Staci has been one of the most - if not actually THE most - attentive therapist I have ever had. She is such a calming soul, and it translates into her massage work. No matter how crummy I'm feeling she always leaves me feeling better physically and mentally. I appreciate her attention to detail and ability to work magic on the body. Long story short I had some things going on and was having crazy vertigo for a few weeks - I went to see a doctor and no one could really figure out what was going on. Rather than take medicine (I wanted to leave it as a last resort) I tried getting a massage instead. Let me explain, I go to her every week now (she is totally affordable so you should consider it), and literally every week I come to her with a new muscular malady. Staci, my quads hurt. Staci, my back hurts. Staci, will you use magnesium oil so I can absorb it better? Today it was my jaw, and, man, DID IT HURT. She totally got it and kept on working on it until it got dramatically less sore. I mean massage or a pain pill ... I would go with the massage. She is truly both gifted and knowledgeable: a powerful combination in the world of healthcare professionals. I've had a lot of massages in my life in a variety of places (high-end spas, resorts, cruise ships, gyms, holistic spa centers, you name it) but Staci is by far the BEST. The main reason Staci is so good is that she can get real work done without you even knowing it. It just feels good and relaxing, unlike many other "deep tissue" massages I've received from less skilled therapists. After working a ton of overtime a few months ago my back was killing me from being on the computer and phone so much, but in one 90 minute session Staci worked out all of the pain in my neck & back. She's very intuitive, always seems to find & loosen up the worst spots in my shoulders, and communicates well (and still briefly) to make sure things like room temperature and the amount of pressure are just right. Before the massage, she'll go over how your body is feeling overall, and if you're feeling especially tense in any areas, or if you have pain anywhere. I have fibromyalgia, which can be tricky, but she is alternately gentle & strong where she needs to be, and her work really helps to alleviate the symptoms. Staci has changed my view on how massages should be. I typically did the Groupon type deals for massages but decided to try a real massage therapist and found Staci on Yelp. I tried her and then signed up for a 10 massage package. A few things I noticed that really stuck out 1) the mood, ambiance and Staci's energy makes the experience much more unique and much better 2) having a consistent massage therapist really makes a difference in wellness since she gets to know your pain areas over time 3) the technique is much more 'professional' and fixes muscle pains without having to leverage extreme pressure. Now Staci in particular stands out even more. If I can sum up how she differentiates herself, it would be her attention to detail. For example, she must have a muscle knot radar because she ALWAYS finds where pain points our without me ever saying a word. She also gently moves your limbs and tucks the sheets when moving around the body. She even offered eucalyptus oil to breathe in when she noticed my nose was a bit stuffy. Lastly, Staci has an amazing skill where she has the ability to warm her hands via internal energy (qi in Chinese). You can feel her energy and hands get warm esp towards the end when she is wrapping up. It is an unique experience that you do not get with typical massage therapist. I won a free 1-hour massage from a scholarship dinner for work that I attended a few weeks back. Booking this massage was very easy, Staci is extremely flexible in her scheduling and very friendly through email. Let me tell you, this massage was amazing. She found my trouble spots (my traps) and worked the knots out to the best of her ability. Her massage parlor is small but cozy and very clean. Back in the spring, I pulled something in my left shoulder. Since then, I've experienced some dull pain and stiffness in that area. It just never healed right. I'd complain about it a lot, but didn't know what to do. And then this past week it flared up like no other and I just decided to bite the bullet and get a massage. I felt like there were a few options in the area: (1) cheap massages by questionably licensed masseuses that may or may not really work on the area you need (these are the few massages I've had in the past), (2) crazy expensive massages at chi-chi spas where you're paying for the ambiance, or (3) a more medical-oriented massage which could run the gamut from affordable to you-better-have-insurance-coverage-on-this expensive. I wanted to go for option 3, and a Yelp search of massage therapists in my neighborhood led me to Staci. Because she's new to the West LA area (hence all of these previous reviews being from San Fran), she was offering a $45 for 60 min massage introductory offer (after this it's $60/60 min). She was booked for a few days when I first contacted her, and with my shoulder getting progressively worse I considered going somewhere else, but I stuck it out and waited until Saturday to get a massage by her. And I am very happy that I waited things out. Staci is practicing in a space on the corner of Santa Monica and Carmelina (just over the SM border in West LA). The building has a mix of medical/alternative medical and general office uses. I'm not sure if there's parking, since I walked, but there's plenty of street parking on Carmelina and the adjacent side streets that's all free. The treatment room is pretty sparse but is clean and comfortable, which is what's important. You're not going to sit in a sauna or don a fancy robe or anything like that - but that's the point - she's not masking her talent in a fancy spa environment. When I first got there I filled out an intake form, and discussed with Staci what was going on with my shoulder. She discussed the options I could have with my treatment and made recommendations. She was very communicative pre-massage. For the treatment itself, she focused about 75% of the time on my shoulder and the rest of the time on an upper body massage. Your own massage can be catered to your needs. She was very communicative, especially when doing deep-tissue. She made sure that I was comfortable the entire time, which was great since I rarely get massages. And she checked in from time to time to see if I wanted more/less pressure. She found the exact spot that was causing me all this trouble - and she was able to identify where it was - it wasn't just happenstance and really worked on that area. Staci seemed very knowledgable about the anatomy and took her time approaching the knots/scar tissue that had formed from various angles to relieve discomfort. I can't say that I'm perfectly healed since I think I'll probably need some more shoulder work to get back to 100%. However, the improvement is really phenomenal. I had one massage since my injury at another place that wasn't nearly as responsive about what was going on and was more cookie-cutter in their approach. After that I didn't really feel any better. Right now my shoulder is much less stiff, in much less pain, and I can really feel like it's on track to getting better. Staci is very professional and talented as a massage therapist. While I don't usually budget money to get a monthly massage, I would definitely consider it now. And I would most definitely pay $60 to get a massage by her for a very tailored session over the $45 massages in the area that are less focused on your specific treatment and rather give massages like they're rote tasks. read more

With long hours working in front of a computer and an even longer commute, I can hold so much tension in my neck and shoulders it makes my entire back hurt. Well, no more! Staci was recommended by a friend. She is very good. She created a relaxing atmosphere with lighting and scents. She offered me a deep tissue after listening to a description of my woes. I agreed, but with the caveat that she start off easy since I had a bad experience with that technique in the past. She was fine with the idea and very attentive, checking in frequently regarding the pressure. Shortly after beginning I could tell that she had more of an interest in my comfort than delivering the deep tissue that makes people scream down the hall. I asked her to use as much pressure as she felt necessary. The massage proceeded wonderfully, but challenging as it should have been. Staci was able to pinpoint my trouble spots (or knots) and really work them out.
