Sacred Root's is a beautiful gem , I discovered. I am taking their 6 week course, and it is, just so soothing , relaxing but yet stimulating. It is a massage on the brain , heart and soul. Jocelyn and Jenny are both amazing, insightful and welcoming instructors (also co-owners) . They make you feel welcomed, safe and are extremely encouraging . The space itself and classmates, are so non judgemental- you can just get into the zone you need/desire very quickly. The course cover's a variety of subjects from the basics of Ayurveda and Self Massage, nourishment; covering the benefits of different teas, spices and oils for the digestive system. Your living space and how to incorporate Feng Shui and the 5 elements. You learn different meditations and what works and does not work for you. You practice adopting a daily mantra and positive affirmation (s). They also have great guest speakers. There is so much that gets covered in this (once) a week course, that it would be way to long of a review to write. Jocelyn and Jenny are great at communicating after each course, through emails ....and preparing us for the prior week. They respond to your questions, on days you are not in the class. And, they let you make up a class in the next round of sessions, if you missed a class or 2 during yours . They also offer other classes and services (sauna, massages, acupunture etc.), that are not part of the 6 week course . I will definitely be taking advantage of what they have to offer. If you feel the need for some self love and reflection....this is the spot!

Where do I begin to dote upon this sincerely sacred space, which is rich in multi-modality Healers that are as thoroughly beautiful in Spirit as they are talented? First, let me begin by acknowledging that Sacred Roots has become a true home away from home for me. And given that I was a former long-term hermit due to a chronic, physically debilitating illness, that alone is massive shift. Second, I must take accountability for personal bias, as I had long avoided many "holistic" businesses after some unfortunate experiences with less than reputable practitioners. However, Sacred Roots transmuted those experiences and yet again reminded me that sometimes our disappointments are the Universe's way of realigning us in the right direction. And, when at last I began taking full accountability for my whole-person health, divine timing graciously led me to enter this sanctuary. Once there, I quickly became a regular, initially attending an intimate Group for Mom's, a highly supportive Sacred Self-Care Course and Insight LB's Sunday Sits (i.e. group meditation). From there I began to align with each and every one of the Spirited practitioners AND patrons I met, therein I began regularly attending ceremonies, soundbaths and receiving bodywork and reiki, too. As someone who has fought an "incurable" condition for the better portion of their life, and who nearly died due to faulty allopathy, it was beyond transformative to experience such rapid healing through this multi-modality holistic approach. Moreover, old negative habits quickly fell to the wayside as I learned to integrate these more healthful practices into my daily life, and as such I experienced exceptionally rapid healing in mind, body, Spirit and emotion. Additionally, through Sacred Roots I have been able to revitalize Self-Care as a non-negotiable priority. As the full-time mother of two young boys, I had deeply denied my own needs over the past few years, and I am well aware that, in part, poor life style choices led to my autoimmune dis-ease coming back full-throttle. However, after attending the aforementioned healing sessions, groups, meditations and ceremonies, aided by a conscious commitment to consistently clean lifestyle choices (e.g. diet, exercise, etc), homeopathy and acupuncture, I am now experiencing complete "spontaneous remission" nine months after receiving a terminal prognosis. Moreover, the situationally-induced depression and indescribable chronic pain that lead me to isolate has long lifted and the toxic relationships, which likewise fed my dis-ease naturally faded away for the better, and have effortlessly been replaced by new, healthier friendships and/or practices. Gratitude falls immeasurably short of the feelings I have for the team at Sacred Roots. To me, they are Earth Angeles and will forever reside near and dear to my heart. I could not have made the incomprehensible feats I accomplished this past year without the support of community. No one can. We are all interconnected, and we thrive when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable and transparent in an atmosphere of non-judgment. With that, I highly recommend all of the practitioners at Sacred Roots. If you are seeking a safe haven where you will be welcomed as, to borrow owner Jocelyn's vernacular, "A treasured guest," than this will become your place of refuge. Healing is done in layers, and yes, it's messy, but it's indescribably beautiful, too. And it's made all the more poignant when you do it with the support of both practitioners and a community that genuinely wish to see you thrive. Sacred Roots provides a space for all that and more. All you need to bring is an open heart-mind and an intention to receive. In closing, I'm beyond thankful to have this establishment in our Long Beach community, and I am even more honored to now call every one there a beloved friend.
