I like this store cause it's not as big as the other big stores, cause sometime I just don't want to walk through a warehouse. I like the selection of tarps I was able to find a temp one to cover items on the back of truck to haul out of state and also find thick ones to cover my chicken coop. And at a price point I can respect! The staff was helpful asking if I needed help out and everything. I just wish there was more than one in this area read more

That way if something goes wrong it's on me. If you're kind and share a smile, no matter what or where, they will mirror you. Trust me, kindness is easier than being mean or demeaning. Lots of handy $hit in this store. If you need a hand cart and trust me if you're a home owner you need a hand cart, they got them. Got an engraver which works and this metal contraption to hold open a large trash bag for recyclables or leaves. The work benches are good price you can use it as potting table in backyard for 1/3 cost of potting tables. Some toys at the counter are old school. It's always got long lines but that's typical. The cashiers stop working with one customer to help random people who skip the line, also typical. This weekend, I went in to purchase a trailer. I was first informed that I had to sign up for their mailing list to buy a trailer. I don't want the mailers, I said, just the trailer. No, cashier says, you have to sign up. Keeping in mind I wasn't buying a sale item or using a coupon, we continued this way for several minutes. Wanting to leave the store already, I filled out the mailer card, using my address. Which happens to be a PO Box as the county hasn't assigned addresses this far out. Oh no, you have to give a street address. I don't have one to give you, I say. Back and forth we go again. A manager gets involved. Even though she's telling me to fill out a Harbor Freight card, the address is for the DMV. Ok, my other two motor vehicles are registered using my PO Box. No, he says, they can't be. Yes, I say, I can show you the paperwork. In the end, I gave them an old address just to get the heck out of there! Go to a different harbor freight, that's my recommendation. The cashier also, when hand $250, rang in $230 and held the rest to the side. I called her on it so she "recounted" stopping at $240 and keeping the rest near her pocket. The manager witnessed it as well but said nothing. Perhaps they split what they steal? read more

Harbor Freight is one of those places that has always been known for one use tools. The thing I love is that sometimes you luck out and buy a tool that just won't break and end up lasting forever. Pros: - Low prices - Huge selection - Friendly staff Cons: - Low grade tools - Cleanliness of store Overall it's not bad, however the store tends to get very crowded at times and often they have a hard time putting all of the items back in their places. My husband and I have been coming to Harbor Freight for many years, primarily because the deals are usually better than somewhere like Home Depot. But on that note we will no longer be coming here because saving a couple dollars is not worth horrible customer service and being treated so poorly, especially by the store manager, where there leaves you no one to complain to. All I did was ask a simple question of where to find an item and you would have thought I had interrupted the most important conversation with how annoyed she seemed by me, rolling her eyes and not wanting to help at all. That was my final straw they lost our business and I will happily pay a couple extra dollars elsewhere. read more

Incompetent staff! I called in advance to verify if they had a big ticket item so that I wouldn't waste my time and gas money driving there (3 hours round trip). The employee said that there were 2 in stock. Upon arrival I was informed that 1 item has missing parts and another was their floor model that they wouldn't sell. What a waste of time!!! Obviously great prices, but you pay for it with the wait! Like John in the previous post, I would describe the checkout process as hideously and unforgivably slow. Every time. Today I was the 11th person in line and it took me 12 and a half minutes to get checked out. That may not sound long, but I challenge you to stand up and stare at your computer right now for 12 minutes. Compare that to the checkout time at a place like The Home Depot. Also like John, I noted that there were four employees at the front, but only one register ringing people up. People with returns would occupy two or three clerks at a time. Even when things were so badly backed up, the clerks are forced to try to sign every person up for coupons, halting the line and the checkout process another couple minutes every time they do it. My time is worth more than the money I had saved. read more

I would first like to say that I love Harbor Freight, I personally spend at least, a few thousand a year (at least!), not on this branch though and I'm glad! Yesterday me and my family went to this branch because I came to Lancaster to help them with some construction. When I got to the register, I showed the cashier the coupon for the 20% off one item and the coupon for the free gift (electric fly swatter), she (I didn't get her name,short hair,blond-ish, heavier set, younger girl) looked at me all weird and said that it's for tomorrow. Sure it was foolish of me to not check the date on it, and I'm sorry. What I'm upset about is not about the coupon, it's the customer service she gave to me. She just gave me a look like I'm an idiot, and I informed her that I am not from this town and I usually have my coupons and I forgot. She didn't even offer to honor it or use what they have behind the counter which I saw on the other side. She did ask if I receive the coupons through mail and I said yes, and she still continued to give me a look that made me feel stupid and confused. At the end, I paid for everything without any discount or coupon. I have a receipt if anyone from this branch contact me. Seriously HORRIBLE customer service. Needed a lot more tools and such later that day, but I decided to bring my business somewhere else, because I don't want to come back to this place and be treated like SHIT! I just got a call from the actual store manager today, Darrel, and he is totally going out of his way to make good on this. He did inform me that there is a strict policy with Harbor Freight as a company that you should always have your receipts when returning or exchanging product (be aware, all of you) but he did understand the situation and the fact that this was a gift and is bent on great customer service so hes going to see I'm taken care of. Coming from a retail environment myself (Guitar Center), customer service is key to keep any business on the level and Darrel completely understands this and is working towards making his store rock with this in mind. Like I said before, this was a hot spot for me in the past for personal and business purchases and I'll continue to shop here now that I know theres a good man behind the wheel. read more

the tools are low priced, but the tools only last as long as you dont use them, so I bought several tools, a belt sander, two drills, a grinder, a jig saw, and much more. now I have nothing because one by one the all broke within a year time, and they only lasted that long because i hardly used them, NO bueno! read more
