Been a customer since they opened and friends with prior employee Cliff. Never had a bad experience till today. Asked the lone cashier, a older gray haired, heavy woman for assistance as no employees were in front, thought I was asking for the moon. Then when I brought my items up there I stood 1 register away from hers ( the last out of 3 ) while she rang another customer up. She rudely told me to step back past the first register , "where the line starts " No line and the other registers were closed, no need to send me back. When I shook my head at her rudeness she loudly said "We have signs all over to show you where to wait " Not sure I'll ever be back as long as I know she works there, I'm sure I'm not the only one to deal with this RUDE you know what !! read more

Was here yesterday looking for nails. Left with everything but nails lol. Took my sweet time this time around. I just finally started getting back into construction n carpentry again and i needed some stuff so i can starts building the deck n my "she-shed". Easy build to. If u can build a castle with legos? U can build anything. I added the soldering tools i was missing to help me strip mobos better. I want to build a nice magnetic heat coil smelter. Not hard to make either. Found out they sell many power tools really affordable, they got sanding units n compressors in good prices. Was hoping to see the motorcycle bench they got on their webpage. I just wanted to see it in person. Once i get my job back n afford my own place again. I would dare n buy the bench. Nice side money building bikes or tuning them. Once i save enough shenanigan money i will come back for a nice compressor. I'll wait till the garage is more cleaned to add a tool bench to hold all my car n motorcycle gear. I have an idea which one i want. Staff was very alert, store was cleaned just heavily bombarded lol they all handled it nicely. The line was huge but it went by real quick. read more

Wow, this store is awesome. Packed with everything you need to work with. Tools, equipment, tool boxes, etc! Very neat and well organized. I was really impressed. Unfortunately they did not have what I was looking for, but it was fun walking around looking at everything. Reasonably priced too! read more

Excellent boutique tool, hardware, power tool store and alternative to Lowe's and Home Depot. Harbor freight actually manufacturers all of their products featured within the store and has by far the best service. The strongest positive is the cost/quality aspect. Easily the lowest prices possible (especially on their Chicago Power brand power tools). I was obviously skeptical at first but have had no issue with a hammer drill and circular saw purchased over a year ago (at approx 20% of the cost of one of the popular brands). Their website is my first stop for any item before checking a Lowe's or Home Depot. The only negative is the limited inventory compared to the larger stores. read more

Super busy all the time. The staff at this store are always on the go but all are friendly and glad to help with what you need. They know where everything is and they're even happy to help load your purchase. When they're finished helping you, chances are, someone else is waiting for their attention. Don't except them to have time to socialize and you'll be fine. The store is always clean and orderly. Even the bathrooms. read more

I went to the store for a specific item. I arrived and there was plenty of parking. The store was neat and nicely labeled. I was able to get to the section needed easily. However, the item I needed was not in stock. Online it showed as available, but that was not accurate. The staff assisted me and verified it was not available. I found something similar and checked out quickly. Once the line gets a little longer, they opened a second cashier. read more

I have to admit I was treated pretty crappy here this evening. I really needed to get something for our worksite in the morning but the lady at the door made it very clear I was not entering to get one item because I was two minutes after seven. I guess I will be giving all my business to Lowe's if they don't want to cut a valued customer some slack because some employee can't wait to clock out. read more

Why 4 Stars.... because it is a drive to get to. I love these stores. Cheap in price and decent quality. I have used many items from Harbor Freight in the past and never thought I got ripped off. The items I have used have been abused but still keep on going. My fiancé does not like going to the store because of the smell. Its not this specific store but in general these stores. I don't mind it, especially when I am saving big dollars. Definitely use the coupons to save much more money. I do my shopping when I have a coupon for a specific item. I do love the freebies they offer and have like 10 tape measures lol. This is good for me because I misplace them continuously when doing projects. I wish they would move this store more central to Brandon. This would help my commute and their business for them. The cashier was friendly and there was no lines when we checked out. The store was organized and the shelves well stocked. Definitely love the fact that I can get some hard to find tools at a really reasonable price! read more

Very convenient and many items are still good quality from my experience. If you are a professional contractor who uses a tool on a daily basis, then or course many of the items harbor freight offers may not be for you. But at the same time they have begun carrying some higher quality power tools. Coupled with the cheap extended warranties they may do the trick. For me who uses their tools a few times a month and a little more when I have home improvement projects, everything works well. Also the staff is friendly and always helpful. Don't forget you coupon on each visit! They accept digital too! read more

If you go to the Harbor Freight store in Valrico, try to remember to take a calculator with you and keep track of the cost of the things you are buying. I was overcharged AGAIN when I went in today, by almost $50. Luckily, I stopped right outside the door and found that I had been overcharged for 5 items. I was charged for 4 of an item when I only had one, and overcharged on 2 other items. I didn't get an apology from either the female cashier or her manager. This happens at least 2 out of 3 times that I go in there, almost like the cashiers are trained to overcharge customers. The prices are reasonable but the help is terrible. read more

My fiancé and I have come here many times. They have a great selection of tools decently priced! Which comes in handy when I find some new project to make and we need tools. The store is set up easy enough to navigate and the staff are friendly enough to help you find what you need. Make sure you check the paper for coupons! read more

This store gets four stars just for the prices. They would get another star if the lines weren't so long and if they were more organized with customer service. My husband and I were impressed with the almost half off prices from other home improvement stores. It's definitely too small though all that stuff could fit into a much bigger space for easier location of products. Either way the price is right and the tools are decent. We bought a rotary hammer, used it for an hour and the handle broke off- they were easy to exchange it for a new one though so it was ok. They were very nice about the exchange and friendly. We saved over 200$ on our visit so I will be back. Look for coupons in your newspaper too they always have them which makes prices even better! read more

I like harbor freight. They always have a great selection and great prices. I went in to grab some zip ties and there were two managers standing by the front doors talking about a meeting and conference call. I stood there looking for anyone to point me in the right direction....they both looked at me without so much as a smile and carried on with the conversation. The 1 cashier ringing had 3 people in line. I had to ask her which aisle they were in. When it came time to pay the cashier, she was talking to one of the managers that was talking earlier. They were discussing getting a tattoo. She had to ask me 3 times for my phone number. Didn't acknowledge me....just rang it up. Then the phone rang and she answered it before finishing the transaction. A 5 minute purchase took 15. Terrible customer service. read more

I went to this store today to make a small purchase. This is my first time in a Harbor freight in Florida, I loved the ones I've been to in other states. There must have been 12 employees, I finally found a nice lady to help me. Then I needed to pay, only one register was open, then the other girl finally opens as I have stood inline behind 1 person for 15 mins the cashier looks at me and says hey I have to text somebody could you go to her line... and that other cashier just sent everyone to the line I was in because she had no cash. Seriously??? I should've been in and out of that store in less than 5 mins. Except for one lady who was putting merchandise away no one was doing anything to help anyone.... I tossed my 1 item on the counter and left and the cashier made a crude remark and was still complaining about needing to text someone. Very disappointing. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars was because of the lady that pointed to my item. read more

I Purchased the Lynxx 40 volt Lithium Cordless Pole Saw, when I opened it there was no battery, took it to the store and the manager refused to give me another one or to give me a battery because, it was purchased on line, however if you read their return policy it states that you can return online purchases at any store also if you purchase at a difference store it can be returned to any other store. The customer service provided by the manager here is terrible, however the cashier and the store supervisor tried to get the manager to exchange it and they stated they didn't think what she did was right. since the saw is of no use without a battery I was forced to purchased one. I will never purchase from Harbor Freight again, and would not recommend buying anything from that store. read more
