Parking is easy. When you walk in, you are met with a huge selection of doorknobs...etc. my husband and I were looking for a door knocker (we needed something immediately) and asked for help. The store clerk who was behind the desk was very rude. No greeting.... he stood there, ignoring our existence for as long as he could. We said excuse me and he turns around until we were forced to walk away. So awkward. When he came back, we walked up to him again and asked for assistance. Finally he said something useful. The only reason why I gave an extra star was because of the second person who helped us. He was much more cordial. First - the positive. This showroom has many door knobs and related hardware on display. You can see various brands and get a good look and feel of the hardware before purchase. In terms of service, you're at the right place if you want single yes or no answers. Staff members are snobby and offer zero help or interest to do business. In summary - use this showroom to see what you really want and buy the hardware else where!! i read all of the reviews before visiting Kolson's, and approached the store with some trepidation based on the recent negativity. I am glad I ignored them. My recent visit could not have been better, and the staff could not have been more accommodating. I visited the store with a friend who was disabled and a little disoriented. EVERY staff member -- Jay, Bill, Lenny and Yafa -- attended to us like we were outfitting the renovation of the Palace Hotel. Used to be a good business. Terrible staff and attitude now. The place looks like and acts like they are going out of business soon. Ignored by sales staff, has that run down, worn out look to it, yet they act like they are doing you a favor letting you purchase items there. Poor Customer Service and basically "Liars".. I travelled 3 hours to come to the showroom and order for our new home, we got there Friday late afternoon, i picked my items and the sales man Lenny convinced me to give a cc on the order to hold items and that Monday i could confirm if the 4-5 week turnaround time would be acceptable to our builder, which at the time was unreachable.. When I spoke with our builder, he said to long house would be ready sooner and that would delay our move in. I immediately emailed /Called Saturday to cancel, i got no response. I called Monday morning and was given the run around, and told if i ordered in a different finish i could get it sooner.. That was unacceptable, to expect i would change the finish. I was told they are not going to refund me, I was shocked, I then disputed the claim with my cc company, as they never ordered any product as warehouse was closed Friday and i reached them Monday by 9:03am , prior to them having a chance to order product, which I was told wouldn't happen till i confirmed on Monday. I just receive a notice telling me they are disputing my claim as i called and cancelled "with no good reason"... they made have a lot to look at, but they definitely not an upstanding reputable company as i thought... FUN FACT: they threatened legal action against me, telling me I wrote a threatening email stated that they lied and that I was going to write reviews stating just that... what kind of a business handles matters with customers so poorly.... truly poor management, they should read there reviews... read more

Came in to look at hardware for a new house under construction. When I told the salesman (who I had to hunt down) that my contractor sent me he was not eager to assist me. When he walked away from me I heard him tell another salesman not to help me, that my contractor "sends clients in to look but not buy". Completely rude. Beware of their return policy. I purchased a toilet tissue holder from them. When the contractor hung it, there wasn't enough clearance. I brought it back and wanted to get a refund or credit. They wouldn't take it back because the contractor has disposed of the box it came in. The box, by the way, had no markings on it and was a generic paper box. Poor way to do business!! The have a great selection but once they have your money the quality of the service degrades. Delivery was later than promised, without any followup phone call from my salesman. When the delivery finally arrived it was only half the order. I had to phone the store to inquire where it was and when I could expect it and I received a promise of another delivery day from my salesman Russell that did not happen. When the day came and it did not happen again, I called and he told me he would call me back and he did not. After calling and speaking to Sandy I was able to get a status and a delivery. It was unnecessary angst that could have been avoided with truthful and timely proactive communications. And lastly, the screws that came with the hardware were not long enough and my installer had to go out and purchase additional screws to complete the job. read more

In August, I went to Kolsons and put a $750 deposit on a kitchen faucet, a spray and a soap dispenser. . I have called more than ten times, I spoke to Sandy a manager who would promise to look into it and then never call me back. He gave me the run around and wasn't helpful in any way. They haven't credited me for the deposit and have not delivered the goods. Are the owners aware that customers are being treated like this? I have shopped there many times over the last 20 plus years and never encountered a problem like this. The store always seemed reputable but obviously it is not. I feel robbed. People need to be cautious about shopping in this store. I just want my money back. read more

They charged me while I placed the order. And after 6 months waiting, I still did not get the product, the staff kept telling me it would be arrived next week. I finally chose to cancel my order. and it seems I could not get my refund. By the way, I get items from other store, it only takes two days. read more

The store has everything and it's easy to get overwhelmed if you don't know what you're looking for. I went in looking to replace cabinet pulls in my bedroom and, I wound up grabbing knobs to replace my daughter's dresser handles as well. Though I've seen many of these items before, online and in different other locations, Kolson's has it all. My only comment is on price. They are at the top of the charts - perhaps the cost of finding it all under one roof and close to home. read more

The staff here gave me bad advice when I came in to look for door knob replacements .I was informed that there was no replacements for my old type spindle door knobs and was told I had to drill large holes in the existing doors for the newer type .The ones they had were very expensive .I went to Home Depot and found very good quality knobs for a fraction of the price and drilled the holes and did the installation myself. Just recently when I decided to install new knobs on some other doors I discovered that the old type are still available and I could have bought these type in the first place and saved time work and money .Also everything here is expensive .I found a much better towel rack than anything they had on view or in their catalogs at amazon at a better price .I also wanted high quality wall switch plates and they did not even have any on view and said I would have to look in a catalog,Why look in a catalog when I could do this online which I did .The only good thing about this place is the selection of cabinet knobs which is better than any place I have been ,which I did buy here read more

This place is amazing. Arrived on a Saturday and were immediately overwhelmed. The selection is amazing, with 1000's of hardware on the walls. They have hardware for kitchen, baths, door knobs and locks. Upstairs they have bath items. Within 10 minutes we were greeting by a guy named Lenny and asked if anyone was helping us. For the next 1.5 hours, Lenny took us around the store, gave us lots of advice and looked up a ton of pricing for us. Lenny was very patient with us as we continued to find items we needed pricing on. We ended up purchasing some items off the sale wall, Lenny priced the items and went in the back each time to see how many he had available for us. We also ordered some items that had to be special ordered. A lot of the items are 3-4 week deliverer so be aware. While there I saw other customers come in and the men who work there all seemed very helpful matching items for customers and looking up pricing. Be aware they get all the pricing from books, it is a much slower process that using computers but this is an old fashion kind of store. We have since returned to order more items. I have compared some items online and the prices are fair and the customer service is great. read more
