They have a no tip nessecary policy and the staff is friendly. TVs are visible from almost any angle, so you can watch a game from your booth/table. The decor could honestly be better and some entres come with chips instead of fries, which I personally dislike because they're pretty bland and flavorless. I think you can sub them out for an upcharge though. The entres themselves are good and I have never had an issue-this time I got a gyro but I would highly recommend going with a burger. read more

Parking was good because it's in a strip mall and the setup is that you order, they bring your food to your table based on the number put on the table was refreshing and reminded me of the old days. Don't blink or you will miss this amazing little eatery on Route 4! Had lunch with a friend here in 10/4 and it is cute and quaint, clean and just all around amazing! I went with the cheesesteak salad special and it was HUGE!! It was all the wonderful parts a cheesesteak without the bread. The salad itself was fresh , all the veggies vibrant and delicious and topped with the generous portion of shaved beef and provolone. My friend ordered a burger, you get a choice of 12 or 8 ounces, she went with the 8 and it looked delicious and well prepared! Her fries were fresh and hot and topped with just the right amount of Old Bay! It's a quick service order at the counter type of place, all of the employees were so friendly and plates were cleared in a timely matter and every employee checked on us to see if we were ok and if we needed anything. While shopping the other day, wife and I stopped by for lunch and we're so glad we did! Don't let the size fool you - this is a quality restaurant. Fury, we were cheerfully greeted by the staff, who took our order. My wife got the chef salad and she loved it. It was so much, she had plenty to to make home. I ordered the steak and cheese Sammy and WOW! It was huge and delicious. The bread was amazing and the steak was grilled with onions. The food is generally good and the staff is generally nice. It's a nice store w tables out back or inside. Laid back The quality of the staff is variable. My recent experience involved the person who took my order being clueless about what came with it and how to key it in. He walked away from the cash register without saying a word. Left me standing there. Truly bizarre. His coworker stepped up to key the order in, she also seemed a bit uncertain but she stayed there and tried to figure it out. Then the original guy came back. Put his fingers in his nose. Ugh. It just seemed like these kids needed additional training. I couldn't figure out if there was a manager. It seemed like they were struggling on their own. My biggest beef is when the staff brings the food out, they don't necessarily bring silverware and napkins. I guess that's rhe customers job? It's unclear. Also, unclear is tipping. The tips used to go to community organizations on a rotating basis, but it's not clear if that's still the case or if the tips now go to the staff? My wife and I came for dinner and a gift card. The gift card was for another family. We figured they might like this place. We ordered cream of crab soup, a Chesapeake salad, and a Chef salad. The cream of crab soup was thick and had plenty of shredded crab meat. Unfortunately, it had too much Old Bay seasoning which made it quite salty and somewhat spicy. There was so much Old Bay that the taste of subtle flavors was overpowered. There was no noticeable flavor of sherry wine, butter, or cream. This is not a seafood restaurant, so I didn't expect it to be great. It had some depth of flavor with a good amount of crab. So, it was decent tasting, but the Old Bay seasoning needs to be decreased. Unless you're an Old Bay freak:)    The Chesapeake salad had mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, hearts of palm, cranberries, sunflower seeds, avocado,  green olives, and feta cheese. They had 10 types of salad dressing. FYI, the spicy ranch is ranch dressing with Old Bay seasoning. We picked balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The dressing had a zesty sour flavor with no sweetness. I don't think it was a balsamic vinaigrette. If it was a zesty Italian dressing, then it was good. Everything was very crisp and fresh. Overall, this was a very good vegetarian salad.    The Chef Salad had mixed greens, bacon, ham, cheddar cheese, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, mushrooms, croutons, and sliced hard-boiled eggs. We chose ranch dressing. All of the components were fresh and flavorful. They were cut into small pieces so that eating them was not cumbersome. If you've ever eaten at a restaurant with bad preparation, you'll know what I mean. Kudos to the prep people who work here. Great prep work on both salads!! The bacon was real bacon sliced into square pieces. This was a nice touch that made this salad stand out from other restaurants' Chef salads. Loved the combination of ingredients in this salad! It was very satisfying and filling.    The service was cordial, responsive, and reasonably quick. The restrooms and dining room were clean. The atmosphere was laid-back and casual. There is enough variety on the menu to satisfy most people. We plan to visit again. read more

Wanted to take a couple minutes to talk about an experience we had with our food this evening. There are a few menu items that have been staples for us at CG and one of those (biggest one) is the cream of crab soup. We have been getting it for years and have compared it highly to another favorite of ours, Edgewater Restaurants cream of crab. Unfortunately our soup this evening has taken a major step backwards with the crab being very subpar compared to the last time we got it. The cream of crab had always been of great flavor and had lump crab meat in the soup with very little shells. The soup this evening contained very clearly cheaper crab meat that was not lump at all and had a lot of shells in the soup. For me this was a MAJOR turnoff and if this is a menu/ingredient change then that will be a big determining factor in our decision for future visits. I can't state enough how much we enjoyed and appreciated your cream of crab, this evening's was very disappointing. I am very hopeful that this was a fluke or off day, but if this is a new change to cuts costs or what not, it will have a larger negative impact. I believe in true and honest reviews for the sake of improving service or quality so I am hopeful that this catches the attention it deserves and gets things back to where they should be. I would love some feedback on if this is a change that was made to the ingredients for cost reasons or other. read more

Ok food, ok service. First time I went, I had the wings and they came w so much Old Bay they were simply too salty. Good serving size but not really good wings. Second visit I got Rockfish Bites and a Pulled Pork Sandwich. Again, way too much Old Bay in the dipping sauce (and also in the bites breading?) for the rockfish bites, plus they were a bit too greasy. I threw away the last 3 or 4 bites which I hate to do. The pulled pork sandwich was pretty good, nice balance of coleslaw and pork. Still trying to find a favorite dish here. read more

So I initially had an issue with a previous order and since I had signed up for text notifications I got a text asking about my order and upon completion I got a call from the manager. She made everything right and when we came for our subs today the girl let us know our Subs came plain. Hallelujah and thumbs up they actually made changes as well as took care of us for the prior issue. Not only is this a business that cares they want to make sure you come back. We are happy and will most definitely come back. The Gyros are superb and we look forward to trying new items on the menu. Calvert County has a few gems and this is one of them. read more

Visit this place quite frequently. Was totally disgusted with the way my family was treated here tonight. We came in with a family member from Florida tonight, and we got here around 8:45. Ordered our food at 8:51. We were not given the plastic cups for our drinks but paper cups to go. My niece went to get ice in the cups for the kids, and there was no ice. She brought it to the attention of someone behind the counter, and she said there was ice in there. After trying again , they finally came out and emptied 3 full buckets of ice in the hopper in the machine. We were not told that we would have to be in a hurry because they closed at 9. Our order was not correct, which we dealt with, but what disturbs me the most is that they must have been in a hurry where they did not fully cook the kids' wings. They were raw on the inside. Had they let them cook another 6 or 7 minutes, they might have escaped this review. My grilled chicken ceasar salad came out without the chicken.This place needs to retrain their staff in customer service and proper food temperatures for cooking chicken, not serving it raw to their guests. They need to stop seating at 8:30 PM so they don't have to hurry people up and treat them like my family was treated so the staff can hurry up and go home. We dropped over $140.00 and definitely was not worth it one bit.Theire prices are not the cheapest in town for sure, but couple with the way things turned out , I would not recommend going in this place after 8pm. read more

This is definitely one of the best places in Dunkirk to eat, went here Thursday evening wanting to try the Cream of Crab soup.... Amazing Amazing Amazing!! It is filled with crab meat and nice and creamy, just a fantastic taste. I also had a cheese burger with fries and I must say that was very tasty as well. The customer service was great as soon as you walk in you are greeted with a smile and everyone has a nice attitude. Ordered the cream of crab very runny again very runny‼ small so ordered a Reuben sandwich it was dry and no flavor wouldn't recommend

Been here numerous time since they opened. They are letting things slip a little. Plenty of people working here, so I have to chalk this up to day to day management. The floors (especially under the tables) don't look mopped. Tea is not fresh, tastes like it was made a day or two ago. Several people standing around at lunchtime waiting for tables, whereas they should be cleaned off reasonably quickly. I've forgiven the slightly high prices because there are so few sit down choices in Dunkirk and the food is usually decent but if this keeps up, it will be a slow unravelling.
