Do not go here! This place is really sketchy. My massage was extremely rough. She answered the phone a few times throughout my session. The spa smelled really bad, like food. She demanded a tip of 20% and you have to pay prior to getting your massage. She cut my massage time by five minutes for another customer who happened to be a male. Nothing sit right with me while I was there. I was happy that my massage was cut five minutes. I didn't even want her to finish the first 15 minutes into the massage. DO...NOT... GO... HERE! This was the WORST place that I've ever gone and all of the years that I've had a massage. - this was my first time visit. And last time visit. I found them on yelp and was looking to get a 90 minute massage. Online it showed the pricing was $80 for a 90 minute massage. But when I got there the owner at the front desk told me it's actually $90 for 90 minutes and I had to pay upfront. So I paid with my credit card. It seems that the owner was the one that was giving me the massage. I said medium pressure. Most of the massage was done with a massage stick and there were multiple times where it was painful and I screamed out in pain. Same thing goes for the bottom of the feet. The final straw is when I had oil on my back... The masseuse put boiling hot stones on my back. I've done hot stones many times before and this was painful enough for me to scream out in pain. I told her to stop. But she kept insisting and I kept wincing and telling her no. She told me all of this is probably your first time and I said no it's not my first time. Please stop you're hurting me! And that lady had the nerve to start laughing when I told her I was in pain. OMG I was so pissed. I told her how much time do we have left because I'm not doing 90 minutes of this. I am not relaxed and this is the worst massage I've had. We stopped at 60 minutes. I am going to be disputing the charge. Even after the massage and I was dressed she was still giggling like it was funny. This is not how you run a business. Admittedly, I hesitated as I pulled up to this location on a Broadway. It looked a little shabby from the outside and no formal sign saying "Long Beach Massage," just a large banner advertising 1 free massage for every 10 massages bought and some cheesy LED lights advertising BODY MASSAGE. I walked in and was met by a very personable lady who led me to a back room. Rooms are small and separated with thin plywood or something with curtains drawn. But there was nice mood lighting, clean linens and strong table. I laughed to myself because there was a Meme of a cat massaging another cat with the title, "OK I give massage but no happy ending." It kind of made me feel better. She asked if I liked light, medium or hard. I like deep tissue and she delivered! There was even rails on the ceiling for her to hold on to while she walked my back. I didn't notice those up there and it was a little surprising and felt awesome. One hour massage cost $50 (plus your tip). I could hear someone else else towards the end of their service getting their back slapped so note that if you're sensitive to sound, etc. that may bother you. If I had one thing to say that wasn't 100% ideal, my masseuse went a little too fast into the hard pressure. even a few minutes of soft pressure first would have been great. But she did ask me if I wanted hard pressure and I said Yes. And over all, it was an amazing massage. Really got deep into just about every muscle in the body, really maximizing the time. I walked in at 9pm on a Monday night and was greeted by a cheerful lady who guided me to a simply decorated, dimly lit private massage room. The linens were very soft and the massage bed was really comfortable. Soft classical music and pleasant aromatic smells drifted through the air. My masseuse was Lisa, who is intuitive, talented, strong, and polite. I get professional massages fairly often, and this was one of the best I have ever received. Completely thorough, my 1 hour massage relaxed me from head to toe, and put powerful work into my problem (tense) areas on my back. She used a variety of techniques that created the perfect combination of intense body work and calming massage. An excellent value for $50. After my massage I was met with cold water, a handful of Chinese candy, and a stamp card that offers a free massage for every 10 massages at Harbor Spa. Her main focus was my mid back , I have practiced massage therapy for months and I know it could have been done better! Hands down the worst massage I have ever experienced: - insisted I pay up front in cash for the massage, and now I know why because they probably had people walk out because it was so bad. - I keep my boxers on normally because some places are shady, but she insisted I take them off, so I kept them on and she shoved my boxers up my crack and exposed my entire butt. - she then proceeded to still graze my balls even though my underwear was barely covering. - she used sharp elbows the entire time - her sharp elbows pierced into my spine many times even after I told her to stop massaging directly on my spine. - used extra oil to where it felt gross and was too slippery. - I asked for strong but she was extra rough, fast, and uncomfortable. - she scratched my neck and pressed her elbow so deep into my neck that half of my right arm went numb all the way down to my right hand fingers. It is 2 days later and the numbness is finally starting to go away. - at the end she kept popping my ear drums and bending my knee back even after I told her not too because I have a torn meniscus. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE UNLESS TOU WANT TO BE TORTURED AND UNCOMFORTABLE the entire time. With your elbow ??? I was sore as hell after a week of working out and my roommate mentioned that the massage spot around the corner from our apartment is pretty legit. I called to set an appointment later that day. Arrived to Harbor Massage and it pretty much looks the same as every Asian massage parlor. I was greeted by Shirley who also ended up provided me with the best massage I had ever gotten. My workouts this week left my mid back, lower back and hamstrings extremely sore and tight. Shirley went to work and rolled out every ache and knot. She is very skilled at identifying where the points are that need work and was great at bending, twisting and contorting my body to work the muscle from every which angle. She is a sniper with her elbow and get that tension out with laser like precision. I was definitely having trouble standing upright without succumbing to the pain of the muscle soreness but I felt like a million bucks after she was done. I was going to take another rest day tomorrow but I'm ready get back to working out again tomorrow. I highly recommend Shirley and will definitely be back regularly. read more

Got the 90min. Pretty rad. Shirley was my therapist. Very nice and professional. I feel pretty fantastic. She had run to greet a walk in but no biggie. Pressure as good, asked her to let up a bit on a few points but overall was a great sesh. Some interesting hip rotations with a sudden yank at the end. I was a bit cold but she put hot stones in my hands and used hot packs to keep me warm. You might notice "silent night" playing in the music loop. Bought a gift card for my bf on my way out. You have to pay beforehand which I'm sure there are reasons for so make sure to have cash to tip at the end as its hard to know how much to tip before you receive the work. There's also a punch card, I think after 10 sessions, you get one free. Sweet. read more

I really hate to be the bad reviewee on here but I'm pretty upset with these ladies. I brought my mom here for her birthday today because of their 5 star reviews but I'm hugely disappointed. I paid $50 for a "hot stone massage" for my mom since it was her first time getting one and she'd been wanting one for a while but all they did was place the stones on her, slid them up and down her back twice and gave her a half ass massage for a few minutes then proceeded to leave my mom unattended. She didn't even get the full hour I paid for. To top it off the lady in the front has the audacity to ask if we want to tip and since I have a heart and didn't want to be the messed up person I gave her $2 and even after we expressed our dissatisfaction she got mad that we didn't tip more. My mother and I wouldn't recommend this place at all, that is our honest opinion. There are much better places, with better service and better prices, just sayin'. You make your call. read more

FYI This place is called IC SPA if you google it. I went in to get a 1 hour body massage for $50. The massage was good, until she started massage my face. To be honest as she was massaging my face, her palms smelt like sweat. Probably due to the fact that she was my massaging my body. But I know for a fact I definitely showered and spray body cologne on right before I got there. The lady told me it was going to be a 30 minute wait. I told her I don't mind waiting, in reality I ended up waiting 45 minutes. They were courteous to make sure I was comfortable with a fan blowing at me. As I was going to pay with my card, she whispered TIP TIP. I'm thinking to myself how rude to be saying this to a customer. Regardless I was gonna tip her. Then she had the nerve to say $10. I called in a massage for two and they made it so easy to request an appointment on such a late notice. Plus, they were extremely sweet, very professional and they make you feel very comfortable. We were both greeted with water and bowl of candy which I thought was a nice gesture. Yes, It's a small place in downtown Long Beach, however, once you get inside the room it is extremely relaxing with it's simplicity and their massages are amazing ( my mom and I loved them).
