Place was ok. Quiet... Decent size. No one was there but it was a Tue morning. Slightly dingy and dusty inside but not terrible. Lot of flies flying around inside. Staff was nice enough and waitress was very nice. Waitress was good ....checked on table and made sure all orders were correct. Food was ok.. nothing great but made perfect to order. Scrapple I ordered was decent....Bacon was crispy...Eggs we're good... I would always choose Driftwood Diner over this place but It's not a bad place to stop in for a bite. Prices are up and service is down. Disappointed since the potential is huge. "Sorry about the wait" doesn't make up for a ton of servers on their phones and revising POS terminals. The only person with a work ethic seemed to be the food runner. It took five minutes to be greeted. I had to go get my own menu. I had to flag my waitress down. The floors look like a three year old was turned loose with a five gallon bucket of tator toots. Slippery. No excuse for 2p on a Saturday with a full staff and 40% of tables filled. Kitchen staff messing around instead of cooking. The bar is slow. They could have sold me an additional drink if they had been more timely. I'll wait until I get home to go to the bathroom. Ugh. I shouldn't have to track someone down to pay my bill. My last visit was so promising. Maybe the next owners will recognize the potential of head boats, charters, and Herrington Harbor to draw people in. Owners and staff don't seem to get health and safety, cleanliness, and customer service. One extra star for nostalgia. I will not return of my own free will. I can't believe this place has such low reviews. From start to finish our experience was awesome. It started out by being serenaded by this beautiful young gentleman who played acoustic covers of all of your favorite hits from today, yesterday, and the 60s through the 90s. He even took requests! Then we got our order of hush puppies with honey which were awesome. The order was huge and could have been a meal in itself. Then came the real deal- fish & chips for him and a crab cake sandwich for myself. Everything was delicious and fresh and the waitress even found a way to bring a side of sautéed mushrooms for my oddly picky toddler who eats about three things total. While the bill was a little higher than expected, we also ordered three drinks which we weren't paying attention to the price. Overall, I would definitely return! read more

Went here on a Monday night. 25 cent oysters from 5 to 8 and $5 burgers all day. We were there for Happy Hour which goes until 7, so we went with 50 cent wings and a pound of mussels for $5. The wings were crispy and the mussels were good. Not a bad dinner for $10. People were eating the oysters by the dozen and they must have been good at the rate people were consuming them. The burgers looked like frozen fare so we passed on those. Bartenders weren't the friendliest but they seemed to cater to the regular customers and not the wayward sailors that ventured in. Nice deck on the back to watch the boats. Worth a stop if you are walking from the marinas off the river. Closest place within walking distance to Herrington Harbour North. If you go there with dive bar expectations, you won't be disappointed. read more

Went there on a Sunday. Beer was cheap. I got yuengling. My wife got four weak margaritas for $5 each. I got the fried pickle. Don't. They put a pickle thru a French fry cutter and then bread it. The result is a hot mess accentuated with a puddle of grease. They would do better cutting the pickle into quarters lengthwise and then breading it. I can't believe they actually serve that. BIKERS and BARFLYS....Others BEWARE! if you are neither of these people, don't go. This was my first time and should have trusted my instincts when we got out of the car to go into the restaurant. There is no clearly marked entrance. The only opening in the facade was actually where they haul the trash. We sat on the deck, because there were no patrons in the dining room. The air smelled of bilge water and cigarette smoke. The waitress was ok, nervous and young, and the following review has no bearing on her. We ordered iced teas to start while looking at the very deceptive menu. Nice selection. Good assortment of entrees, steamed seafood, baskets, hamburgers etc. Iced tea arrived and she dumped my husband's on him. She apologized and brought him a pile of napkins to clean the table instead of bringing a bar rag from ten feet away to clean our table herself. After all, he didn't dump it. We ordered and then the "we don't haves" started. Two separate occasions we were told of order problems.. first they didn't have any clustered crab legs left..only remnants of single legs. Second visit was to say they had no crab legs at all , could we substitute. Bear in mind this is early dinner hour at 6:00pm. We substituted. Food arrived 45 minutes later. Looking around we were the only people actually ordering and eating food. The rest were drinking their evening meal. Rock hard dried out sirloin steak, frozen thawed mostly filling crab cakes, crunchy baked potato (burned on the outside; crunchy and under done inside), canned cold green beans (the vegetable du jour lol). Inedible. Entertainment was nice. Singer had a good voice and was very polite when the barflys would yell at her. It's a local dive bar; not recommended unless that's your type. read more

Well-used smoking area is right outside the front door for you to walk through. Drinks are strong, staff is friendly. Had prime rib recently and it was good. Fries were soaked through with oil (not crisp). Ordered cherry cheesecake and it came topped with chopped maraschino cherries from the bar, which didn't taste good at all. I should have sent it back but I thought maybe it was a Maryland thing. My assessment - it seems a locals place for hard working people who want a decent, normal meal but don't have high expectations. I have also had very good experiences here when docking the boat in the evening and sitting out back for drinks and bar food. Very nice atmosphere outside! read more

Happy Harbor is open. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner to go and they have limited indoor dining. They have great specials and are doing there best to work through the Covid restrictions. I highly recommend supporting HH. They are always there for the community in good times. Now it's time to support them. read more

This was stop number 2 on a party bus tour through South County, Md. Don't ask my why South County, but I think it has a lot to do with the cheap booze. But the Happy Harbor would give our rather large party sustenance to delaying the inevitability of seeing double. By the way our waitress may have looked tiny and meek, but she was a total pro, as she got everyone's orders right and kept slogging booze left and right, not to mention she also had the rather large party next to us, not sure why she was working 2 large tables but again, pro. I delved in to nice giant burger called Itchin' for Summer which had fresh jalapenos and pineapple on the burger. I asked for medium and that is what I got. The burgers always come with chips, but I subbed in some greasy fries, if I wasn't drinking, I may have an issue with that, but I really didn't care. I was introduced to what is apparently a Md waterfront tradition, Orange Crush. Now, I had no idea what it was, until I ordered it. I was advised to sip it as it is heavy duty sweet and laden with a LOT of alcohol. It was divine, took me back to my Orange Tang days and yes, I took my sweet time with my crush. This no frills local hangout is a great find. The young female bartender at the Tiki Bar yesterday was great. She was quick and very attentive. We decided to get dinner while we were there enjoying our drinks and switched to an outside table. We received more great service from our waitress who was very accommodating since we relocated inside because of the pending storm. Drinks were reasonably priced and the crab dip was my favorite.
