Lara is an angel. yeah, that's a good start lol. i tried working with Lara last August and at that time, she declined my request as she was not taking on new clients due to covid and her already working with immuno-compromised clients. i respect that. a lot. i reached out a few weeks ago again and was able to schedule a 30-min tailored massage and 30-min lymphatic drainage massage. i had my session yesterday, and let me tell you, the experience was beyond what i ever expected from a service like this. i mean, the word 'service' doesn't even cut it. Being a hairdresser gives my arms and shoulders a constant work out! I've tried many massage places in the Long Beach area. Both low cost and very expensive... But none seem to address my needs. Lara exudes a healing energy. I am a two time cancer survivor. You really have to be careful about who does your massages per the Society for Oncology Massage. I found Lara on their website as a certified oncology masseuse. My initial impression is that Lara listens. She asks appropriate questions, not simply, "where does it hurt." Rather inquiring about your overall health. She takes the time to explain the levels of touch for survivors and the why. Then..heavenly bliss! Lara has such healing hands. (And she didn't use her elbows...I hate that!). Right pressure. She finishes each stroke, so that it feels relaxing and not abrupt on the body (believe me...I've had massages in over 30 countries...I knew what a good one feels like). She was attentive to what areas I wanted worked on and was very reassuring that I could direct her (more pressure, that feels good right there, that hurts, etc) mid-massage, which was great for me because I tend to stay quiet despite potential discomfort. This was my first appointment with Lara and it was absolutely more than marvelous!! My job entails a lot of computer work which, unfortunately, transmits a lot of shoulder pain as well as numbness and pain in my right elbow. It's so hard to put into words what amazing gifts Lara has. I was referred to her by a chain of friends who have been going to her for years and I have referred more friends to her. My boyfriend bikes, I play volleyball, and together we rock climb (not to mention our physical strenuous jobs), so our bodies came wrecked to Lara. My husband and I go to Lara for our cupping and massages. We found her through grpon and now we are on our 2nd packages with her. Her prices are very reasonable. She offers packages and has promos. When she does cupping, she moves the cups around and gets all the tension out! We typically get a 30 min cupping and 60 min massage, it's heaven! Her pressure is a mixture of deep and light depending on what my body is telling her. Her sessions are very relaxing. She does deep breathing when she massages which encourages me to deep breath.
