Grey extreme duty tarp from Harbor Freight Tools, ripped to shreds about 6 months after being put up, from just the mild SoCal weather.
Karin T.

We bought an extreme duty tarp to protect our property, but it was Not worth buying at all! This was supposed to be a thick, extreme duty tarp, but after being up only 6 months it has ripped to shreds. After speaking with the manager, I was told they only will warranty this for 90 days. Ridiculous! How will you know how a tarp performs until it goes through a year of weather? Yes I have the receipt. I'm very disappointed that this company will not take responsibility for the shoddy workmanship of this tarp. We work very hard for our money, and this was such a waste of money and time trying to put it up. do yourself a favor and do not buy these extreme duty tarps. You will be buying another one in half a year. I will do what I can to make sure nobody else falls into this trap. I will be sharing this review on as many social media places as I can. Such a shame.

During the high wind fire fiasco, I had to find my brother, who live in Jarupa Valley a generator. I fortunate to have reached out via phone call and the gals that answered were all very friendly and extremely helpful. I've never purchased a generator and on this day I purchased 2, just in case I may have needed one. The price was very reasonable and the customer service was top tier. I did have to go back a few days later, as one of the 5 gallon gas tanks I purchased was missing the cap. The gentleman that assisted me was super nice and took care of the situation. He also reassured me that if I do choose to return the one I purchased (unopened) I could return it for a full refund. I finally got around to returning it today and I gotta say Alexander is amazing. He remembered me and him asking if everything went okay, meant the world. Everyone I encountered here has been so friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Harbor Freight Tools.

My go to place for affordable tools. They have a great selection of tools that other hardwares store don't. Located in a shopping plaza. Has its own parking lot. With tons of parking spots. Workers are very helpful. Highly recommended.

Free with purchase stuff!

This is a great tool store! They have tools for all the trades including both construction and automotive! If you need to fix it or build it they have what you need. But keep in mind it is not really a hardware store, you're not going to find lumber, pipes or carburetors here! These are not the highest quality tools but they are a good bargain for what you get. Example... I needed to drill some holes to hang some shelves for a friend and didn't have my tools with me. Got an electric drill and drill bits for less than $25 including tax. Will this drill last 100 years and be a family heirloom? No. Will it be the only drill my friend ever needs for small projects around his house, Yes! Yea I gave it to him so next time he calls it will be there LOL Shopping Tip #1: Bring one of their coupons, they come in the mail with the market flyers, and get free stuff! I've been buying tools at various Harbor Freight locations for over 20 years and been very happy. Plus, I love the free stuff; batteries, flashlights, tarps... All kinds of stuff free with purchase. The store is very clean and well-lit so it's easy to find what you need. It's not huge so browsing around is pretty quick considering the huge variety of tools and accessories they have. It's on the corner of Hawthorne Blvd & Artesia Blvd and has a big parking lot which is also clean and well-lit. The employees are helpful if not super friendly. Shopping Tip #2: The have huge parking lot sales all the time with big mark downs! A note, I took my mother with me once and she said "It looks like a supermarket for serial killers in here." because of all the tarps & duct tape & zip ties & shovels. LOL She watches a lot of "tru crime" tv so I just thought that was funny. But like I said they have tools for every job!

YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2018 - 30/100. I've driven by this place so many times and I know tons of people who come through here to shop for their specific specialty as well as take advantage of their discounted and/or free offers. The time came for me to finally make a stop. Family outside of these United States made a request for some items I was sure Harbor Freight had. Lots and lotsa parking. I walked in and immediately felt like I was in tool heaven. (And I promise you, I wouldn't know how to use about 95% of the items being sold there.) I would find it hard to believe that architects and engineers and construction workers wouldn't find the most basic items they would need for whatever their projects may be. I had a hard time finding the items I needed, so I asked for assistance. I was told they would be located at the warehouse located at the side of the store. So, there I went. Only to be told I wasn't allowed in there. Well, that posed a problem because the items I needed weren't available outside of the warehouse and I needed to get an idea how big and heavy these things are for shipping purposes. But other than the cashiers (they were busy, so I didn't wanna bother them) there was no one else around to ask for assistance. So, I came back out and walked around some more. I found one item fambam was interested in and got the measurements for that, at least. It isn't the kind of store I normally find myself in, but if I had to compare, it can compete with the likes of Home Depot and Lowe's only in the tool department. It falls short with everything else. Not really my kinda store (or shopping experience) for that matter. But if it's tools you need (for home projects and such) this is a go-to place.

This is a good coupon, the problem is the "with any purchase" 'cuz there's nothing great to buy here.

Generally speaking, I've not even noticed Harbor Freight Tools in the neighborhood I've resided in for over a decade, and someone told me about a "Free Promotional Coupon" at Harbor Freight Tools, so I looked up the closest location, only to find out it was really close and I'd just never noticed it. It's a pretty lackluster store, with a lot of off-brand names, most seem to be of the "Made in China" generic variety... think of this sort of like the quality of a "Dollar Tree" / "Big Lots" / "$0.99 Cent Only" store for Hardware. One coupon touted a free item with a $19.95 value only to find out you could buy it outright for under $2.50, or use the coupon with purchase and get it for free. One of the big turn-offs was the clientele seems a bit sketchy, and one somewhat gang related type, came in with some sort of monstrous pit bull breed dog, although on a leash, was free to roam the store and the dog gave ready-to-attack stares and nervous lunges at patrons. I'd think it would be common sense to not allow dogs, especially large breeds, and only if seeing-eye, or medical related assistance dogs, in the store, but the staff seemed for the most part very uninspired. I'd say it's an odds on favorite for me to probably never come back here. I'd prefer Ace, True Value, Orchard Supply Hardware, Lowes or Home Depot... or even the hardware departments at Target or Wal-Mart before considering this place for anything. I think if this is representative of the Harbor Freight Tools retail image, it's in serious need of a major marketing facelift and new business strategy.

The place is good, you can find any tool you want, I go often to this store, but honestly I'm very disappointed on this one in particular there's one worker named Vanessa she doesn't know anything about customer service, she is so rude, I've listened the way the she talks to other workers and is not the right way, she doesn't even say thank you or please. I don't know how people like this have jobs.

I prefer Lowes over Home Depot. Lowes stores are cleaner and the parking lot is less chaotic. I…read morehave recently written how Lowes offers a no paper receipt option at checkout. This reduces trash and saves them money that can be passed on to the customer. However, HD sells small hickory wood logs to use in a smoker. Lowes only sells chunks. I dragged the 30 lbs. of wood to the register and went through the payment process. When I asked if there was a no receipt option, the person working there said, don't worry, it will give you one." I proceeded to throw it away in the trash can as I left. There is no need in most cases to produce a paper receipt. I have an account with HD, give me the electronic option there.

Home Depot went to shit a while ago. Expensive but worse staff knows nothing. No experience, no…read moretraining. You ask them a question and they look like a deer in headlights. Today I asked a woman in flooring if there was staff to answer a question for a self improvement job. She wanted to know my question so I asked... and yep she was dumb founded and said my guys won't help you but they will install it for you. Wtf is wrong with people's brains?! How can you hire people who are of no help? You'd be better off not hiring at all. So many employees standing around chatting with each other. Lowe's at least have staff that try to help. Actually I stopped coming here two years ago but thought I would check them out for a product I'm looking for.
