For the price, I would skip this place and go to a qualified massage therapist, especially with them having a low standard for customer service. I booked a couples massage and when we arrived they changed it to individual massages. The place is located on second street and it has a pretty cool vibe. The quality of the massage was not the best and it felt more like just something anyone could do. The personnel was very nice but still the massage was not what I expected. I have been coming here for years and my experience today was beyond disappointing. First I was required to pay up front before the service-which was not a requirement in the past. No matter who I had as a masseuse/ it was always good. Today i had specifically requested deep tissue massage and was given a male masseuse when I called to schedule- only to be given a female masseuse who was only rubbing oil on me and wiping it off to start - when I asked to go harder I could tell she was not experienced. She then proceeded to step on my back after I had filled out the form and requested no walking on my back. I made her stop and she just continued to just lightly rub my back. It was not until the end when she stretched me out that force was applied. Sadly this will be my last visit. For the price I paid for what was always a great experience, I would rather go to a cheaper place knowing I would risk a bad massage for a lower price. read more

I've been super loyal to Dee Dee through the years. Understandably, the cost has risen over time. I think customers 100% understand that. But today I arrived for my 60-min combo massage. Soon after submitting the standard paperwork, I was asked, "how would you like to pay for your service today?" I was confused and clarified that I hadn't yet had my treatment. It was then explained that nowadays, they collect payment before treatment. It makes me terribly sad for this business, imagining that people perhaps won't pay for services post-treatment. That simply isn't right. And at the same time, this was an unpleasant exchange and as a person who has never, ever refused to pay anywhere for anything, this really didn't feel right. As for the actual massage today, it was fine. It wasn't amazing. There were some awkward moments. I'm sad to say that with the higher cost now paired with being treated like I'm suspect when it comes to paying and then a sort of vanilla treatment, I'm afraid it's time for me to move on elsewhere. I told her I needed deep tissue and had a lot of tightness, and she truly listened. She focused on every area that needed attention and worked out knots I didn't even know I had. I didn't even get to enjoy a massage because i booked for a couples massage for Valentine's Day, called to confirm our appointment today and they never even booked us!! When i made the appointment last week, the receptionist that answered didn't seem to even know what she was talking about yet booked me for tonight at 6PM. When i called this morning to confirm, they didn't see my name as booked. I told the lady the day and time that i called last week and they said that they must have double booked and couldn't find me in the system. Ruined my Valentine's Day plans. The best they could offer is me is 10% off for another day. Horrible! And no thanks, there are plenty of other massage places in Long Beach that know how to book an appointment.
