Just moved to the area and this is the best harbor freight I've been to in the South Bay. They always have items in stock, especially the sale items. I do recognize a few employees who work at the other locations, it's cool how the shuffle their employees around. This location also ring up customer the fastest, if there's a long line and there is only one cashier, I notice they would open up more registers right away. I was able to find tools and make a toolbox after all my tools were stolen. I didn't have much money and this was absolutely awesome getting a kit with all the different tools for under $150. I did this after my friend who owns a local motorcycle shop Told me to go to Harbor freight. I thought he would say Mac or snap on he told me that they use a lot of tools from there and their premium brands are very good. In the last 3 months, I've been in this store Probably 7 times. They always seem to have something on sale when I go in. I'm always buying tools here for something to finish projects. This store is close by, and the tools are always priced right. When I go in and if I can't find something it seems always see this guy named Christian. He has always gone above and beyond to help me out to find something even if it's in the warehouse like he did today. He has so far helped me at least 4 times now to find what I need. Its like a toy store for the builders. I know people say their tools aren't good but for the price, they aren't bad. Some things are definitely worth buying here. Especially because you can always find a 20% off coupon. Get that free light coupon as well. It's free and you can always use as light. One of the employees who is always there in the mornings rocks.. super duper friendly and always willing to help. While I'm sure the staff are fine, this store's inventory is never accurate, I came here twice in three days. Didn't have the Viking Battery Charger, despite it saying "In Stock". To my frustration had to go to Torrance, came here again to get an Arctic Freeze" refrigerant, again showing "In Stock" Online, only to be told...."sorry we don't have any in stock, but every other harbor freight has em in stock!" Found a great deal for a power inverter online and called to make sure they match there on site prices then refused to honor it once I showed up in store. Had to debate with the worker just to get them to match the regular price without the coupon that was available for it. Bought a 2 gallon home & garden sprayer and much like the last time I bought something, the item was broken. The difference was that the first time I was able to exchange it. This time both people working the register weren't helpful. I didn't have my receipt but I have and account with them with my email address and like before they can just look my purchases up. Not this time apparently. I explained that I was going to make another purchase so a store credit was fine. I didn't want my money back. Still they said no. It was only a $15 item no biggy I suppose. I left them the strayer at the register. I just felt like their customer service was rude and the reason I didn't give them one star, was because for the most part my other experiences with other employees has been really good. Horrible customer service at this harbor freight, had to ask multiple times to multiple associates for them to check a different size of mask for me. Two of the guys I asked never even came back, 15+ mins of standing around waiting and asking for help. And to put it in perspective, they were not busy. Only about 3 other customers in the store at the time, and probably about 4-5 employees not really performing real tasks other than looking busy but not doing much work. This harbor freight is large but appears to lack any customer service and employees seem to not care. The item I was looking for had tons of them in the wrong section and their inventory said they had 6 but they didn't have any. The place has gone down hill in the last 6 months, this year. I been here about 4 times and it's been horrible experience. One of them is that they are always under stock. The walls and shelves looks empty. Also the workers are not helpful. For example, all of them are just hanging out in the front, checkout area just chatting it up, as I walked through all their aisles. I finally went to them and asked for help and provided them the item # She said it should be on aisle 7. She went with me and they were in the back warehouse. Don't return items at this store they won't honor their warranty. Unhelpful staff. I don't mind using cheap tools if I can replace them when they break but it doesn't work like that at this location. Staff is confused and doesn't know how to use point of sale software. Manager is also slow and unable to understand the POS software. Overall would not return to this location. read more

Brand new location on the back side of the revamped Carson Mall. This was the old Montgomery Ward's auto center many years ago. It's been vacant for probably 20+ years??? O_o Well vacant no more. It's a nice, brand new, shiny Harbor Freight! Not much to say about the store (chain), as it's the same as all of the rest. This location is pretty big since it's in what was a pretty big standalone structure. Of course, the shelves are healthily stocked, and hopefully it stays that way. I normally just use HF for my rubber work gloves and other generic consumables. The tools are ok depending on what you need. I do have to say that their tool quality has improved greatly in the last ten years or so, but don't expect any true professional grade stuff here. Some may be good only for one-time use, but it's all about balancing cost and need, right?? Just happy that I don't have to trek all the way out to Lomita or Hawthorne Blvd. anymore, since this is literally two blocks from my office. Yay! Yay! and one more YAY!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Personally, I don't come here anymore because I bought something here once, a few weeks after they first opened, and I didn't like the cashier too much. Yes I'm a woman and most often men shop here (perhaps I could be wrong?) Anyway, whatever! The cashier was a young guy, who probably just needs a job and doesn't care. This is the first time I've been to this store - i was a bit skeptical about coming here since I have been going to the store by cycle gear.. DAMN my instinct was SO RIGHT!!! Nevertheless, I have the same coupons on my phone as what they have in store - THE SAME EXACT just one at hand from store and other on my phone. While this Cashier chewed her gum assisting customers, i asked if i can use the store coupons i have: she stated NOT the coupons you took inside the store because were giving this out (??) so i said i have the same but on my phone - she said thats FINE.. I wanted to take my time and save all the same coupons i had for the freebies but the line was getting longer - I should've done just that to piss her off but I know better.. This is an all American tool store that is otherwise referred to as the man's man haven. When hubby found out they were coming close to the house he was very excited to know he will no longer have to drive so far, to such a great store. They are very well stocked, have great sales, great coupons including free stuff, very friendly and knowledgable staff, and they go above and beyond for their customers. As I have tagged along with him many times I have found more and more great knick knack household items for cheap prices, surprisingly. The monthly mailer advertises their sales as well as provides at least two coupons, definitely worth signing up for. So glad they are here, because we are definitely customers for life.
