I thought I wrote a review but I guess I didn't! So I found this place many years ago. Probably about 10-12 years. I remembered this place because they're the only ones I've been to that offer the stamp card. Super good deal, btw! Anyway, there's a reason I keep coming back, because obviously, but I need to be specific: Lately, my back has been super sore (been to the gym 3 days in a row and muscles are fatigued PLUS, lower back has been super sore and stiff. Chiropractors help a little but it's not enough) so I was planning on coming here and then going to a Chiro appointment and maybe even acupuncture too! Just a self care kinda day. I earned it! Well, last week, I came here and I asked for someone strong for deep tissue massage (I usually request a male) so I got Lucas (I think?) and he was super strong! He got in the deep muscle tissues to help me release lactic acid and I felt so much better. I got the 90 min (30 min foot and 60 min body) deal and it was WORTH IT! Plus, I tipped on the card. Be generous guys... this is a workout for them! I massaged a few friends a while ago and it makes you sweat! Even a Swedish massage! Anyway, today... I could barely walk and decided to take a 2nd day off of gym. Rolling on a foam didn't work for me. I needed to be kneaded like a dough! IYKYK! lol! So I didn't care who massaged me but I called before driving over and I got an appt within 5 min of getting there. There were several ladies available! Woohoo! I guess they rotate in shift unless you ask for someone specifically. I got Jenny! (Now don't go booking her! She's my new person now! lol!) She was amazing! She saved me a trip to the Chiro! I told them in my broken Chinese-English that I work out and my whole body was super sore... and showed them where it hurt! She understood the assignment! I got another 90 min combo deal and it was less than $100! She did my foot reflexology and calves. Then we moved to the room. I got completely naked and got under the thin, soft sheet. She came in and went to work! Not too hard but just perfect! She stood on my back and released so much tension and tight knots on my back and butt! Wow! Then she used her arms and elbows and hands and dug out all the lactic acid buildup! Seriously... all athletes need to come here. They know what they're doing! I LOVED the hot stones and the stretches she made my body do! My stiff body went "Crack, crack, crack" and I felt like a new and young person again! Saved money on chiropractic appt so I tipped her 40%! She was shocked and so grateful! I was more grateful, are you kidding?! I was also surprised it was almost empty... but not everyone is self employed like me! lol! I heard a guy come in saying it was his first time EVER getting a massage. Too cute! He's in for a treat! This place is a dump. I tried to hard to like them. First time, okay. I asked for a women, but got a man. He was nice, but could not understand any English at all so when I was asking to focus on my left shoulder. He just didn't understand. Second time was a women & she did a good for the price. It's was hard to relax as they seem to have people upset when they leave & now o understand why. So while my 2ed time there are people upset about & I overheard them saying they didn't get their full time & refused to pay the full price. In my mind at this moment, I felt bad as I thought the customer was trying to full one over. But then through my own experiences learned this was probably not the issue after all & was in fact the business. Also I hate to say this, but the place on the 2ed & 3rd visit smelled like armpits, and dirty feet. Body Oder, and then some. I wanted to make it out to old building, and lack of ventilation, but it's not a clean place. Fast forward to my 3rd & final visit. Let me say the only reason I did go back again was my neck & back issues, it being in the neighborhood, and the call same day appointment works nice for me. I would say the prices, but there are many little places like this that offer same type of prices. Anyways, I paid for 60 minute deep massage (not deep in my opinion) seemed more like a regular Swedish, & the 20 minutes extra of the feet for 60$ and feet for 20$ extra a simple total of 80$. They did make me a little nervous before as they said 80$ them 90$ then 80$ and i actually said I'll just stick to the 60$ deep tissue hour, and then they went back to the 80$. Ugh. So anyways, I went with the 80$ deal. Or so I thought ha. after discussing the package I was going to get, I didn't get on the table until 7:10 & then she came in about 5 minutes later. Making it now 7:15 when she started the massage, and it was nice, other then the smell of armpits, but it seemed short. I was relaxed when I left & didn't really pay attention even though on the table I did think it went by fast. I was driving home & looked at my clock, and it said 7:44 pm. I gave her a 20$ tip. Paid 100 total, for what I can confirm a 35 minute massage at most by my call log to call them before i arrived & when I was coming back for difference of 40$ really should have been more as a 30 minute massage there cost 30$ and I just over 30min with the trouble of having to turn around to discuss this with them. I now understand why every time, I've been there someone has been upset up Front as a customer. Nobody wants to deal with that. definitely not after trying to relax and getting a massage. Then as I've witnessed the man who own the place will all the sudden act like he does not understand English. He kept telling me we don't have an 8pm appointment when I called & he clearly I had just been there for a 7pm appointment. He also acknowledged the fact I was supposed to be getting and 80 minute massage & then I'm trying to point out the timeline. It does not line up even close. He then goes to not understanding me. He also hung up on me when I tried to call him once I'm driving home and I see the time on the clock to see how we can resolve this as I'm supposed to still be getting a massage at this time and he hung up on me. So if you do go to this business, I would be very careful of watching the time and confirming the price if you do anything extra other than just there is basic massage or deep massage. Is recommend watching the price and watch the time. One last thing if you use their punchcard for the 20$ off 10th visit make sure to have them sign, and use the red stamp also or Leo will say it's not legit & stamp over where it's been signed from previous visit. So even their own card system for discount that they have by their own decision, they try to cheat out of that and don't honor that. You have to watch them with everything and it's just not the way a massage is supposed to go or any business. 7:55 call time is 10 minute after leo hung up on me & drove me & got my 40$ refund. bottom of the barrel with you. I left from my 7 pm appt & 7:44pm & called at 8:02 as it dawned on me i should still be on the massage table. **** I was still at work at 6 lol you can't just say somebody was somewhere they weren't people these days can prove there's cameras everywhere. I was nowhere near your location at 6 PM. So thank you for acknowledging that you did rip me off and many other people say the similar stuff. You can't just make up false timelines and say somebody was somewhere when they weren't there. Hello there's cameras everywhere. People can prove where they are. I have visited this massage business several times over the years and, while it has never been the most relaxing environment due to staff frequently talking loudly with one another during services, the late operating hours (closing at 10 PM) made it a convenient option when I recently needed relief for significant back pain. During my most recent visit, I paid for both a massage and cupping therapy. At the time of the service, nothing was mentioned about any issues. However, when I got home, I discovered what appeared to be a burn mark on my back. As someone who has received cupping treatments from licensed massage therapists in the past, I am familiar with the circular marks that cupping can leave behind. This was not that. It was clearly a burn. When I contacted the business to express my concern, I was disappointed that the initial response was to suggest that the burn was a normal result of cupping. In my experience, that explanation was inaccurate. They then offered a discount on a future massage as a gesture of goodwill. Against my better judgment, I returned a few weeks later expecting the promised discount, only to learn that it amounted to just $5 off. Considering the fact that I left with a burn from a paid service, this felt dismissive and showed a lack of accountability for what occurred. The combination of an unprofessional environment, an injury sustained during treatment, and a poorly handled customer service response left me extremely disappointed. We came here on a weekend afternoon. The prices were very good, about $50 for an hour massage or $30 for a half-hour massage. The 3 of us opted for a half-hour massage and the tip guideline posted was between $5-$15 for a half-hour massage, which was reasonable. The therapists were knowledgeable -- they used hot stones and pressure points and also some deep tissue techniques. However, my sister said she pointed to her elbow to get massages and the therapist didn't seem to understand that. Overall everyone enjoyed their massages and we thought it was a professional and clean environment. The rooms are divided by curtains. I would recommend this place and would come back next time I'm in town. They charge $2 to use a credit card and you can tip on the card as well, just hope that the tip goes to staff (i thought it was a little odd that the staff didn't walk us out so it wouldn't have been a little tough to tip them). read more

This is an amazing hidden gem in Long Beach. I've been going here for almost 10 years now, so this review is much deserved! The spot is located at the corner of Anahiem and Redondo, it's in the center with the Pollo Loco. Parking is easy, there is a decent sized lot with plenty of spots. I always call ahead, but plenty of people just do walk-ins when I am there. There just might be a little wait without an appointment. It's mostly women working, there is one male and he does a great job too if you are looking for a male masseur. I usually get the 60 minute foot combo massage for $40, with tip I pay $50-$55. This massage is in an open section with about 8 other beds. I take my shirt off and leave on gym shorts. They do a great job keeping privacy. They soak your feet in hot water while they massage your upper body for about 15 min. Then they massage the feet for about 20 min, then finish off with 25 more minutes of a back and neck massage with oil. It's a great session. My wife usually gets the 60 min private body massage for $50, $60-$65 with tip. This is in a private room with a professional massage bed. They even have bars mounted for the therapist to walk on your back upon request. My wife always leaves here feeling great. We never request specific massuers, who ever is working does a great job. They are all trained to do the same technique. It doesn't look amazing from the outside of the building. But they do an exceptional job. Nice little massage joint in Long Beach. Been comin here for 10+ years now and have had consistent service across the board. Always know what I'm going to get for my money. Also appreciate how the prices remain constant over the years (think they've only gone up $10 or so for a full body in last 10 years). I typically get the full body 60 minute massage and it never disappoints. Always leave feeling refreshed and happy with the money well spent. Make sure to request a female and if you are going with your spouse/partner, request separate rooms as the combined room can get a little cramped for my liking. The guy that runs the joint is pretty consistent too, always literally saying the same exact sentences whenever we call to book the appt, arrive at the appt, or approach the massage room (my wife and I love when he says "everything, take off". lol). I think it's pretty standard at these types of massage joints, but expect to tip at minimum $20 for a 60 min massage, otherwise they will give you the death eye and you'll be super uncomfortable, so to not get that feeling right after a long, distressful and relaxing massage, just be prepared to fork up the extra $10 in advance before paying and it will be all good vibez. In the end, you're paying $70 for an hour long full body massage with hot stones & oil, which is still a killer deal. And the masseuses do such a great job every single time I've gone, I don't think I've had a bad experience yet (except when my wife got the main dude at the front as her masseuse she didn't really dig that, one because he was a male, two because his keys jingle-jangle the entire 60 minutes, and three he still plays the front desk role and will answer both calls and people entering mid massage, which is such lame and also super weird. We did 90 minutes and they were great, weren't lazy with it, applied the perfect amount of pressure and Jeanie kept making sure I was going good when she would switch up the pressure. I used to come back here in 2021 when I lived in the area and decided to give it another try when I moved back to Long Beach. While they don't have the most sophisticated appointment system, I usually call ahead to make one, and they reference your phone number when you come in. So, I think they prefer the appointments which I'm happy to make. I generally go for the 60 minute deep tissue massage. For this, they put you in the private room, and the ambience is a lot more relaxing than out in the '' public room '' where other people are getting massages too. The massage itself has been Excellent. I got a polite female massage therapist for my last two visits they stand on your back, and use a lot of hard pressure - which I prefer and need to get in and actually relax my muscles. The price comes to $60 and I usually provide a $20 tip on top of that. I think they prices are so reasonable that I like to give a decent tip too. All in all, I'd recommend this place. It's not in the best of areas, and there can be unsavory people outside, but once you get beyond that it's a solid place. Bonus Points: They also have the A/C turned on which makes the place always amazingly cool and relaxing. I would not be able to get a massage anywhere in LA if they were cheap about the air. I needed the aches and tension to be worked on. My massage therapist started with a head and face massage, then worked on my arms, then feet and legs, and ended with my back. The massage was good pressure and put me to sleep. I left feeling more relaxed and not as sore from being on the road for work travel all week. It can get a bit loud (with the phone ringing and chatter from other massage therapists in the room) so if you're looking for a super quiet spa-like environment then this place isn't for you. I came in for a foot massage this evening and not only was the guy who was doing the massage go extremely hard after I mentioned to easy up, he laughed when I paid because apparently $8 tip isn't good enough? So my bill would have respectfully been $35($2 extra to run a debit card) he charged an EXTRA $8 on top of it. It's easy to find on Anaheim Street and they have good amount of parking in front of their store. So I paid for an hour massage and someone showed me the massage table. İt was good massage but nothing spectacular. They massaged whole body and used whole one hour. They also give me free hot stone treatment which was good. My only concern was that massage tables are separated by curtains so you hear everything. I heard the people talking at the front desk and the guy getting message behind curtain. I've been to this place multiple times for massages and I personally will always highly recommend it! I've had a different masseuse each time I've gone and I have no complaints! Their prices are amazing! $45 for one hour body massage. Personally it's an amazing price and they always seem to be able to fit us in. The only reason I docked it one star is simply because if you're looking for a place that's quiet and zenful while getting a massage.. you won't get it here. I always am prepared to tip generously for a good massage (at a minimum of 20-25%). However, I consider it to be extremely rude for a business to mandate tips, higher than 20% and tell The Customer What they should Tip; Instead of letting the Customers determine what their massage was worth. Their tip schedule starts at almost 30%. (e.g. $20-$40 for a $70 service). The place is older, and can be loud with talking. And no "real" private rooms, but rather curtains separating the massage tables. They turn the music up to drown out the other noises, which can sometimes be counterproductive for a massage service. Overall the massage Technicians are good. But this is not an upscale establishment to be demanding/mandating high tips. It's a convenient place for me to go, but now I'm a bit turned off and will find another spot. They might want to reconsider this practice. read more

Horrible experience and I am sorry I came here! Massage wasn't great but I still tipped 20%. They started to argue with me and told me I didn't tip enough. I'm sorry but I tip a standard 20%, and for a subpar massage that was good enough. I paid via Zelle and the masseuse told me he didn't receive my payment! They made me stand around for 15-20 min. while they were on the phone with someone and finally I told them I had to leave. I showed them the withdrawal from my account to assure them I paid and then they asked for a SCREEN SHOT of my bank account! Definitely not giving any random place a screen shot of my bank account - they must be out of their mind. They then said I could leave, so I did and then they proceeded to CHASE ME to my car and told me to wait for their boss to come. I showed them the Zelle withdrawal AGAIN and they asked for my phone number. At this point, I wasn't giving them any of my personal information. I explained that I paid for the service, I tipped 20% and we were done. I invited them to call the police if they'd like. This was probably one of the worst foot massages I have ever gotten and I have had many. There was barely any pressure and at times it felt like she was just grazing my skin. I asked for more pressure but it didn't make much of a difference so I gave up and just laid there frustrated. I eventually tried to relax and enjoy this light touching. Treated my husband for Father's Day and was hoping it was just my luck with a terrible masseuse and he would have a better experience, unfortunately he did not. I asked him how it was so I can decide how much to tip. $20 is usually my standard and I would leave more or less depending. He said it was mediocre so I wanted to leave $15 but I know times are tough for these workers so I still gave them $20 but will never be back. I made an appointment for 2 people thinking we would get a private room but they still put us in the open area and we were right by the front door even though the rooms were empty. They kept the curtains/drapes knotted up and open during most of the massage and I could see the bright sunlight from outside. If you're looking for any kind of privacy, this is not the place to go. 2 stars because it was easy to book appointment and waited about 10 minutes when we arrived. This was my 2nd time going for massage at Rose Massage. Both times I had the deep tissue massage. I have been a massage therapist for over 30 years. Previously I owed a massage establishment and was located in a couple Health clubs and Chiropractor offices. It's been a LONG time since I've had a really good deep massage. The first time I had a 60 minute massage at Rose. It was the best I'd had in over 20 years! A couple days ago I revisited and went for a 90 minute deep massage! It was incredible!
