I am writing to complain about my experience at the Gardena 14000 Crenshaw Blvd location. My first complaint is simply the young lady Rosemary( is the name on my Receipt) did not know how to measure properly. There was a gentleman at the register that was helping her round numbers off so I assumed they got it correct. I received the call and my screens were ready about a week later. I go to pick up my screens from Long Beach California, bring them home to my surprise. They do not fit. I immediately called the store and let them know that the screens were not fitting properly. When I get to the store I got the opportunity to speak with the manager, Miss Sabrina. She was very pleasant very apologetic and sincere. I also noticed on the rescreened that because of the way the screens go back into the window that the tabs were on the wrong side, Miss Sabrina wrote a note for the screens to have the tabs placed on the correct side. She also noticed my small window screen, which was a a new screen was thicker and taller compared to the original one. She lets me know that we'll make it a priority and will give you a call when they're ready. I believe I dropped them off on maybe Wednesday or Tuesday and I hadn't heard from anyone over the weekend. Here comes Monday. I just called to check on the screens to see what the progress was. I didn't get the associates name on the other end of the phone, but they did mention that the screens were ready. I had my mother pick up the screens because I was not feeling well. She brought the screens back to me I immediately knew that they were the same screens simply because the tabs were not placed on the correct side. The small screen did not fit back in the window again I get on the phone and complained again. Miss Sabrina says she's so sorry we're gonna go ahead and give you your money back. I had a question I wanted my screens re-screened and I wanted to know based off the originals. Would they be able to do it . the manager Lila stated we've done your screens two different times and we're gonna go ahead and give you back your money, no one looked at the size of the screens, the height of the screens to make sure they were the same. No one looked at the tabs to make sure the tabs were on the correct side of the screen. I am simply writing to let you know the service was poorly done. Unfortunately, I'm not sure the staff even respect the on-site management. I come to this location at least once a week, I own a business a mile away. I usually walk or ride my bike. Everytime I walk in I'm never greeted, I feel like I'm a burden when I ask for help, 3 or more employees are always gathered at the front like a high school lunch table laughing and horseplay around. It's always one employee who has a great attitude, i found out today her name is Lila. Shes always helpful, and she always looks busy. I'm not sure if she's the manager or floor employee but she's great. I give her 10 stars and the store 2. read more

**Avoid this Ace Hardware location.** On Oct 17, 2025, I tried to return a defective item, but the manager, Andrew (the bald guy mentioned in other bad reviews), refused because the package was opened. When I explained that you have to open it to see it's defective, he just said, "I don't know, buddy, that's the policy," in a rude, dismissive tone. His attitude was unprofessional, and several employees just stood by watching instead of helping. It's not about the $3.59--it's about the lack of respect and poor customer service. They cannot process an ACE gift card in the store. The caulk that I bought expires in 3 months and it costs more than Home Depot. I wonder when or if they ever pull old products from the shelves. If they don't accept their own gift cards then that's unacceptable poor service and no value. read more

2 weeks ago I went to Ace Hardware to get a bulb for my lamp. The bulb wa s not in stock so the store clerk ordered the bulb and told me he is going to call me when the bulb arrive. I never got a call. I checked with the store and there was no record of the bulb being ordered. The clerk I talked to want me to come again and order the part again. Forget it. This is very bad service and a waste of my time. I will not go to Ace Hardware again. read more

This review pertains to an online order I placed, to be picked up at this location. I ordered a sun cast shed and instead of paying the $130.00 delivery fee, I selected this location for store pick up. Within 2 hours of my order, I received an email stating that they did not have the shed I ordered in stock, and they would send the shed to the store in their next delivery. 3 minutes later, I received another email stating that my order was cancelled and I was issued a full refund with no explanation. I went back on line and attempted to repurchase that shed and to my surprise this location no longer offered store pick up for the item, so I reluctantly checked home delivery as the transportation method. To my surprise, the delivery charge was now $270.00!!! That is 50% of the cost of the item. Am I now paying for shipping across the country from the factory?!! read more

This is my 4th choice for home improvement purchases. Service is not bad at some locations; however, the problem is that most are franchises and if you purchase an item at one location, it can only be returned at the same location. Also inventory is minimal and when there is an item at a good price, it's usually out of stock immediately. read more

Parking I only seen the one hour parking they have in front of the store street side and some available spots in front of the store. I was looking for a specific paint but they didn't carry it. However they were generous enough to help me find a store that carried it and explained to me the difference. I did appreciate the good customer care. I asked for some stuff to get old gum off concrete and got what I needed. read more

The minute we walked in, we were immediately welcomed by the cashier and asked if we needed assistance. My house was built in 1959 and I needed new bathtub facets. No one had the ones I needed for replacement, so finally I took a picture and called Ace Hardware. A female employee asked for me to send her a picture of the facets so she could see if they had anything to fit before I got there. This is the first time I have been to ace hardware in years. I show up to buy something my son wanted. We were the only customers there. There girl working at the cash register had the worse attitude. First, no welcome greeting when we walked in (being the only customers in the store, be happy you got some business). Everything is locked up and you have to call for help to unlock a $5 item. I asked the girl at the front if she could unlock the item. She acted like I was bothering her with my request. I asked her several times and then she asked me what isle which I didn't know since I had to walk towards her to ask for assistance. She should know the isle based on where I was standing. The store is not big. It's not Home Depot. Anyway, after walking back to get the isle number, someone was already walking over to help since they could hear me asking for assistance. Then, I saw they had a discount bin of stuff for 3.49. I grabbed a few items and went to checkout. She rings up two of the items for 11.99. I told her those were on sale. She said they are not on sale. The whole time talking to her she acted irritated and didn't want to be there. Then she gives me the getto head role and stare down. Nice staff, from the paint dept to the cashier this sunday morning. I had came in after the staff at the home depot nearby was very unhelpful. I had to find paint for my job and it was very specific. Today I had a great experience at Ace. It's really awesome when you do NOT have to hunt or plead for a salesperson to help you out. Both times that I went into this store in the past two days, I never made it to the 2nd aisle before I was asked if I needed any assistance. Today I was looking at Christmas LED globes. The manager immediately asked me if I had any questions. She then proceeded to take one out of a box to power it up and show me how it worked. Not only did she do that. But, she also made sure that I got the sale price along with a Veteran's Discount. This store is TOPS on my list now for hardware supplies. They're supplies are always full, the staff are very courteous, helpful and knowledgeable. Danna is a wealth of knowledge alone. So, if you ever are in need for hardware supplies or help. So I was in desperate need for a very specific part for a piece of machinery I was trying to fix and I wasn't quite sure if they would carry it. I showed the gentleman at the register who greeted me as I walked through the front door. He took one look at the piece that I had and immediately asked another employee who specializes in the piece that I was searching for. They didn't carry the exact piece that I was looking for but he did manage to put together something that worked just as well. I was very impressed with the way this gentleman handled the situation and found a solution instead of just telling me he didn't have the part I was looking for. Excellent customer service provided by a very friendly staff. I went from LA to Hawthorne to purchase a garage opener. My reason was a $5 coupon only valid at this location. Bought them previously but had to wait since they were out of stock for few months. I took the device back it was defective. They refuse to replace and after a while agreed. Replacement came with me being the original $5 coupon fee. I'm making an even exchange. It costed me more than that in gas to complete this. You'll return the defective item yo the manufacturer without a loss to you. But you would like me to take a loss. I needed a new window screen. I went to home Depot and Lowe's and was told they only sell kits. I didn't want to build it, so I called a window guy. He said 50 bucks and he would be out in 2 days. A friend reminded me of Ace hardware. I took it over there. Very easy to drop off, couple quick questions and I was gone. About a day or so later, they called. It was all fixed and painted. Total cost was about 20 bucks. It's less if you don't want the frame painted. Great service. read more

It is sad when you go to a business that is advertising on your local cable channel and they don't know about the advertising. This is a friendly local neighborhood hardware store. But Home Depot is a lot less expensive and has a lot more variety. Unless you're in a rush and you need something fast I wouldn't recommend this place. You have got to hand it to Ace hardware. They are a true old fashion hardware store. I like how when you enter Ace you are greeted by the staff. Most of their locations are small. This is the best alternative to going to the big box stores like The Home Depot or Lowes when you only need a few items and don't want to walk all over the huge store. Writing this review from outside of Ace Hardware just because of how impressed I was. Immediately upon entering, I was asked if they could help me find anything, to which the register attendant pointed out the aisle. As soon as I got the the aisle, an employee by the name of Andrew approached me asking if I needed help finding anything. I came here looking for a number of very specific thread pitches/sizes for some bolts and washers. A task that would have taken me at least an hour to locate. Andrew insisted in helping me find everything. He seemed VERY knowledgeable in the hardware section so he was the best person to help me out, although I'm sure everyone in there is equally as knowledgeable.
