They were also the highest bid we…read morereceived (around $38,000), but we believed we were paying for quality, expertise, and project management. Their sales presentation was impressive, and we were told they would coordinate everything for our pool patio remodel. Unfortunately, our experience looked nothing like the polished videos we were shown. The project stretched from February 5 until May 14 and required constant homeowner involvement. Instead of having a project manager ensuring the work met quality standards, I felt like I became the project's quality-control inspector, inspecting every stage of construction, discovering mistakes, documenting issues, and asking for them to be corrected. I expected to hire a contractor. Instead, I spent three months acting as the quality-control inspector for my own project. During the project we dealt with broken pool pipes, damage to our pool aerator, fill tank, and underground plumbing, uncapped sprinkler lines beneath the patio, missing weed barriers, uneven pool coping, improper edging, damaged landscaping, and extensive construction debris left throughout our property and neighboring yards. In addition, several pieces of our personal property were damaged or destroyed, including a broken pool net, broken garden hoses, a seven-foot wooden shade post that workers used as a cutting surface, and a planter that was thrown away after crews moved retaining wall blocks to drive equipment through our yard. We also endured weeks of piles of pavers, dirt, rocks, and construction materials stacked in front of both our home and neighboring properties, along with plastic bottles, McDonald's bags, and other food waste left behind by crews. One thing that became obvious was the lack of communication between departments. The salesperson promised certain things that the installation crews clearly never knew about. For example, we specifically discussed reusing our landscape rock, but it was thrown away during demolition because that information never reached the crew. Customer service became increasingly frustrating. When we emailed management documenting workmanship concerns, we received little response regarding the actual problems but had no trouble receiving payment requests. During one phone call, the project manager told us, "We thought the ship had sailed on customer service." Hearing that after months of issues was incredibly disappointing. One issue that really damaged our trust involved the sprinkler system beneath the patio. When water started shooting through the middle of the new pavers, we were initially told the lines had definitely been capped and it must simply be leftover water. Once someone inspected the problem in person, the response became, "Oh, we must not have capped them." Because multiple pool components had already been damaged during demolition, I insisted on having the underground plumbing pressure tested before resurfacing the pool. That test found additional damage that required repair before the pool could be completed. Had we not pushed for that testing, the pool company told us hidden leaks could have remained beneath newly installed plaster. Near the end of the project, I refused to sign the Certificate of Completion until the remaining work was finished. I was initially told work would have to be delayed if I didn't sign first. After refusing, management then said they would finish the work regardless of my signature. That experience left me questioning why there was so much pressure to sign paperwork before the project was actually complete. To be fair, not everything was negative. The second project manager, Jose Corral, completely changed the direction of the project. He was knowledgeable, honest, respectful, and immediately recognized many of the quality issues that had been overlooked. He worked hard to make things right and deserves recognition because he was the one person who consistently treated us like valued customers. I understand that construction projects can have unexpected challenges. My frustration isn't that everything didn't go perfectly--it's that we paid premium pricing and repeatedly had to advocate for issues that should never have occurred in the first place. Looking back, I don't regret investing in our home--I regret having to spend three months acting as the quality-control inspector on a premium-priced project. Homeowners shouldn't have to monitor every phase of construction just to ensure the work is completed correctly. If you're considering System Pavers, keep detailed written records, photograph every phase of the project, inspect everything before it gets covered up, and don't sign completion paperwork until every punch-list item has been completed. We paid a premium believing their system was superior and would properly bond to our pool deck concrete. Unfortunately, this has been the worst decking product we've experienced. Over the many years we have lived at this property, we have had a pool deck resurfaced 3 times. AZ DECK was the least durable, for a product they sold as the best. The decking is pealing and cracking where it has never done it before !! The surface cracked and peeled again, leaving us with the same failures we were trying to avoid by choosing a higher-priced company. Despite the claims of a specialized chemical bonding process, my wife and I never observed any visible concrete treatment or preparation beyond what appears typical for standard resurfacing. Whatever process was represented clearly did not result in better durability. The premium price did not translate into premium performance. I strongly recommend homeowners look elsewhere. I contacted the sales rep and the company. Crickets. checked the BBB. "This business is NOT BBB Accredited"

But I didn't find out till later when the planter box was all flooded like a lake and overflowing like a river to the street. I found the broken PVC right where I instructed his worker to plant an agave fior me. When I told Isaiah's TFH Landscaping that his worker broke the sprinkler line, ISAIAHs said he would send the worker over to do the repair in a couple days which Isaias said was Tuesday, the worker never showed up. When I called him to say the worker never showed up he said he would come in a couple days and he personally will come and be there. Well Isaias never showed up. What's worse is he used to answer the phone on the first ring and was "always there for me" and even said "You know I am always here for you and I answer the phone". But after he didn't show up two times he wasn't answering the phone anymore .... ever. I left many, many messages telling Isaias I was disappointed that not only does he not show up to do the repair that his worker broke, but he deliberately is ghosting me for weeks. He sees from caller ID it is me calling for him to repair something he damaged (I sent pictures of the hacked irrigation pipe in the hole where the agave got blown outta there from the broken line), so he deliberately does not answer the phone ever again to BE THERE FOR MEEEEE, like he told me previously. That deserves 1 Yelp star. So you think I'm going to do business with him if he doesn't even answer the phone ever? Someone told me "because they don't get paid to repair their mistakes and have to take time out from already paying jobs to go to a job that doesn't pay. I never spoke to Isaias again because he didn't care to come back ad fix the broken pipe his worker hacked to pieces. That deserves 1 Yelp star don't you think? I have a new landscaper who has many solid 5 Yelp stars, and so far he has shown up every time I needed him, right on time, even when he squeezed me in. But I have no experience if he will show up to fix something he didn't do right, because nothing like that has happened so far.

We recently completed a major job with Happy Tree and are very pleased with the results and the process. Our job involved replacing a large driveway and two patio areas totaling about 1800 square feet and about 100 feet of walkway with pavers, synthetic turf in two backyard areas, replacement and addition of drainage systems on the 1/2 acre lot, removal of extensive overly mature landscaping and replacement with new plants, rock, and mulch, plus new irrigation throughout. We interviewed 5 firms for the job, and selected Happy Tree as the best overall balance of design and creative ideas, cost, and schedule. One main reason we choose them was the communication right from the start with our designer Mauricio . Even at our initial meeting he was raising ideas and areas of concern that other companies did not address, and he listened very carefully to our likes and dislikes. His resulting design was a nice blend of his creativity and things we wanted, and as a result it was clear from the start that we would end up with something we liked. They weren't the cheapest bid, but their price was reasonable for work. I also liked that right at the beginning they highlighted several areas that would be TBD in the bid and the reasons why, indicating the potential issues they might run into once demolition began. Other firms tended to gloss over this, perhaps to not give the impression that there would be significant cost increases, but I've done enough construction myself to know what one can run into beneath the surface and what those can do to project cost. I appreciated Happy Tree setting proper expectations to avoid sticker shock later. The company was able to start the job fairly quickly, and we had a significant work crew at our house for the next couple months. The crew was always prompt and courteous, and they worked very hard throughout the day - it was clear that there was never any slacking off from these guys! Our project manager, Paul, was good at keeping everything flowing smoothly, and had clearly scheduled the work crews and materials deliveries so that there was no wasted time or off days. He was also responsive whenever we raised any issues (which were minor and rare) or had questions. We are delighted with the outcome, and we've had many wonderful comments from neighbors and passers by. We plan on staying in the house for years to come and hopefully won't be needing such extensive landscape work again for a long time, but we would certainly use Happy Tree Landscape again and recommend them highly. read more

True to his word ( and believe me, I'm a big skeptic ,)he and his crew, who were also very polite and patient lived up to an outstanding performance. They showed up , on time, everyday even worked some weekends to get the job completed. In my opinion it was a big job consisting of ripping out tons of tile( left over by the pervious owner) four inches of concrete, plus grass. They also tore out my old bbq island and built out of stone and added a beautiful colored cocnrete top. They also built an awesome gas firepit which we love! Needless to say we were so impressed with the crews work that quickly thereafter we had them tear out the old driveway and expand it with pavers, build a planter, rip out the old grass and had new sod installed. We had extensive work done in our back yard, and I mean a big job. It involved removing 1000s of old red brick, many yards of dirt and some concrete. Also, all new drainage and several new drain grates where neither existed before to alleviate any rain puddling. Mauricio , our project manager was spot on with his estimate, had an excellent crew there each day on time and they worked all day. Each evening they cleaned up and put away all their tools. To watch them was like watching artists at work, especially when it came to the final laying of the pavers, many of which had to be custom cut on-site to fit the odd and curving shape of our yard. By the time they were done, 10-14 days later, the transformation was astonishing. We have had a couple of minor issues with some of the joints losing sand, but they were on the spot to take care of it. Honestly, Mauricio and Abel and the crew did an outstanding job, especially considering how large and intricate this job was and communication between us was always easy, direct and pleasant. My wife and I have been wanting to fix up our yard for the longest time and finally decided to the pull the trigger. We called many different businesses and Happy Tree was the most responsive and professional that we spoke to. Paul, our project manager, spent hours going over the project scope and how every item was going to be installed. We had a few ideas of why we wanted and Paul was able to give us different ideas and alternatives that would cut cost for us. We ultimately decided to go with some of his ideas because it saved a good amount of material cost. Once we finalized all the details, they began working immediately the next day. We were looking to leave town for a few weeks and Paul was confident it would be completed before we left. Abel, the team lead, came with his team and completed our entire backyard in three days! We were so happy with the work we decided to have them work on the front yard as well just to get the entire place completed. These guys were incredible. They completely renovated our entire backyard, leveling a hill to install turf, ripping out a bunch of old, dead trees, building and staining a new retaining wall out of ipe, installing a french drain and drip irrigation system, planting a few new plants, and covering the remaining dirt with weed cover and mulch. Everything only took them about a week and a half. The only thing they really messed up was accidentally damaging one of the flowers while planting it, but they replace it with a new one so all is good. Highly recommended. I love our new backyard and I'm out there all the time thanks to the work they did. Will use them again next time I need a backyard renovated! read more

Our driveway and back yard pavers are AWESOME! Very high quality workmanship! We watched them working off and on for 5 weeks (it was a very big project) and they were absolute perfectionists! I did learn from this (our 1st major home improvement project) that communication is critical. I didn't ask about placing sleeves for future power or irrigation needs (Mauricio our Project Lead, included them the second I did ask), the grout color looked different than I expected, Happy Tree changed it out for the darker grey that I now LOVE, and when we had an event at our home but the front wasn't completed, they MADE a temporary walk just for the party! After meeting with different firms to hire for our landscape project in our front yard we decided to go with Happy Tree . Paul and his team came in and installed a brand new PVC pipe irrigation since our old system had the poly hose and it would break and leak constantly!It was annoying to say the least . They also redid our whole front yard ! We got a paver sidewalk installed with artificial turf . The foreman on site took care of everything . They were always on time and finished in a timely manner . A project like this took them 3 days ! I hired Happy Tree to build a paver driveway. paul did the quote and acted as project manager. Their drawings and quote were spot on. I got what I wanted after a couple of go arounds after changing my mind a couple of times. They started a few days ahead of schedule and finished early with no issues. The driveway is perfect. Had Happy Tree stop by to do a consultation on our project! He was very friendly and professional. His team installed a 20x20 aluma wood pergola, outdoor kitchen with concrete countertops. There was some delays on the Pergola because of supply chain issues( delayed us by 4 weeks! Additionally, he was proactive with his recommendations for maintenance and plant care. When I purchased another home outside of his service area, he advised he was happy to continue service my property, but understood if I wanted to find a vendor who could support both properties. Eventually I did hire a different company, but continue to refer others to him in his service area.

They have changed their name to "123 Landscaping". I should probably submit that to YELP…read more Apparently -they claim- there was some sabotage of their company in early 2023, and they couldn't unwind the mess. So they changed the name. The first few visits (as ABC) were fine, but then they went to crap about the time they say the sabotage occurred. OK...giving the benefit of the doubt, I contracted them to do clean-up and pre-emergent this month. The clean-up was not thorough. They missed two big piles of debris, possibly because they arrived late and didn't finish until after dark. The application of the pre-emergent was slip-shod. They put a dye in it, so you can see where it was applied, and where it wasn't. This was a half-assed job, frankly. And, similar to last summer when I fired "ABC", they aren't returning my texts or answering my calls, and their voicemail box is "full" per the automated message. In person, Christian is a nice guy, and seems earnest. But the way the business is run is unprofessional.
