Some items are more "cheap" quality than others but overall, decent. I love the showrooms and being able to touch and experience what it actually feels like to be in that room. The kitchen designer got the order completely wrong. I ordered this kitchen in the store and trusted that the sales rep was ordering what I told him my need was. I drove 100+ miles and picked up my kitchen. After spending a few hours assembling the cabinets I realized that the cabinets were not the right size. 30" vs the 36" I had indicated that I needed. I was Not happy but decided to just deal with it and use what I was sold. When I went to install the cabinets on the wall I realized that the over the refrigerator cabinet was 24" deep instead of the 14" that I had requested to match the depth of the rest of the cabinets. This was a deal breaker for me as this cabinet door would not open due to it hitting the refrigerator hinges. I called customer service and spoke with someone that I could barely understand and explained the situation. When I was done explaining, the line was disconnected!!!. I started over and spoke to another person that was hard to understand with a dog barking in the background. This person set me up with an online appointment to resolve the problem. Six hours later I had the online appointment where the nice person that I could understand explained to me that they only designed kitchens and had no authority to resolve the situation. He then gave me a phone number to call to resolve the situation which was the same number that I had originally called. I called again and the individual I spoke to didnt seem to have enough knowledge about their product to help me. At this point I asked to return the cabinets. Ikea will pick up the cabinets in 9 DAYS. Then 5-6 business days later I will be refunded the money. So now I have to wait two more weeks to be able to reorder cabinets elsewhere because my money is tied up by this fiasco! read more

The best furniture store ever! I love how useful and how easy everything is. The quality is unbeatable and the prices are affordable! I love how the products are stackable when purchased so you're not hauling misplace and big boxes. IKEA is my go to place for furniture forever. Only con is their curbside pickup doesn't work most days so if you're in a hurry and choose that option, you might drive there disappointed and needing to go into the store instead. Check-in process for that can be a lot faster but it is what it is. I still love IKEA though! read more

My cousin and I had a free day and decided to stop by IKEA and walk around. We had a great time walking around and acting out different scenarios in the staged rooms they have on display. We decided to share a plate from the restaurant for lunch. The employees were nice and kept their customer service throughout the rush hour. They had a couple of meals to choose from and ultimately decided the basic chicken tender and fry meal looked the most edible. We got two drinks, an apple desert cake, 2 chicken tenders and fries, and a side of the Swedish meatballs all for under $20! That's not bad! Everything was as expected not bad but also not something I'd be craving anytime soon. It did the job and it was an interesting experience, as we have never eaten at the restaurant before. It is cafeteria style where you grab what you want but for the main dish and hot sides you tell the staff what you want and they scoop it for you then you keep working your way down to the cashier. We got their super early in the morning not really having a plan on what to buy but we noticed when we got upstairs that IKEA actually sells breakfast from 10 to 11am which is pretty shocking because I never knew that they had croissants, cinnamon rolls full breakfast like eggs and Potatoes and bacon, I thought was pretty interesting. I recently had run out of space on my bookshelf (the well-loved Billy style in the short three shelf size) and came in with a plan to simply get another one to stack beside it. However, books are back in style & showcasing them comes with far more options nowadays. There were stylized rooms as well as dedicated storage sections that I took my time browsing, and honestly almost came home with the Hemnes or the Vihals - both were solid choices, but my tried & true Billy was available in a larger 6 shelf, twice as wide size for just $69! I couldn't beat the price on that, and I already knew the durability was enough for my needs. Now besides the bookshelf that I came for, I also paid far too much attention to desk chairs, reading lights, the food, and the live plants. I needed none of that, and probably would've come home with all of it if I wasn't supervised shopping with a friend. I also appreciated the lack of employees pestering you. If you wanted help, there were plenty of self-serve stations to guide you, as well as plenty of design spaces with employees ready for those who wanted the extra assistance. But it was so nice to be able to just explore without having to tell 7 different people you "were just looking" or "all set, thanks". They've got dedicated loading spaces across the front to make it a quick and easy process after checking out, and even offer complimentary twine to help secure your purchases in/on your vehicle. The worst experience ever! We were told the new couch would be delivered on Saturday morning, February 8, and the delivery people would remove our old couch. The delivery was late and the driver would not take the old couch. He said another truck was supposed to come and pick it up. This is unlike any other company we have dealt with for furniture or appliance delivery. We were told the second truck would arrive between 2 and 4 pm; we were told between 4 and 6 pm; then we were told between 6 and 8 pm. We had concert tickets for 7:30 and, in the end, the truck never showed up. We spent over an hour on the phone being transferred back and forth between Ikea and the trucking company to no avail. They can't even give us a new pickup time, nor would they refund the charge we paid to have the old couch taken away without first "reviewing it" for 48 hours! To get the couch out of here by Sunday morning and make room for the new couch, we had to hire a private junk hauler to come on Sunday morning at our expense! I won't even try to get Ikea to reimburse us for that charge! NEVER AGAIN! BYE BYE, IKEA! read more

We always look forward to a trip into Tampa to visit IKEA. Not only are the products and furniture inexpensive, but the food counter downstairs (pretzels, pizza, ice cream) and the cafe upstairs are a brilliant forethought on IKEA's part... If you're going to send us through a literal maze of furniture, and made-up living rooms, bedrooms and kitchens, make sure we aren't "hangry" when we do it! We look forward to the Swedish meatball plate (choice between 8 and 16 meatballs), and sometimes my wife branches out for the salmon, like she did this time around -- but only because the digital menu showed "plant based meatballs" when she looked up at it, not realizing it would change and show the normal meatballs as well. The line staff are very friendly and helpful with suggestions, the food is really good, and the price is amazing -- and if you are a rewards member, whatever you spend in the cafe is deducted like a coupon off what you buy in the store (as long as it's $150 or more). Our one complaint this trip was that the fountain drinks weren't available, causing us to buy a couple bottles of Pepsi... a small headache, but we didn't get much explanation from the person at the register -- they were a bit overwhelmed and you could tell they didn't want to answer the same questions... IKEA should've had a sign somewhere along the line telling us we couldn't get the combo price, and that the fountain drinks were shut down. Regardless, we love IKEA and we will be back! read more

This place can be confusing if you've never been here before. When you first walk in, there are stairs to the showroom. It's an area that allows you to look around and see what items they have. Everything is all set up and styled so you are able to see what it would look like in your home or office. If you see something you like, make sure to look at the tag, take a picture of it so you can find it later in the self serve area. If you plan to buy it. A majority of the items can be found later in the self serve area. Imagine Home Depot or something that looks like a warehouse. Everything is labeled so you can easily find it later. Some of the items can be picked up in the show room but not a lot of the big furniture items that has to be put together. They have bags and carts you can use as you walk through the store. You would return the bag when you are ready to check out. When you are ready to check out you can buy a reusable bag for under a $1. *Make sure to join the ikea family so you can save 5% each visit. Just google "join ikea family." Please do it before checking out. Because it takes a little time.* IKEA has a restaurant as well. I haven't tried their food yet but I'm sure I will eventually. They have a fairly wide selection for all things home and garden. The quality isn't exceptional, but you get what you pay for and their decorative merchandise always adds a nice touch to finished rooms, at a very reasonable prices. Self- checkout was a breeze. The bathrooms are very clean. We also tried some food from their bistro cafe (conveniently located next to self checkout). For $7 we left with a pretzel & mustard, a tiny hotdog, frozen yogurt and a water. Bought two beds, paid for delivery, and furniture assembly services in Tampa, FL. The delivery was incomplete, according to the assembly services, so it was impossible to put them together. Customer service is not helpful at all; it seems there is no interconnection between departments, and it is impossible to solve a problem. This review is only for the food & restaurant experience. I stopped by last week after forgetting my lunch at home. It is close to work and I have enjoyed the meatballs in the past. I arrived around 11:30 and it wasn't very busy. I did manage to get behind a few snowbirds who couldn't figure out the lunch line, so they did slow down the line quite a bit. The service was fast and friendly from the Ikea folks. I grabbed a dozen meatballs, a Greek salad, and a side of chicken breast. The cashier who rang me up was pleasant and I can't complain for a $13 lunch. The food was good. Meatballs are always tasty and the salad had great flavor with the dressing provided. I could have been in and out in under a half hour, but sadly, there is no way to get out of the upstairs cafeteria without walking through all of the display floor. This adds an extra few minutes that was completely unnecessary. Then you have to navigate through the checkout without having any goods. I asked one of the employees if there was a way out after eating without having to walk through the showroom floor. She said not really unless you ask somebody to let you through the locked door. She did suggest eating at the lower floor bistro, but they lack the variety the upstairs cafeteria offers. Overall, food was decent and the navigation was painful. The restaurant is open daily from 11 AM to 7 PM; it has a separate Yelp page. For safety reasons, Smaland play area for children is currently closed until further notice. I swore I would NEVER step foot inside this megastore, but I broke that promise today. A bit of a furniture snob (mostly 1920's thu 1940's grace my home), I never expected to find anything redeeming here, but I definitely did after a friend said everyone should view Ikea in action at least once in his/her lifetime. After finding a parking spot (one of 1,700 spots) in the ginormous parking lot, I walked inside & almost immediately experienced SENSORY OVERLOAD. I am not joking; it felt as though my jaw dragged behind me w/ every step along the carefully laid out path to a unique shopping experience. Upon entering, I was first greeted by a large sign advertising the second floor restaurant-- there's an escalator (as well as an elevator) to reach it. I stopped in later to take pics. (I would have eaten here had the cafeteria-style line not been so long.) Large, yellow plastic bags are available for shopping use, but also available are standard grocery carts. Then there's the series of floor arrows & overhead signs to follow-- kinda like the Yellow Brick Road, which may be why yellow shopping bags are offered-- my English teacher brain would like to believe so:) I walked through each of the 49 "rooms" (aka sections). All the basics were covered: kitchen; dining room; living room; game room; home office; bedroom; baby room; bathroom; along w/ rugs, mattresses, home textiles, storage, candles, artificial flowers/greenery, holiday home decor; & so much more! Then I reached the entry way to the mesmerizing furniture section (L00K up!) followed by Checkout-- 18 registers; & finally a To Go Cafe that offered pizza, hotdogs, a salad, one vegan offering, & limited beverages. Through my shock & awe over the enormity of Ikea, I did enjoy what appeared to be GOOD TO LOW PRICING. I filled my cart w/ scented candles that were 5x less costly than what I would be expected to pay elsewhere; colorful 50-count paper dinner napkins (dirt cheap @ $1.99); & excellent quality 20 x 20 accent pillow coverings @ $11, which is a phenomenal price. Should I ever need additional STORAGE CONTAINERS, this will be where I come-- very good pricing! My masked checkout cashier (hidden by lots of plexiglass & caution), was extremely friendly. She welcomed me & expressed similar feelings about the vast quantity of items sold under such a huge roof. Before I reached her, I gathered that I would need to buy a handheld plastic bag for my stash; thankfully, there's a shelf of bags for purchase in front of every register, including the self checkout section that was tended to by a lone staffer. WHAT ELSE IS OFFERED HERE? Interested patrons can book a Kitchen Planning appointment. Assembly through TaskRabbit is offered. DoorDash will bring groceries to your home. Virtual organizational workshops are offered, as well as other monthly events, such as free crafts kits for kids (already closed for December)-- check the ONLINE SCHEDULE FOR ALL CURRENT IKEA EVENTS. After walking my items to my vehicle, I returned to check out the second floor restaurant that seats 350 diners & offers Swedish & American food. Seeing dozens of people corralled in a cattle-like line awaiting to order lunch was unappetizing, so I took pics & headed to Whole Foods to grab a hot lunch:) I did hear from friends that the Ikea food is good (especially the Swedish Meatball entree) & offered @ reasonable prices. Should I ever return to this facility for storage items, I'll probably give them a try. Shopping here was definitely an interesting experience!
