Always a fun visit at OnPoint. It has that small town general store vibe. I love the AS SEEN ON TV section of the store.

I used to frequent this shop when I was a teenager living in the neighborhood. I decided to return…read morehere because I couldn't find a Hardware Store or a store that made keys locally. I decided to come straight to Big Apple Hardware Store after work on a Wednesday afternoon due to the hours stating that they were open until 7pm. I got off at 4pm and decided to take the 25 min trip to the store via bus and walked about 10 mins to get to the location. Upon walking up to the store I see an employee getting ready to close the gate. There was still another employee inside. I asked him if I could get a key made, but he told me no. I said well what time do you close because the Yelp hours say 7pm. He said that they close at 4pm. Is that so? I looked at him in bewilderment because it was now a quarter to 5pm. I cursed, released a long sigh, and marched off because not only did I waste time trying to get a key made, but there were no updated hours reflected on the website. To say that I was vexed is an understatement. I decided to to come back the following day on a Thursday and much to my surprise they were open. As I waited on line to get a key made. The employee rudely told me to go to the other side to get the key made. Quite frankly I'm not a fan of this place and the management has since change from when I used to come here. Not only are they rude but the way they conduct business is an abomination. If I didn't need a key made I wouldn't waste my breath or time here.

Wow, thank god for Mohammed because he provided excellent customer service to us. He guided us through the aisles and recommended us which products were better. Also, thanks to Tom for showing us how to use the Caulk Gun. We really do appreciate both of them. There was only one register opened as everything was self-checkout. I like to interact with a human being. When it was our turn, sales associate Susan asked about signing up for Home Depot's Pre-Approved credit card to get $50 off the purchase. Hey, that was such a great promo because I love to save money. Woohoo, I was Pre-Approved for Home Depot's credit card #score I also had a $3.38 balance on a Home Depot gift card then paid the difference with my new Home Depot credit card! Damn, I am really happy with today's visit!

Please read before buying LG! We bought an LG washing…read moremachine, replacing our old LG (10 year warranty). After a short few months it started to destroy our clothes. It first accord after washing our sheets. They looks like some sharp object would be in the drum and pull strands out of the fabric. We checked the drum, stroked over every inch with our hands, used cotton balls to see if anything stuck - nothing! I called customer service (we ordered our washer directly from LG). They told us to run the drum clean cycle 5 times in a row (that's 7.5 hours!) that should solve the problem. We did and the next load of laundry had the same problem. We called LG again, send them pictures as requested, were told they investigate and call back. They never did. Today was the 6th time I called and also send an email to the president. After telling them that I will write this review and post it everywhere I was asked by the supervisor if I use the right cycle to wash my laundry. I am 69 years old and know how to do laundry. Finally I was told he would pass it on to their service center which will contact me to find out if it is a manufactory defect. This goes on now for over 6 weeks. The service center contacted us via text and asked what are the defective parts - how am I supposed to know? The next message was they reach out if they have someone available. I would stay away from LG which is hard to say because we have LG everywhere from fridge to TVs but if something is wrong it is the worse customer service you ever experience.

I went to the back and stood at the counter waiting for her to acknowledgee as I did not want to interrupt her while she was working on the computer. She became very nasty when she realized I was standing there and did not get her attention. How was I to know that your peripheral vision was non existent. I explained that I was trying not to be rude and interrupt her. She then continue huffing and puffing and mumbling on and on. Note to the owner: this employee is miserable at this job and taking it out on your customers for no reason. Please replace her if your value your customers and your business. I will not step foot back in to your store and engage with her. I'll be going down just a few blocks to Bell Hardware

SUMMARY: As they say in management "Everything flows from the top". BACKGROUND: My wife is a Bayside native and she left Bayside to be with me in CA and now in TX. We finally got around to visiting her mom since COVID hit and her home needed some maintenance type repairs. This store is the closest. SERVICE: As other people here have complained, the lady manager/owner(?) is just not nice. We visited on two occasions within the last 3 days. Both times we heard her berating her staff about where things were placed, why they're not looking in the manual, and the like. I would never ever talk like that to any one of my coworkers or of lower job position ESPECIALLY in front of customers. Accordingly, the staff looks beaten down and are in no hurry to do it right or in a timely manner. Why should they if they get chastised and berated in front of customers by their superior? After the first time a few days ago, they didn't have what we needed so we took a walk down to Bell Home & Hardware on 47-28 Bell Blvd. It was a nice day so we enjoyed the walk and were talking with each other saying (about Parker) "WTH, did we do something to piss her off or something?" When we got to Bell Hardware, in stark contrast the Asian lady employee there...wow, night and day difference. Once we walked in, she asked us what we needed and she walked us directly to what we needed, gave us great advice (including NOT buying one particular kit), and walking us again to something else we needed. Next time we'll walk the few extra blocks. And then today, we were meeting my wife's former boss and since the Parker hardware store was only a few stores down and we only needed some small things, we dropped by again and rolled the dice. Same treatment, same berating of staff. We got run up after a lengthy delay, no thank you, just an unhappy face, and handed me my receipt and change. RETURN VISIT? No. Definitely not. I mean, really, my patronage won't make much of a difference to her since we're only here for a week. But truly, I think the lady manager needs to deal with whatever it is because no one should be treated the way we saw her treat her employees.
