No wonder I always see men coming in here. The past three times I've come in for a foot massage (I'm on my feet a lot for work) I can hear men in the other rooms getting much more than just a normal "massage". It made me very uncomfortable. And the woman who did my foot massage fell asleep for a few minutes and stopped, it was awkward. I made an appointment online and when I went in I was "greeted" but someone and I told her I had an appointment for the 30 min body and 30 min feet massage which was 60$ and she said to do the other service that was more expensive less time on the feet. I said no I wanted 30 minutes each. She then had an attitude and guided me to a room. She had me lay down with all my clothes on and I was facing up. I thought that was weird and started to massage my shoulders. It felt super weird and awkward. She then went to "massage" my feet and didn't really because she spent about 25 mins massing my shins. It was just and awkward and unpleasant experience over all. I am traveling with my niece, and I called this place to schedule a foot massage for both of us, and I asked if they had time for 2 people in about 30 minutes, they said we could go in 30 minutes. We walked 30 minutes from our stay to get there under the hot weather since we didn't have a car available. We got there, and the person told me they didn't have availability. I questioned the call, and they told me the person who answered the phone wasn't at the place, so she didn't know the real schedule. Like, how? Why do they answer the phone and confirm availability if they don't know the current schedule? It was super frustrating since I called to confirm availability before taking the walk in the hot sun. I use to come here like twice a month it was great thus the extra star. Haven't been here for a while and today will be the last time. They raised their prices which is understandable under the certain circumstances. Being a generous tipper I was insulted when the lady at the front desk asked for more. She legitimately said "that's it?" I tipped 20% cause of the experience I had. My therapist was doing a good job but definitely got near to the no no zones quite a bit. So this is why I won't be back. I can't say for sure but I think the person next to me was receiving a happy ending. A lot of whispering then you can guess the sounds. I wasn't in the room so it's hearsay but it made me uncomfortable enough not to come back. As a man it's hard as it is to find a legitimate massage parlor that's not trying to "finish the job" so to speak. However, the service was terrible, the lady who massaged me took a total of like 6 phone calls while massaging me and walked away like 4 times and at one point had someone else step in to massage me. I was not too upset until the end when she asked me to leave her a tip, (are you serious) normally I am a big tipper, but this is ridiculous. Great massage but I suggest having someone else run the front desk or have someone else do the massage, it is not ok to multi-task while giving someone a massage then ask for a tip. My husband and I tried this place out on a whim. We called to make sure they were open first. I'd recommend you do the same... Even make an appointment to make sure enough staff will be able to accommodate you. I did the 70 min regular massage and my husband did the 60 min oil body. They were basically full body massages. It turns out our massages were pretty much the same except mine was done in the community room and his was in a more private room (single bed with a curtain as the door). Also, mine came with a foot soak while my face, head, and shoulders were being worked on. Not sure why I got a foot soak... Maybe my feet were grungy cause she did use gloves to massage my feet (no gloves for hubby) ... But I thought it was a nice added bonus. Our massages went something like this: - lay on back - face massage (similar to one you'd get during a facial but better) - head massage - shoulder massage - arms - feet - legs - turn over and lay face down - back legs - shoulders and neck - back Then she threw in a little more on the arms, head and did some pressing and stretching. Although it wasn't the best massage I've ever had, pressure was awesome (a lot more firm than you'd get at other places) and 70 minutes was FOR SURE worth my $30. So after reading the reviews, my wife and I were a little scared to go in for a massage but we decided to try it out anyways since we were at Signal Hill and this massage place was nearby. We went in for the full body couples massage and I believe our masseuses names were Amy and Amanda. I got Amanda and she was so strong! I had to tell her to go a little lighter. I don't know what the bad reviews are talking about because I had an amazing experience and so did my wife! When she stepped on my back, it felt amazing. My back cracked everywhere! It honestly felt so refreshing! I saw a post about them not removing their shoes before stepping on our backs and let me just say that at least it is not true with a Amanda and Amy. I love this place! Started coming in during COVID lockdown (during which they were following all protocols and to this day every massage therapist I've had has worn a mask during treatment). Usually they can take you pretty quickly as a walk-in, only had to wait a couple times and not for long, but you can always call ahead of time and they'll take you right away or give you a wait time. I have never booked a day(s) or week in advance so I can't speak to that. Parking is usually ample. Either in the front on Anaheim street or behind the shop through the alley. The facility is clean and maintained, I know for a fact they mop up the floors real good as I have come early before and the floors were still drying from being mopped. Never had a messy or unkempt room. I think I read people complaining about the smell of food. The rooms do not have full height walls so you can hear mild banter, the washing machine (you want clean sheets and towels right?) and smell food occasionally. I have no problem with this, they work hard, let them eat lunch. Prices are quite reasonable for the service you get, I usually go for the 60-90 minutes, have not been shorted on time ever. They have frequent visitor cards so regulars can get a free 30 minutes after like 10 visits or so. Have never been pressured to tip anyone. Funny though, it's sometimes hard to tell if they're joking when they tell you before you leave "come back, maybe tomorrow." Probably just a language thing. Ambiance is decent enough if that's your thing. A nice little fountain in the front lobby, very low lighting and soothing looped music. (The photos on Yelp are accurate.) Down to the massage! I've had the expensive sports medicine massage, I've had the multidisciplined private provider and your standard stripmall Chinese spot. Oceanview offers a damn fine full body massage. Never had problems with pressure or pain, though if you have any injuries or problem spots let them know ahead of time. Yes, there is a language barrier with pretty much every massage therapist, but simple words and pointing generally works. The lady at the front desk (I believe her name is Lucy) has the best English and should be able to help you out. Regardless they are good at noticing possible problematic signs like scars or lumps/cysts usually they'll ask if you're 'OK' before proceeding or avoiding. If walking on your back is in their repertoire they will ask you first if it's 'OK'. Sometimes the towels they use to clean the massage oil off of you can be kinda hot so I guess watch out for that. Overall Oceanview has treated me well. Affordable, reliable and effective body work. I always come out feeling better than when I went in, especially with the circulation around my calves and ankles. It's not some fancy day spa or Ivy League sports medicine practitioner. It's more of a chill spot where you can get the kinks worked out by your local body mechanics, and quite frankly that is something everyone needs in their life! read more

Let me just start off by saying that I really tried to like this place because they're local to my home plus very cheap! 1. I walk into the place and its an open floor with a lot of massage beds, no lighting except from the back door thats open and thats fine its suppose to have a great ambiance. They have a dirty floor made up of black and white tile. When I saw the beds and the filthy floor I should've left but I didn't. 2. So I choose a package, lay down and the lady who was clearly not licensed was nice but I asked her to ease up a bit because she was hurting me! I said "can you go lighter" She replied "lighter" and then went got a towel and wrapped my head (side eye) idk why this was done but any way she continued with my massage and I was literally in tears and just uncomfortable. 3.The massage tables are not comfortable at all my neck was pressed against the face area and no matter how much I adjusted myself each time she drove her arms into my back my neck would hurt from the face clamp on the table. 4. They talk amongst themselves in the open room while you're laying there. They turned on a loud faucet in the room. It was not relaxing at all! So in conclusion I got up, I had to end the massage after 20 minutes and they still tried to charge me $30 but I ended up paying $20 because I showed her what time I called and what time I came. I get massages on a weekly basis, so I know what is wrong and right. I tried this place as I was in the area. The lady I had didn't understand English and just kept shaking her head and saying "yes". So I tried several times that she was hurting me and she wouldn't stop. She was walking on my back with her Nike tennis shoes on, I asked her to take her shoes off and she just smiled. I usually looove my massages here. They usually walk on my back and I leave feeling refreshed and energized. That was not what I experienced yesterday. A man and a woman was there when I came yesterday. She barely understood English and was rubbing my body as opposed to a massage. The guy came and sai he would finish the massage. He gave me a "decent" massage, but I felt like he was a little close in some parts of my body than I would have preferred. At the end of my massage, I felt a little violated and irritated because he demanded a tip when I didnt even do a full hour massage (35 minutes).
