Great Hobby lobby location! Friendly staff, and a huge selection of crafting items. Hobby lobby is a creative person's dream. I love being able to find everything I need for a craft project at decent prices.

Finally a Hobby Lobby built near me! No more 45 minute drives to the nearest one! Just recently opened and it was packeddd! With good cause of course because the amount of items and things to choose from was a lot! Big selection on almost anything you could think of. I'm a big Marvel fan and love to decorate my man cave with anything Marvel superhero related, and this store has just that. Star Wars items to fill my nerdy needs. Fabric for my mom to sew with. Many crafts for those artistic hands out there! Go check them out!

I had not been to Sam's since they moved across the street a few years ago. As a customer I went for some colored pencils and the staff was extremely helpful in finding items for a gift. I was walked by a staff member to several areas of the store and items to choose from were placed in my hands while the staff member explained the features and made recommendations. The level of customer service and help is something you don't commonly see in retail stores these days. The store has a tranquil vibe which makes it fun to browse the many gift items. Their stock is unique in that they carry a breadth of items that are high quality at a range of prices. You can spend a lot of time here finding inspiration and treasures. They offer art classes and during the Christmas season they offered free make and take craft classes. They had a small cardboard 'house or cottage' setup inside the store with tables stocked with all the supplies you needed for that weeks's free project. This was not just for kids. My friend and I had fun making gift tags the day we were visiting the store. The store is beautiful inside and out. The beautiful murals that cover the outside walls echo the beauty and fun you will find inside the store. Since they are popular the parking lot can get pretty full.

Sophie, the Owner, also offers unique specialty classes like teacup succulent gardens, tote paint night, beaded flowers and vase painting, bedazzling a favorite book, to name just a few. A really interesting and original variety. I took a Pet Portrait Painting class and had so much fun. I did realize though that I am very errr.. particular, so perhaps painting is not my artistic future. Sophie was incredibly helpful when it came to getting started and progressing along, plus mixing colors to achieve the look I wanted. Bonus that cool tunes were playing throughout our painting. I am really happy with how the portrait of my kitten turned out. We even left with our pictures in an upcycled frame. She has a bunch of fun things planned for the future, so I can definitely say I'll be a regular. Parking was easy as there is free lot attached to the building. Some beverages and light snacks are available for purchase, as well as take home art projects like cross stitch and embroidery.

It's sort of like the goodwill and used book store equivalent of crafting supplies... and at really dirt cheap prices. You can't come in with any expectation of what you're going to find. Overall they carry supplies for most crafting hobbies - yarn, fabric, stamps, paper, misc gadgets, cross stitch kits... I grabbed a chunk of denim fabric for $3 that I haven't even unrolled to look at (it's just handy to always have extra for mockups), and I was super tempted with what appeared to be salvage sari trim, but many things are folded and put into plastic bags or on some sort of cardstock and it's very difficult to gauge yardage of anything. Everything is very clearly marked with a dirt cheap price tag (and some things at the front door having an additional buy one get one half off type promo). The cashier was super nice and didn't rush out even though I finally walked out a couple minutes after closing. I have no idea what their trade in system is like but I would definitely consider dumping some of my excess materials here the next time I whittle my hoard down!

Back then or even twenty years ago it was no surprise to find an actual scrapbook store throughout many cities. Sadly, now, it is almost impossible to find brick and mortar store. I believe when I moved down to Florida 18 years ago there were 3 stores that I frequented often and now, only Scraporium is left. When I am in the Carrollwood or Lutz area , I always stop in if it's during business hours to see what they have added to the store or if there is anything that I must have. The ladies that work, there are always so nice and polite and willing to help find anything that you may be looking for that. They have as the store is very packful of various goodies. Some things were a good price and some things were higher than average. But the fact that it's a small and local place made me comfortable paying a premium. There was a woman when we walked in that acknowledged us but we weren't sure if she was a manager or just a customer. When we went to pay, we were second in line and the lady at the cash register (I assume owner) disappeared without saying a word after she helped the people in front of us. Not sure what happened but we waited several minutes before we could check out. No other customers were in the store at the time. I'll be back, though :)
