I ordered online and after two weeks of seeing my order still pending, I canceled my order. 20 days after my cancellation they still processed my order and shipped the items. I learned my money would be tied up until I received the Items (THAT HAD BEEN CANCELLED) and returned them to the store or HF via FedEx. After 30 minutes on hold. The customer service person "Janelle" informed me that it did not matter if I continued to be a customer or not. The fact that this was very wrong to bill an order that had been canceled never seemed to bother her in the least. No apology, no remorse. PS. they don't need customers. Compared to other HF stores I've been to in the Tampa area, this one is impeccable. Product is well organized, and they do a great job with keeping ample stock on the shelves. The wife and I went in here on a Sunday, thinking it was going to be bombed out, but we were able to find all of our moving supplies, including having our pick of hand trucks from over 20+ that were on display on the showroom floor. Harbor Freight Tools is your place to go to when you're trying to do some sort of home improvement or small project on a budget. Everything in the store is off brands and brands that you won't really find at a Lowes or Home Depot. With that being said, the prices are extremely reasonable. I recently came in here just to look around and ended up purchasing a set of 12 drill bits for under $3. I'm sure they will eventually break, but for that price, it was hard to pass on them. The inventory selection here is more than I thought it would be and the selection of different tools leaves customers with lots of options due to the high inventory. When you're looking for some cheap tools to have around the house or need some equipment for a home improvement or DIY project, stop in here first before going into any other hardware store. read more

This chain features a lot of cheap Chinese-made tools with weird brand names you've never heard of before. However, many of them look okay if you're in need of a tool for a one-time household chore. The selection is extensive. I'm not sure any professionals who work with tools would buy here, but I could be wrong. The prices are slightly below what you would pay at a large hardware chain like Lowe's or Home Depot. I came in for an electric chainsaw that I had seen on their website. But when I got there, they no longer carried it, and instead, had an off-brand one that I did not like the looks of. I wanted it to be over after walking in. But I am biased and really hate making automotive stops, but it seems a necessity in my life of old Jeeps & motorcycle maintenance. *sigh* only had one girl working the registers, but in all the long line chaos she was still calm, cool & sweet. She liked my rainbow hair and was quite kind when I was just dying slowly, desperate to leave. My husband had the wrong stuff a few times and just popping back to the rack when we kept noticing the item we had in our hands either was previously opened and reassembled poorly, ripped, dented....greasy... so finally we just grabbed what we needed and unfortunately went back to wait in the long line stretching back to the main aisles...twice. We were luckily able to use a 20% off one item coupon I found online, even thought it had no barcode, and only had a series of numbers. The coupon still totally worked, and Priscilla was an awesome help. So a tip, if you find coupons meant for online purchases, they still work here, just don't try doubling up multiple coupons for 1 item, it doesn't work. This took a solid 5 minutes explaining to the gentleman in front of us, holding up the excruciatingly painful line, so beware, only pick your favorite & best coupon, and that's what you can use. read more

This is my go to place for tools as of recently. Many of the tools are close to half the price of home Depot or Lowe's and if you are a part time Diy'er like myself, they hold up during most projects. Most recently I bought a paint sprayer which worked well but kept getting clogged after long periods of usage. They have a very lenient return policy so it's never really an issue to exchange your product for a new one and sometimes no receipt is needed. They also ALWAYS have a 20% off coupon available so definitely take advantage of it if you decide to go. read more

Well I made the mistake of checking the other home improvement store first George finally coming here. The prices here are pretty good in comparison to the other places around the area. This is not a big home improvement place however. I would say it's more of a place for contractors and such. Not all the prices beat the competitors in the area, but on little tools and bulk deals that take the cake. They do have a good selection to choose from here but not much in the electric/home theater area in terms of outlets, wall plates, wires, etc. but they do have lots of tools from electric to elbow grease driven ones. read more

Harbor Freight Tool company is great for a browse. I wouldn't call them a home improvement store or a hardware store necessarily and more than just a tool store. It is a great place just to walk and browse and find the little things you just can't live without. The deals here are amazing, much better than Home Depot and aisle upon aisle, I find something interesting (unique tools, household items, home improvement, etc). I came in needing nothing and walked out with a bag of little things. Watch the newspaper coupons also. They always have a free item promotion, just for stopping in the store. Usually this is about a $5 value - industrial scissors, flash light set, etc. but I would definitely come by for a browse just for that. read more

This hardware store in the old Bealls Outlet location boasts impressive weekly sales on a regular basis since opening . Today's deal was an 80% off sale on select items. The staff is friendly, and the store is clean, although it smells of pesticides and plastics. Great for home owners and project people, the store is expansive inside. I didn't find anything I needed at the time, and I miss using my One Card at the previous Bealls Outlet. I'd say it's great to have a new tool shop in the area, but it's pretty much across the street from Home Depot. They mainly sell tools, so not much in the way of building materials, instead housing a large array of generators and the like. It's like an Ace Hardware on crack, and that just doesn't excite me. At all. And yes, it's also less than a mile from an actual Ace Hardware as well. Just sayin. read more

My favorite cheap tool and gadget place. It does not have the lumber, lighting, plumbing and other offerings of a Lowe's or Home Depot...but it is great for picking up low-cost and sometimes unique tools you do not mind loaning out. Also fairly compact with lots of discounts always offered so you rarely leave without buying someting you did not know you needed til you see it. And the coupons are a great savings. read more

I know the value of tools -value - and good engineering from years of personal experience at home and also as a NASA contract engineer. The tool selection is dazzling and the quality has improved. You can now select from different grades of quality - I like that. Even the upper grades are good buys. Nice clean store super bargains and well organized - but as far as employees being polite and helpful ? - sometimes not so much. Overall a great place to shop for affordable tools. If you still insist on believing that you must mortgage to home to get a quality large multilevel tool box like at Snap -On - by all means throw your money away. i pay for the QUALITY - NOT The brand name. read more
