As I traveled from one furniture store to another it became obvious that not all stores are alike in price, customer service or merchandise. I was having a tough time finding the items I wanted at a Black Friday price. I was ready to give up but decided to make one last stop for furniture at American Freight, Tampa. This unpretentious furniture warehouse makes up for it's lack of gleaming showrooms and neatly positioned furniture with a large selection of merchandise, value priced and customer service that made my stop worthwhile. As I entered, Manager Will greeted me, asked what I was looking for and pointed me in the direction of the items i was looking for. He told me to search for the items I wanted and advise him when I was ready and he would answer any questions I had. He indicated that customers seem to prefer to shop without a sales clerk hovering over them, knowing that when they found what they were looking for or had questions they could ask for assistance. I was impressed with the large selection and price range of the items in this vast warehouse. When I had located all the items I was searching for, I sought his assistance and he was able to secure the price, colors and style I was searching for without upselling. The process seems to work well as the many shoppers there seemed content to browse for what they wanted. The customer service of those present to assist was appreciated as was the significant savings on the items I purchased.

Honestly they do have some lower-ish prices but it's mostly higher end, Nice quality furniture. The lady who greeted me was very friendly, and informed me that due to the Covid chaos they are selling pieces off the showroom floor if needed. Otherwise everything is available to order. Not a huge place, but definitely much larger than it looks from the outside!!

I drove 100+ miles and picked up my kitchen. After spending a few hours assembling the cabinets I realized that the cabinets were not the right size. 30" vs the 36" I had indicated that I needed. I was Not happy but decided to just deal with it and use what I was sold. When I went to install the cabinets on the wall I realized that the over the refrigerator cabinet was 24" deep instead of the 14" that I had requested to match the depth of the rest of the cabinets. This was a deal breaker for me as this cabinet door would not open due to it hitting the refrigerator hinges. I called customer service and spoke with someone that I could barely understand and explained the situation. When I was done explaining, the line was disconnected!!!. I started over and spoke to another person that was hard to understand with a dog barking in the background. This person set me up with an online appointment to resolve the problem. Six hours later I had the online appointment where the nice person that I could understand explained to me that they only designed kitchens and had no authority to resolve the situation. He then gave me a phone number to call to resolve the situation which was the same number that I had originally called. I called again and the individual I spoke to didnt seem to have enough knowledge about their product to help me. At this point I asked to return the cabinets. Ikea will pick up the cabinets in 9 DAYS. Then 5-6 business days later I will be refunded the money. So now I have to wait two more weeks to be able to reorder cabinets elsewhere because my money is tied up by this fiasco!
