Went into the store for a generator and couple other items, we were having issues with the membership and a couple of coupons popping up. Joshua was very helpful and knowledgeable with their systems and was able to resolve everything and helped us get the savings we were looking for and got us out the door quick. Long time client. I rarely to never post reviews. Ask my girls to 3/1 good over bad. I bought the extended warranty on my generator. They all failed within 90 days. Was given amazing service in Ventura! It's huge hassle to return one! They said my warranty was good for two more years. The manager came out. He was super aggressive. Told me I had already exchanged it several times and he wouldn't honor the contract. He wanted to sell me a 800 dollar warranty on this one. I will be calling corporate to get this resolved. All this could have been handled in a professional way. No need to make me feel like I'm ripping them off. It's their contract! I like it's hard to find good people these days! Ordered a Tool box in August, Paid in full as required, no Deposit , full price out of pocket, Still have not received it . Being told "maybe" in late November ! There is no tracking of the unit. Could be in China, could be lost in a local shipping hub; who knows? I do not want my money back, I want the tool box they took my money for!!!! 4 months much is too long to wait. It is not the retail store mgr's fault, they can only give what gets delivered. This is a deliberate Corporate policy. I think Harbor Freight may be going out of business and are not paying their suppliers, Shipping delays does not explain this delay, not paying your suppliers and /or Corporate embezzling practices do. Prove me wrong. You cannot get any tracking info at all , they have no idea if your order was received and in process, they "think" it is being shipped but cannot confirm anything. I simply didn't realize they had to scan the coupon, I just thought it was included and forgot about it until I got home. Came back today to spent another $50, and he didn't want to honor it, even though I had the receipt with me. Really bro? For a $5 piece of plastic that cost 50 cents to make? Talk about stingy. And they will take returns on anything that you're not satisfied with... Have to like that! I love the little freebies that they offer when you come to the store. April 6, 2023 I will no longer be a valued customer at any and all Harbor Freight retail locations, nor will I refer anyone to anyone else now or in the future. Here is why: I've been shopping at harbor freight for decades, and work in automotive, construction, and engineering. I've made invaluable connections over the years, whom I have referred to harbor freight for numerous purchases to outfit facilities and support technicians. This year alone, I've spent thousands within a few months. However, corporate policy, primarily total inflexibility regarding providing good customer service, has eroded any and all value I previously found at Harbor Freight. Through an extensive education and career, I know first hand, the problems we all face on a daily basis. True value added by any organization is the ability to support customers by finding creative solutions to their technical problems and challenges. Yet, numerous times, this year, I've found staff including store managers unable to offer solutions due to corporate policy. Recent examples from 2023 include showing up to numerous retail stores, only to find the items listed in stock on the website are not actually in stock, and the explanation is simply, don't trust the website, it's never correct. Well, what is the point of showing inventory on your website if it's never accurate??? The next example is purchasing a large upper and lower rolling toolbox. The color and design was discontinued, but a few were in stock. I found the box I needed for a new facility, and did not have the luxury to wait three weeks to order one, so I needed to purchase one currently in stock. The local retail store had one left on the showroom floor, complete upper and lower, same color, but it's discontinued. The manager was prohibited by corporate policy to sell it, even though it's been discontinued, and will apparently be shipped back to a national warehouse, which will be expensive. My only option was to buy the lower at one location, and travel three hours to another location to buy a different colored upper. The final example, I needed a complete fuel injection test kit, last minute. I checked the area, and found a store one hour south with one in stock. After working a ten hour day, I drove through very busy traffic, 1.5 hours south, only to find out the inventory was incorrect. So, I looked up the next store with the kit in stock, called to verify, but was put on hold for fifteen minutes, so I called again, and began an additional 1.5 hour drive. I asked them to hold it. I phoned thirty minutes prior to arriving, to notify them, I would be five to ten minutes late, and again, letting them know I was driving a very long way. The staff member said, no problem, we'll be here. I arrived eight minutes after closing, but the doors were locked, so I phoned again. The manager answered, and told me that corporate policy prohibited selling an item after closing. I explained that I called multiple times, drove a very long way, and a staff member stated that waiting a few minutes after closing was not a problem. The manager was not flexible in any way, again citing corporate policy as the reason. So, I'm letting you know, that your managers do follow corporate policy, your policy to be completely inflexible,which does not help consumers solve their problems in real life situations that arise every day. Again, creative solutions to people's problems and challenges are invaluable. Complete inflexibility, with robotic managers and staff, that are not empowered to be creative problem solvers and offer helpful assistance is, is the exact opposite, valueless. Why not just have a bunch of robots, if your corporate policy prohibits staff managers and staff from being empowered to offer real world solutions in challenging situations. This rigid, inflexible business model is a disservice, and the primary reason I refuse to engage in any further dealings with Harbor Freight and will actively send everyone I engage in business dealings with elsewhere. I truly hope Corporate makes drastic changes to this business model. Currently, it's a complete disservice to the technical community. What can I say it inexpensive quality tools, with a lifetime warranty. I have bought hundreds and hundreds of dollars of Snap-On and MAC Tools great stuff only to have them break only you have to wait a week for the tool truck to come around to replace or fix them. At Harbor Freight the difference is I can go to harbor Freight any day, get any tool, custom to a unique tools, heavy-duty tools. if they break they will replace them no questions asked! They got a lot of other interesting stuff that comes in handy like micro fiber towels, zip ties and gloves of all kind. This location is the corp office it attached to the distribution warehouse so if they have a sale and run out they can go next door and get more!! read more

Stating a home project and I went to Harbor freight in Camarillo to purchase a rotary tool only on Friday only to realize I didn't need it to do the job so I returned it a day later and they charged me a restocking fee $22 bucks. I hope they realize they lost a customer I will never again step foot into that business and I have shared my story to all my friends, family and co workers so I hope that $22 dollars was worth it. read more

This local Harbor Freight is really big. I believe it's a hub for Harbor Freight. I used to purchase all Craftsman tools but since their quality dropped, I decided to give Harbor Freight a shot. Their tools are just as good from what I can see. I picked up a floor jack, jack stands, and a Torque Wrench. So far so good! I do like that all of the hand tools have life time warranties. I believe that harbor freight is a rip-off. Consumers save your money, when you are buying large electrical or gas items. I purchased a harbor freight predator generator approximately a year ago. I used it once and then it would not work at all. Because it was just out of its warranty. I called harbor freight to see if someone could repair it and they could not find anyone. I call there consumer services and they had me ship it back to them and they would replace it. It's been a month and a half and have not heard from anyone. I have just lost out on 500.00 dollars. I've been a customer of Harbor Freight for several years. On 11/19/20 I decided to take a chance on an expensive purchase. I bought a $10,000.00 ICON tool box suite with side and upper lockers. The manufacturer sent the items to Harbor Freight's Oxnard store, which they use as a warehouse until a contract company picks it up and delivers it to the customer. I got a notice from the delivery service that my purchase was not at the Oxnard store. After a little digging, I learned that it was shipped under the wrong name, a name that was in fact gibberish and anyone reading it should have questioned it. On 12/15/20 I also discovered that one of the upper lockers was the wrong part. I went back to the Camarillo store and the manager contacted their customer service. At the end of the conversation, he said I was going to credited for the wrong cabinet and sold me the correct one that had to go through the same shipping regime. A month later, the Items were finally found their way to me; however, I still haven't been credited with my returned locker. Also, one of the pieces had minor damage. I was ultimately given a Harbor Freight gift card for the damage, which I thought would take longer to resolve. In the intervening months, I've been on the phone for hours trying to get through to someone who can help. Their customer service literally blocks you from getting to the proper person. One fellow went so far to say that he didn't know who he reported too, usually you just get the run-around and with no other option than leaving an unanswered message. Interestingly, the Camarillo store manger left me to handle the problem myself. I finally got a young lady who seemed to know all about my dilemma and left me feeling that the problem would be taken care of; it wasn't. I got through to her again this last Monday and she said she would have it resolved in 24 hours. Well, it's Friday 2/26/21 and I still have not heard back. This is the king of experience you might expect from some kind of rip-off mail order business not a large company like Harbor Freight. When we moved from Colorado we were excited to be living near Harbor Freight's corporate office because if the Thornton, Co location was awesome the store near the corporate office had to be outstanding. Well, we found out that isn't true. The customer service was the worst I have ever witnessed. I overheard the lady working on the floor tell several customers that they walked past whatever they were looking for and they needed to go back and find. One lady came back a second time to ask the employee for help and she still refused to help the customer. When we went to check out the employee at the counter, Star, was too busy having a personal call to help. As soon as a line started to form she decided to start ringing up our purchases. I told her I had coupons and she completely ignored me. After she told us the total, I had to ask her to scan my coupons. We will not be shopping at Harbor Freight any time soon. If have not visited any harbor freight tools store you are missing out on alot of good deals. Curiosity has led me to pick up several hobbies since discovering this store. Their low prices and variety of tools have allowed me to do some basic home maintenance like plumbing as well as some wood work I have built a wood shed with their tools as well as general maintenance. Their line of automotive tools are also very handy, I have the code Reader and it has saved me alot of money and time. Lifetime warranty as well as a 90 day no questions asked policy works well when exchanging the item. I would recommend d getting the 1 or 2 year extended warranty on any tools greater than. 100 it makes sense and will save you money in the long run should it fail. Let's keep it real when new we treat them like a baby but after a while we test the tools to their limit in some situations. This company sells low priced tools and other products. Their power tools are great values. For someone like me who uses these tools only occasionally, the durability is more than adequate. I have purchased 3 cordless drills, a power planer, belt sander, a hammer drill and have not had a single failure in many hours of use. I have purchased some unsatisfactory items and they have taken care of the situation with no fuss. Some of their inexpensive gadgets have not worked out that well but then I paid very little. If you use your tools professionally, then maybe you should purchase Dewalt or Bosch but for the home user, you can't beat Harbor Freight. read more

I do some volunteer work, and something is always in need of being fixed, mounted, changed, cleaned, lubed, etc. I can find many of the things I need here at maybe 1/4 the cost of a Home Depot. I don't mind donating stuff if I can do so at a reasonable price. Also, consider doing this. Harbor Freight has coupons in magazines, mailers, online, frankly everywhere. They do not honor their coupons or sale advertisements purchased a shop vac& putty knives on December 31st at 8:43 am that was on sale at $20.00 off until 12:01 am January 1st. They charged my debit card but then put ahold on the sale till January 5th , they then declined the sale and said it still was not on sale.that was the only explanation even tho it showed it was purchased on December 31st at 8:43am. I have been a loyal customer for about 11 years but not anymore. Also in the last year they would not honor their coupons that they would send in the mail the stores would say the coupons were expired even tho the coupon itself showed expiration date much later. Then also their tools and air tools would break or quit working and they would not honor their own warranty. They are terrible and they do a lot of bait and switch. Harbor Freight used to be a great bargain selling tools that were adequate in quality at throw away prices if they broke. The 20% coupon was even greater, allowing purchase of a more expensive tool you might not buy but lured by the 20% discount. It also had a lifetime warrantee, bring it back and they would give you a new one. Not anymore. Now that same lifetime is months and without a receipt you are out of luck. Another thing, and most important, that 20% coupon in very fine print EXCLUDES almost every brand of tools they sell that is more expensive and would make the 20% coupon very worth while. It no longer is. This Harbor Freight is no longer worth buying as they have so many restrictions all their old warrantees no longer exist. Selling cheap tools made in China is no longer worth it. I've gone back to Sears Craftsman. You do get what you pay for. Harbor Freight drove Sears almost out of business, its time we Americans started supporting our American made products. This store proves that you get what you pay for. All the equipment or tools you buy that don't have moving parts will hold up just fine. The gas or electrical powered equipment work well in the beginning, but will fail very quickly. I am landscape contractor, so I bought their predator vibratory plate compactor. Always buy the warranty. After 3 - 6 months, something fails on the compactor and it needs to be replaced. Even though it breaks, the equipment has the same capabilities as a Milwaukee, it just will not last as long. read more
