid or maybe she didn't get much business today and I shrug it off. But today was the last straw. I bought one small nut. Just the nut. Not an uncommon size. And I was charged 50 cents. I went to Jere's earlier, because she did not have what I needed. I got two small screws. They told to keep them for nothing. If you want to go to a true hardware store, and guarantee that they will have what you need, go to Jere's on Horace Harding. I'll never walk into this place again. And I don't know what they are talking about with Nancy's "friendliness," I have never really found her to be all that friendly. read more

I had 2 car key batteries replaced and one duplicate garage key made. Received excellent and friendly service. And the price was beyond reasonable. Owner asked me to return if I had any issues with my keys. I will definitely return for future service and recommend to my friends and neighbors. read more

Lady was great helping me... my Volkswagen key battery was low and I thought it would be a pain to replace. Took it here she put a new one in I drove off thinking it was fine. I went to cvs and realized the battery was still saying low. Didn't know what to do so I came back real quick told her wanted to make sure the battery was in right and she just opened a new one even though I told her that wasn't necessary and she insisted sometimes the battery manufacturers mess up. Sure enough soon as She put it in it was back to normal. Really appreciated it. Will provide her with any business I can. They also have anything and everything you need for house repairs and stuff like that. read more

This is a great neighborhood hardware store. Every time I visit, I'm greeted by helpful & friendly service. I'm definitely not "handy" but there's always something I need to fix or buy to spruce up my house. Nancy the owner is such a pleasure - helping me figure out what I need and takes the time to explain how I can fix things myself - saving me that call and extra money I usually spend on a handyman. This personalized service is a breath of fresh air and the complete opposite of what I get when I visit a Home Depot (where usually I'm getting lost trying to find what I need and then spending extra time to hunt down someone that can help!). Shopping here also makes me feel good that I'm supporting a small business and bonus: a woman owned & operated business. The store is well organized and besides hardware supplies - I got extra keys made here and was able to pickup some home supplies and even some gift items for a housewarming party I was on my way to (for both adults and kids). We've lost several local hardware stores in Northeast Queens in the last few years, and I hadn't realized that this one had reopened under new management about a year ago -- until I went in search of a somewhat hard to identify and replace part a few days ago and found them listed. The proprietor and her (son?) were extremely helpful -- spending a lot of time doing my Internet homework for me and finding what I needed. This is the kind of service that makes small businesses so invaluable, and that makes lasting customers -- and they've made one in me. I highly recommend them. read more
