This was not a straightforward job. SD Electric took the time to thoroughly assess the situation, troubleshoot intelligently, and explain options clearly, which immediately built trust. The level of care, attention to detail, and technical skill they brought was unlike anything I've experienced before. What impressed me most was their ability to find creative, code-conscious solutions on the spot--solutions that other electricians either missed or said were not possible. They successfully ran power from the new main panel to the subpanel, which was not an easy task given the layout and constraints. TIMELY- Uriel called 30 min before his arrival and then, arrived at the stated time. This is particularly helpful so I can move my bunny to another room with all of his belongings. ATTENTION TO DETAIL - I saw him place a protective cloth down on the floor before he placed the ladder and tools down. I also noticed there was a bottle of cleaner with his supplies. He cleaned the inside vents as well as the compressor on the roof. He also tied off a loose wire/when checking the air handler in the ceiling. KNOWLEDGEABLE and THROROUGH - Uriel did a complete system check and then, he sat down with me to explain what was done and why. He addressed the concerns I had about some of the prior readings in terms that I could understand and shared tips that will help ensure my system runs at its most efficient. Example: A higher MERV doesn't always mean "better" and can actually restrict the airflow. He said that for my particular system I should use a MERV10 filter and change it every 3 months. He changed my filters and then, left me with two spares to use before the fall check comes. FRIENDLY - In the course of chatting with Uriel, it came up that I might benefit from having more filtered air coming into my condo. He made a recommendation for a part that would replace the standalone room air purifier I currently use. He placed this info into the after-visit summary so I can "research it and see if it fits with my needs and finances." There was zero pressure to make a purchase on the spot. And while this next item has nothing to do with the knowledge or ability of an HVAC tech, I greatly appreciate that he did NOT smell like cigarette / e-cigarette smoke or strong cologne as I have a bunny and people in my family have asthma. Same complaint as many others. Brought my coach in for a couple minor issues but mainly the Onan…read moregenerator would not stay running. When it's hot out it will start but then within an hour die. Been happening for about a year, we tested it with the door open and it would run most of the time indefinitely. So anyway when I brought it in I voiced all this too the service advisor. I told him to make sure the mechanic tests it with the door closed because we know with the door closed it's overheating, which is the problem I was trying to solve. They charged me for the technician to look at it and then run it for 2 hours in an air conditioned bay with the door open. So of course it didn't overheat. So they call me and go oh no nothing's wrong. So I question them about it sure enough they ran it under the wrong circumstances. So then the service advisor goes back out turns it back on, runs with the door closed sure enough within an hour it dies. Well long story short almost $700 later they tell me yep it's overheating. Yeah I know that that's why I brought it in, what is the diagnosed issue? We're not sure but we should probably just do a thousand hour service cuz that'll cover everything. Well the generator only has about 850 hours So basically they just wanted to throw parts at it. I can take it to any generator or RV shop and they could do that cheaper than what Cummins would charge. I took it to Cummins for a targeted diagnostics But instead got stuck with a huge bill and no more information than when I brought it in. Second issue of the three issues they fixed.. I have a hydraulic parking brake that's connected to the drive line. They had to repair a hose that was leaking. Well after they repaired the hose they didn't add any of the lost hydraulic fluid into the reservoir. So the very first time I went to put the parking brake on it wouldn't engage. So I'm sitting there at my house trying to call my wife holding the brakes so she can come in hold the brakes so I can go out and diagnose the issue which was the reservoir was low on hydraulic fluid. I honestly didn't bother to call them about anything I mean how can you trust him if they don't even bother to fill up a parking brake reservoir which keeps the coach from rolling away. So don't waste your money going to Cummins thinking they know better, at the 200 plus dollars an hour your not getting any better service than anywhere else.

Nathan provided the better price. He was also ok with using the switch I already bought without really knowing that they usually use a interlock and sub panel. Anyway he did the whole installation and testing on a Saturday morning. Flush mount would look better but wasn't room and it's not like it's a new house. He showed he how everything works and tested it with the generator running I am so happy Don't Have worry about power outages this year I'm ready!

Disappointed. I've used this company in the past for some electrical projects and all was fine but…read moreI recently used them to install a ceiling fan that did not go well. Two months after the fan was installed (with little to no use) it started to fall through my ceiling. Now, I'll preface this by saying I understand things happen but the response from Mike was unacceptable. I had a different company come out and fix the fan because this of course happened on a weekend and they're not open on weekends. The other electrician informed me that only one thread bolt was installed on the fan box causing it to drop. One thread bolt is fine for lighting fixtures but not fans because of the torque. When I informed Mike of the situation he denied any responsibility and told me that it probably just came loose since it had been TWO months. Is a ceiling fan supposed to come loose after two months?! He then mentioned it looked like the box came loose and that's not his responsibility. Okay, but had your electrician informed me that I needed a new box or additional items, I would have gladly purchased them. I would think if you're installing anything, you would ensure all needed items are compliant and if not, you would notify the customer. Regardless of the fan breaking through my ceiling, the fact that there was zero accountability and zero remorse is enough for me to never use Raceway electric again.
